"Africa must learn fast!" Must take hard look in the mirror and admit reality and not what we wish to see! W Mukori

 “Africa must learn Fast..

You should not wait forever. Japan learned from the west during the Meiji restoration. China sent her engineers to the west after the death of Mao. Singapore learned from the west. India was colonised by the west but learned technology and kept culture and religion.

We were colonised but kept religion but not technology. China and Korea were brutalised by Japan, they dusted themselves and moved on. We are whining, and want self pity. Why is it that everywhere we are at the bottom. Why is it that we are the only race that was enslaved?”

One of the key requirement for progress has to be the willingness and ability to look oneself in the mirror and give an honest assessment of what one sees. The next step is just as important but not as tough: to build on one’s strengths and mitigate on one’s weaknesses. As a people our default setting to pretend to be whom we want to be and even if that is wishful thinking to hide our shortcomings.

This fault of pretending to be someone else is particularly dangerous for those in positions of power and authority because they will surround themselves with flatterers their failing will be amplified and allowed to grow and spread with tragic consequences.

In Zimbabwe Robert Mugabe and his Zanu PF cronies have completely destroyed the nation’s once promising economy through mismanagement and corruption. The regime has been blaming sanctions for all the nation’s ills, a convenient scapegoat, allowing the real causes of the economic problems to grow and spread to the point they are are now killing the economy.

The call above is important in that it is forcing us to take a long hard look in the mirror and introspect!

"The unexamined life is not worth living" is a famous dictum supposedly uttered by Socrates at his trial for impiety and corrupting youth, for which he was subsequently sentenced to death.

What better place to start than in examining one’s own life!

  1. WORDS OF WISDOM

“It is better to be divided by truth than to be united in error.
It is better to speak the truth that hurts and then heals, than falsehood tha comforts and then kills.
It is better to be hated for telling the truth than to be loved for telling a lie.
It is better to stand alone with the truth, than to be wrong with the multitude.
It is better to ultimately succeed with the truth than temporarily succeed with a lie.”
    Rev Nicholas Nyawo.

This should be the opening and closing prayer at all Zanu PF and CCC gatherings, it wish help cure the naive and myopic followers who have been brain washed into believing any one who dare ask is search of the truth is public enemy number one!

We have had rigged elections for 43 years now, for example, because both Zanu PF and CCC supporters do even know what constitutes free, fair and credible elections; they all follow blindly whatever the leaders say. How stupid is that!

  2. CITIZENS Coalition for Change (CCC) legislators were left frothing with anger after Zanu-PF's Jacob Mudenda was re-elected as the Speaker of the National Assembly with the opposition blaming the Clerk Of Parliament for the result.

CCC Members of Parliament arrived late for the election after they were locked in a caucus meeting in Harare.

Consequently, Zanu-PF's candidate Mudenda was re-elected unopposed with Tsitsi Gezi as deputy.

Addressing the media, CCC chief whip Amos Chibaya accused Zanu-PF of "rigging" the election.

SADC and AU has already condemned the 23 August as flawed and illegal the process could not produce a legitimate result. So why is CCC soldiering on and continue to participate in this charade?

    Answer: greed and breath-taking incompetence.

MDC/CCC have never ever understood why they were elected. The people of Zimbabwe have risked all to elect MDC/CCC leaders on the promise the party will deliver the necessary democratic changes to end the curse of rigged elections.

Mugabe bribed the MDC leaders with the trappings of high office during the GNU and they kick reforms out of the window. And ever since the GNU debacle MDC/CCC have given up on reforms and have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for a share of the spoils of power.

CCC are propping up this illegitimate Zanu PF regime out of greed and incompetence.

The people of Zimbabwe have yet to wake up to the political reality that CCC have moved from running with the povo hare by day and hunting with Zanu PF hounds by night to hunting with Zanu PF day and night!

  3. The people of Zimbabwe have been denied a meaningful say in the governance of the country it is ironic that those who have connived in this treasonous betrayal should claim they have the mandate of the people. Zimbabwe political system is a sewage pond, you will never have quality fish out of there. It is natural that those who created the sewage pond should fight to preserve it by claiming there is quality fish!

“We are not just critics...we act to support our parties... but we have our limits and we are working to go beyond.”

Who is stopping you, go ahead! The question is: Why are you insisting that everyone must be "on the ground"? Is it because you believe only those on the ground contribute to the fight for a better Zimbabwe?

There are many on the ground who are contributing just as there many other on the ground who are doing nothing. There are also many outside Zimbabwe who care passionately about the country who are contributing and many who are not.

So this argument that only those on the ground are contributing is as nonsensical as the gender, age, tribe and all the foolishness pedalled by the idiots. Measure some one’s contribution on what they have said or done and not where they are, their sex, etc.

“Yesterday Harare City council swore in its councillors, Bulawayo did the day before.
All urban councils are under the opposition CCC.

Zimbabweans have been let down by councils on many fronts before, so we are expecting a radical change from previous councils.

It starts with electing a credible mayor who is not just a political appointee, but a competent leader who knows what needs to be done.”

There is no legal government at national level or local authority level because the 23 August elections were flawed and illegal. CCC have decided to take up their seats for the same reasons they have been participating in these flawed elections and they have failed to implement any reforms to end the curse of rigged elections - greed and breath-taking incompetence.

Does this mean that Mr Hopewell Chin’ono is giving his endorsement of the political circus and turmoil these Zanu PF thugs and their surrogate CCC partners have caused. Zimbabwe is not ever going to move on “expecting better service” as long as the country remains a pariah state that cannot even hold free and fair elections.

We need a new GNU so we can finally implement the democratic reforms to guarantee free and fair elections. Until this done, there is no moving on. Zimbabwe has no legal government or local council!

Chin’ono sided with Mnangagwa after the November 2017 coup, praising the thug and buffoon to the high heavens. He is off-side again in backing the illegitimate regime! Some people never learn!

“I just said if you are as passionate as you claim..pinda mudariro...you can contribute meaningfully from anywhere..solutions are not limited to the lot on the ground.

I have followed your submissions and it seems the focus is on critising those who care enough to lift a finger. No solutions!!

Surprise me with solution oriented submissions..I look forward to them.”

So you accept that meaningful contributions can come from anywhere and yet still insist that I should be on the ground. In other words you accept contribution can come from anywhere just to pay lip service!

It is the duty of everyone to hold those in positions of power and authority to democratic account. Your argument that we should not do so because “they care enough to lift a finger” is nonsense. They are in public office and, per se, must be accountable to the public. That is not negotiable! It will and must be hammered into the heads of nincompoops like you!

Of course, I have offered solutions. I have been say these last week that Zimbabweans must come out in support of SADC and AU in dismissing the 23 August elections as a sham. Just because you are too stupid to understand anything is not my fault!

“Too often, those who set out to liberate their countries from tyranny end up selling out, fighting among themselves, and sowing confusion and carnage. Some opposition leaders are themselves closet dictators, exhibiting the same tyrannical tendencies they so loudly denounce in the despots they hope to replace. Too often in the past, many such “liberators” transformed themselves—in less than a year—into another bunch of vile despots or “crocodile liberators” who were far worse than the dictators they replaced.”

You are spot on there. We the people have often played a major role in perpetuating this cycle of today’s liberators becoming tomorrow’s oppressors by placing the liberators on pedestal and worship them as demigods who can do no wrong.

For example, MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one democratic reform in 23 years and have been participating in these flawed elections giving Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating the dictatorship. Mention this and the CCC wildebeest mob will go on red alert ready to attack.

By taking up their gravy train seats, CCC leaders are adding a feather in Zanu PF’s cap and thus undermining SADC and AU who have declared the regime illegitimate. The brain dead mob are backing CCC leaders just as they did during the 2008 to 2013 GNU.

Even if SADC and AU soldier on and deliver a healthy and functioning democratic system on government for Zimbabwe, given our naive and gullible electorate it will not last. If we get the system in the morning by noon the same day there will be clusters of dictatorial cells growing ready to take over.

“Blind obedience rarely shares company with common sense, so the saying goes. You get some despotic tyranny build and donate a parliament building when you know free ideas and democracy will never flow just to hoodwink donors. You can't even conduct free elections how can you preside over free thought and openness? Nonsense.”
It really is an outrage that 43 years after independence and we are still failing to hold free, fair and credible elections. The colonial rulers denied our people a meaningful say in the governance of the country and here we are, we are now are the ones denying ourselves this basic right. How foolish is that!

“Boss if ur CCC Mps and councilors have come to be sworn in wc Election do u still believe was rigged.

    Note:
In future quickly mark the difference between an incident and the actual event summary.

It's time for building; Elections are long gone.
Mark ur position and take off.”

MDC/CCC sold out on reforms and have been participating in flawed elections to give to give Zanu PF legitimacy. They have continued to sell out by taking up their gravy train seats in this illegitimate regime. CCC used to run with povo during the day and hunt at night with Zanu PF hounds. Now Chamisa and company are hunting day and night with Zanu PF.

There is some treacherous lobbying going on by one SADC member state to have an Extraordinary Summit on Zimbabwe. The other members are seeing through this and it’s not going to happen. This agenda being pushed by this member state is not its own. It’s doing a hatchet job for some powerful nations.

Some people just do not know when the game is up!

Zanu PF held the nation to ransom for 43 years, this cannot be allowed to continue!

  13. Zanu PF's Joseph Goebbels are out with all guns blazing; they insist there will be no special SADC Summit to discuss Zimbabwe's sham elections.

    "SADC tisu!"
"Without Zanu PF there is no SADC!"

If there was ever a time when Zimbabweans must stand up and be counted, this is that time! Zanu PF has held the nation to ransom for 43 years, enough is enough!

  14. There are lies and there are damn lies, Tendai Biti told the damnedest lies ever. CCC has NOT been participating in the flawed and illegal elections "to protect zones of autonomy", that is just a feeble excuse to cover for the real reasons - greed and breath-taking incompetence.

What "zones of autonomy" were you protecting during the 2008 to 2013 when you failed to implement even one token reform in five yers of the 2008 to 2013 GNU?
