With the swearing in of the new
President Mnangagwa now out of the way, Zanu PF's spin-doctors, propagandists
and apologists are out in full force selling the new regime as the breath of
fresh air! They have their work cut out, a skunk even one soaked in Channel 5,
will never pass for a breath of fresh air - not for those who know a skunk when
they see one!
“This election has been Zimbabwe’s
worst and most toxic with citizens insulting each other, but those who suffered
the brunt of that negativity should forgive and move on,” wrote Hopewell
Chinono, a seasoned Mnangagwa spin-doctor and apologist.
“There is NO value to be gained
dwelling on someone’s weaknesses and their broken moral compass that resulted
in insults instead of respectable and dignified debates.
“The greatest and better challenge is
to provide a superior response and mature sense of understanding in pursuit of
uniting our people.”
He was repeating the same message
President Mnangagwa himself gave in his inauguration speech last November and
repeated yesterday - "let bygones be bygones, unity and lets move
forward!" All absolute nonsense of course!
It was Winston Churchill who once said
those who fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat the same mistake over
and over again. He was right!
If there is one thing we, as a
nation, have repeated over and over again is our failure to hold free, fair and
credible elections. And the consequence of this failure is the nation being
stuck with a corrupt and incompetent Zanu PF regime that has brought economic
ruin and brought untold political oppression including the cold blooded murder
of over 30 000 Zimbabweans.
Every time Zanu PF has rigged the
elections, the party has mounted an all out offensive to convince everyone to
bury the hatchet, unity and move forward. The reality is the nation never moved
forward because it never learned the lessons of the rigged elections and so
repeated the same mistakes over and over again.

uniting our people.” Chinono argue. What a foolish notions!
He wants the people to be united over
the lie that these elections were free, fair and credible and Zimbabwe is now a
healthy and functioning democracy?
Even if President Mnangagwa and his
apologists brainwashed every Zimbabwean out there into believing last month's
elections were free, fair and credible and Zimbabwe is a healthy and functional
democracy; air brush all the historic facts of blatant vote rigging, failure to
produce voters' roll, etc. What will that accomplish?
Nothing because the whole world already
knows that the elections were rigged.
To prove Zimbabwe had turned a new
leaf, a "new democratic dispensation", after the decades of Mugabe's
corrupt and tyrannical rule, President Mnangagwa promised to hold free, fair
and credible elections. This should have been an easy promise for him to keep
after all he is the one who had been rigging elections for Mugabe.
Some dirty habits are hard to stop and
others are impossible to stop. Asking Mnangagwa to stop rigging elections was
an impossible ask, it came to him as instinctively as the stench to the
skunk!
The world was particularly cheesed off
with President Mnangagwa and his junta. Many people had given the regime the
benefit of the doubt with all “new dispensation” and “Zimbabwe is open for
business!” talk. These people now rightly feel that they were cheated after the
regime's volte face to blatantly rig the elections!
As much as the whole nation would wish
to move forward and build a better Zimbabwe the truth is the nation is stuck.
By blatantly rigging the elections President Mnangagwa has just confirmed
Zimbabwe is a pariah state. Only a fool would want to invest their money in a
country whose next regime change is yet another military coup or violent street
protests. Investors are not fools!
"There are many people who will
find it hard to get off their toxic electoral ships, the best course to take is
to simply avoid them and not give their toxicity any relevance by responding to
unproductive discourse," continued Chinono.
The Zanu PF apologists in Herald House
and at ZBC do not need an prompting from you Chinono to shut out all dissent
voices. They have done this for the last 38 years and, with no meaningful
democratic reforms, are set to continue.
"Unity of purpose is a must and
without a sense of purpose, we will remain doomed and a pariah State," he
concluded.
It is very intriguing that those who constantly offend God should be the ones quoting the Bible at every turn!

Excuse me, Mr President, Zimbabwe is in a real economic mess today because of 38 years of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF rule. I for one do not buy all this nonsense that Mugabe the "criminal elements around him" targeted in last November's military coup were responsible for all Zimbabwe's problems. You, as a very senior member of Mugabe's successive regime for 37 years, must accept you share of the mismanagement, corruption, politically motivated violence and vote rigging.
Even if one was foolish enough to allow you a clean start since the November coup can you deny that you and your fellow Zanu PF thugs did not rig these elections? You toiled alright in bribing the Chiefs to make sure they were happy to do Zanu PF's dirty bidding of frog marching the rural people to vote for Zanu PF. Making sure ZEC did not produce a clean and verified voters' roll must have been hard work. Just do not insult our intelligence with your blasphemous insinuation that it was the will of God, you were doing!
President Mnangagwa, please read Matthew Chapter 24 verse 5 to 12, there are more relevant to you.
"For many will come in My name, claiming, 'I am the Christ,' and will deceive many. … and many false prophets will arise and mislead many. Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold."
Zimbabwe have been cursed by a plague of false prophets, pastors and corrupt and incompetent politicians who are misquoting the Bible to hide their greed and failures.
The economic recovery during the GNU was very limited because Zimbabwe was still a pariah state and that is true this time around. There will be very limited economic recovery is at all! Investors do not do business with thugs!
ReplyDeleteThe Vigil is, of course, sorry at the failure of the MDC's court challenge to the presidential election. We are convinced it had a good case but believe the result was sadly predictable. The Vigil has already expressed our disquiet that the MDC went into the elections without getting the reforms it had been insisting on.
ReplyDeleteSome respected voices suggest that a corner has been turned since Mugabe was overthrown and that the new regime is somehow more democratically inclined. The Vigil is sceptical. It's still a Zanu PF government, whether or not the military is in charge.
It is intolerable that MDC leaders dragged the nation into these elections yet again with no reforms implemented and ignoring the warning of so many people including Zimvigil not to do so.
"To boldly go where we have gone before: that is the trajectory we appear to be on for the next five years of Zanu PF rule. Bon voyage!" you say.
I salute you all at Zimvigil for you dedication but this could and should have been all avoided if MDC leaders had implemented the democratic reforms and not sold-out again and again. We should never forget that there are millions of innocent Zimbabweans caught up in this political madness who have paid dearly for the economic and political mess and many have paid the ultimate price - with their very lives!
The likes of Tendai Biti and David Coltart are gloriously happy their got a seat on the gravy train but they must never forget that many millions whose lives is hell and the hundreds of thousands who will die unnecessarily in the next five years - for that is the price the nation is paying for their comfort and greed!

ReplyDeleteThis is clearly shows this is a regime determined to use brute force to silence all dissent. There can be little doubt that Zanu PF used a sledge hammer to stop the violent street protests on 1st August to send a message against those who considered further election protests!
I agree with you there, we have never been allowed the time and space to deal with the past mistakes properly the guilty ones have either down played their wrong to a point where murder was no worse than killing a mouse. Everyone may notice it but it is really no great lose, indeed, it may even be considered a good thing if the rodent was destroying the crops or worse. At the heart of this failure is the fact the people had no meaningful power to hold the wrong doers to account, to tell them murder is a serious crime and they make sure they never ever get away with it.
ReplyDeleteThe issue of Zimbabwe failing to hold free, fair and credible elections is the root cause why the country remains a pariah state and thus stuck in this economic and political hell-on-earth which is what Zimbabwe is today. Mnangagwa and his spin-doctors and apologists are behaving like the bullies and tyrants they are; they do not want to be held to account for another rigged elections and so want the nation to be rush on without even acknowledging what happen.
The greatest challenge for the nation is that the people must stand their ground and refuse to discuss anything until the rigged elections is dealt with. Take everything, forgiveness, unity, etc. off the national agenda and leave rigged elections, focus on nothing else!
