"I apologise for propping up white regime," says Coltart - but refuse to admit to propping Zanu PF P Guramatunhu

“I sincerely apologise for the role that I played in propping up a racist regime as a young man in the police. If I knew then what I know now, I would have resisted conscription and actively sought to fight, using non-violent means, the injustices of the Rhodesian regime. Even though I was a teenager at the time, I take responsibility for my actions and inactions.  I also acknowledge that, as a White person, I have benefitted from Rhodesia's discriminatory policies and laws. While I can't apologize on behalf of a government that I was not a part of, I do apologise on behalf of the broader White community which was largely complicit in the oppression of Black, Coloured and Asian brothers and sisters,” you say.

You put so much emphasis on your being “a young man” as if your selfish streak ended when you became an adult! It did not!

You were a senior member of the MDC in the 2008 to 2013 GNU who sold-out. There is no logical explanation why MDC failed to implement even one democratic reform in five years of the GNU. The party had the chance to redeem itself when the choice was not to contest in flawed elections. You admit in your book that you lot participated out of greed.

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the elections,” you admitted.

“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility.”

You have pointedly refused to admit that you and your fellow MDC friends sold-out much less apologised and has instead continued to take full advantage of the ordinary people who have failed to figure out for themselves what is going on here.

Right now you are preparing to contest this year’s elections although you know only too well that boycotting the elections will be the “obvious” and most prudent course of action. MDC factions have formed the MDC Alliance, so what is your excuse for contesting flawed elections this time?

By failing to implement even one democratic reform in your twenty years in the opposition camp but especially during the GNU you and your MDC friends have helped “prop up the Zanu PF dictatorship”. SADC leaders would have declared the July 2013 elections null and void if MDC leaders had boycotted the elections, as you admit yourself. The country could be saved the torment of another rigged election if MDC leaders honoured their own “No reform, no election!” resolution.

As a white, you and your fellow whites had it all; a privileged upbringing, first class education, wealth accumulated from slave black labour, etc. Compared to your black MDC friends, like Morgan Tsvangirai, Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti whose education qualification is not much more than can read and write and whose lifetime of poverty made them susceptible to bribery and corruption. What was your excuse for succumbing to Mugabe’s gravy train lifestyle honey pot trap?

After nearly 100 years of black oppression and exploitation so you, as a white person, get first class everything whilst some of us had to make do with third class everything for no other reason than because we are black. The least you could do is use your first-class education to help us get out on the hell-hole Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs landed us into instead you are using it to get back on the gravy train for selfish greed. Is that the thanks we get from you for white colonial oppression?

Senator Coltart your apology for your pre-independence wrongs has no value whatsoever when you will not admit to the post-independence wounds you have inflicted and continue to inflict. You are just like a bully who apologises for stepping on your toes yesterday and yet is crashing your toes as he speaks!

  1. South African model Gabriella Engels, who was walloped with an electric cord by Grace and was left nursing a deep cut on the head and other injuries, has rekindled her fight for justice and is planning to have Mugabe’s wife dragged to South Africa to face the music.

Grace Mugabe's arrogance and indifference to other people's suffering and death is well known ; it is right and proper that many of those she has abused whilst in power should seek redress now that she has fallen off her high perch!
When you are sitting comfortably at the top most branch it pays to be considerate to those below you. Those below you will not take kindly to your letting rip as if you are a baby who has no control. There is nothing more amusing to the world than to watch you climb down and slip on your own s***t!

“We shall lose this cause if we think that it’s Mnangagwa and Chiwenga who was the only architects of the Gugurahundi atrocities according to Jonathan Moyo. All of them were the criminal cabals from both tribal sides: Shona and Ndebele. We should never lose our sight on that. In Mathebeleland we have the likes of Enos Nkala who was part of the grand plan to decimate the people of Mathebeleland. Enos Nkala even wished he could come across a river where he could wash away all his Ndebele-ness in him, and be Shona. We know all that,” you said.
Thank you, madam for those words of wisdom.
The late Dr Joshua Nkomo was interviewed by BBC, not ZBC, and he went to great lengths to underline that Gukurahundi was not a tribal but a party political matter. There are a lot of failed politicians who are now trying to re-launch their failed political careers on the back of Gukurahundi by turning it into a tribal matter.
Even after signing the unity accords with PF Zapu, Mugabe, now in the name of the united PF Zapu and Zanu PF, has push his one-party state political agenda. As many as 10 000 opposition members and their supporters have been murdered by Mugabe post Gukurahundi.
In a country were unemployment has soared to 90% and 72.3% of the people now live on US$1.00 or less a day it is nonsense to even suggest anyone has benefited from the nearly four decades of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship.
It is nonsensical for the likes of Jonathan Moyo to now claim in his endless tweets that he tried to raise Gukurahundi during his years in government and it was Mnangagwa and the other Lacoste members who did not want the matter dealt with. We all know that until 15 November 2017 Mugabe ruled the roost in Zanu PF, if the tyrant wanted the matter dealt with and had nothing to hide himself – he would have had the matter dealt with.
It is an outrage that some of the MDC politicians too are milking the Gukurahundi issue for all they can. They never raised the issue during their GNU days but want to do so now.
It would be a great tragedy if Zimbabwe finally get rid of this Zanu PF dictatorship but only to be dragged into a totally pointless tribal or regional conflict thus denying the nation the peace and economic development the nation has been yarning for the last 40 years! All people like Jonathan Moyo want is a chance to get back on the gravy train and they do not care whether they do so on the back of hundreds or thousands dead!

  3. @ Nonsense
Jonathan Moyo is not asking for accountability, why did he not do so when he had Mugabe's ear? What Moyo is fighting for is to get back on the gravy train and right now he knows that he will boast his own political standing by playing the tribal card.
There was no peace in Zimbabwe post 1980 because of Mugabe and his insatiable hunger for power. We can have peace post Zanu PF rule is we want and listening to the likes of Jonathan Moyo will make peace another pipe dream.

  4. “We have so many rich people in and around Masvingo Province but nobody is willing to support our programmes. We know that some businesspeople are working with imperialists to sabotage government operations,” said Rugeje.
“You have to cooperate with us if you want to be safe because we will not tolerate those who want to besmirch our leader, Emmerson Mnangagwa. “
No doubt the EU Ambassador has already responded, asking for Zanu PF leaders to restrain Rugeje!
If we are serious about the country holding free, fair and credible elections then we have no choice but to demand the implementation of all the democratic reform and stop wasting time. President Mnangagwa is the one who appointed Rugeje Zanu PF Political Commissar and it is naïve to think the latter is not doing exactly what Mnangagwa wanted and expected him to do!

  5. Senator Coltart, between me, you and the stupid fly on the wall, you can cross your heart and admit this is just an election gimmick to regain the confidence of the electorate. You are gunning for a seat back on the gravy train, you are so desperate you will do anything to sell yourself.

If you were apologising for all your past sins of greed, omission and commission then why are you limiting your sins to this one period whenever to 1980. I am particularly interested in the period when you and others formed the MDC, 1999, to the present day. I have read you book and you have glossed over what happened.

I do not need to remind you that MDC stands for Movement for Democratic Change. The people of Zimbabwe risked life and limb to get you into power. What democratic changes have you lot brought in your nearly 20 years in politics, especially during the GNU when you had the chance to implement the reforms?

You know the majority of Zimbabwean have no clue you guys sold-out during the GNU. Even when SADC leaders throw you guys a chance to redeem yourselves by boycotting the July 2013 election to force the reforms; you guys went on to contest the flawed elections out of greed. You are making this phony apology today because you want to reboot your sagging political image in the hope you will be re-elected even when you, me and the fly KNOW that will not be in the common good.

I can readily forgive people like Tsvangirai and the rest of the deadwood in MDC for selling-out during the GNU, they are nincompoop with no more wit than a garden toad. The nation expected a lot more from people like you, Coltart, Tendai Biti and one or two others because you do have some grey stuff between your ears. It was the same greed that stopped you seeing the injustice of white colonial oppression that stopped you seeing the betrayal of the innocent when you took Mugabe's bribes and forgot about the reforms.

Why should the nation accept your apology for propping up the white regime when you are only using it as a smoke screen to get back into power so you can prop up the Zanu PF regime! You must think all black are stupid just as you did all the years of white colonial oppression - you have not changed on that score!

  6. Exactly! One can forgive Morgan Tsvangirai and all the other deadwood in MDC for selling-out during the GNU; they are just nincompoops who we should have never elected into office in the first. It is another matter with Coltart, Tendai Biti and one or two others, they have some grey stuff between their ears for Pete's sake. Coltart failed to implement any reforms for the same reason he propped up the white colonial regime - greed.

Coltart has admitted that contesting in flawed elections is down-right stupid and he only contested in 2013 out of greed. Now he is planning to contest again out of greed. This half-bake apology is just his dirty tactic to take advantage of the idiotic electorate who failed to see him for what he is - a sell-out.

  7. The trouble is we have allowed Zanu PF to drag the nation into this mess for far too long and in the mess so deep the people have become so naive and gullible they will believe any nonsense they hear. In the days, weeks, months and even years following the demise to Zanu PF the threat of the county breaking up will be very hight thanks to the polluting influence of opportunists like Moyo and Zhuwao. We really noted to be on our guard!
