"Zimbabwe must function on basis of TRUTH." CCC will never ever deliver change, is the truth that matters most! W Mukori

“Charovedzera charovedzera, gudo rakakwira mawere kwezviba!” so goes the Shona adage. Whose English equivalent would be some dirty habits never die!

Zimbabwe is a failed state partly because the country’s main opposition has wasted one golden opportunity to end the Zanu PF dictatorship after another. Nelson Chamisa has kicked off the New Year, 2024, with another one of his meaningless prattles!

“TRUTH IN GOVERNMENT...Where we are going, Zimbabwe shall work and function on the basis of TRUTH and nothing else. The entire government, the President’s office, our public officials and public institutions like ZBC shall work on TRUTH alone and nothing else. No lies. No propaganda or falsehoods. Zero hate. Nil malice. Behold the government of truth. #ForEveryone.” wrote Chamisa on his X page.

Since when have you, Nelson Chamisa, ever been truthful? The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect yo and your follow MDC/CCC leaders into power on the understanding you lot would implement the democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. After 23 years, including 5 in the GNU, you lot have failed to implement even one token reform. Not even one!

You have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. You were so hell bent on participating in the 2023 elections you even lied about “plugging all the vote rigging loop holes!” Even when AU and SADC dismissed the last elections as a farce CCC leaders still took up their gravy train seats making it impossible for SADC to deny Zanu PF political legitimacy.

The truth is the August 2023 elections were so flawed and illegal, they failed to produce a legitimacy government. Zimbabwe does not have a legitimate government and this has only served to reaffirm Zimbabwe position as a pariah state. No one wants to do business in a pariah state and so there will be no meaningful economic recovery. None!

Worse still, there is no prospect of any meaningful democratic reforms being implemented in the coming five years. And with no reforms it goes without saying that Zanu PF will rig the 2028 elections and CCC will participate out of greed. And so the nightmare of rigged elections and bad governance is set to continue!

The people of Zimbabwe must wake up to the political reality that as long as Zanu PF continue to enjoy the carte blanche powers to rig elections there will be no meaningful economic or political change in Zimbabwe. To get change the nation must first implement the democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. MDC/CCC leaders will never implement any reforms, after 23 years and nothing to show for it the penny should have dropped by now.

Just because MDC/CCC have failed to implement reforms does not mean the nation does not need reforms, we need them more than ever. Just because Chamisa and company failed to implement even one reform does not mean no one else can - the reforms are common sense and not rocket science - all we need are competent opposition leaders.

Truth! The number one truth the nation must deal with is that Chamisa and company will never implement the democratic reforms and stop Zanu PF rigging elections. Never ever! If we are ever going to implement the reforms and get out of this hell of rigged elections and bad governance then we must reject Chamisa and his idiotic prattles and think outside the box!

  1. Dictators do not want healthy and functioning state institutions because if they are healthy then they will invariably fulfil their public duties of serving the public, the good of Rome. Dictators are obsessed about the glory of Caesar and not the good of Rome and what better way to guarantee the former than appointing cronies and thus effectively destroy the said institution! It is easier to destroy than to build!

Dictators consider themselves as benevolent dictators at the very worst! Even when Mnangagwa blatantly rigged the elections and murdered countless innocent people he still maintained he was doing the nation a great favour!

“It is never easy speaking out and standing up for the oppressed suffering millions in Zimbabwe due to the inevitable ferocious backlash from an angrily intolerant regime that does not want its nefarious activities to be exposed.

Therefore, any who dare go down this road have found themselves in the midst of relentless attacks, propaganda, and smearing as well as threats to their personal being.

There are those, especially in the opposition, who have lost their lives, been savagely beaten up, had their homes razed to the ground, or abducted and never to be seen or heard from ever again.”

    Thank you!

Zimbabwe needs competent opposition who will implement reforms and get the nation out of this hell-hole! It is disappointing that it has taken 23 years to come to this conclusion and any more delays is simply unforgivable!

“Chamisa is far far much better, than any of these he’ll bent on the past with no action at all. There had been no other opposition that has taken Zanu to this stage. At least say something that he has done good kwete kungotsoropodza muri out of the country fighting someone who is fighting a lion, which side are you people. At least Chamisa has tried. We had so many opposition parties who just came and go without any fruits at all. Let’s fight this regime together and give us a way forward not hell bent on what was not done years ago.”

You have no clue what the reforms are, what the GNU was about, etc., etc. MDC/CCC had 23 years, including 5 in the GNU and failed to implement even one reform and worst of all they have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. CCC will never ever implement any reforms and deliver free elections. After 23 years, including 5 in the GNU, MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one reform and yet that was their number one task. How anyone can still say they are “trying” when they have given up and are bust selling out; beggars belief. But all these things mean nothing to you, it is all water off a duck's back.

Of course if you do not understand what the reforms are, the grade one stuff, how can you possibly understand consequences of failing to implement the reforms, the University level stuff.

Whether we care to admit it or not the Zimbabwe electorate are ignorant, naive and even down right stupid and both Zanu PF and CCC have taken full advantage of it. Democracy is government of the people, for the people and by the people but how can the people hold those in power to account when they have no clue what those in power are doing.

Zimbabwe is a failed state because the electorate are ignorant and naive. Zimbabwe is nothing more than a house with no foundation and built of mud bricks, ignorant and naive electorate; we can pretend it is a solid structure all we want; it will not stand for long!

“Zanu this time around went beyond rigging ‘yaka bvuta’ as the saying goes around these days
This was a repetition of ‘Takaruza but takaramba tiripo’ of yester year

How can such a loophole be closed
This should be the new talk
This and the talk about the blatant disregard of SADC declaration of illegality is what is more fresh talk
The talk about participation in flawed process is dated - rendered irrelevant by Opposition performance and SADC declaration and denial of certification

It is obvious to any open minded person that Zanu resorted to ‘kubvuta’ because WIRE left them with no way out but smash and grab kubvuta option.”

This is just going round and round in circles!

“How can such a loophole be closed?” you asked. It was Chamisa who said he had plugged the vote rigging loop holes. Are you agreeing that he was lying?

“This and the talk about the blatant disregard of SADC declaration of illegality is what is more fresh talk.”

CCC leaders themselves blatantly disregarded the AU and SADC condemnation of the 2023 elections to take up their gravy train seats; a move that made it much easier for SADC leaders grant Zanu PF legitimacy.

“The talk about participation in flawed process is dated - rendered irrelevant by Opposition performance and SADC declaration and denial of certification.”

Make up your mind, are the 2023 election acceptable or not?

“It is obvious to any open minded person that Zanu resorted to ‘kubvuta’ because WIRE left them with no way out but smash and grab kubvuta option.”

So we should continue with WIRE and forget about implementing the democratic reforms, we just need to improve the strategies to stop “kubvuta”!

No wonder SADC leaders throw in the towel after the June 2013 summit, Zimbabweans were not ready for a healthy and functioning democracy back then and nothing has changed since. Of course, SADC leaders are right not to act of the damning SADC election report, why should they if we are happy “with the Opposition performance” and WIRE strategies!

As h said his own party pushed out, but in our country zanupf won’t do that coz they know they benefit by pushing through that agenda.”

The people have risked all to elect MDC/CCC leaders to implement the democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. What is shocking here is that after 23 years, including 5 in the GNU, some people are conveniently expecting Zanu PF to reform itself for no better reason than because they do not want to admit MDC/CCC leaders have sold out!

Ignorance is curse worse than death because in our ignorance we have often acted contrary to our own best interests. In our ignorance we have embraced political leaders are demigods who must never be questioned even in the face of a mountain of evidence these leaders are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent.

MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, including 5 in the GNU, but such is our reverence to these leaders we are still refusing to accept they are indeed corrupt and incompetent. The price for our folly is that Zimbabwe is a failed state sinking deeper and deeper into the abyss and we are not out of the woods yet, we still believe CCC is the “best foot forward!”

MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one meaningful democratic reform in 23 years, including 5 in the GNU. A few of the MDC leaders who were in the GNU have admitted they took their eyes off the ball in failing to implement reforms.

“As a collective political leadership, we should have taken time to apply our minds to the existential question:

    “What next after the GNU?”
We did not address this matter.
This was suicidal.” confessed Professor Arthur Mutambara in his Book In Search of the Elusive Zimbabwean Dream, Volume III (Ideas & Solutions).

David Coltart has gone one step further to admit the opposition have been participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Even now with the benefit of hindsight you still refuse to accept the political reality that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt, incompetent and will never implement the necessary reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. 5): Its important and key for SADC to have a Zimbabwe that works. It's also good for the People of Zimbabwe. Therefore the ZANU PF Government should not focus on themselves but the generality of the People of Zimbabwe.
6): SADC will very soon on January 10th will be announcing a set of Sanctions against Zimbabwe to ensure the Member State complies with SADC Guidelines and Principles as enshrined in the SADC treaty of which Zimbabwe as a Member State is signatory to it.

SADC should have dealt with the matter decisively and quickly and not allow the matter drag on and on and on! Letting Zanu PF off the hook is the worst thing that can happen to Zimbabwe at present!

“Let’s take a moment to think out of the GNU and Reforms box - we have been stuck there for years now and we have missed out on understanding the power dynamics on the ground

A quick 2 hour read of the whole book ‘Who moved my Cheese’ would help us somewhat

If SADC had teeth that bite hard - we would not have Zanu operating out of established regional standards. Zanu tested their bite on many occasions in the past

    Takaruza Asi takaramba tiripo
    The coup
    The excelgate
    The Nevers
    The denial of legitimacy

SADC needs to implement reforms in their own house to control the wayward Zanu

Let’s not be stuck trying to fix holes in our ship to Canaan when the destination is now accessible by air - SADC’s sharp teeth is the new solution.”

I am not stuck in the “reform and GNU box”. You just do not want to acknowledge what happened during the GNU and so want the whole period airbrushed out of existence!

You will never ever give SADC the credit for forcing Zanu PF to go into the 2008 GNU because you will never ever admit that it was MDC leaders who took their eyes off the ball even though MDC leaders who were in the GNU say so!

“As a collective political leadership, we should have taken time to apply our minds to the existential question:

    “What next after the GNU?”

If we airbrush the whole GNU period out then, yes MDC/CCC leaders have never done anything wrong and keeping them in power as the one to champion change makes sense.

However, if one accepts the cold admission of historic facts of 2008 to 2013 GNU then no one can ever deny that MDC leaders sold out. Worse still, MDC/CCC leaders have continued to sell out post GNU. It is easier to give Chamisa and company a clean bill of health if they are given a clean bill of health during the GNU when they had the golden opportunity to implement the reforms and hence the reason why some people are hell bent on airbrushing the GNU period out of Zimbabwe’s history.

In your revised GNU history not even one token reform was implemented because SADC had “no teeth”!

In the true historic GNU account, there is a mountain of evidence proving that MDC leaders’ failed to implement even one reform because they were and still are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. Denying MDC/CCC incompetence is as futile as one denying fossil evidence that humans evolved from apes!

Those who refuse to accept evidence are the once destined to repeat the same foolish mistakes over and over again. After 43 years of rigged elections the last 23 years of which were wasted by failing to implement reforms; if that is not proof of being stuck then I do not know what is!

  15. It is interesting to note here that SADC did give Zimbabwe an opportunity to implement the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and MDC leaders wasted it. It is also interesting to note that even after SADC and AU had condemned the 2023 elections as a farce, CCC leaders still went ahead and took up their gravy train seats thus endorsing the process as legitimate!

As David Coltart readily admitted in his book, MDC/CCC leaders have been participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed!

Dr Nevers Mumba and his SADC team did us a great favour by standing firm and condemning the August 2023 election, CCC accepted the process out of greed. The most important question here is that we desperately need to implement the democratic reforms and end this curse of rigged elections and bad governance. Can we trust CCC leaders to get these reforms finally implemented knowing these men and women sold out during the GNU and had sold out in these 2023 elections? Is it insane for Zimbabweans to trust Chamisa and company to deliver free and fair elections?

From the tone of your post you are against CCC which is why you you wished they had not participated in this elections. How does their participation affect you? Why are you against their participation?”

MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one democratic reform to stop Zanu PF rigging elections in 23 years, including 5 years in the GNU. Are you saying this was a deliberate move by Chamisa and company so that Zanu PF, at the end of the 23 years would be caught “flouting electoral and constitutional laws as cited by all Election Observer Missions and upheld by SADC”?

Zimbabwe could be a healthy and functioning democratic nation with a stable political system and growing economy if we had implemented the reforms and we have forfeited all that for the sake of catching Zanu PF “flouting electoral and constitutional laws as cited by all Election Observer Missions and upheld by SADC”!!!!!! Only a first class village idiot would not see the sheer stupidity of that argument! No wonder we are a failed state and with village idiots like you have no chance of ever getting out of this mess.

The trouble in Zimbabwe is that we have village idiots who support CCC no matter what. They cannot get into into their thick head that the MDC was elected into power to implement the democratic changes necessary to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, and MDC has not only failed to implement even one token reform but are now participating in flawed elections to perpetuate the dictatorship out of greed.

The village idiots are celebrating that CCC stopped Zanu PF getting 2/3 majority completely oblivious of the fact Zanu PF is still in power and Zimbabwe is a failed state! With all these recalls Zanu PF may still get its 2/3 majority and, no doubt, the Village idiots will have something else to celebrate, no matter how trivial!

The greatest curse for Zimbabwe is that the village idiots have the vote and it is like giving a monkey a loaded gun! Zanu PF is set to rig the 2028 elections and the village idiots will participate to give the process legitimacy and thus perpetuate the dictatorship. You cannot reason with a village idiot no more than you can reason with a monkey!

So the bottom line is that the Tshabangu saga is the problem for ED now.”

ZANU PF suggests GNU, but still, the SADC is saying CCC will recall more MPs and councilors because they are a product of sham elections.

Nonsense, are you suggesting that SADC did not know the elections were a sham until now? SADC and AU election reports made it clear the August elections were a sham and still CCC MPs, Senators and councillors went ahead and took up their gravy train seats.

These CCC leaders have known all along that the election process was flawed and participating would only give Zanu PF legitimacy and still they participated because they also knew Zanu PF was giving away a few gravy train seats. They found the bait irresistible.

If SADC was ever going to take Zanu PF to task for failing to hold free, fair and credible elections last August then credit must go to Dr Nevers Mumba and his SADC Election Observer team members whose report condemned the process as a sham. CCC members did not care that the elections were rigged as long as they got some of the gravy train seats. Nelson Chamisa and his apologists would want to promote the narrative he planned this all along. This must be dismissed with the contempt it rightly deserve.

  27. Stringent measures are being enforced at the Beitbrige border post as thousands of Zimbabweans return to South Africa after the festive season.

The Border Management Authority (BMA) said that the measures being adopted would ensure Zimbabweans returning to South Africa had the proper documentation.

It said by by Thursday nearly 40 000 people had entered the country's borders, with numbers expected to increase on Friday. More than 4 000 people had also been intercepted while attempting to illegally enter without proper documentation.

BMA commissioner Mike Masiapato said that the key focus was on documentation.

Any one with half a brain saw this was coming! Whilst ANC was prepared to prop up Zanu PF with its no regime change in Zimbabwe stance the regime was not prepared to deal with the consequences of Zimbabwe remaining a failed state.

By rigging the 2023 elections Zanu PF confirmed Zimbabwe is very much a pariah state ruled by corrupt and incompetent thugs who have to rig elections o stay in power. No one wants to do business in a pariah state and so the Zimbabwe economy has continued to sink into the abyss forcing millions of Zimbabweans to leave the country as economic and/or political refugees.

How ironic that SA has aided and abetted Zimbabwe’s economic and political decline be supporting the Zanu PF dictatorship and yet the regime is closing its border to the refugees, the victims of the dictatorship. I hope ANC is going to be booted out of office in the coming elections! ANC has been a disaster for SA and the whole SADC region.
