"Now is the time to liberate ourselves" - Why NOW? New Dotito puppy tale of the unexpected N Garikai

Zimbabwe’s corrupt and incompetent politicians, right across the political divide, take the Zimbabwean electorate for fools!

It was only after Joice Mujuru was booted out; “baby dumped”, as Grace Mugabe gleefully boasted; of Zanu PF in 2014 that she finally discovered she had a voice to against corrupt and oppression. And yet just a few months before she had address a Zanu PF Women’s League meeting in Chinhoyi in which she had categorically denied there was corruption in the country. Thanks to modern technology, someone had recorded her speech and it went viral.

“Mwana wembwa haasvinuri zura raazvarwa!” (A puppy does not open its eyes the day it is born!) Mujuru explain when asked why she had never criticized Zanu PF corruption and tyranny whilst she was still in power.

We are to believe that Dotito (Mujuru’s home area) puppies take 34 years just to open their eyes!

The High Court ruling, confirmed by the Supreme Court on 30 March, that Nelson Chamisa’s seizure of power following Tsvangirai’s death had indeed violated the MDC constitution; has thrown the cat among the pigeons. The Court ruling nullify the succession and the leadership of the power was handed to Thokozani Khupe, the cat, in a silver platter.

Since the 2018 palace coup Chamisa and his supporters had given Khupe and her lot a torrid time made worse by the humiliating performance of her faction in the July 2018 elections. The Court gave have the sword with which to administer her revenge and, by Jove, she has been slashing merciless; right, centre and left.

It is a bloodbath in the MDC cage. 13 MDC legislators have been recalled and Madam Khupe is not done yet!

"The enemies of the struggle claim to have recalled me. l was sponsored by MDC Alliance and voted by the people of Mkoba. My Parliament is in Mkoba. We remain focused to free the people of Zimbabwe from the jaws of poverty emanating from the legitimacy crisis and massive corruption from Zanu-PF,” said Amos Chibaya, one of the recalled MPs.

“To the MDC Alliance family and all Zimbabweans who want to see change lets remain strong and focused. We cannot be silenced, the time is now to liberate ourselves."

The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elected MDC leaders into power on the understanding the party will implement the democratic changes the nation has been dying for all these last 40 years. MDC has been on the political stage for 20 years, 5 of which in the GNU, and has failed to implement even one democratic reform. Not one!

If MDC leaders had indeed remained “focused to free the people of Zimbabwe” then the party would have implemented all the democratic reforms especially during the 2008 to 2013 GNU when they had their best chance!

“The time is now to liberate ourselves!” So, MDC did not implement even one token reform all these last 20 years because the party was waiting for the right time – NOW!

Why now, one might well ask? That is easy to answer, Amos Chibaya and his MDC colleagues recalled have lost their gravy-train seat in parliament or senate together with all the generous salary and allowance that goes with it. To win back their gravy-train seats they must win the confidence of the electorate by pretending, if elected, they will this time implement the reforms to secure freedom, free elections, economic recovery, etc.

So, MDC did not implement even one democratic reform these last 20 years because it was the wrong time to do so. This is a typical Zimbabwe political tale from the unexpected to add to the Dotito puppy that took 34 years to open her sexy eyes and many, many more such tales!

  1. Mai Mujuru was at the heart of the Zanu PF government for 34 years and throughout those years she said and did everything to help establish and retain the de facto Zanu PF one-party dictatorship. As a senior member of the regime she took her lion’s share of the power and the looted wealth. She certainly saw and heard nothing wrong.

It was only after she lost her high-table gravy train seat that she was aware of the mismanagement, corruption, tyrannical repression, the vote rigging and the murders. Our MDC friends, Amos Chibaya, have too just lost their gravy-train seats and all the political and economic benefits that comes with it. They are now talking to the people about “Now is the time to liberating ourselves!”

Why has MDC not implemented the reforms and liberated the people all those last 20 years. Why has the nation been forced to wait until now? Why NOW?

Well the Dotito puppy did take 34 years to open her sexy eyes! It took the act of being “baby dumped” to open the sexy eyes.

It has taken the MDC leaders 20 years to open their eyes and ears to the reality they have not implemented even one reform in all their 20 years on the political stage. It took the act of being recalled to wake them up to that political reality.

Of course, it was not her detest of corruption, vote rigging, etc. the had our Dotito puppy fired up to openly criticize her former mentor the late Robert Mugabe, that was just a front. If she found corruption so repugnant then she should have given up her amassed lot. No what had the Dotito puppy fired up like a rocket was the desperate need to get back on the gravy train so she can continue looting from where she left off!

Of course, he and his fellow MDC friends know that as long as Zanu PF is allow to rig the elections the hope of “liberating ourselves” will remain a pipe dream. And yet Chibaya will participate in the next by-election with no reforms as long as there is a chance of him winning his gravy train seat back. He is that desperate to win!

The people os Zimbabwe need to wake up to the reality of these opportunist politicians who profess to care about freedom, liberty, justice and human dignity for to be elected into office only to sell-out of those values as soon as they are in power!

“Behold, I send you like sheep among wolves, you must be as shrewd as a snake and as gentle as a dove!” said Jesus of Nazareth.

Zimbabweans have elected to remain naïve, gullible and helpless as a child. Politicians from across the political divide has exploited them to no end!

  2. Alarm as Zimbabwe run out of ARV drugs!

40 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption have left Zimbabwe in economic ruins and the chickens are coming home to roost!

  3. President Emmerson Mnangagwa's government has banned the use of mobile money platforms with immediate effect.

In a statement issued by Secretary for Information Ndabaningi Nick Mangwana, thew move was a follow up to a threat made by Mnangagwa at the burial of national hero Stanley Gagisa recently.

Said Mangwana, "Ecocash, OneMoney, Telecash and MyCash Mobile Money platforms are all complicit in illicit activities in varying degrees. Ecocash, however, which controls nearly 94% of all mobile money transactions, is the centre pivot of this problem and its resultant impact on Zimbabwe's economy.

"The impact is exacerbated by the existence of fake counters on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange, which are epitomized by the so-called Old Mutual Implied Exchange Rate (OMIR). This, in turn, results in four or more US:ZWL parallel market exchange rates operating in the market. At-any time, therefore, there is the official rate, an Ecocash rate, OneMoney rate and the OMIR among others.

"AS the RBZ Governor aptly observed recently, there are multiple contrived phantom exchange rates in use in the Zimbabwe Economy, which conspire to defeat fiscal policy."

This is just a knee-jerk reaction, kiya kiya, and like all such responsible they either have no effect or make a bad situation worse!

Like it or not this Zanu PF regime has no clue what it is doing. None!

The way out of this mess is for Zanu PF to step down to allow the appointment of an interim regime that will be tasked to implement the democratic reforms leading to internationally recognised free, fair and credible election and a competent government.

Zanu PF rigged the 2018 elections confirming the country’s present status as a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thugs. Zanu PF has no democratic mandate to govern the country. The party is holding the nation to ransom! This must end!

  4. @Zulu

“Mr Mukori and Zsdemocrats come with solutions instead of pointing fingers remember you can't fix your past but the future.”

I hear you but will beggar to differ. Time spend point fingers at what we have done wrong is not wasted. The last 40 years has been a stead descend into hell, we have been making the same foolish mistakes over and over again. In this case the mistake is being naïve and gullible so that village idiots like Mai Mujuru and Amos Chibaya would take advantage of us.

Trust me many Zimbabweans have believed Mujuru’s Dotito puppy taking 34 years to open their eyes nonsense. If you doubt it ask yourself what those hundreds of thousands who came out to support the November 2017 coup were doing? If anyone deserved to be taken straight to the gallows it is Emmerson Mnangagwa and yet many people wanted to “give him another chance!” A chance to rig the elections, continue the wholesale looting, etc., etc. and surprise, surprise that is exactly what he has been doing with renewed vigour!

Chibaya is talking about “Now is the time to liberate ourselves!” Well some one have to point a finger at the historic fact that MDC have been on the political stage for 20 years and have not implemented even one reform. Of course, MDC leaders have sold-out big time. There are hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans out there who have continue to follow these MDC sell-outs regardless. If you cannot see that is why we are stuck, I can.

The solution to our economic and political crisis is first and foremost acknowledging our past mistake. How else can you avoid what you do not see!

  5. @ Abednico Mwembe

“We have heard that kind of unfounded lies from you. Your lies are twins to Zanu lies. You can't say so and so is corrupt with out proof . No sane MDC Alliance supporters take you serious anyway. The people '' project is unstoppable viva Chamisa viva Welshman viva Biti viva Sikhala viva David Coltart viva!!!!!!!”

You and I have crossed swords before, you still have your head buried in the sand and hence the reason you cannot see what is there before you. The High Court judgement confirmed what we all knew all along that Chamisa behaved like a Zanu PF thug; you can call that a lie all you want, it is a historic fact.

I have dismissed MDC supporters as naïve, gullible sheep who follow blindly, no questions asked. And so I agree with you that no MDC supporters take me seriously but beg to differ that any of them are “sane”.

Just for the record, it has occurred to me that you are the buffoon you pretend to be. You are a Zanu PF double agent whose primary purpose is to cheer and applaud MDC leaders and supporters down this disastrous path. “People’s project is unstoppable!” Yeah right! After 20 years MDC has not implemented even one reform and only a Zanu PF thug or double agent would see that as real progress!

If I complemented Chamisa or any of the MDC leaders then it must have been before the 2008 to 2013 GNU. In failing to implement even one democratic reform when they had the golden opportunity to do so they proved beyond all doubt that they are breathtakingly corrupt and incompetent and beyond the pale!

Chamisa et al have just committed hara-kiri and the nation is the better for it! Now we can deal with the corrupt and murderous Zanu PF thugs ourselves and not to have to rely on double faced MDC sell-outs.

  7. Zimbabweans must wake up to the reality of these double faced politicians who talk endlessly about freedom,
justice, etc., etc. whilst they are seeking the votes. But as soon as they are in power they pursue their own selfish agenda and completely forget about their promises to the voters. After being short changed on reforms for 20 years it is surprising that many Zimbabweans have not coped on reforms have been on the national agenda for donkey years and still nothing to show for it!

If you cannot implement even one reforms after 20 years, MDC have clearly failed, then they must ship out!
