Kenyan judge "facilitating ED and Chamisa dialogue" - hyena midwife to a goat

Zimbabwe’s protracted political and economic crisis, exemplified by the 38 years and counting of blatant vote rigging by Zanu PF, was bound to attract attention. Sadly, many of those now poking their large noses in the matter are about as useful as a hyena playing midwife to a goat!
“While President Emmerson Mnangagwa this week ruled out and a power-sharing arrangement with the MDC Alliance, saying Zanu-PF has won a two-thirds majority in the July general elections, it has emerged that dialogue is unfolding behind the scenes, facilitated by prominent for Kenyan chief justice Willy Mutunga,” reported Zimbabwe Independent.
Everyone with even a half functional brain has said the recent Zimbabwe elections were “biased, unfair and failed to meet acceptable international standards”. In layman’s language, the elections were blatantly rigged and Zanu PF does not have the people’s mandate to govern.
This is all too familiar ground for Zanu PF and the party has done what it has always done - ignore the criticism and stoically maintain its position that the elections were free, fair and credible and that it won with a landslide victory. Presented with a fait accompli of a Zanu PF government, the Zimbabwe public have always accept the regime’s authority as a matter of fact and fate. The rest of the world has shown some resistance but sooner or latter they too bowed down to the reality of Zanu PF rule.
President Mnangagwa rigged the 30 July 2018 elections, has ignored all condemnation of the elections being flawed and illegal, and has seized all the lever of power and government. All except the economy which was decidedly in bad shape before he took over from Mugabe but he had hoped to fix but failed and now is getting worse by the day.
As long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state there is absolutely no chance of the Zimbabwe economy recovering. None! The economy is in such a mess the situation is morally, politically and socially unsustainable. It is either Mnangagwa steps down to allow the nation to finally resolve this pariah state curse and then finally focus on rebuilding the economy.
Or Mnangagwa can hang on to power whilst the country continue its economic nose dive which is bound to lead to social unrest as the limit of people’s patience and fear of the regime’s thugs is finally reached and breached. The accumulated anger in the nation, after 38 years of brutal repression and abuse, is so great that once breached it will unleash a tsunami wave that no one will be able to contain.
Mnangagwa and his cronies will be held to account for all the death and destruction that violent revolution will bring since they are the one refusing peaceful change. exceeded.
What Zimbabwe needs right now is for Mnangagwa et al to accept they are illegitimate and step down. The last thing the country needs is these idiots telling these Zanu PF thugs can still hang on to power if they allowed Chamisa and a few MDC Alliance a few seats on the gravy train.
Zanu PF is illegitimate because it rigged the recent elections. Bringing in Chamisa and a few others into the illegitimate regime will not change anything; Zimbabwe will still be a pariah state with or without Chamisa in government.
Chief justice Willy Mutunga, we do not need a Mnangagwa and Chamisa dialogue because all the two would talk about is how to extend their rule. Zimbabwe has no legitimate government because the recent elections were flawed and illegal. We need Zanu PF to step down and you are wasted our time with your foolish suggestion. Please go back to Kenya, we do not want you here!
My fear is as Zimbabwe sinks deeper and deeper into the abyss we will have more and more people like Chief Justice Mutunga from Kenya and our own local ones like Pastor Munyeza and Chamisa and his MDC Alliance all offering all manner of solution with one common theme - to appease Zanu PF thugs by keeping them in power at all costs. Get one hyena or vulture homing-in on a potential meal and all the hyenas and vultures from far and wide will all be gravitate to the same spot. The danger is the voices of reason are being drowned out by all the yapping and gawking from the hyenas and vultures.

The hyenas are all ignoring the fact that Zanu PF rigged the elections because keeping the illegitimate regime in power serves their selfish interests; as long as the Zimbabwe crisis remains they are guaranteed a job - mediating in the crisis, of course! They are determined to sell us the idea that Zimbabwe can still be a prosperous nation and keep the corrupt and vote rigging dictatorship.

The yapping and gawking is now fever pitch high, one cannot hear oneself think! After 38 years of this charade and with the nation's future hanging precariously on the edge of the precipice we cannot afford to waste time arguing endlessly with these selfish scavengers. We need a shoot to kill all the marauding scavengers policy!

  1. It is slowly but surely dawning on Mnangagwa and his cronies that there will be nothing to be gained from forming the GNU with Chamisa and his lot. The elections were judged flawed and illegal on the basis of what happened on the ground; ZEC results had numerous errors, they could not be traced or verified, etc. Accepting MDC Alliance into the Zanu PF government will not change the flaws or make them go away. Zanu PF will still be illegitimate.

President Mnangagwa brought in people like Professor Mthuli Ncube into his government confident they will win his some brownie points and it did but still not enough to change the reality that he rigged the elections. Bring MDC Alliance into his government will have the same effect, a few brownie points, nothing to change the pariah state status.

The people of Zimbabwe must also wake up to the political reality that a Zanu PF government, with or without MDC Alliance, will never implement the democratic reforms necessary to ensure free, fair and credible elections in 2023. Zimbabwe needs Zanu PF to step down if the country is to have an hope of ever holding free, fair and credible elections - the pre-requisite to getting out of the hell-hole we are stuck in right now.

  2. @ Manesi

MDC Alliance should have never participated in any elections without first implementing the reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. The only reason they did is greed; they knew Zanu PF will be giving away some gravy train seats, to entice, the opposition to take part and it has worked like a charm. The opposition participated even when ZEC failed to produce something as basic as a verified voters' roll!

MDC Alliance got the scraps they were after and so they never complained. Chamisa is complaining about the presidential results only because he expected Zanu PF to reward him too for participating in the flawed elections. He was cocksure he would be rewarded with some ministerial appointment.

  3. Zimbabwe's security top brass have been compromised, they have been the top beneficiaries of the wholesale looting of Zimbabwe's diamonds as can be seen from the amassed wealth of people like Chiwenga, former Police Commissioner Augustine Chihuri, etc. The looting in Marange and Chiadzwa has continued since last November's coup because Mnangagwa still needs to keep these individuals happy.

Mnangagwa has zero tolerance on corruption - yeah right!
