"CCC must be antithesis of autocratic Zanu PF" said Professor Ncube. True. My beef is why you sold out of free election. W Mukori

“You cannot run an authoritarian and autocratic opposition and once in government run a democratic system,” Professor Welshman Ncube, acting CCC President, told local journalist Zenzele Ndebele in a video posted in Bulawayo 24.  “The opposition should be the antithesis of what Zanu PF is and not to be like them.”

No one in his or her right mind can help but salute that view.

Professor Ncube denied that he and Tendai Biti worked with Sengezo Tshabangu in orchestrating the recall of elected CCC officials, root cause of the party’s self destruct implosion. “Tshabangu was his own man!” he argued.

I believe Professor Ncube’s version of the story but it is all academic because there can be no doubt now that the self-destruct button has been pushed these former MDC/CCC colleagues are out to destroy each other and Zimbabwe’s opposition - up to now it was feeble and useless and now it is a curse to the nation.

The principle beneficiary of CCC imploding is Zanu PF, the party has already won more parliamentary seats following the Tshabangu recalls to give the party a super majority. The party will do as it damn well pleases and has already started flexing its muscles.

Zanu PF has booted hundreds of thousands of families off the land without even granting them reasonable notices. The regime claims these are squatters; it is almost certain most of these people did not vote for the regime in the 2023 rigged elections and the regime is punishing them for it.

CCC participated in the flawed 2023 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and now the opposition leaders have been busy fighting each other they are not even there to voice against Zanu PF lawlessness and barbarism.

My beef with Professor Ncube is he and his MDC/CCC friends have not only fail to implement even one democratic reform to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections but have participated in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. Of course, they knew exactly what they are dong!

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

The truth is Nelson Chamisa, Tendai Biti, Welshman Ncube, etc., etc. are all corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless; they have proven this beyond all reasonable doubt. The only reason why they are still playing a major role in shaping the country’s destiny is because the Zimbabwe masses are ignorant, thick and slow.

The people of Zimbabwe have risked life, limb and livelihoods to elect MDC/CCC leaders into power on the understanding the leaders would implement the democratic reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship, in particular, end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance. After 23 years including 5 years in the GNU, MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform. Why the penny has not dropped that Professor Ncube and his colleagues are corrupt and useless after two decades of selling out, beggars belief.

Zimbabwe is a failed state and as long as Zanu PF retain its dictatorial powers to rig elections nothing, absolutely nothing will change. The number one challenge, for get out of this hell-on-earth, is to implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections.

After 23 years it is clear, MDC/CCC leaders have failed to carry out this important task; we must find other men and women who will! Why this is simple and obvious conclusion has remain incomprehensible is a damning testimonial to many of our people’s failure the to follow simple argument and to think for themselves.

Povo are their own worst enemy because, in their ignorance and naivety, they are the ones keeping MDC/CCC leaders in power who, in turn, are keeping Zanu PF in power and perpetuating the suffering of the masses.

  1. Professor Welshman Ncube said Chamisa was a an autocratic leader and the reconstituted CCC will restore the party's democratic values.

What the nation wants to know is why has MDC/CCC has failed to implement even one token democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections these last 24 years including 5 in the 2008 to 2013 GNU? The opposition's number one task was and still is to implement reforms and thus end the curse of rigged the elections and bad governance.

  2. In a wide-ranging interview with Bulawayo-based online news channel CITE, Ncube indirectly took a dig at Chamisa's leadership style, which he said created the crisis bedevilling the opposition.

"We got here because we now had a situation where(by) collectively, the democratic collective leadership no longer worked as one and we were unable to meet as elected individuals, as elected leadership, to address the challenges that we were facing," he said.

Ncube said there were fundamental differences in the party, with key meetings and other platforms for engagement suspended.

"We had suspended meetings of the national council. Some of us believe that we are fighting Zanu-PF which is authoritarian, which is undemocratic and which has one centre of power. We must demonstrate that we are the opposite of Zanu-PF," he said.

"We must do while in opposition things we are expected to do when we get into government, not running an autocratic, an authoritarian, theocratic opposition then expect sincere genuine people to believe that once in power, you no longer believe in autocracy and theocracy.

"These are the differences we had in opposition.”

There is no denying that Chamisa was running CCC as a one-man band. Sadly, the are some die-hard Chamisa Chete Chete out there who have no respect for truth, facts and realty and will be out defending the indefensible.

What is of real concern to me is that MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one democratic reforms in 23 years, including the 2008 to 2013 GNU, and hence the reason why Zanu PF has continued to blatantly rig the elections. The implosion in CCC we are witness now has all but destroyed the little the opposition in the country and leaving Zanu PF more powerful and arrogant as ever!

That is rich coming from the village idiot who was conned into participating in flawed 2023 elections believing Chamisa had plugged all the vote rigging loop holes! The idiot does not have the common sense to realise his folly even now with the benefit of hindsight!

It is Zimbabwe's great tragedy that we have millions of idiots like you and, to crown it all, you have the vote! It is little wonder we are a failed state and, seeing your brain has ossified into fat, are doomed to reman a failed state for all times.

You are just a village idiot who was conned by Chamisa into believe the lie he had plugged all the vote rigging loop holes. It would be irresponsible for me to abandon reforms to please a village idiot!

How does one agree to disagree with someone so ignorant and gullible they believe idiotic lies like "I have plugged all the vote rigging loop holes". When the nation does not even have a verified voters' roll.

The ancient Greeks were right all those 2 500 years ago that democracy - government of the people by the people and for the people - only works when the said people are educated, informed and diligent in holding those in public office to account. We not only have an ignorant and naive electorate but many are so thoroughly brainwashed they consider leaders to be infallible demigods who must not be held to account by mere mortals. You cannot reason with these morons and the politicians have exploited this weakness to create the dictatorships and cult of personality we have today.

I have been insulted for pointing out that participating in the flawed 2023 elections was foolish since it will only give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. I warned the people that Chamisa’s promise to plug all the vote rigging loop holes was idiotic nonsense. Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 2023 elections and the herd was even more furious with me because events had proven me right! Such is the temperament of many of our people, you cannot reason with some one whose brain has ossified into fat!

  9. If you are going to give a running commentary about how Chamisa cares about the people then please explain why he and his MDC/CCC friends have failed to implement even one token reform to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections these last 23 years. Stopping Zanu PF rigging is the number one task the nation wanted the opposition to do because nothing of substance can ever be accomplished as long as Zanu PF remains in power!

Journalists should inform and educate the people all this Rumbidzai TV has ever done is brainwash the people with its cult of personality Chamisa propaganda!

On the contrary, both SADC and AU election observers condemned the 2023 elections as flawed and illegal confirming Chamisa’s claim to have plugged all the vote rigging loop holes was just hot air!

This is not about supporting “your preferred politician”, you nincompoop. This is about holding those in public office to account especially when they are dragging the nation deeper and deeper into the abyss. Zimbabwe is a failed state and millions of our people are living in abject poverty because our political leaders are corrupt, incompetent and, in the case of Zanu PF, vote rigging murderous thugs!

I also feel Komichi is a rare breed by standing face to face with the lion refusing the rigged result….”

The present political system has failed to produce quality leaders because it geared to produce thugs and sell-outs. The present political system can be compared to a dam whose water has been contaminated so much so it is now a sewage pond. You will never ever catch quality fish in the sewage pond, they all died years ago. You will catch frogs and catfish.

What Zimbabwe needs is to implement the democratic reforms that have stifled public debate and democratic discourse and competition. Drain the sewage pond and refill it with clean oxygenated water so fish can survive and thrive.

Chamisa and company will never implement the reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections; they failed to do so during the 2008 to 2013 GNU it is naive, to say the least, to think they will do so now. Zanu PF will never ever reform itself out of office. And so there will be no meaningful change without first implementing the reforms.

“The opposition must strategically position itself as the next government in waiting, deflate the regime's political bubble and its hegemony. It must aim to cut its umbilical cord which has caused untold suffering to the masses. What is needed right now is a very strong opposition which must put a final nail to the already limping Zanu PF government.
Currently the opposition is in disarray, disjointed, divided, disintegrated and fragile. There is still room to unite and build a very strong movement. Politics is a game of numbers and it is unfortunate that if people leave a political party which is however voluntary, end up throwing tantrums to the former as soon as they leave after losing either through primary or secondary elections.”

You talk of “what is needed right now is a very strong opposition which must put a final nail to the already limping Zanu PF”. Only to readily admit that the current oppositions is “in disarray and disjointed”, so disjointed that it is Zanu PF that is cashing in on the opposition’s weaknesses.
The truth is the present political system will never produce a competent opposition. Never! What Zimbabwe needs is an opposition that is smart enough to know nothing of substance will ever be accomplish without implementing the reforms and thus will focus on getting the reform implemented.
Chamisa and company have all but given up on implementing reforms, they been claiming to have all manner of winning rigged elections strategies. 16. Until a few weeks ago the nation was still brainwashed into believing that Chamisa was the nation's saviour. The last few weeks has provided so hard lessons but we are a nation that refuses to learn.
He conned the people into participating in the flawed 2023 elections claiming CCC would win big. He had plugged all the Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes. "God is in it!" All CCC did was participate giving vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.
SADC condemned the August 2023 election as a farce but was helpless to deny Zanu PF legitimacy.
Ever since the Sengezo Tshabangu initiated recall of CCC leaders the party has imploded. The faction Chamisa abandon is being depicted as a Yellow Combi with no engine whilst the faction going with Chamisa is a modern well oiled Blue Bus. There is no evidence to prove the same Chamisa who had only managed to have the Yellow Combi that got absolutely nowhere has been transformed overnight to now be the proud owner of the Blue Bus.
The truth is CCC accomplished nothing just like the MDC before it because Chamisa and company are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. The big Blue Bus is just wishful thinking because Chamisa is still the same corrupt and incompetent individual and has not had any Road to Damascus transformative moment.
The tragedy here is the Zimbabwe populous, in their ignorance and desperation, have once again swallowed the hook, line and sink that Chamisa is the nation’s saviour. After 23 years with not even a token reform implemented and still they believe in Chamisa blindly! Well they certainly deserve to suffer.
All those who would not learn for the past are doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again and pay dearly for their folly. Zimbabweans are refusing to learn and, per se, deserve to suffer.

SADC has confirmed the body is preparing for Mnangagwa to take over as chairman of the regional body. All talks of fresh elections have been forgotten.
There are three main reasons why SADC did not deny Zanu PF political legitimacy and thus call for refresh elections or a new GNU even though the region body has accepted Zanu PF rigged the 23 and 24 August 2023 elections:
    1) The opposition claimed it was going to win big and conned ordinary Zimbabweans in participating in numbers with such promises as “I have plugged all Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes!” by Chamisa. “God is in it!”
    2) CCC winning candidates took up their gravy train seats even though SADC and the AU had ruled the election were flawed and illegal. By defying SADC CCC leaders were sending a clear message, the elections were free, fair and credible and it would have been an outrage for SADC to defy what the Zimbabweans themselves were saying.
    3) Soon after the election results were out Sengezo Tshabangu started recalling elected CCC leaders, firing the first volley in inter-party war for the gravy train seats. CCC has since imploded. It would have been utterly pointless for SADC to deny Zanu PF legitimacy when it was clear there was no opposition to Zanu PF rule!

Spot on Brett, with no title deeds to the land you are nothing but a medieval serf at the mercy of the overbearing Land Lord.
Most of the recent land evictions in Zimbabwe are Zanu PF thugs punishing the electorate because the regime knows those people did not vote for Zanu PF in last August's elections. The regime rigged to stay in power and, one might say, to punish those who did not vote for the regime so next time they do not dare repeat the mistake.
So getting the title deeds will also secure you right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. The right to own land will open the door to restoring many other freedoms and rights!
