In Zimbabwe the ordinary people have been denied a meaningful say in the governance of the country for 46 years and counting. Zanu PF has blatantly rigged elections denying the people a meaning vote.
It must be said that the nation did have many opportunities to end the Zanu PF dictatorship with the best chance coming during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. MDC/CCC leaders have sold out on implementing reforms. Ever since the GNU they have conned the people to participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the dictatorship and the nation’s suffering.
There are nations like Switzerland, Japan, Singapore, etc. with few natural resources and yet the are peaceful and prosperous. How much more prosperous would they be if they had a great abundance of natural resources. Having a great abundance of resources have become a curse and not a blessing in some countries as the wealth from the resources has fuelled the endless wars over ownership.
“Who bewitched Africa?” asked Professor Lumumba.
If you were in Zimbabwe the buffoons who are ruling the country with an iron fist will consider you a rumble rouser and you would be punished. “Tinokuveza!” they will boast!
Still it is good that you ask the question. Countries like Zimbabwe are FAILED states and it is right that the people should ask WHY ARE WE A FAILED STATE?
The people continue to ask these question until they get satisfactory answers.
If ignorance is a result of being bewitched then we were bewitch.
Ignorance is the result of the failure to ask why. Knowledge is opposite of ignorance and knowledge start from asking questions. And those who ask the pertinent questions will never repeat the same mistakes over and over again. They learn from their own mistakes and history - that is the essence of knowledge.
We in Africa are stuck in a rut, we are renowned for our criminal waste of human and material resources. Whilst we have suffering the tragic consequences of the criminal waste of resources we have been helpless to stop it because the buffoons ruling the roost will not allow us to end the madness. And we, for our part, have allowed the buffoons to silence us!
Zimbabwe is a failed state and we dare not ask why for fear. "Mhesvamikono ndinodziveza!"threatened Mnangagwa. We have allowed him to silence us. We, the people have too done a great job of silencing ourselves. It is the people who have stifled the voices asking why MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one reform in 26 years.
By failing to ask the pertinent question, silence by buffoon or stifled by one of our own, we have denying ourselves the opportunity to learn from the past. Those who will not learn from the past are doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again.
"Who bewitch Africa?"
We are suffering from mental slavery and, unlike physical slavery where someone else has the key to the chains, we have the key. We only need to ask pertinent questions and to think for ourselves again and we can end the madness of the criminal waste of human and material resources, the root cause we are a failed state.

SA's agricultural sector is suffering the ill effects of forcing black Africans out of that country following 30 June 2026 deadline for black foreigners to leave.
ReplyDeleteIn 2000 Zimbabwe agricultural production collapsed and with it the economy when Zanu PF seized the white owned farms and gave them to the ruling elite and their cronies. The collapsed economy forced millions of Zimbabweans to leave the country going to SA and beyond. And now they have been forced out of SA and it is SA’s turn to see its agriculture and economy suffer.
Still, SA can sort out its labour problems and hopeful revive the economy. It has been decades now and Zimbabwe’s economy is still in a mess. The millions of returnees from SA will join the 49% living in abject poverty. No doubt they will return to SA if the opportunity was to arise!
You missed out two defining moments in his career. 1) Mnangagwa and Chiwenga spearheaded the 2008 Operation Mavhotera Papi 2) the two played a major role in the 2017 military coup.
ReplyDeleteChiwenga has always believed that Zanu PF has the divine right to rule and has rigging elections and even killed to promote that belief. Chiwenga, like Mnangagwa and many other Zanu PF thugs, paid lip service to freedom, justice and human dignity for all Zimbabweans. All he cared about is absolute power - period!

ReplyDelete“For the three decades I've been in this fight, I've never accepted a cent from Zanu PF. When Zanu bribes you, they will advertise you.” ied Chamisa.
Of course he was lying! Zanu PF thugs are buffoons, still they are smart enough to know the party has managed to rig elections and get away with it these last 26 years thanks to MDC/CCC leaders selling out on implementing reforms and conning millions to participate in flawed elections to give the regime legitimacy.
Advertising the names of MDC/CCC sell outs and the bribes they received would have resulted in the MDC/CCC leader losing political credibility. A new crop of opposition leaders would have been less amenable to Zanu PF bribes and would have implemented the reforms and/or refused to con povo to participate in flawed elections. Zanu PF thugs would have shot themselves in the foot.
Zanu PF thugs have occasionally leak details of corrupt MDC/CCC leaders for the purpose of reining in the pig-heads leaders claiming that they are squeaky clean.
Chamisa must address the allegation that he and other MDC/CCC leaders have received bribes of farms, two farms in his case, from Zanu PF. This is very specific! A sworn statement will put the matter to bed once and for all!

The 31 July Protest against CAB3 are necessary because this is an obnoxious piece of legislation which must be scrapped a.s.a.p.
The tragedy for Zimbabwe is that all this political mess could have been avoided if MDC/CCC leaders had implemented the democratic changes and/or stopped participating in flawed elections, "so flawed, so illegal, the only logical step was to withdraw". Zanu PF bribed them to forget implementing the reforms and to participate in flawed elections to give the regime legitimacy.
The immediate question we must now ask is: Are Tendai Biti & co. still selling out? They participating in the fight to scrap CAB3 is nothing more than the hyena rolling in elephant dung to musk its own scent!
Coltart and his fellow MDC/CCC leaders are hypocrites. They have known all along that Zanu PF rigs elections and that participating would give the regime legitimacy. They have soldiered on and participated out of greed. Coltart admitted this himself, for Pete’s sake!
ReplyDelete“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious - withdraw from the (2013) elections. The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.
Coltart & co. have pocketed their share of the spoils of power from Zanu PF and drunk a toast to rigged elections and conning the mass.
Once out in the open, they have condemned Zanu PF for rigging elections and cried buckets of crocodile tears over the suffering masses to maintain their champion of povo image.
The real tragedy here is that the people have failed to see MDC/CCC leaders for the sell outs they are. MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform in 26 years and yet this was their number one set task.
Just because a hyena, that has been rolling in elephant dung, smells like an elephant does not mean it is harmless.

ReplyDelete"This "chamisa lied guy" is a nuisance."
Saying Chamisa lied is nothing compared to the consequences that he lied and conned millions to participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. Why the consequences have not registered speaks volumes of your IQ!

ReplyDeleteThe people in Masvingo Province, especially Bikita, know .Gen Rugeje as the man who spear headedOperation Mavhotera Papi in 2008. Some of his victims were asked if they wanted “long sleeves or short sleeve”and had the hand(s) cut off to match! They were the lucky ones others were shot dead!
Why nincompoops like you want the barbarism swept under the carpet beggars belief It is foolish because sweeping evil under the carpet has given the perpetrators impunity, a licence to commit new crimes.
The regime is gearing to silence those demanding the scrapping of SAB3. Will Rugeje be deployed again?

ReplyDelete"Let me ask you 1 question, as you know Zimbabwe has a dictatorship terrorists regime and you know how they operate, how do you see opposition leaders implement reforms in a captured institutions?"
It is a very stupid question to ask. The nation has risked all to elect the opposition these last 26 years. Why, if they knew there was nothing the opposition can do?
Tsvangirai & co. promised the nation democratic changes, they even named the party Movement for Democratic Change (MDC). And you have never known what these changes are all these years! What a nincompoop!
