"Future depends on MDC/CCC finding each other to defeat Zanu PF." Who/what stopped them last 23 years? W Mukori

”As the man he has always been, @DavidColtart has maturely advised anyone opposed to ZANUPF corrupt rule to not fight to kill each other.

He realises that these opposition fights have only one beneficiary, ZANUPF,” commented Hopewell Chin’ono on his X page.

“Munochena bvudzi ZANUPF ichingotonga if you don’t reconcile your differences and engage within reason!

“Unless you are privately gaining from ZANUPF rule, any sane person would heed Coltart’s words of wisdom!”

The biggest mistake any one can make here is to believe that the likes of Chamisa, Coltart, Biti, Ncube and all the other dudes who have been in the MDC/CCC are genuine democrats much less that they will ever defeat the Zanu PF dictatorship.

These guys had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms which would have stopped Zanu PF rigging the elections during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. They failed to implement even one token reform because Mugabe bribed them and thus proving beyond all doubt that they are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent.

These MDC/CCC leaders have been participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship out of greed. It is not as if these men and women did not know and understand what is going on here. They have understood what is going on all along!

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Many Zimbabweans have continued to give Chamisa and company their unflinching political support out of ignorance and naivety. Although most Zimbabweans know about Zanu PF rigging elections and the need to implementing democratic reforms to stop the rigging; very few know what these reforms are much less how they are implemented.

So it is not surprising that many Zimbabweans have completely rejected the notion that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent. To them, all the evidence of Chamisa and company’s failure to implement any reforms during the GNU is water off a duck’s back simply. They have failed to understand what the reforms are; how can they possibly understand that the GNU was the golden opportunity to implement the reforms and MDC leaders wasted it.

MDC/CCC leaders have have taken full advantage of  the Zimbabwe electorate’s ignorance and naivety, promising the masses change to stay in power.

“That is news to me. I ceased being Treasurer General ages ago. As I wrote in my statement recently I refuse to be drawn into any zero sum game. The future of Zimbabwe depends on all genuine democrats finding each other and working jointly to defeat tyranny,” David Coltart wrote on his X page.

Coltart and his fellow opposition travellers are participating in these flawed Zimbabwe elections out of greed, as he himself confessed in his book. They failed to deliver even one token reform to stop Zanu PF rigging elections during the GNU, when they had all the trump cards including SADC’s backing; it is naive, to say the least, to think they will do so now.

Any hope of curing ourselves of the curse of rigged elections and bad governance depends on Zimbabweans finally realising MDC/CCC leaders will never implement the reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the election. Never! The penny should have dropped by now; after 23 years, including 5 in the GNU. Zimbabwe needs competent opposition leaders who will do what Chamisa and company have failed to do, implement the reforms.

  1. Al Jazeera News finds itself embroiled in controversy yet again as reports surface regarding its meddling in Zimbabwean political affairs.

A source close to the matter revealed that the news network was planning to produce a documentary that purportedly sheds shedding light on the alleged infiltration of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party by the ruling ZANU PF post-the 2023 elections, as well as the alleged capture of the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) and the Judiciary.

According to the source, Al Jazeera News has allocated a substantial budget for this project with the apparent aim of discrediting the ZANU PF Government and other Government officials.

The source disclosed that Al Jazeera News has partnered with Media Centre Director Ernest Mudzengi, tasking him with arranging interviews for participants, as well as engaging  and  freelance journalists.

"Every participant willing to discuss the alleged infiltration of CCC by ZANU PF or the capture of ZEC and the Judiciary will receive US$1000 facilitated by Mudzengi," the source revealed.

Furthermore, it was alleged that Mudzengi has been entrusted with funds by Al Jazeera News to incentivise some ZEC and Judiciary officials to participate in the documentary, either openly or discreetly.

Zanu PF was not unduly peeved by the Gold Mafia Al Jazeera documentary because there was nothing new here since looting and tyranny are the regime’s modus operandi. In like fashion, the region will not be unduly peeved if the planned documentary should reveal details of infiltration, corruption and worse.

Rest assured, Zanu PF will mount the usual concerted effort to deny the regime is not a corrupt, murderous and vote rigging regime. It has no respect for facts, truth and reality regardless of the supporting evidence. The regime will be reviewing its operations with the view of how best to cover its tracks and meanwhile the corruption, murders, vote rigging, etc. will continue.

Zanu PF will never stop the looting, vote rigging and all the other corrupt and tyrannical activities that are helping the regime retain its iron grip on power no more than a dung beetle will give up feeding on dung because many turn up the noses at the dung ball!

  2. Chamisa question on HardTalk for lying Trump promised US$15b if he won 2018 elections.

The really tragedy is Zimbabwe is not only that leaders like Chamisa are liars but that the povo have continued to believe and trust them regardless and the nation has paid dearly for this folly!

  3. Zimbabwe failure to end curse of rigged elections, especially in the last 23 years, is intrinsically linked with the country's failure to elect quality opposition leaders who would implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. We cannot remove Zanu PF from office without first getting quality opposition who will implement reforms.

After 23 years, including 5 in the GNU, and not even a token reform implemented; how many more chances will the nation give to Chamisa and company to implement reforms?

    2y + x = 7 equation (1)

    x - 2 = 3 equation (2)

What is the value of y?

y = removing Zanu PF from office
x = Zanu PF has carte blanche powers to rig elections.

  4. EXILED former Cabinet Minister Walter Mzembi has warned that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s bid for a third term is all but done based on Zanu PF caucuses and a new party slogan that indicates a certain section wants him to stay.

Zanu PF has begun campaigns that might keep him in office beyond his stipulated constitutional terms with the slogan “2030 vaMnangagwa vanenge vachipo” slowly gaining ground.

The slogan is loosely translated as “In 2030 Mnangagwa will still be in power.”

An opportunity to keep him in office beyond 2028 arose after Zanu PF attained a two-thirds majority in the lower house of Parliament.

In a tyrannical one party dictatorship where the top dog enjoys absolute power, he/she is not accountable to the party members much less the general populous, the competition to impress the great leader is intense. Now that the slogan has been started everyone will be trying to outdo everyone else in promoting it - keeping one’s job will depend on it.

Of course, Mnangagwa will pretend he knows nothing about it and when the time comes will accept the third team and pretend he was arm twisted to do so.

  5. The demolitions of poor people’s homes and other structures across the country to deal with illegal occupations of State land are mainly driven by three factors: politics, power and money.

The NewsHawks cited sources as saying President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ziyambi Ziyambi are using power and politics to create a new land market where money would be the main determinant of land occupations and settlements. One unnamed government official was quoted as saying:

The minister has made it clear to us in government what’s going on here. The land belongs to the President, which means he uses his power for its spatial distribution and his politics of patronage and loyalty influence the dynamics of it.
But in the end, money will take centre stage and the land will now be sold at market rates, creating a new land market which is driven by power and politics. It’s a symbiotic relationship.

Since the beginning of February this year, authorities have demolished houses and settlements built on land acquired illegally in peri-urban communities including, for example, Gutu and Mushandike in Masvingo province, Chipinge in Manicaland, Dema and Goromonzi in Mashonaland East and different other places.
The illegal settlers bought the land from village heads and land barons linked to ZANU PF.

The poor, who have neither the political power nor the money have been reduced into medieval serfs to be picked around like the football by those with the political power and/or money! One of the tragedies of Africa is the indifference of blacks to the suffering and deaths of follow blacks; in Zimbabwe Zanu PF has taken this indifference to a new level.

Mnangagwa and his fellow Zanu PF and, it must be said, opposition ruling elite would rather sell the nation’s resources to foreigners for a song as long as to subjugate povo and keep them in power. And now that these morons are in power, the have used the last 43 years to dig in and fortify their positions, getting them out is not going to be a walk in the park!

“U write good english, good allegations But u offer no solution or way forward. Rabble rouser orators before you AND From as early as year 2000, have assembled these allegations, repeated them again and again such that they have become monotonous and now lacks continuity

In the absence of serious opposition (as is the case with Zimbabwe) it is absurd for Zanu Pf to reform itself out of office kkkk.”

It is true that Zimbabwe is a failed nation and the root cause is the failure to hold free and fair elections. And I am a rabble rouser, a demagogue, public enemy number one, because I have dare to speak the truth and to hold those responsible for this tragic reality to account. The sheer stupidity of it all is astonishing and yet not surprising.

The other reason Zimbabwe is a failed state is because we have more than our fair share of brain-dead citizens, like you, and they have the vote!

The solution to Zimbabwe’s economic and political problem start you idiots like you realising that the present political system is not working. You have clearly failed to do so as demonstrated by you lashing out at me for saying the truth. Nothing irritates a village Idiots more than being told the truth he does not want to hear.

Parting shot, I will continued to speak the truth as I see it. I will never be bullied and bamboozled by a village idiot into silence. NEVER!

And yet it is true that Zanu PF rigged the 2023 elections because MDC/CCC sold out on reforms. You do not want it to be said but it will be said because it MUST be said!

  8. So Chamisa brought back Mwonzora and Ncube back into MDC A knowing fully well that they are disruptive for the sake of a united opposition only to get a chaotic and dysfunction party. So dysfunctional that he has had to give up MDC A and start a new party CCC. He repeated the same foolishness of bring in disruptive character and was forced to resign from CCC in a huff. He has shown that he has the knack for making stupid decisions in other areas too.

Chamisa participated in the 2018 elections claiming “MDC A has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!” His followers believed hims and they participating in the flawed elections only to give the vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. He repeated the same foolishness claiming he had plugged all the Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes. Again, the herd believed him and landed the nation in this mess!

Chamisa has proven beyond all doubt that he is corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless. He will never ever implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. How any one can still consider him the best foot forward for Zimbabwe only goes to show how shallow, thick and slow they are.

Zimbabwe is not going to get out of the hell-hole we are in by repeating the same foolishness of following corrupt and incompetent leaders, hoping and against reason for a miracle.

Chamisa's blundering incompetence has allowed Zanu PF to rig the elections dragging the nation deeper and deeper into this hell-on-earth and all you can say is "OK"? No wonder Zimbabwe is in a mess, we really have some brain dead citizens!

  10. A tractor imported from Belarus failed to start at Mushagashe Youth Vocational Training Centre during the Robert Mugabe National Youth Day commemorations on Wednesday with President Emmerson Mnangagwa behind the wheel.

Mnangagwa, who donated the tractor, was behind the wheel when the vehicle failed to start, much to the embarrassment of his aides.

The tractor was reportedly received from Belarus.

It took three people to try to start the tractor and still they could not do it. And the tractor in brand new! No doubt it was winched every where from the day it left the factory.

No doubt Mnangagwa himself, Number One, was involved in this procurement deal and his cut was added last and doubled the price! Make no mistake about it the nation paid an arm and a leg for the junk - this is what makes corruption so sickening it does not come cheap!

You are right! After paying the US$10 to 12 b it would not be surprising it would take decades to build and a few decades latter it will start falling apart. The other day Mnangagwa could not even start a brand new tractor. This is the tragedy with corrupt you pay an arm and leg in terms of time and money, for junk!

I would not be surprised if the decision to decommission the bridge was forced on the nation because decades of poor maintenance and neglect - a common cause for the rot and decay in Zimbabwe today!

We need a competent opposition to implement the reforms. It is insane to continue trusting MDC/CCC leaders to implement the reforms when they have failed to do so these last 23 years, including 5 in the GNU.

It is tragic that 43 years after independence, in this day and age, we are still failing to hold free, fair and credible elections. A damning testimonial to our failure to govern ourselves!

MDC/CCC failed to implement the reforms even when they had the golden opportunity to do so during the GNU because they are corrupt and incompetent. Or do you think they did not implement the reforms because it “was Zanu PF’s responsibility” to do so.

Thanks to CCC, Zanu PF now has a super majority in parliament and will easily get the 2/3 in the senate and so can change the constitution as they damn well please!

You are the one who has been calling Chamisa “Change Champion in Chief!” so what changes has he ever brought? This Chamisa Chete Chete, cult of personality, mentality is for those who are incapable of thinking for themselves and is what has made Zimbabwe a failed state.

  19. Anonymous members of Parliament have stated that they would only pass the bill if their demands were met, including the provision of residential stands and money for development. One legislator from Mashonaland West stated, "We will definitely give him (ED) that chance as long as we are happy." Another CCC legislator claimed that opposition MPs would agree to any offer that improves their lives, such as the provision of stands, motor vehicles, and loans.

In the past, MPs were given a $40,000 loan and other benefits during the 9th Parliament, which was seen as a way to reduce political polarization and increase President Mnangagwa's chances of winning the presidency. However, opposition leader Nelson Chamisa criticized the move as a bribe to the Members of Parliament, leading to internal tensions within his own party.

Reliable sources have revealed that this time, MPs are expected to receive over $150,000, a car loan, serviced stands, and two duty-free certificates for vehicle imports. Additionally, their salaries would be increased to match the scale of other critical state services.

This is comes as no surprise, this is not the first time that politicians have been bribed and they have willingly taken the bribes and have equally willingly done Mugabe and now Mnangagwa’s bidding!

We should stop pretending that Zimbabwe is a democratic country for all out state institutions have been captured; Police, Army, ZEC, judiciary, etc. They are all Zanu PF departments in all but name. Parliament too is but just another Zanu PF department. The MPs, Senators and ministers will do whatever they are asked to do or be it they will see this as a golden opportunity to have their palms greased, again.

"Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!" (MDC leaders have learned to enjoy the gravy train good-life; they will not rock the boat!) boasted a Zanu PF crony when asked why MDC leaders were not implementing the democratic reforms during the GNU. Of course, the crony was right and was talking from first hand experience for Mugabe had bribed Zanu PF leaders turning them into his concubines, "vakadzi vaMugabe" as Margaret Dongo acidly put it.

Mnangagwa has a super majority in parliament and is just one short of a 2/3 majority in the senator (no doubt Sengezo Tshabangu or one of the other CCC Tshabangu senators will give him that 2/3); he can change the law to allow him to have third presidential term. The politicians, on both sides of the divide, are naming the price to support him. This is comes as no surprise, this is not the first time that politicians have been bribed and they have willingly taken the bribes and have equally willingly done Mugabe and now Mnangagwa’s bidding!
