"Release of SEOM close chapter on 2023 elections." Nonsense, SADC heads have yet to digest the damning report. W Mukori

“In a significant move that underscored its independence from CCC leader Mr. Nelson Chamisa and his Western supporters, SADC released its conclusive report on the Zimbabwean elections on Thursday. Notably, this report omitted the biased statements found in the highly discredited initial assessment from the SADC Election Observer Mission (SEOM). With this release, the chapter on Zimbabwe's 2023 election has been effectively closed, leaving the opposition and their Western supporters grasping for alternative narratives,” read the article in Bulawayo 24.

My immediate response was to laugh! The propaganda war of misinformation and downright threats and blackmail is reaching its crescendo and the Zanu PF regime and its operatives and getting pretty desperate.  I scrolled to the bottom of the article to confirm its source - The Herald. Just as I thought!

The Herald is deliberately misleading the public by attributing the report released last week to SADC, the regional body, when it is the final report of the observer team SEOM.

All the SADC leaders will now read, digest the damning SEOM report. They all know what the Zanu PF government has ignored the damning report and gone ahead with presidential inauguration, swearing in of MPs and senators, appointment of ministers, etc., etc. It is business as usual as far as Zanu PF and its surrogate opposition parties partners are concerned. SADC leaders must now decide whether Zanu PF regime can be let off the hook in the light of the damning SEOM report.

“With this release, the chapter on Zimbabwe's 2023 election has been effectively closed!” That is certainly premature and wishful think! Zanu PF and its apologist are not SADC and, per se, must not be so presumptuous as to bully and dictate to the regional body.

The is no question about it; the SEOM report is damning, alright!

“Conclusion 13.3

The SEOM noted that, as detailed in sections 6 and 7 of this report, some aspects of the Harmonised Elections fell short of the requirements of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, the Electoral Act, and the SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections (2021),” stated the SEOM report.

The SEOM report gives details of how ZEC had given one feeble excuse after another for failing to produce a verified voters’ roll, for example. And thanks to the excellent work of such groups as Team Pachedu, who have already shown the shambolic condition of Zimbabwe’s voters’ roll. The shambolic condition of the voters’ roll was not confined to a select few voters, or affected a few wards or constituencies; this was a wholesale failure affecting the whole country!

“While the final report did raise concerns about certain aspects of the August 23 harmonised elections, such issues are not unique to Zimbabwe,” argued The Herald. Yeah right! The arrogant and dismissive statement from a regime that has never respected the ordinary people’s right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country!

Of course SEOM report is spot on; Zimbabwe’s 23 August 2023 elections “fell short” of Zimbabwe’s own constitution, electoral laws and disregarded SADC’s own principles and guidelines on elections. How anyone can still pretend such a blatantly flawed and illegal electoral process can ever produce a legitimate result and government beggars belief.

SADC as a regional body, has yet to decide either to do the honourable thing and uphold SEOM’s damning report and deny this Zanu PF regime political legitimacy. Or do to the despicable; ignore the damning report and grant the regime legitimacy.

  1. "Take it easy we know what we are doing!" says Chamisa.

Last time he said CCC would win big because he had plugged all Zanu PF vote rigging loop-holes! Zanu PF went on to blatantly rig the elections for the umpteenth time. The wildebeest CCC herd did not even notice what happened, it was all water off a duck’s back.

Of course Chamisa, just like Mnangagwa, has no clue what he doing. He is just blundering from pillar to post! And the wildebeest CCC herd follow him blindly like sheep to the slaughter. With such a dum electorate, they even worship him for blundering, this nation is doomed!

“Once upon a time, in 1976 Zimbabwe was as powerful as Israel is today, the world's fastest growing crop economy according to UN World Book figures, a nation manufacturing its own products, in an economy that grew despite UN sanctions and a bloody war within. How did this country lose this?”

Zimbabweans are starving in a land where you can plant a broom-stick and harvest fruit because for the last 43 years the country has been led by buffoons on both sides on the political divide. Our starvation is a damning testimonial to the country’s poor leadership and the ignorance and naivety of the electorate who are keeping these buffoons in power!

43 years after independence, in this day and age, and we are still failing to hold free, fair and credible elections. We don’t even know what constitute free and fair elections, for Pete’s sake!

"Yaaaa hey , reading this it brings pain when you think of our Zimbabwe, it was destroyed in day 1 by its owners, ZANU could not develop anything from 1980 up to now, but what they have done is to destroy, crushing everything into pieces, crushed the currency, economy, businesses, health systems, education, infrastructure, just everything has been destroyed and crushed by ZANU government, it’s so sad when you think of Zimbabwe."

This is half the story! You must also admit that we have had many golden opportunities to end the Zanu PF dictatorship notably during the 2008 to 2013 and have wasted them all! I will dare to mention who wasted these chances - MDC/CCC. Shame, you are frothing already!

We want a solution to Zimbabwe and telling half the story is one of the reasons we are stuck! Tell it as it is!

“Mukori you are better than chamisa according to facts you alluded too. So why don't you start your own party and water tight the loopholes.”

The problem in Zimbabwe is not just the buffoons, on both sides of the political divide, who are corrupt, incompetent and, in the case of Zanu PF, murderous tyrants. There is also the issue of the ignorant and naive electorate so gullible they have been conned by an up start like Chamisa into giving up their right to free elections on the belief CCC has devised winning in rigged elections strategies.

So forming a new political party will not solve Zimbabwe’s economic and political mess because the naive electorate will be conned again and again into doing stupid things! An Albert Einstein of political science will lose to Mnangagwa or Chamisa for the simple reason the Zimbabwe electorate will have no clue what Einstein is talking about!

Forming a political party is the simple solution to a complex problem; it does not solve the problem but only compound it!

  5. There is no denying Zimbabwe is a failed state because of bad governance. What is nauseating here is to hearing people like Tendai Biti pontificating endlessly about Africa’s failure to hold free and fair elections, etc., etc. The village idiot was one of the senior MDC leaders in the 2008 to 2013 GNU that failed to implement even one token reform to end the Zanu PF dictatorship out of greed! And has been participating in these flawed elections ever since for the same reason - greed. He did realised the sheer futility of participating in the flawed elections.

“Look, you can't keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections. So it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimising these sham elections which don't deliver. This country will go through a serious economic crisis in 2020 caused by Zanu PF. And yet, this is the only country where a government doesn't perform, it is encouraged by a super majority in parliament,” said Tendai Biti in a 2015 interview with Isaac Mugabi.

“So you can't continue subjecting Zimbabweans to processes where their hopes just get crushed.”

He must have tried to talk his opposition colleagues to stop participating and failed. He joined them for his share of the spoils of power. He should have the common decency and spare us the hypocrisy and crocodile tears!

Nelson Chamisa has been the best foot forward in 2018 and 2023 for anyone wanting CHANGE in Zimbabwe.

However when he repeats the same things that he said in 2018 in 2023, it is common sense that anyone with a brain has a right to question if there is a real plan beyond the Bible verses and motivational speeches.

Don’t insult citizens who ask those pertinent questions if you claim to be a democrat, we are not in a cult and don’t want to be in one.

Don’t threaten citizens who are exercising their intellectual freedom to asking searching questions.

Nelson Chamisa said that victory was coming and that celebrations were coming too in 2018, yesterday he said the same thing again 5 years later.

Is it not common sense to ask whether there is a real plan when a leader repeats the same thing five years later?
You can't say #GodIsInIt then insult citizens who use the brains that the same God bestowed onto them to think straight.

    Happy Sabbath!

The truth is we live in a country where many of our people do not have the common sense to see they are being conned. Who would believe any one would give up the right to free and fair elections for Chamisa’s winning in rigged elections strategies, especial after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging election? Zimbabweans did!

Point out the sheer insanity of repeating the same s***t over and over agin and it is not just Chamisa you will have to answer to but the whole wildebeest CCC herd! To the herd, he is a demigod, incapable of doing any wrong and must never ever be questioned - not by a mere mortal!

We need honest debate and democratic accountability and not village idiots who refuse to be held to account pretending they are doing God’s will and taking advantage of people whom they have turned into brain-dead wildebeests. We need the people who can think for themselves!

In my humble opinion MDC/CCC leaders have already proven beyond all doubt that they are corrupt and incompetent and our failure to accept this simple reality is the reason why many continue to follow CCC and being dragged from one disaster into another. If we are serious about change then we must start that change by accepting leaders are mortals and when they have failed to let them go!

“Tell Mnangagwa the blundering mantra. Chamisa is the best. He is the Political Beast that made Political Big Wigs wag their tales in anger and at times put their tails between the legs when he comes with a new strategy that sent them Helter skelter like headless chicken. They are only holding on to a piece of cloth - Sovereign State.

Chamisa refused to be corrupted and sold the nation over a piece of fat cake. They are abusing the Sovereignty of Zimbabwe. Sovereignty means loyalty with dignity in all systems not the top only. If the Locomotive is super fine and the wagons are not aligned to the rail. The whole train would derail. Right now the Locomotive is dead, needs major maintenance or engine overhaul. The wagons are aligned. That is why the nation is not moving.

Chamisa is the Super Train with all pistons firing or all electric motors well connected to the current. Chamisa, even if ZANU PF destroys CCC and Chamisa is removed. The nation will vote for him as an Independent Candidate, and he will still win. He is a mighty force that Isaiah 59:19 says, " Even if the enemy comes to me like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will raise him up." If they kill him the nation will vote for the Grave of Chamisa. For once it will be a shame to rig elections to a grave. Chamisa can form any Party and win. So please, don't fight the hand of God. Don't mock him. He is worshipping God the Creator not the creature. πŸ₯²πŸ˜₯😭😭 Please, don't let Zimbabwe Cry.

You will draw a case if you touch Chamisa. Zimbabwe will not live to see peace if Chamisa is dead. Please, spare him for your blessings. He is not only Carnal that you may equate to him with. He is heavily spiritual. Make all analysis, critiques. Decimate his party but when God chose him as Moses to remove Zimbabweans from the biblical Egypt we are subjected to by ZANU PF, God will take him to another level.”

The reality is that Chamisa is not only a mere mortal, with none of the divine blessings, but one who has already proven that he is corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. How is it possible that anyone can still be so shallow, thick and slow no to see it!

The real tragedy for Zimbabwe is that the country is a failed state because we have buffoons running it and it is the naive and myopic and gullible electorate who keep the buffoons in power!

Chamisa said "MDC A has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the 2018 elections!" We all know he lied because Zanu PF rigged those elections. He made many similar claims regarding these 2023 elections and again he lied.

I consider participating in these flawed elections knowing fully well that Zanu PF would rig and that doing so would give Zanu PF legitimacy but doing it regardless out of greed high treason!

Even Madhuku himself gas been beaten up and incarcerated for the people of Zimbabwe but credit will never be given where it's due. The problem is people underestimate the capabilities of Zanu pf. At least those men and some women that you criticise have been man enough to stand against Zanu PF.”

If we follow your argument to its logical conclusion, all Zimbabweans who have left the country are cowards with nothing to contribute. You and the rest who have remained by behind are the conquering lions and the smartest humans this side of the grave. No doubt you are thrilled to bites you got rid of the deadwood.

So tell us oh wise one: why is Zimbabwe still a failed state?

In my humble opinion, no one has the monopoly of knowledge and their contribution should be judge on merit and not on whether they are in Zimbabwe or outside, male or female, young or old, etc.

Indeed, in my experience I have often found that those who make a big song and dance about trivial matters like whether one is in the country or not, on gender, etc. are village idiots who have nothing better to say! Of course, there village idiots inside and outside Zimbabwe, male and female, young and old.

I salute those in the diaspora who have returned a keen interest in what is happening in Zimbabwe and and are helping financially and with the ideas on how to get Zimbabwe out of the mess it is in. I strongly encourage a vigorous debate and break away from the politics of empty slogan and the idiotic mentality that leaders are demigods who are always right and must never ever be questioned.

Any one who holds public office must be held to account for what they do and fail to do - that is maxi and it is not negotiable!

Every Zimbabwean, outside and inside the country, male and female, young and old have the right to express their views freely and openly - that too is not negotiable!

We have endured the suffocating oppression of Zanu PF these last 43 years it is infuriating to find there is a new generation of oppressors already flexing their muscles ready to take over. They are claiming that they have been in the trenches, just as Zanu PF claimed they fought in the liberation war, although they have accomplished fcuk all these last 23 years!

  18. Chari points out that the formation of CCC was abrupt and haphazard, lacking consensus on its structure, operation, and leadership. This led to a formless entity with no clear responsibilities or accountability. The centralized decision-making process resulted in inefficiency and stagnation.

Mr. Chari highlights the negative impact of centralization within CCC. Nelson Chamisa’s position became dominant, leaving little room for others to contribute or take on critical responsibilities. Consequently, gaps in leadership and decision-making became apparent, leading to internal discontent.

Freeman Chari explains that many leaders within CCC calculated that opposing Nelson Chamisa publicly would jeopardize their own parliamentary ambitions. This led to a festival of bootlicking, where individuals supported bad decisions to safeguard their own interests rather than challenging the flawed approach.

Team Pachedu lead personality, Freeman Chari emphasizes how bootlicking became prevalent within CCC. He suggests that some individuals believed Chamisa was the best option and should be given the freedom to test his ideas, even if it meant taking risks. This blind support hindered critical analysis and proactive decision-making.

Chari observes that Chamisa’s strategic approach relied heavily on ambiguity, leaving even his supporters unsure of his intentions and plans. This made it challenging to be proactive and effectively respond to political developments.

Freeman also notes that some individuals, including experienced members from MDC and other social organizations, chose to disengage from CCC due to their belief that Chamisa was leading the movement in the wrong direction. This disengagement further weakened CCC’s structure and leadership.

The promoter of the failed Mandla anti-rigging technology, Chari discusses the flawed process of choosing candidates, which deviated from traditional member voting due to the absence of members within CCC. This flawed process resulted in the selection of candidates based on bootlicking, gatekeeping, and backstabbing, rather than merit.

Chari criticizes the incoherent response of CCC to the sham elections. While some MPs accepted the election results, others claimed rigging. This weakened CCC’s position and made it difficult to justify their stance. Chari believes that rejecting everything would have been a stronger response.”

This should be compulsory reading to all but especially the wildebeest CCC herd! The truth is Nelson Chamisa and the bootlickers around him have all proven corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent why the herd has failed to see this all these years speaks volumes of the herd’s intellectual inability to see even the obvious!

“ZanuPF dismissed the report as mere recommendations. They said they have every right to take up or throw away the recommendations. The actions on the ground is showing a totally different story. ZanuPF is in panic over the scheduled SADC Extraordinary Meeting.

ZanuPF held a Central Committee meeting to deliberate on the report and chart the way forward. The meeting ordered all elected Councillors and Mps to hold rallies in their areas.

The rallies were disguised as "Thank you rallies".The losing candidates were also ordered to hold similar rallies. The major purpose of these rallies was to prepare for SADC meeting.

At the rallies people were asked to sign up a petition to SADC declaring that the August elections were free, fair, transparent and credible.

ZanuPF is trying to get more than 3 million signatures from voters.ZanuPF wants to present volumes of evidence of what they believe will convince SADC that the election was credible.”

There is a ring of truth in this!

Petitioning SADC is the sort of thing the panicking Zanu PF would do. The party will have no problem getting the 3 million signatures, it can use signatures collected to demand the lifting of sanctions, for example. The party has already got an organisation, Citizens led by Machacha lined up to protest the presence of Dr Mumba in the SEOM team. Machacha can hand the petition too.

If there is an Extraordinary Summit of SADC heads State to discuss Zimbabwe election, then it will be because the regional body has refused to sweep the damning election report under the carpet. Threaten or petition SADC will not change anything! No wonder therefore Zanu PF is in a panic!

Yes! Yes! The Zanu PF crows who said the 2023 elections were "closed" are eating humble pie and there is more to come - Zanu PF and their side-kick opposition, CCC, are illegitimate!

  30. The SADC Extraordinary Summit of Heads of States and Governments on Zimbabwe, scheduled for October 31, 2023, will address the election crisis issue.

Well! Well! Well! This is the one thing Zanu PF thugs said would never happen! "We are SADC, without us there is no SADC! If SADC do stupid things, we will leave. We are a revolutionary party and will not be dictated to by puppets. Hati hwahwo!"

The other day some one was even boasting that whilst have become CEO through hard work and merit he was Head of State because he rigged elections. To him it was a joke, confident there was absolutely nothing anyone on earth and heaven can do about it!

Look who is having the last laugh - the puppets! And who is in the dog-house - vana Hati hwahwo!

Aiva madziva avamazambuko! Chinokura chinokotama, bhurugwa raDambudzo chavachikorobo!

You have got the wrong end of the stick! The SEOM report said those aggrieved by the process should follow legal means but never said SADC itself will do nothing further. As we can see, SADC leaders have read the report and have decided to call the extraordinary summit on 31 October 2023 to decide what next!

The report is crystal clear the 23 August 2023 Zimbabwe election fell short of the country's own constitutional and legal requirements and violate SADC's principles and guidelines on elections. It would be shameful for SADC to have swept the report under the carpet. And now that the summit is confirmed you can be certain it will not be for the purposes of sharing a beer!

  32. In his multi-pronged approach that was carried under a thick veil of secrecy and which went on until the eve of this year’s elections, the opposition leader, who bears the unflattering moniker “Cobra” did not involve anyone within CCC.

The only reason Chamisa wanted dialogue with Mnangagwa is to secure for himself a gravy train seat. Zanu PF and CCC were i the 2008 to 2013 GNU and the two parties failed to implement even one token democratic reform even with all the nagging from SADC for reforms! Zimbabweans must wake-up to the reality that Zanu PF and CCC will never deliver any meaningful reforms and free elections.

What are you wittering about, Zimbabwe failed to produce something as basic as a verified voters' roll. Of course the elections were rigged and for you to claim to be defending the vote is nonsense. Zanu PF must not hold the nation ransom by making the country ungovernable to protect rigged elections!

Last week I wrote 2000 words on why it was not in our national interest to continue with the use of foreign currencies for domestic settlement.

I thought the case was strong but I was surprised when our President took up the issue at a major meeting and stated quite clearly that we were going back to use of our own currency. I pointed out that when we managed our monetary affairs properly, the US dollar was always worth less than our own currency. I further pointed out that all the countries in our region had done this successfully.

I have often found Eddie Cross pedantic to the point of becoming utterly useless. The case for Zimbabwe to use its own currency is obvious and he has stated it - we MUST manage our monetary affairs properly! It is no secret that we are NOT managing our monetary affairs properly. It is foolish to pretend we are managing our monetary affairs properly when every economic indicator tells you otherwise.

The root cause of our nightmare is the failure to hold free, fair and credible elections that has left the nation stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless Zanu PF regime for 43 years and counting. 43 years of corruption and voodoo-economics have left the country in economic ruins!
