Chamisa is demanding SADC to revisit 2023 rigged elections. He is just wasting time - something we can ill afford. Wilbert Mukori

Chamisa & Co. are up to their favourite pass-time - whining endlessly over trivial matters and wasting everyone’s time!

“The upcoming Southern African Development Community (SADC) Summit in Harare is seen by the opposition Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) as a crucial opportunity to address the disputed outcome of Zimbabwe's August 2023 presidential elections. The CCC claims that the election, which resulted in a narrow victory for President Emmerson Mnangagwa of Zanu-PF, was marred by fraud, with former CCC leader Nelson Chamisa alleging the process was rigged,” reported New Zimbabwe.

“CCC spokesperson Promise Mkwananzi expressed hope that SADC's intervention could resolve the political stalemate and restore legitimacy to the Zimbabwean government, which the CCC views as illegitimate. Mkwananzi urged SADC to prioritize the election dispute on its agenda and facilitate dialogue between Chamisa and Mnangagwa to reach a political settlement.”

This is nonsense but coming from Chamisa and company it is no surprise to hear it; the nation has learned to expect nonsense from this lot.

Of course, Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 2023 elections but did so with the connivance of none other than Chamisa and company! First, MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement ever one token reform in 24 years including the 5 years in the GNU.

Second, ever since the GNU debacle they have participated in flawed elections knowing fully well that Zanu PF was rigging and that participating would give the regime legitimacy. They have soldiered on regardless because they also knew that the regime was giving away a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate no matter how flawed the process got.

For once, Chamisa led from claiming “I have plugged all vote rigging loop holes. #Godisinit!” to con the braindead followers to participate in the flawed elections in their millions. They swallowed the bait, hook, line and sinker and 2 million voted for him and 3 to 4 million, mainly in the diaspora, cheered and applauded the decision to participate.

Ever since the 2008 GNU, Zanu PF has given up the old fashioned one-party state and have a few opposition members in parliament to maintain the new multi-party state facade! Mugabe learned during the GNU that the MDC/CCC leaders are breathtakingly corrupt and incompetent.

CCC leaders defied SADC, AU and all the other election observers who condemned the 2023 election process as flawed and illegal and took up their gravy train seats. Leaders like Tendai Biti and David Coltart defended the defiance under the pretext wherever CCC had won, these were “liberated zone”! Yeah right!

It is not as if MDC/CCC leaders did not know that participating in these flawed elections gave Zanu PF legitimacy. They known this for decades!

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

So Chamisa and company participated, hell-bent on participating, in the 2023 elections knowing fully well that Zanu PF was rigging the elections and that participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy (and it did) out of greed. They took up the gravy train seats bait on offer (some have since lost the seats due to the factional fighting in the party). Now they not only accept Zanu PF rigged the elections (the very thing Chamisa said he had stopped) but blame SADC for mess and are demanding that the regional body sort it out!

SADC, rightly or wrongly, accepted the damning SADC Election Observer Mission (SEOM) report on Zimbabwe’s 2023 elections and decided not take any further action on the matter. They are not going to be bullied by a cry baby who think he can have his cake and eat it too to revisit the SEOM report! They have ignored the cry baby in the past and that is not going to change.

The real tragedy here is that the opposition is wasting time, they should be fighting to get the flaws and illegalities highlighted in the SEOM report and all the other observer team reports implemented so that 2028 is not a repeat of the past. We all know what is going to happen next; Chamisa will come up with yet another idiotic lie, a winning RIGGED election strategy, to justify participating in the flawed 2028 elections. After the elections, he will complain the 2028 were rigged - that goes without saying.

After 44 years of Zanu PF rigging elections, the last 24 years with the connivance of MDC/CCC, Zimbabwe is desperate to end this madness. Zimbabwe is a failed state and ending this status is totally dependent on ending the curse of rigged elections.

We are not going to get any meaningful democratic reforms implement before 2028 elections; neither Zanu PF nor CCC have political will or inclination to implement the reforms. Our best hope is to make sure the flawed elections do not get political legitimacy by making sure millions of Zimbabweans do not participate in the flawed elections.

If Zimbabweans had not participated in 2023 elections in their millions SADC would have denied Zanu PF political legitimacy. We should make it easier for SADC to deny Zanu PF legitimacy in 2028 by doing the right and obvious thing, stop participating in elections “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw”, as Coltart aptly put it!

  1. Here we go, anyone who dares to hold Chamisa to account must be a Zanu PF supporter! How any one can be so single track minded to think there is nothing else beyond Zanu PF vs CCC. They only see black or white in a world rich with all the colours of the rainbow! The tragedy for Zimbabwe is that nincompoops like you have the vote and no wonder the nation is in a mess!

Zimbabwe is a failed state and having more new political parties is not the answer. In 2018 the country had no fewer than 130 political parties and that has not stop the economic meltdown and political demise. What we need is to educate the electorate.

Zimbabweans are so ignorant, naive and gullible they were conned to participate in flawed 2023 because they believed Chamisa's idiotic lie that he had plugged all the vote rigging loop holes.

The ancient Greeks were right democracy only works when the people are educated, knowledgeable and a diligent to hold those in public office to account.

Ever since the late 1990s Zimbabwean elections have not been a simple and straight forward task of election leaders to govern the country but a lot more subtle task of electing opposition leaders who will deliver the democratic changes necessary to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections.

After 24 years, including 5 in the GNU MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform and, worst of all, they have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the dictatorship. And so if we are serious about ending the cur4se of rigged elections we must admit Chamisa & Co. are not going to implement the requisite democratic reforms and find opposition leaders who will.

MDC/CCC are the ones who have been helping Zanu PF rig elections and get away with it these last 24 years and it is therefore naive to argue Chamisa and company are untouchable!

The right to support a political party of your choice is, like every other right, not absolute in that you must enjoy it without affecting others. When you participate in flawed elections because you were stupid enough to be conned by6 a foolish lie at the cost of perpetuating the dictatorship and the nation’s suffering then you clearly failed in your duty of care to others.

Zimbabwe's ruling elite are the "new" rich and they typically do not know what to do with the ill gotten wealth and so the flaunt it and waste it on luxury and trivial. Our greatest failing as a society is to allow the buffoons waste not only the material wealth but the human beings whose potential will never be realised because the resources that should be used to give them quality education, health care, etc. is wasted by the buffoons.

Zimbabwe's "new" rich have tasted absolute political power and the material wealth it brought them for 44 years and counting. They have become punch drunk, addicted and giving it up is unthinkable and yet, for the good of the nation, we must put an end to this curse of rigged elections and bad governance. Enough is enough!

  6. Tsvangirai met president Obama in 2009, there was potential for meaningful political change. Alas! it was wasted.

Yes both President Obama and Tsvangirai spoke of the need for political change. Tsvangirai wanted the sanctions lifted because he was convinced Zanu PF had embraced change. President Obama and the rest in the West were not easily fooled and refused to lift the sanctions.

As we know not even one meaningful democratic reform was implemented in the 5 years of the GNU. The golden opportunity to implement the reforms was lost!

  7. ZANU PF Director for Information and Publicity, Cde Farai Marapira, has strongly warned opposition members who plan to use the SADC Summit as an opportunity for illegal protests. He emphasizes that the opposition had enough time after the 2023 elections to address their concerns through legal means, but they failed to do so.

The ruling party is firm in its stance that any disruptive actions will be met with equal force by the Zimbabwean law enforcement. We encourage all citizens to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. We will remain vigilant in maintaining peace and stability in our beloved country.

I think the opposition’s demand that SADC should revisit the demanding Zimbabwe 2023 SADC Election Observer Mission report and strip Mnangagwa of the presidency is unrealistic and therefore a waste of time. Still I believe the opposition have the right to hold peaceful protest.

We know Zanu PF views all protest not organised by the regime as a threat to peace and security. This knee-jerk reaction is totally unacceptable!

The human brain is the super computer that has allowed mankind to progress from apeman, no more than a chimp standing upright, to spaceman building spacecraft to fly to the moon and beyond.

Those nations such as Singapore that have embraced democracy, democratic competition and merit - the essence of the brain power - have progressed and prospered. We, in Zimbabwe, have stifled talent and democratic discourse to promote and sustain autocracy have regressed and are sinking deeper and deeper into hopelessness and despair.

All modern humans have 1.5 kg of brain tissue but not all use their brain to its full capacity. Mnangagwa, for example, is a buffoon whose brain has ossified into fat hence the reason he has failed to comprehend reason much less to think for himself!

Venezuela and Zimbabwe have a lot in common for one thing decades of dictatorial rule and disputed elections. In Venezuela the Maduro regime has failed to hold free, fair and credible elections same as the Mnangagwa regime in Zimbabwe or be it with the connivance of the MDC/CCC.

There are street protests today in nVenezuela following yet another disputed election; one hopes these will end with the full restoration of the people's right to a meaningful vote. We will have our chance to achieve the same in 2028 IF WE PLAY OUR CARDS RIGHT!

“Nelson Chamisa is the sun to your sky, the air to your lungs. At the mention of his name, you transform, coming alive with fervor, your eyes gleaming with intense passion, words dripping with venom. Your obsession is all-consuming, a fixation bordering on fanaticism. You're consumed by deep-seated loathing, burning resentment fueling every waking moment.

Your hatred is a palpable force, driving you to lash out with reckless abandon. In your twisted world, Chamisa is the embodiment of evil, a monster to be vanquished at all costs. Your crusade against him is a holy war, justifying any means, no matter how foul or unfair.”

The concept of “All those in public office must be democratically accountable to the people!” is unpalatable to some people especially those with the personality cult mentality.

Chamisa not only failed to implement even one reform in 24 years but has been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship and the suffering of the nation. He lied about plugging vote rigging loop holes to con Zimbabweans to participate in flawed elections. Worst of all he is set to lie yet again to get Zimbabweans to participate in the 2028 elections.

Of course, Chamisa is accountable and must be stopped from conning people. You can call that hating Chamisa, call it what you like but you can be certain of one thing - Chamisa will be held to account, that is not negotiable!

"Elect me again and, this time, I will become a vegetarian!" said the wolf. And the sheep, in their ignorance and naivety elected the wolf their lord and master time and time again!

There is something disconcerting when human beings: made in the image of GOD, no less: start behaving like sheep!

“We fix it yes. We first by telling others how foolish it is to continue doing the bidding of these jokers.”

Exactly! The problem here is two fold; first we have the sellout promising the deliver the democratic changes only to be bribe by Zanu PF to not only forget about the reforms but to participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. Second, we have the braindead followers who have been conned again and again to participate in flawed elections because they believe such idiotic claims like “I plugged all vote rigging loop holes.”

The sell out will participate in the 2028 elections out of greed and will conned the brain dead. The herd cannot be stopped participating because one cannot reason with them - they are brain dead! The answer is to use a sludge hammer and hope something will finally get through! It is tough work and not for feeble minded.

Seven years into the Second Republic and nothing has improved. Indeed things are much worse that they were during Mugabe’s days. And then you are told Zimbabwe is on course to become an upper middle income nation. Only a first class village idiot would believe such nonsense.

This is like touring a maize field in much the plants are flowering and not even two feet high. Only a fool will believe there will be a bumper harvest! One does not need to wait until harvest time or 2030 to know Vision 2030 is a mirage by moonlight!

  14. While the ZANU-PF-led government ensures elections occur on schedule, the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) frequently bans most opposition political rallies, and political activists are sometimes arrested on questionable charges.

The police regularly invoke the Maintenance of Peace and Order Act (MOPO), which governs public gatherings, processions, and demonstrations, to ban opposition rallies.

Additionally, the opposition operates amidst politically motivated violence, a biased judiciary, and state-controlled media heavily favoring the ruling party.

This does not make any sense given that MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even a token reform to end the Zanu PF dictatorship in 24 years including 5 years in the GNU. Worse still, they have been participating in flawed elections knowing fully well that doing so would give Zanu PF legitimacy. All this out of greed and so these complains about rigged elections and political oppression are hypocritical to say the least.

Chamisa is a notorious cry baby known for his blundering imcompetence. rampant corruption and for wanting his cake and eating it too!

  15. So you think CCC has been participating in then flawed election with Chamisa even lying about plugging the vote rigging loop holes to do the nation a great favour? How any one can still be so naive even now with the benefit of hindsight beggars belief! We really have a mountain to climb to stop this brain dead Chamisa Chete Chete brigade participating in the flawed 2028 elections.

"This young man is anokurwadza iwewe unorwadziwa neyi hauna kumuvhotera and iwewe hausiriwe Zimbabwe stop it and shut up stupid old fool."

He did lie and conned the braindead Chamisa Chete Chete brigade to participating in the flawed elections to perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship and suffering on the masses including the braindead. If you are not concerned about the tragic consequences of 44 years of rigged elections it must because you do not have the intellect to comprehend what is happening.

You have failed to appreciate the simple concept that leaders must be accountable to to the people hence the reason you are all out to silence me because I dared to hold Chamisa to account. If you have failed to understand the grade one stuff it is little wonder you do not understand more advanced stuff like Chamisa's incompetence and corruption are helping keep Zanu PF in power.

The tragedy for Zimbabwe is that there are millions of village idiots like you out there and you have the vote! There can never be a greater fool than he who, in their stupidity, is shooting themselves in the foot and perpetuating their own suffering and that of others. They keep repeating the same mistake over and over again, 44 years of rigged elections and they still have not learned!

“Mukori kuwana data zvako but you the most boring person here. You always talking what you have alluded three years ago. Were is your problem?”

Zanu PF has rigged elections for 44 years, the last 24 years with the help of MDC/CCC leaders and their brain dead supporters. We must end this insanity and the sure way to do so is to implement the democratic reforms. What I find surprising is that you are tired of having reforms on the national agenda after three years but are indifferent that Zimbabwe is a failed state all because of 44 years of rigged elections.

For three years I have been your public enemy number one because I have dared to fight to end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance. How can any one be so dumb and stupid!

  18. @ Chicken Breast

Are you bored to hear that Chamisa lied about plugging vote rigging loop holes and that he will repeat the lie and con you again in 2028? If you have any brain at all then you would not be bored to hear that since it is the only sure way to stop the millions of brain dead being conned and participating in the flawed elections.

The most important thing here is stopping the brain dead participating in the flawed elections. If that means keeping reforms on the national agenda until reforms are implemented or the brain dead are stopped participating in flawed elections. So be it! Why this simple message must be repeated over and over again is a measure of just how shallow you are.

"Zanu PF is bulwark against western machinations!" said visiting SWAPO delegation from Namibia. Namibia is holding national elections this November and the party is trying to pull the "we are the party of the liberation movement" card and is no doubt looking to Zanu PF for help to rig the elections and to get away with it given Mnangagwa's expertise in this area!

ANC's failure to win back the clear majority in the 29 May 2024 elections has left SWAPO rattled! One only hopes that SADC leaders will not Mnangagwa spread his vote rigging influence in the region especially whilst he holds the regional body's chairmanship.
