  1. “Matemadanda refused an interview on national broadcaster to explain his war credentials. He cannot even tell anyone where he trained at,” said one Shorai Nyamangodo.
The protesting group said they were earning $234 per month.

They have since petitioned government through the High Court demanding at least $2 000 per month which they claim was stipulated in the cited statutory instrument.

Dr Dadirai Chinomona, who claimed to have bombed Departmental Store (Woolworths) along First Street in Harare (then Salisbury, Rhodesia) on August 1977, told Newzimbabwe.com that government should increase their pensions to a reasonable figure and deal with the lump-sum $450 000 at a later stage.

How many of the war veterans who are now demanding increased pension have played a very active role in imposing the Zanu PF dictatorship on this nation? Rural voters were harassed and frog marched to attend Zanu PF rallies and then to vote for the party by war veterans, local traditional leaders and Zanu PF operatives.

Zimbabwe’s failure to have a healthy and functioning democratic system is the root cause of the country’s economic problems it is a great tragedy that so many people, especially war veterans have been brainwashed by Zanu PF they have struggled to grasp this concept.

The Zimbabwe economy is in total economic meltdown and you are asking for pension increments. Where do you think the money will come from! As long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state the country’s economic recovery will remain a pipe dream!

  2. “Mnangagwa promised to revive the ruined economy after he narrowly won last July’s presidential election, although opposition leader Nelson Chamisa insists he was cheated of victory.”
This is just nonsense, Mnangagwa rigged the recent elections and to suggest otherwise is plain foolish! How can an election process in which it was not possible to trace or verify any figures because there was no verified voters’ roll and V11 forms with vote count disappeared be ruled free and fair?

  3. So which has done more harm to Zimbabwe corruption or sanctions? May I remind you that Zimbabwe lost $15 billion in looted diamond revenue alone between 2009 to 2014 according to Mugabe! And will remind you too that the looting in Marange and Chidzwa continues to this day. President Mnangagwa has failed to arrest even one diamond looter after a year in office!

You must think every Zimbabwean is stupid to believe the nonsense you are saying!

  4. Nations get the government they deserve and we in Zimbabwe certainly deserve this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship complete with its full compliment of corrupt and incompetent opposition parties. A nation that would tolerate a dictatorship for 20 years only to finally reject it for a utterly useless opposition party like MDC clearly shows that it not paying attention to anything. Those who will not learn from their past mistakes will be force to repeat the lesson over and over again and pay dearly for their folly!

Obert Gutu is not the only Zimbabwean politician who has admitted they were corrupt and incompetent when they were in high office; Professor Jonathan Moyo, Joice Mujuru, Dabengwa and many others have done the same. The confession is not so much an admission of their own wrong doing but to embarrass they former colleagues who continue to enjoy power under false pretence of being squeaky clean.

I agree, now that Obert Gutu is outside the MDC Alliance tent, there is nothing he will enjoy more than piss into the tent! He is going to make it very difficult for Chamisa and friends to deny they are corrupt and incompetent!
