"Mnangagwa's moves are intelligent, complicated and effective" - what a laugh, name one, just one, such move P Guramatunhu

“Highly placed sources from Harare have indicated that President Emmerson Mnangagwa is vetting MDC MPs who are under consideration to form a quasi-government of national unity,” reported Bulawayo 24.

“Insiders from the dreaded Central Intelligence Organisation's National security department known as Branch 5 who spoke to this reporter have indicated that there is an internal process which is underway and is being kept a closely guarded secret to do background checks and ensure that the MDC candidates handpicked to be part of the cabinet will accept the appointments.”

When Mnangagwa and his cronies booted Mugabe out of office in the November 2017 military coup the putsch were cocksure they would revive the country’s comatose economy. “Zimbabwe is open for business!” crowed Mnangagwa at every opportunity. Now two years since the coup the penny has finally dropped that the expected flood of investors and new money to kick-start the economy was not coming.

As much as Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF regime would hate to admit it, it is nonetheless crystal clear the regime has no clue what to do to fix the economy. Meanwhile the economic meltdown is getting worse and worse as the soaring inflation, chronic shortages, etc. show. Anyone with half a brain can see the economic situation in Zimbabwe is socially, politically and morally unsustainable.

No one is therefore surprised to hear that Mnangagwa is now actively pursuing the option of sharing power with Chamisa and his MDC party. “I have the key to unlock the economy!” Chamisa claimed. Every analyst worthy of the name has dismissed the claim as political posturing but the very fact that Mnangagwa is taking this up goes to show just how desperate he must be. Desperate people do desperate things!
As for the report of CIO carefully sifting through MDC leaders to make sure those selected to be cabinet ministers “will accept the appointments”. This is just a waste of time because not even one MDC leaders will refuse. They all participated in last year’s elections knowing fully well the whole election process was flawed and illegal. They also knew that Zanu PF would be giving away a few gravy-train parliamentary or senatorial seats and it was these seats they were after. A cabinet post is a significant upgrade none of them would refuse.

"Number 1 is a man who comes from an intelligence background and all his political moves and steps are from a position of intelligence,” the source told the Bulawayo 24 reporter. “You need to understand who Emmerson Mnangagwa is by training in order to decipher his moves. His moves come from a counter-intelligence strength and his political plays are very complicated yet effective."

NAME ONE, JUST ONE, EFFECTIVE MOVE, COMPLICATED OR OTHERWISE, MNANGAGWA HAS EVER MADE IN HIS WHOLE LIFE! I found myself shouting at the screen.

Mnangagwa “intelligent” whose “moves are complicated and yet effective”! What a big laugh! Mnangagwa, just like Mugabe before, is a corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and ruthless and murderous thug; yes. Intelligent, certainly not!

Zimbabwe is one of the few countries in human history that has suffered some of the most rapid economic decline because of the sheer incompetence of the country’s leaders. There was no war, no natural disaster, nothing but the blundering incompetence of the country’s leaders. Some of Zanu PF’s voodoo economic policies defied logic and common sense. How some of those Zanu PF ever got their University degrees, PhDs, professorships, etc., etc. is a mystery.

If Mnangagwa was smart then he would have realised a long time ago that the Zanu PF dictatorship was doomed to implode because the system was rotten to the core. He would have realised that Mugabe had completely destroyed the country’s economy and platitudes like “Zimbabwe is open for business!” were not enough to revive the economy. He should have realised too that he would not get away with yet another rigged elections.

If Mnangagwa was intelligent, he would know that the best and only course of action was for him to acknowledge he rigged last year’s elections and agree to step down without any further ado! If Mnangagwa goes into this political marriage of convenience with MDC, it is Mnangagwa who will end with a lot of egg on his face. Chamisa and company will secure gravy train seats and Mnangagwa will gain nothing because the economic meltdown will not end.

As long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thugs the country’s economy will never recover. No one investor likes to do business with thugs. Adding Chamisa and a few other MDC leaders to the Zanu PF regime will not fool anyone much less the savvy investors!

Mnangagwa intelligent – what a laugh! What else did you want him to do to finally convince you he is just a village idiot who got luck and was promoted way beyond his level of competence!

  1. MDC President Nelson Chamisa has declared an end to his call for seven days of prayer and fasting declaring that the next stage is to take action.

This is just as blasphemous as Grace Mugabe claiming her husband was “chosen by God to lead Zimbabwe!”

Nelson Chamisa is asking the people of Zimbabwe to believe “God is in it!” whatever action he will be announcing next. How do we know? The seven days of prayer and fasting were successful and we, the people of Zimbabwe, have raised our voices to the Lord in prayer and He heard us. How do we know the Lord heard us? Chamisa said so!

None of us can ever “prove” the Lord is not in whatever plans Chamisa has for us no more than we could ever “prove” the Lord did not anoint Mugabe to rule Zimbabwe. What we can do is make a reasoned assessment of the facts. Ever since Mugabe got into power he has ruthlessly denied the ordinary Zimbabweans their basic freedoms, human rights and human dignity for selfish gain. Where in the Bible has God ever chosen as His messenger a man or woman whose heart is as black as coal and whose hands are bright red with the shed blood of the innocent?

Chamisa is asking the nation to join him in pushing Mnangagwa to share power with MDC in a new GNU. We know that the last GNU accomplished nothing because MDC leaders “sat, ate and did nothing for five years,” as Chamisa himself has since admitted. It is naïve to believe this new GNU will accomplish anything. It is completely out of the question to even suggest God would ever be in a plan to get Chamisa and his MDC friends back on the gravy train to “sit, eat and do nothing” at the expense of the long suffering ordinary Zimbabweans.

God is NOT in this new GNU no more that God ever anointed Mugabe to rule Zimbabwe!

  2. Mnangagwa is a corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thug and a hell lot of other things but certainly not intelligent. His 40 years in power shows the man does not have any common sense much less intelligence.

  3. In one of the most insightful and informative BBC 2 NewsNight programmes I have ever listened to the presenter assembled a number of individuals to talk about Prime Minister Theresa May just hours after she had tearful announced she was resigning. The consensus was that she had bluffed her way into No 10 but had no clue what she was doing. "I am Theresa May!" she had said during her campaign to be leader. People had given her the benefit of the doubt that she had what it takes to be PM.

One of the panelist on NewsNight related a story she had written a few weeks into Mrs May's premiership speculating on how there seemed to be no plan on the number one issue of Brexit. She then next met senior civil servants on the know of the going-on in No. 10 on the subjects who told her "It is worse than you think!"

The program reminded me so much of Mnangagwa and his "Zimbabwe is open for business!" The arrogance, enthusiasm and cocky posturing certainly swept many off their feet not least the British Ambassador to Zimbabwe Ms Catriana Lang. I will admit there were many occasions I was forced to ask myself was there something else they see in Mnangagwa and I have missed.

When Mnangagwa blatantly rig the 2018 elections he certainly vindicated those of us who had refuse to be believe he was just the same old corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thug masquerading as a democrat.

Those who had given him the benefit of the doubt that he understood what Mugabe had done wrong to chase away investors and he had a plan to put all that right were disappointed when it turned out he had no clue what to do. He genuinely believed that his taking over from Mugabe was enough to convince investors "Zimbabwe was open for business!"

So, just as the British soon discovered that when it came to a Brexit plan P M May's head was empty; it was the same with Mnangagwa when it came to ideas to revive the country's comatose economy, his head is empty. Whilst the British's healthy and functioning democracy kicked in and the nation has replaced T May we have a de facto one-party dictatorship we are stuck with Mnangagwa.

Mnangagwa is intelligent; that is just a sick joke!

The very fact that Mnangagwa has managed to rig elections and get away with it all these years is a measure of just how corrupt and incompetent the opposition politicians are. Still Chamisa may be able to get the better of Mnangagwa and force the thug into a power sharing arrangement only to soon realise Chamisa has no key to unlock economic recovery!

  4. Mupfumira is facing criminal abuse of office charges after she allegedly siphoned US$95 from Nssa when he was Public Service minister.

But she denies the allegations arguing that the case is a civil one between Nssa and Metbank.

High Court Judge, Erica Ndewere heard Mupfumira's bail application.

She reserved the judgement on the matter indefinitely

As long as Zanu PF remains in power all these corruption charges will pick a select few Zanu PF leaders leaving many of the Godfathers of corruption untouched. The is no doubt that VP Chiwenga, Minister P Shiri, Minister S Moyo and many other senior members of the Army, Police and CIO were the principal beneficiaries of the wholesale looting of Marange and Chiadzwa diamonds. It is nonsense that ZACC chairperson who is Minister S Moyo’s wife will ever arrest her husband!

  5. Even Mnangagwa's cronies must know by now that Mnangagwa is certainly not intelligent.

After decades in power Kamuzu Banda was finally toppled. He was taken to SA for treatment and the doctors drained water out of his head which explained why his rule had been a disaster for Malawi. It will be no surprise that Mnangagwa too is found to have water instead of brain!

  6. To have to choose between Mugabe and Mnangagwa is like having to choose between a cobra and a black mamba! What is the difference will it make to the victim who is suffering and dying from the snake bite!
