"The vultures of progress will never win!" declared Mnangagwa - "You are that vulture!" W Mukori

"We shall not allow a situation where our people live in chronic insecurity, lack and deprivation. It has become apparent that in our midst, there are wolves in sheep clothing, vultures. The end is coming," Mnangagwa eulogized at Heroes Acre yesterday.

"Let us never be complacent, the war of today is neither guns nor bombs. The war against our economic prosperity is on-going.

"Rest assured that the enemies of progress and economic growth of our country will never win as long as we remain united. The challenges we face are not insurmountable. I exhort all of us not to surrender, it is not over.

"Despite the setbacks we may face, Zimbabwe needs people who choose peace over disharmony, tranquillity over violence, love and peace over hatred, morality, integrity and hard honest work over immorality, laziness and corruption. We must choose justice and truth over lies and falsehoods."

The real wolf in sheep’s clothing, the vulture, pedalling lies and falsehoods is none other than Mnangagwa himself. How can the war to achieve economic prosperity even be won when for the last 40 years gross mismanagement and rampant corruption, the cancers in our economy, have been allowed to grow and spread to every sector of the economy.

Mnangagwa promised “zero tolerance to corruption” when he took over from the late Mugabe in November 2017. He has failed to stamp out corruption.

In 2016 Mugabe admitted the country was being “swindled out of US$15 billion” in looted diamonds alone. Mugabe has never arrested one diamond swindler and/or recover one swindled dollar. It is now two and half years since the November 2017 coup and Mnangagwa has yet to arrest one diamond swindler and/or recover one dollar.

“Corruption is deep-rooted!” Mnangagwa has since admitted.

Of course, corruption is deep-rooted! Most of Mnangagwa cabinet members, to brass in the security services, CEO in civil service and private sector, etc. including Mnangagwa himself are the chief beneficiaries of the gross mismanagement and rampant corruption, the godfathers of all the wholesale looting.

As long as Zanu PF remains in power the corruption will never end. Zanu PF will never ever reform itself out of office no more than a cobra will never ever defang itself! Never ever!

After the November 2017 coup, Mnangagwa also promised to hold free, fair and credible elections. After 37 years of rigged elections the people of Zimbabwe welcomed the opportunity to have a meaningful say in the governance of the country. Sadly, they were to be disappointed as Mnangagwa went on to blatantly rig the elections.

“The elections were free, fair and credible!” Mnangagwa has insisted time and time again.

A blatant lie! Of course, the elections were rigged. ZEC even failed to produce something as basic as a verified voters’ roll.

Zimbabwe is a pariah state, a Banana Republic, ruled by corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thugs. 40 years of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship have left the country in economic ruins and political paralysis. The oppressive political system has stifled debate and democratic competition allowing scum to rise to the top in both the ruling party and the opposition.

“I swear by the living LORD that the man who did this ought to die! For having done such a cruel thing, he must pay back four times as much as he took,” said King David after the Prophet Nathan told him of the story of the rich man who had killed the poor man’s only ewe-lamb to feed his guests.

“You are that man,” said the Prophet Nathan.

King David was filled with remorse and repented. We are not so lucky!

“Rest assured that the enemies of progress and economic growth of our country will never win as long as we remain united!” Mnangagwa, you are the enemy of progress! After 40 years of misrule, you still refuse to accept you have failed and, worst of all, ruthless deny the people a meaningful say in the governance of the country!

The only way out of this hell-on-earth Zimbabwe finds itself in is for the vote rigging Zanu PF regime to step-down, it has no mandate to govern. This will allow the political space for the appointment of an independent body tasked to implement the democratic reforms to end the curse of rigged elections.

  1. It is laughable that President Mnangagwa should consider himself the champion of economic development and progress when he and his Zanu PF regime has been in power the last 40 years dragging the nation from with a robust and promising economy to an impoverished one. His attempt to divorce himself from all that happened during the 37 years of Mugabe rule must be treated with the contempt it rightly deserve. He was a senior member of the Mugabe regime through out the 37 years. And, more significantly, he is the one who rigged elections denying the people the right to remove the Zanu PF regime all those 37 years.

But even if Mnangagwa was given a chance for a fresh start, the last two and half years has already proven beyond all doubt that he too is corrupt, incompetent and, worst of all, a vote rigging thug. Indeed, Mnangagwa is the vulture responsible for Zimbabwe's economic meltdown and political paralysis. If the nation is serious about reviving the economy, ending the abject poverty and tragic human suffering and deaths; then the nation must remove the vultures responsible for the mess.

After 40 years of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship the people must be smart enough to nor only identify the dictatorship as the root cause of the nation's problems. And smart enough not to be easily conned into believing Mnangagwa is not a vulture just because he said he is not!

  2. @ Chido

After 40 years of mostly flatly denying there is no corruption and the odd occasion Zanu PF has admitted there is corrupt that party has been quick to promise “zero tolerance on corruption”, for example. Of course, corruption has got progressively worse and worse. It is fair to say any repentance you get from Mnangagwa and his cronies, if it was money, you will be going straight to prison for paddling in forgeries!

  3. I totally agree the democratic space is indeed shrinking. The question I have asked all the MDC leaders in the past and will continue to ask until I get a satisfactory answer is: Why has MDC failed to implement even one democratic reform in the last 20 years?

We would not be in this mess still if MDC had implemented the democratic changes they promised at the launch of the party in 1999! We cannot continue to complain about the democratic space shrinking when we do nothing to end the oppression even when we get the golden opportunity to do so.

We must stop complaining of Zanu PF rigging the elections when we are the ones who give the vote rigging Zanu PF regime legitimacy by participating in flawed and illegal elections.

"MDC has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!" insisted Nelson Chamisa before the 2018 elections. And yet the party failed to get ZEC to produce something as basic as a verified voters' roll - a legal and common sense requirement!

Zanu PF has not made any effort to implement any reforms because the party knows that when push comes to shove MDC leaders will participate in the next elections with not even a verified voters' roll as long as Zanu PF assures them it is still giving away a few gravy train seats! All these calls for democratic space by Mahere and others is all the usual grandstanding and posturing by the MDC silver-backs, fighting for attention but otherwise of no consequences. Come elections the silver-backs will be fighting each other for the bait seats and thus giving Zanu PF legitimacy! Sick and tired of this MDC nonsense!

  4. "Rest assured that the enemies of progress and economic growth of our country will never win as long as we remain united!” said Mnangagwa. Well the enemies of progress and economic growth have remain in power for the last 40 years and counting. Mnangagwa himself has seen to it that Zanu PF remained in power by ruthless imposing the de facto one-party state.

He promised to end corruption, the number cancer that has killed the economy, and yet it continues to thrive.

He promised free, fair and credible elections the pre-requisite for good governance and progress, and he went on to blatantly rig the elections and shot dead 7 innocent people for daring to protest against yet another rigged elections.

What Mnangagwa meant is “Rest assured Zanu PF will remain in power! Zanu PF ichatoga! Ichigoba! Imi muchigohukura! Nokuhukura! (Zanu PF will rule! And loot! Whilst you (calling for reforms) bark! And bark!)"

It is high time the people of Zimbabwe wake-up to the reality that Zanu PF is taking them for a ride! The enemies of progress and economic growth are the ones responsible for all the wholesale looting that has been taking place these last 40 years and they have rigged elections to remain in power so they can continue the looting! The people must demand that Zanu PF steps down so the nation can finally implement the reforms and end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance.

Zanu PF rigged the last elections, the party has no mandate to govern and Mnangagwa is using the fudged legitimacy to remain in power to loot!

  5. He claimed the police boss does not have O’Level qualifications.

“He realises that as a mere ZIPAM diploma holder on behest of ZRP (sic), having been promoted to the post of the country’s police chief is a vulnerable position because his deputies are more educated than him, with Masters and even PhD degrees,” Chihuri said.

“He does not even hold an O’ Level certificate, which is a basic requirement for a constable to join the police.

“It goes on to show that he was rewarded for being a willing participant in the coup process and not on merit.”

Chihuri said Matanga lied to then Zimbabwe Defence Forces commander and now Vice-President Constantino Chiwenga that he (Chihuri) wanted to arrest him upon his return from China at Robert Mugabe International Airport just before the coup.

There is no denying Augustine Chihuru is corrupt just as those in government accusing him of corruption are themselves just as corrupt. They are all corrupt.

Chihuru knows a lot of dirty on Matanga, Chiwenga, Mnangagwa and many, many others still in power today and, naturally, he will use the dirty to bury his accusers. Chihuri knows that he is going down and is making it clear that he is determined to drag down as many of his former Zanu PF colleagues as he can!
