PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa's government should drop charges against former finance minister and opposition leader Tendai Biti to prove that the Harare administration is "serious about taking the country in a new, more positive direction". This was said by the United States' Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Africa Matthew Harrington Thursday in a statement to the Senate Committee on foreign relations. Could not agree with the Americans more! The charges against Biti are politically motivated and foolish. We have the real criminals, those who blatantly rigged the elections going scot free and instead they take it upon themselves to harass the victims of the political criminal activities! This nonsense must stop.
