"Zimbawe will rise!" says Musewe, the dreamer - pipe dream, whilst ignoring Zanu PF's vote rigging N Garikai

My brother Vince Musewe is back with a bang! Ever since he parted company with Tendai Biti and his PDP a year or so ago, Vince has been very quiet. If he was on sabbatical, he clearly learnt nothing because he has come back to talk about the same rubbish!

“It is the ability of skilled technicians, prudent accountants, ethical lawyers, experienced engineers and disciplined administrators, industrious farmers, good miners and creative entrepreneurs all of which we have in abundance both locally and in the diaspora which can unlock our potential. Ours is to merely harness their skills and create the necessary space for them to do what they do best,” he wrote in an article, tellingly entitled “Zimbabwe will rise!”  in Bulawayo 24.

“A compelling inclusive national vision which accepts the above principles as sacrosanct combined with competent management and an alignment of government policies which are consistent and well thought out can truly unlock our full potential as a country, improve our quality of life and create wealth for ourselves and generations to come.

You have a knack for telling us what we already know but always fall flat on your face when it comes to telling us what we NEED TO KNOW. We already know that Zimbabwe has some of the best skilled and hard-working people “in abundance both locally and in the diaspora”, for example. What you have not told us is why has the country failed to put all those skilled and hard-working men and women to good use for the good of the nation.

Why has Zimbabwe been cursed with the criminal, absolutely criminal, waste of the nation’s vast material and human resources?

“A compelling inclusive national vision blah, blah, blah!” does not answer the burning question; why is Zimbabwe is such a total mess?

It is not that Vince Musewe does not know the answer to why Zimbabwe has blundered from pillar to post dragging the nation deeper and deeper into this hell-on-earth we find ourselves in. He does. The root cause of all Zimbabwe’s economic a political problems is Zanu PF thugs!

For the last 38 years and counting the nation has been stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical regime that has rigged the elections to stay in power regardless of the people’s democratic wishes. The people have seen Zanu PF’s criminal waste of the nation’s resources but have been totally helpless to stop it.

President Mnangagwa has just blatantly rigged this year’s elections denying 2 to 3 million Zimbabweans in the diaspora, Zanu PF forced leave as economic and/or political refugees, and many others the vote. Zanu PF owes its 2/3 landslide victory to rural voters the party machinery has reduced to nothing more that medieval serfs beholden to the landlord, Zanu PF and the hundreds of thousands of ghost voters.

Since the 2008 elections Zanu PF has increased the number of polling stations from 2 000 to over 11 000, over 550%. The party has used this glut in polling stations to bus its supporters from one station to the next casting multiple vote. The regime has seen to it that no voters’ roll, the smoking gun to most of the vote rigging shenanigans, is ever produced.

President Mnangagwa will be appointing his new cabinet, he will be looking at rewarding those who helped him secure power in last November’s military coup and rig the just ended elections. He has just dished out 90 new twin cab Isuzu trucks to the Chiefs, the outstanding balance of the 282, to thank them for frog marching the rural populous to vote for Zanu PF.

Mnangagwa’s priority will be to consolidating his hold on power; he is not interested in Zimbabwe rising out of the mess, if that happened then it is a bonus!

So Mr Vince Musewe, you can witter all you like about Zimbabwe rising from the economic ruins, the Phoenix rising from the ashes; that will remain a pipe dream as long as nothing is done to stop the vote rigging that has allowed Zanu PF to drag us into this mess and keep us prisoners.

  1. @ J Moyo

"It's irrational to keep doing or talking about the same thing for more than two decades & expect a different result. Forget about REFORMS. Zanu PF will not reform from within or be reformed from outside. What is CONSTITUTIONALLY needed is a revolutionary approach for a REVOLUTION!"

No one has ever serious talked of reforms from within Zanu PF because those who have joined the party have often done so from the stand point of "If you cannot beat them joint them!" Jonathan Moyo should know this because he is certainly one of these political prostitutes!

It is possible to implement the reforms from outside Zanu PF, just because Morgan Tsvangirai and his corrupt and incompetent MDC sold-out does not mean it cannot be done! If the MDC leaders were not so greedy and short-sighted and had insisted on ZEC producing a verified voters' roll, for example. Zanu PF would have found it a hell-lot more difficult to rig these elections!

It has been noticeably lacking in Zimbabwe is politicians with common sense!

  2. Matemadanda said it was the war veterans' belief that the country could only move forward if Chamisa accepts Mnangagwa's invitation to work with him.

"However, working together starts with the loser recognising the winner as the legitimate president because that is what happened when (the late MDC leader Morgan) Tsvangirai formed a Government of National Unity with (former president Robert) Mugabe.

"Tsvangirai was adamant, initially, but he calmed and accepted that the country needed to move forward; that is what Chamisa must do because there is no development when the leaders are not pulling in one direction," he said.

The trouble with people like Victor Matemadanda is that he is just an empty vessel who was promoted, by virtue of political accident in being a freedom fighter, way above his level of competence. He and many of his rogue war veterans believe they are smarter that everyone else hence the reason they must have the veto over everyone when it comes to political matters.

The idiots have been used and abused, as one would expect with empty vessels, by Robert Mugabe whom they foolishly imposed on the nation. And now they are imposing Mnangagwa. The idiots cannot get their heads round the simple fact that Zanu PF rigged these elections.

The 2008 GNU was not born out of Tsvangirai recognising Mugabe as the winner of that year's elections. This is just a tale told by an idiot with no clue or respect of historic facts.

Yes people like Matemadanda helped fight to end white colonial rule but in idiots like him the nation removed one lot of oppressors only to inherit another!

  3. "NATION BUILDING AND MODERNIZING ZIMBABWE:
…To move forward Zim needs truth, dialogue, healing, peace and citizens' consensus based on good governance and human rights. To end all disputes, we need a package of legal and political reforms to transform the way the state elections are run," tweeted Chamisa.

So are you now telling us we need reforms? You are the one who ignored those who were calling for reforms BEFORE the elections. "MDC has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!" you insisted.

Mr Chamisa you have one thing in common with Mnangagwa and Mugabe and your late boss Morgan Tsvangirai - you never admit that you failed. You still see yourself as the Lord God's blessing to the nation even when events have just proven you are corrupt and incompetent.

Chamisa, you are corrupt and incompetent and you are a waste of space. The best service you can do to this nation right now is for you to completely retire from public life. You are finished!

  4. "Yet another fraud, yet another disputed election but we will survive this as we have survived before.
We are strong, we are tough and we are faithful to values of decency, truth, democracy and social justice. Those who have stolen from the people must know the fight is on…," tweeted Biti.

What are you wittering about? You were warned that Zanu PF will rig the elections if you participated without first implementing the reforms.

We know why you and all your MDC friends would not listen - greed!

"The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn't now do the obvious - withdraw from the (2013) elections," David Coltart, your fellow MDC leader, confessed in his book.

"The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility."

You, Coltart and a handful others won the few gravy train seats in these elections and you are all over the moon with joy. You do not care that by participating you gave credibility to the flawed and illegal process or the suffering another five years of Zanu PF misrule will bring to the nation.

The west must extend the same targeted sanction on opposition sell-outs like you because for the last decade it is you lot who have help Zanu PF rig elections and stay in power.

"The fight is on!" Yes but for povo, we must now fight the Zanu PF thugs and the opposition sell-outs who are running with the hare but hunting with the hounds!

  5. Vince Musewe is a waste of time and space. It does not matter how many times one tells him that Zimbabwe's immediate problem is a political one, ending the Zanu PF dictatorial rule, only then can we address the economic problems; he simply refuses to listen. He cannot think a working solution to end the Zanu PF dictatorship and so he focuses all his effort on the economic policies.

In his naive and childish mind he believes that by ignoring the political problems they will all go away. The opposite has happened, Zanu PF has become more and more deeply entrenched and therefore more difficult to remove from office as the years have gone by. Meanwhile the economic situation has got worse and worse forcing more and more people into heart-breaking abject poverty.

"Answer the question you have been asked. You will not get any marks for answering the question you wanted the examiner to have asked," my high school Physics Teacher used to say.

I have since this is even more relevant in one's life and even more so to the nation as the mistake can result in untold human misery and even human lives!

  6. @ Joh So

"I don't know this Vince dude, but one thing for a sure, the dreamer is you (Nomusa) You don't have any shred of rigging evidence. It's getting old. Stop misleading people.

"Show respect to rural voters. Zanu pf is doing a pretty decent job helping those poor folks survive. You guys in UK get unemployment benefits and you scream when Zanu PF gives rural folks seed packs. What do you want them to do? Shame on you.

"And who told you that those 2-3m Diasporas were going to vote opposition? Vuka," you said.

And if the rural folk dare to vote for someone as happened in 2008, Zanu PF thugs harassed, beat, raped and even murder over 500 as punishment! Of course the rural voters are nothing more than serfs and Zanu PF must admit it and stop lying that elections are free, fair and credible. Citizens enjoy the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country; serfs do not.

Does it matter whom the people were going to vote for? They are Zimbabwean and every Zimbabwean have a right to a meaningful vote!
