Chibaya and Siziba addressed same Mutare meeting and yet even they disagree what it was about. Strategic ambiguity backfiring once again! W Mukori

”Amos Chibaya yesterday told NewsDay that a meeting held in Mutare over the weekend was not an inaugural mobilisation programme amid claims by some Chamisa loyalists that they were excluded from the meeting,” reported Bulawayo 24.

“Chibaya said he organised the Mutare caucus on behalf of CCC despite former party deputy national spokesperson and legislator Gift Siziba telling NewsDay that the meeting was a move towards the establishment of a new party.

“The meeting, however, attracted the wrath of some Chamisa's loyalists who alleged that they were not informed of the meeting.

“Chibaya and Siziba addressed party supporters in Mutare during the weekend.”

Here we go, there is not only CCC factional fighting but even within the same faction there is fighting. How can Chibaya and Siziba have contradicting version of purpose of the meeting they both address!

MDC/CCC leaders proved they were corrupt and incompetent when the failed to implement even one token reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. The only reason why they have remained in public office is because we have an electorate who are dumb, thick and slow; they have no clue what the GNU was about and so all the evidence of corruption and incompetence was water off a duck’s back.

Now that the CCC factional war has been declared, there is no going back and they idiots will be at each other’s throat for months if not years to come. They don’t even know that in the confusion of the recalls Zanu PF is taking away the few gravy train seats they are fighting over! Zanu PF has 2/3 majority thanks to the recalls and soon will have an unassailable super majority!

God only knows what the regime will do with its super majority and all because Zimbabweans did not have the common sense to elect competent opposition who would implement the reforms even after MDC/CCC failed to implement even one token reform in 23 years!

Worse still, there is no sign that the penny has finally dropped in the wildebeest herd’s head. There is no sign the euphoric of Chamisa Chete Chete dying down!

What matters for the ordinary Zimbabwean out there is that there will be no meaningful democratic reforms implemented in the coming five years and so Zanu PF is going to blatantly rig the 2028 elections to perpetuate the dictatorship, the failed state, and the suffering and death of the masses.

It pays in the end to get the best in the beginning, so goes the old adage. How prophetic!

We were not diligent in selecting Zanu PF as the nation’s liberation heroes because Mugabe and his cronies saw this as an opportunity to remove the white colonial oppressors only to take over and become the new oppressors.

The Zanu PF thugs did not honour the “One man, one vote!” rallying call of the liberation days in 1980 under the pretext they did not trust the British to hold free, fair and credible elections. The people were told if Zanu PF did not win the election the bush war would continue. Of course, the people voted to end the war. And the number one task Mugabe did as soon as he got into power was to consolidate Zanu PF’s iron grip on power by imposing a de facto one-party, Zanu PF, dictatorship.

The nation’s plan B was to elect opposition leaders who would implement the necessary democratic changes to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. The people of Zimbabwe have risked livelihoods, limbs and even their very lives, from the wrath of the tyrannical Zanu PF thugs, to elect the late Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC/CCC friends on the understanding they would implement the required reforms.

MDC/CCC leaders have not only failed to implement even one reform in 23 years but, worst of all, they have been participating in flawed election to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuate the dictatorship.

After the treasonous betrayal by Zanu PF, the people should have been more careful in their selection of the opposition for plane B. Alas! They were not careful and now the nation is stuck with a tyrannical and belligerent Zanu PF kept in power by the corrupt and utterly useless CCC opposition. The people themselves are confused and in their desperation they continue to put their trust in the corrupt and useless opposition. This is the stuff nightmares are mad of!

Other than getting the masses to open their eyes and minds and accept CCC leaders will never implement the reforms and to elect competent opposition leaders who will implement the reforms; there is no plan C. How does one get the panicked, confused and desperate masses to open their eyes and minds, is the million dollar question!

Do you know where you are, how you got there and where you are going?

Without first answering the about you will be going round and round in circles!

If you finally understood and accepted that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent, for example, you would not be asking “what is the way forward”? Only a village idiot would need to be told that he/she should stop following leaders they know are corrupt and incompetent.

I for one, would not wast my time telling the village idiot the obvious because if he/she cannot see it for themselves telling them will only get their backs up in defence of Chamisa Chete Chete! I have gone down that path often enough to know it is a waste of time reasoning with a village idiot!

“Mukori if you think you are better and you are the smartest person than Chamisa just step up and lead stop making noise here , since last year before elections your posting all this nonsense of yours, some of us we are tired of it, reading one thing for the past 6months.”

Other than making noise I have not had any hand in dragging the nation into this hell-on-earth but those who have been in positions of power and authority like Zanu PF and CCC leaders have landed us into this mess. It is more rational to focus on those in power in our search for a way out of this hell. Why are you obsessed about me?

I know why you are obsessed about me. I have dared to say Zimbabwe is a failed state because Zanu PF has been allowed to rig elections and perpetuate the dictatorship because the MDC/CCC leaders elected to implement the reforms sold out. You do not want that truth to be told.

I will say it from the rooftops because this is the truth people must hear if Zimbabwe is ever going to get out of this mess. You don’t want me to say it but are helpless to stop me saying it!

I am tired of seeing Zimbabwe being dragged deeper and deeper into the abyss by corrupt and incompetent idiots like Chamisa and village idiots like you blindly supporting him! The insanity must and will be stopped. Village idiots like you will NOT have the last say on this matter; I will!

History will remember Thabani Mpofu as the idiot who led Chamisa’s legal team in the 2018 presidential result challenge. The team was so incompetent they did not even ask for the sealed ballot boxes of the 12 Polling Station in which the result of two Polling Station were exactly the same and the obvious explanation was these were duplicate entries. It was none other than Mpofu who did not want the boxes to be opened for “fear of contaminated source”! The sheer stupidity of the argument beggared belief!

“No they did not. All that they did managed to lay bare what sort of predicament the peaceful people of Zimbabwe are in which you apparently don't see. Let us say the had not get into parliament what positive result would that have achieved.”

SADC and AU election observers had condemned the 2023 elections as a farce and by CCC members taking up their gravy train seats they endorsed the process as free and fair.

Forget the nonsense from idiots like Tendai Biti who argued that the elections in the areas CCC had won were free and fair but were rigged everywhere else. Elections are judge on the process and not on results and work backwards!

SADC leaders were powerless to deny Zanu PF legitimacy when Zimbabweans themselves, as represented by the opposition and their fanatical but stupid supporters, accept the process as free and fair. If CCC had not sold out by insisting in participating in flawed elections and then taking up the gravy train seats SADC will have denied Zanu PF legitimacy!

“Strategically not going to parliament would send the message even more clearer that peaceful Zimbabweans are in trouble.
It would also show that the opposition leaders are willing to sacrifice and stand with the people. It would also show the regime that any sham election will not be sanitized by attending a shameless institution presided over by a rigging president.
There are many potential achievables hence now NC has seen this and withdrawn from any association with the status quo.”

I agree with you expect for the last bit. Chamisa’s resigning now will only help strengthen Zanu PF. The damage was done by participating in the flawed elections and taking up the gravy train seats. The recalls and what has followed after that are Chamisa and CCC’s internal problems spilling out into the open; no one is their right mind are blaming Zanu PF and it is naive to expect Zanu PF not to take advantage of the chaos.

“How do you implement a reform on something you don't have control?

Your question is misdirected. It should be directed to those who control the levers of power. Again it's not even relevant coz you can't expect those with power to reform themselves out of power.”

So you do not know of the 2008 to 2013 GNU or what is was about, even now with the benefit of hindsight! And you had the vote.

Universal suffrage should have been a blessing but in a country with so many people who cannot think for themselves, it has become a curse. It is the ignorant, in their stupidity, who have elected buffoons into power and are keeping them in power!

    2. Strategy Ambiguity has caused chaos, greed, uncertainty, power squabbles, and division among ourselves. As opposition leaders, we have to own up for our mistakes. Unfortunately, the biggest beneficiary to all this chaos is the Zanu PF regime, rendering us sitting ducks in the midst of heavy artillery fire.
    3. We @zsd_party implore our opposition leaders sit behind closed doors, iron out our differences, and map the way forward (in the spirit of peace and unity).
    4. We can not win the war against Zanu PF divided, without unity of purpose. We need to find each other and engage for the sake of the diminishing lives of our people. History has taught us that, no one person is the fountain of ideas. We need to fight as a team, and only a collective effort will dismantle Zanu PF from power.

So you think Chamisa and company are demigods who who must not be held to democratic account after selling out? What an idiot! They participated in the flawed 2023 elections and, as we all know, Zanu PF blatantly rigged the elections. I am more concerned about the right thing and not about what the mob is doing!

I do realise, of course, that there are some amongst us who do not have the intellect to know discern facts from fiction, good from bad, etc. and they have to go with the mob. The mob was fooled into giving Zanu PF legitimacy but all that counts for nothing as far as you are concerned.

After 43 years of rigged elections one had hoped that the penny has finally dropped, people like you would begin to see the value of facts, truth and reality as contrast to mob rule. Alas! the mud is too thick!

There are those who believe if you do not support Zanu PF you must support CCC and vice versa. Zimbabwe is a failed state and to get out we must implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. Zanu PF will never implement the reforms because it will never reform itself out of power. MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, including 5 in the GNU.

The only solution is to elect an opposition that will implement the reforms but getting that message through has been mission impossible. Why?

We have the CCC wildebeest herd who have the intellect of wildebeest - hardwired to follow the bum in front, no questioned asked. MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform in 23 years because they are corrupt and incompetent, but that is all water off a duck’s back to our hardwired herd. Indeed, they are programmed to dismiss all the evidence of CCC’s failures and betrayals as Zanu PF propaganda from Zanu PF.

“Mukori is not Zanu PF. Read his posts zve rigging, failed state etc.” you said. The herd will ignored that and will even accuse you of being a Zanu PF supporter for saying it.

Zimbabwe is a failed state and one of the main reason why is because we have an ignorant, naive and gullible electorate. Democracy - government of the people, for the people and by the people - does not work if the said people can hardly tell the difference between their right hand from the left!

43 years after independence and we are failing to hold free, fair and credible elections all because we, as a nation, have failed to think there is life beyond Zanu PF and CCC! We have failed to think outside the box of binary politics. It is really sad!

Manje in life kutaurirwa kuti une cancer zvitori nani than not knowing. It's bad news iri factual inokupa chance yekurapwa.”

Robert Mugabe and his cronies betrayed the nation to satisfy their insatiable appetites for power and wealth. What is there to love in that?

It is worse! The cancer that is killing the nation is Zanu PF rigging the elections. It was agreed back in the late 1990s that the cure was to implement the reforms designed to to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. Zanu pF rigged the 2023 elections precisely because not even one token reform was implemented these last 23 years, including 5 in the GNU.

The obvious line of inquiry should be why has the nation failed to implement even one reform and, more pointedly, let's get people who will implement the reforms. All attempts to accept the reality of MDC/CCC failure to implement reforms much less to appoint the competent replacement are stifled by MDC and their fanatical supporters who are loathed to admit they are corrupt and incompetent.

After 23 years and not even one reform in place and people still fail to acknowledge CCC have sold out - that is simply unbelievable! Of course, we deserve to be a failed state and suffer for our folly!

Condemning Shona speaking in Matebeleland areas.

Moyo has played a major role in helping Zanu PF consolidate it's de facto one party dictatorship and during the GNU, when the country had its best chance ever to dismantle the system, he was in the Zanu PF camp and, like the rest in the party, rubbed his hands in glean as MDC leaders did nothing to implement reforms.

“Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” some of the Zanu PF cronies boasted when asked why MDC leaders were not implementing reforms.

When Patrick Chinamasa announced that Zanu PF was going to ignore SADC leaders’ plea to postpone the July 2013 elections to allow for reforms to be implemented because “there were no outstanding reforms.” MDC leaders had failed to table even one reform proposal in five years! Professor Jonathan Moyo sat next to Chinamasa at that press conference - proof he knew and understood the implications of MDC’s failure to implement even one reform during the GNU.

Ever since Professor J Moyo lost his lofty position of power and authority in Zanu PF he has become a champion of justice, freedom and human rights in Zimbabwe. My beef with him and many others who have done the same, is Why did you not do this when you were in power? This is the kind of hypocrisy and opportunism that no nation should never tolerate because it is the mother of sell-out!

  18. SADC TO SUPERVISE PREPARATIONS FOR FRESH ELECTIONS IN ZIMBABWE

“In the modern era, a banana republic can be a state where the majority are severely oppressed and exploited by a small ruling class.

As a result, there is widespread persecution and subjugation of any voices of dissent that may seek to speak out and stand up for the suffering citizenry.

This is exactly what we witness, in utter shock and disgust, taking place right here in Zimbabwe.

As it turned out, Chin'ono was acquitted on 28th April 2021, after High Court judge Justice Charewa declared that the crime of which he was being accused was no longer part of Zimbabwean law.

Section 31(a) (iii) of the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act  [Chapter 9:23] was struck off the statute books by the Constitution Court in October 2013.

In other words, there is no offense called 'publishing or communicating false statements prejudicial to the State' in Zimbabwe.

So, after such a clear and unambiguous ruling by a senior court, on what grounds, on God's green earth, did Magistrate Chakanyuka find Sikhala guilty of the same non-existent offense?”

Zimbabwe is indeed a banana republic and millions of ordinary Zimbabwean are suffering the consequences of living in a banana republic and all because of the insatiable greed of a few for absolute power wealth and influence.

In the early 1980s Japanese writer, Ken Yamamoto, said Zimbabwe had the potential to become the South Korea of Africa - just, peaceful and economically prosperous. We had the rich natural resources and all we needed to fulfil the South Korea of Africa destiny - was good, competent and visionary leaders. Alas! We had the exact opposite - corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical thugs.
Ironically Zanu PF thugs befriended North Korea for no other reason than to copy their tyrannical one-party dictatorship and replicate it in Zimbabwe. The die was cast and so was our fate as a failed state.

The nation has had many golden opportunities to implement the democratic reform and stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. It is a great pity that the MDC/CCC leaders have wasted the opportunities because they are corrupt and incompetent. And to crown our tragic tale, the people ourselves have become our own worst enemy by failing to realise that MDC/CCC leaders would never implement the reforms even now after 23 years.

So Zimbabwe is a banana republic because we have corrupt and murderous Zanu PF thugs, corrupt and utterly useless opposition leaders and to crown it all an ignorant and naive electorate. And unless we, the people, wake up and elect a competent opposition; Zimbabwe will remain a banana republic for generations!

“A 2/3 majority threshold in the Senate is 53. So, with 32 seats in the Senate, Zanu-PF is way below the 2/3 majority threshold in the Senate.

The total constitutional composition of the Senate is 80, including 60 (6 from each of the 10 Provinces), 16 Chiefs (i.e., 2 from each of the 8 non-Metropolitan Provinces), and 2 (the President and Deputy President of the National Council of Chiefs), plus 2 representing persons with disabilities. Even if an assumption is made that on a given issue all 18 Chiefs support the position of the Ruling Party and decide to vote with Zanu-PF Senators, that too will not achieve a 2/3 majority for Zanu-PF, as this will still fall short of the 2/3 majority threshold in the Senate by 3-4.

To drive home the point I am making, Zanu-PF has not achieved a 2/3 majority in Parliament, contrary to what is being peddled on social media. To attain a 2/3 majority, a party must command a 2/3 majority in each of the 2 Houses of Parliament. To pass a Constitutional Bill a party requires the affirmative votes of 2/3 of the membership of each House (see Section 328(5) of the National Constitution).

Those who have eyes, let them "eye," and those who have ears, let them "ear." Nokuti hatigoni kurega kutaura zvatakaona nezvotakanzwa.”

What Chinamasa wittering about, “Zanu PF does not have 2/3 majority in the senate!”

The infighting in CCC is far from over and so they will be more by-elections and thus an opportunity for Zanu PF to increase its MPs beyond the present 190 giving the party a super majority.

Yes, one can see that the recalls are not going to change the arithmetic in the senate since the numbers were fixed on the basis of the August 2023 elections results. But contrary to Chinamasa’s misleading claim above, Zanu PF already has 52 senators in the bag (32 Zanu PF, 18 Chiefs plus 2 representing persons with disabilities) and so the party is only 1 short of the 53 and 2/3 majority.

Most, if not all, of the 28 CCC senators will be aligned to the Sengezo Tshabangu faction since it has retain the name CCC, as far as parliament and the Courts are concerned. It is inconceivable that Zanu PF will fail to get just one of these already compromised, given the mess in fighting, CCC senators to vote with Zanu PF when push comes to shove, given the party’s economic muscle!

On paper Zanu PF is one short to achieve 2/3 majority in the senate but in practice we all know it will have the 2/3 majority any day!

Instead of leading the country to ruin, he has transformed Zimbabwe into a beacon of democracy, moving away from autocratic governance. Upon taking office in 2017, Mnangagwa promised a new era of proactive leadership.

Breaking free from the legacy of his predecessors, Mnangagwa has charted a new course for Zimbabwe, earning widespread recognition. His leadership, marked by significant achievements in a relatively short period, warranted his re-election in 2023, silencing critics and proving his unstoppable political momentum.”

Dr Mavaza has no respect of the truth, facts and most significantly the suffering and death of others. If the facts on the ground contradict his narrative he simply ignores them and invent stories to suit his narrative.

Zimbabwe has the highest inflation rate in the world at over 1300% - a common indicator the country’s currency and economy are in serious trouble. Why is the economic prosperity Mnangagwa has brought?

The country has just held elections give months ago and all the election observers including AU, SADC and even Zimbabwe’s own ZHRC has condemned the process as a farce. Where does Mavaza get the idea Zimbabwe is “a beacon of democracy” from?

One of the tragic reality about Zimbabwe is the number of intellectuals who have lied, cheated and worse all in pursuit of propped up the Zanu PF dictatorship. There is simply nothing in this world some people will not do to please those in positions of power and authority.

I do remember Dr Mazava doing anything else but praise Robert Mugabe but now the murderous tyrant is out of favour with the new ruling elite Mavaza writes of “moving away from autocratic governance”. The irony is Zimbabwe is still a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent and vote rigging thugs; nothing has changed. The November 2017 military coup was nothing more than a musical chairs game, the country got a new dictator and a few new faces at the top table otherwise the dictatorship remained untouched!

  29. Details have surfaced shedding light on why Bulawayo Mayor, David Coltart has adamantly refused to step down from his position in solidarity with the former Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader, Nelson Chamisa.
A source close to the matter, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed to this publication that Coltart's decision may be financially motivated.

According to the source, Coltart is benefiting from substantial monetary allowances provided by the Bulawayo City Council (BCC), which he is reluctant to relinquish.
The source disclosed, "The Mayor is receiving significant perks from the council, including hefty monetary allowances. It seems he is unwilling to part ways with such lucrative benefits."
The source further elaborated that Coltart enjoyed additional privileges, such as travel and subsistence allowances.

The bottom line is Coltart contested the 23 August 2023 for the same reason he contested other elections in the past - greed. He knew the election was flawed and that participating would give Zanu PG legitimacy and yet still he contested because he was after the few gravy train seats Zanu PF gives away. He cannot deny if because he confessed as much in his own book.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Many people have chosen to believe Coltart’s lie that he is staying as mayor because the people of Bulawayo have asked him to stay and he cares about them. Since when has participating in a flawed process to perpetuate the dictatorship and the people’s suffering is proof one cares about the people!

Coltart, just like the rest of the MDC/CCC leaders have taken advantage of the public, particularly the CCC herd, who have no clue what is going on here. MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent and the nation should have appointed more competent opposition to implement the reforms and stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. The people are ignorant and naive and have retained CCC and they are paying dearly for it!
