"Army has been deployed, it is not a picnic!" twittered J Moyo - looking business end of AK 47 P Guramatunhu

"I repeat what I said in 2002: WHERE THE ARMY IS DEPLOYED, DON'T EXPECT A PICNIC. When the Army was deployed in 2008, it was not a picnic, it was a reversal of a poll result; and when it was deployed last Nov, it wasn't a picnic, it was a COUP!" Twittered Professor Jonathan Moyo.

Yes we know OH EVIL ONE, “Devil incarnate!” as the murderous tyrant, Robert Mugabe himself once called you. When the army was deployed in 2008, you saw nothing wrong. Indeed, as the regime’s minister of propaganda Professor Moyo has played his role in white-washing the corruption, vote rigging and thuggery that have taken place in the country dragging us to where we are today – standing on the edge of the abyss, hell-on-earth.

We are looking up the business end of a loaded shot-gun in the hands of a madman with a twitchy finger!

Let me say it here and now; this is one nightmare that this nation could and should have avoided. Former President Robert Mugabe, now President Emmerson Mnangagwa and all the other Zanu PF cronies and thugs are responsible for this nightmare. It was their insatiable greed for absolute power and the influence and wealth it brought that made them betray the revolutionary values of freedom, justice and human rights and dignity for all.

Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends must share the blame for the mess we are in. MDC had the golden opportunity to end the de facto Zanu PF dictatorship during the GNU, they sold-out and failed to get even one democratic reform implemented in five years!

MDC leaders were warned 100 000 times and 100 000 times again every month for the last five years not to take part in the elections without reforms but they would not listen.

“MDC has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!” insisted MDC Alliance presidential candidate, Nelson Chamisa. No doubt, Chamisa has already gone into hiding leaving innocent Zimbabweans to AF 47 wielding madman with the twitchy finger alone!

  1. Meanwhile reports made available to ZimEye.com indicate that police in Harare are hunting for Biti over his proclamation of the election result.

Biti, Chamisa and all the MDC leaders have all gone into hiding as usual! They are the ones who dragged the nation into these elections but the minute things turned nasty, scram, they all disappeared like morning mist under the Africa sun!

  2. “ZEC seeks to… reverse the people’s presidential election victory. The strategy is meant to prepare Zim mentally to accept fake presidential results,” tweeted Chamisa. “We won the popular vote and will defend it!”
You will defend it from the security of your very safe fox-hole! How typical!
MDC was warned not to take part in these elections without first implementing the reforms but you idiots would not listen. “MDC has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!” Chamisa insisted. Now we can see the idiot was lying, he had no measures to stop the rigging much less stop the violence and chaos the rigged elections have brought!
Zanu PF thugs must be held to account for the mess they have caused but so too must these MDC idiots for selling out!

  3. The violent events of today the 1st August have reminded Zimbabweans of a declaration by the Provincial Minister Josiah Hungwe 4 months ago in which he said that ZANU PF leader Emmerson Mnangagwa will shoot to stay in power. The statement was published by a well-known local Masvingo newspaper, Masvingo Mirror.

MDC were warned that these elections were not going to be free, fair and credible; they just would not listen. Their eyes were fixed on the chance to be back on the gravy train they would not see reason! There was no logical reason for going into these elections with no reforms in place, particularly with all the benefit of hindsight.

"The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn't now do the obvious - withdraw from the elections," explained Senator Coltart.

"The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility."

If there is justice in this world then MDC leaders must be held to account for their blatant betrayal of the common people!

  4. "The United States Embassy in Harare is deeply concerned by events unfolding in Harare. We urge leaders of all parties to call for calm from members of their respective parties.
"We further urge the Defence Forces of Zimbabwe to use restraint in dispersing protestors.
Zimbabwe has a historic opportunity to move the country towards a brighter future for all its citizens. Violence cannot be a part of that process."
The damage has been done, there is no hiding that Zimbabwe is still a pariah state ruled by thugs who rig elections to stay in power. There election can only be judge for what they are flawed and illegitimate. The only sensible way forward is for the process to be declared null and void.

The international community must now help set up an interim administration that will be tasked to implement the democratic reforms and then the holding of free and fair elections.

  5. We are about to go LIVE with the Minister In Charge Of The Police, Dr Obert Mpofu.
Zanu PF has been in decline for a long time. The booting out of Joice Mujuru in 2014 was a significant point, then came the firing of ED last November which was quickly followed by the booting out of Robert Mugabe himself in last November's military coup. If President Mnangagwa thought that the coup would settle Zanu PF's dog-eat-dog the reality has proven otherwise.
The rigging of these elections have only made the bad situation worse!

  6. This was so, so unnecessary and could have been avoided if only MDC had implemented the democratic reforms during the GNU. When MDC was warned not to go into the elections without reforms, again they refused to listen.

"MDC have stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!" claimed Chamisa. As we have seen, they actually had no clue how to stop the vote rigging, they had no plan B if the elections were rigged.

MDC are a breathtakingly corrupt and incompetent lot. It is a great tragedy that the people of Zimbabwe have failed to realise this all these years. This mess we are in is not going to be fixed by a corrupt and incompetent lot. We should not try to fudge it.

What Zimbabwe needs now is to revisit the raft of democratic reforms agreed at the onset of the 2008 GNU and make sure the reforms are implemented.

These elections should NOT have gone ahead without first implementing the reforms. We are where we are, the last 10 years have been a waste. We must stop this criminal waste of resources, both material and human, trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!

  7. "The government of Zimbabwe places full responsibility for the destruction of property loss of life… on the MDC Alliance…," says Home Affairs Minister Obert Mpofu.

The minister said some of the demonstrated were drunk and there have been independent reports of alcohol flowing freely at MDC HQ.

MDC leaders should have known better that engaging Zanu PF on violence was insane because this is the one area Zanu PF has excelled in. Zanu PF are thugs and by MDC supporters becoming unruly the thugs had the moral high ground and they will milk it for all it is worth!

The violent demonstrations have taken attention away from the conduct of the elections. Zanu PF's blatant vote rigging is the root cause of the political mess but the regime will pretend that this is not so. If they can pretend that a military coup is legal they will have no qualms in pretending rigging elections is legal.

Zanu PF has blamed the country's economic meltdown on the West's imposed sanctions. If the international community should try to condemn these rigged elections the regime will claim it is being punished for stopping MDC supporters causing mayhem!

Zanu PF can claim what it wish but the international community should not be deterred from condemning these flawed and illegal elections. By failing to hold free and fair elections President Mnangagwa has just reminded the whole world that Zimbabwe is still a pariah state ruled by thugs!

These elections should have never gone ahead without first implementing the reforms. MDC leaders thought they would win the elections regardless of all the Zanu PF shenanigans. If that failed, their plan B was to "make Zimbabwe ungovernable" forgetting that violence is Zanu PF's speciality second only to vote rigging!

Zimbabwe has had many golden opportunities to end the Zanu PF's corrupt and tyrannical rule but MDC has wasted them all because of they are breathtakingly corrupt and incompetent. The sooner the people of Zimbabwe realise that MDC are now a serious liability in their struggle for democratic change the soon the nation can finally focus on that important task without distractions!

  8. @ Caleb 2011

Still, we cannot deny the demonstrators were not peaceful. When you start throwing stones you cannot claim to be peaceful. Now it turns out that many of the demonstrators were drunk and MDC HQ was their drinking hole!

This was clearly a trap and MDC supporters fall for it! When it comes to use of violence, you do not take Zanu PF and expect to win!

  9. The leader of the African Union elections Observer mission Hailemariam Dessalegn Boshe has broke silence on the violent uprising by the MDC Alliance supporters which erupted in Harare yesterday.

Hailemariam Dessalegn Boshe views with concern the unfolding post-election developments in Zimbabwe, and calls on all stakeholders, particularly political leaders and their supporters, to exercise restraint and avoid violent confrontation. He also calls on security agencies to equally exercise restraint and ensure the safety of all citizens.

Zanu PF was fishing for a violent reaction from MDC to the delay in announcing the results and we should not be surprised that Zanu PF double agents worked the double shift on this one! So now the focus is on the violent protestors and not the rigged elections!

What cannot be denied by anyone with any brain is that President Mnangagwa and his junta have just told the whole world that Zimbabwe is still a pariah state ruled by thugs with a panache to rig elections! Zimbabwe is NOT open for business because until it seizes to be a pariah state no one will invest in the country, not even the Chinese!

  10. President Emmerson Mnangagwa has issued a message of condolence to families of the victims of yesterday's shooting which occurred in Harare's central business district and left 3 people dead and several others injured.

    What a hypocrite!

Here is the man whose thirst for causing heart-breaking human suffering and shedding innocent blood is unquenchable. He has been a key player in this de facto one party dictatorship that has caused untold human misery and the death of over 30 000 Zimbabweans. He is the one behind the treasonous outrage of rigging these elections the consequences of which are condemning this nation to the economic chaos Zanu PF has brought on the nation and the political instability of which these street protests are only the beginning.

If President Mnangagwa really care about the ordinary people then he would know that the greatest thing he and his junta can do the nation now is for them to step down and allow the nation to rebuild from the ruins they left!
