Mnangagwa's vision 2030 is a mirage. He can dismiss those saying so that does not change the reality. W Mukori

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has dismissed political discourse on social media as detached from electoral realities, telling Zanu PF's top leadership that while critics remain active online, the ruling party is focused on winning support at grassroots level.

Addressing the party's Central Committee at Zanu PF headquarters in Harare on Thursday, Mnangagwa contrasted what he described as the "wilderness of social media" with the party's mobilisation efforts in communities across the country.

"Detractors spend their time in the wilderness of social media, with its illusionary false community," Mnangagwa said.

"Zanu PF, on the other hand, is on the ground, in villages and wards, winning the hearts and minds of the people."

The President's remarks come amid growing political debate on social media platforms, where speculation, commentary and rumours about developments within the ruling party have become increasingly common.

Mnangagwa, however, said political success is determined by electoral performance rather than online discussions.

He cited Zanu PF's recent victory in the Tsholotsho by-elections, where the party retained Wards 1, 10 and 21.

Zimbabwe’s economy is in a mess and millions are living in abject poverty. Mnangagwa pushed his ED2030 Agenda which morphed into CAB3 on the promise he would revive the Zimbabwe economy tripling the GDP from US$2k per capita to US$6k - the so called vision 2030.

Mnangagwa has bullied and bamboozles the nation to get what he wants; CAB3 has been passed and now the nation awaits vision 2030. Alas! There is no sign of any meaningful economic recovery. None!

As more and more Zimbabweans realise that vision 2030 is a mirage the political unrest will only get worse. Mnangagwa can dismiss the dissenting voices as “detractors spending their time in the wilderness of social media, with its illusionary false community”. But as long as the human suffering continues the demands for meaningful change will only grow louder.

All Mnangagwa cares about is to secure absolute power and hold on to it at all costs. He does not care about the millions living in abject poverty, the consequences of the decades of Zanu PF misrule. History tell us that tyrannical regime will ultimately collapse under increasing mass pressure for change. This Zanu PF dictatorship will collapse, that much is clear.

Zimbabwe's social media has been awash with stories of hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans who are running away from the xenophobia threat in SA. The stories tell heart breaking stories of the hardship the returnees are facing. Mnangagwa has dismissed the stories as fake.

"Detractors spend their time in the wilderness of social media, with its illusionary false community," Mnangagwa told the Zanu PF Central Committee meeting.

"Zanu PF, on the other hand, is on the ground, in villages and wards, winning the hearts and minds of the people."

Vision 2030 is a mirage and dismissing the stories of those on the coal face of Zimbabwe's failed economic meltdown as an "illusionary community" will not change the reality on the ground.Millions of Zimbabweans are living in abject poverty and the returnees from SA are making a bad situation even worse!

Let me state this from the on-set - Zimbabwe is a failed state because the nation has had the great misfortune of having corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous Zanu PF thugs as our first generation founding fathers. And equally corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless MDC/CCC sell-outs as second generation founding fathers.

Our situation was compounded by having a powerful neighbour from Hell across the Limpopo River. ANC Secretary General Fikile Mbalula, in particular, has sided with the Zanu PF thugs dragging the nation deeper and deeper into the abyss. Mbalula is full of sh***t!

  3. Zanu PF supporter admitting he killed 6 people in Murehwa and was paid US$500 per head!

Sanctions were imposed on Zanu PF because the party rigged elections and even killed innocent people to stay in power. And so the stories by people like Rutendo Matinyarare denying sanctions were imposed to stop the regime rigging elections were lies and propaganda.

Matinyarare lied and Zanu PF paid him for it. Zanu PF has never had any problems recruiting intellectual to do its dirty bidding. MDC/CCC leaders failed to implement even one reform in 26 years including the 5 GNU years. They sold out!

It is no exaggeration we have many Zimbabweans who will sell their own mothers for a price and be proud they had a mother to sell. .

"Wat is your point?and wat do you suggest?"

Did MDC/CCC leaders fail to implement even one token reform in 26 years? If they did (and they did) fail to implement even one token reform then only a fool would ask "What is the point?" The failure to implement the reforms has consequences which everyone (except the fools) will know!

Mnangagwa rigged the 2023 elections and soon thereafter launched his ED2030 Agenda which morphed into the CAB3. It was clear as day that Mnangagwa would get his wish. The tyrant had just rigged the election, a more complex affair compared to rigging constitution amendment process.

Yet Tendai Biti, Professor Madhuku and many of the usual opposition suspects insisted Zanu PF never win the two referendums required to pass the CAB3. Zanu PF worded the Bill so that it did not even require one referendum. Not one! And the bill was passed by parliament with a thumbing majority.

Guess what! The usual suspects have upped the ante on CAB3. They have formed a Grand Coalition, Sungano Yavanhu; for yet another wild goose chase! MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one token reform in 26 years and history is just repeating itself.

"Mr Mukori we have heard all that. How do we stop CAB3 now. We are gathered here to stop CAB3."

How are you stopping CAB3? You have been participating in flawed to end the dictator and all you have done is perpetuate the dictatorship! You keep repeating the same foolishness and claim its the way forward!

    1. I have just told you, stop participating in flawed processes, “so flawed, so illegal, the only logical step is to withdraw.” You keep participating because you believe leaders like Chamisa’s idiotic lies of winning rigged elections. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again expecting a different result.

In Zimbabwe the morons have participated in flawed elections for 46 years and counting and they even have the cheek to pretend they did not know Chamisa is a liar and conman!

"What is the way forward?" Fcuk me! Poor Zimbabwe, with such morons, there are millions of them, no wonder the country is a failed state!

  7. There are those who will participate in the CAB3 process regardless how flawed and illegal the process get just as they have participated in flawed and illegal election processes. They know that Zanu PF has rewarded opposition leaders who have participated in the flawed processes and they are after the rewards. Of course, they will never admit participating out of greed. Never!

David Coltart has admitted to greed and, no doubt, has regretted doing so because he has never ever admitted ever writing it!

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious - withdraw from the (2013) elections. The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 2023 elections only a fool will pretend the regime was not going to rig the CAB3 process.

The opposition participated in the flawed and illegal 2023 election to give Zanu PF legitimacy process out of greed. They are participating in the flawed and illegal CAB3 process to give Zanu PF legitimacy for the same reason -greed!

  8. The tragedy for Zimbabwe is that the same political sellouts for have failed to implement even one token reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship are he ones who have conned the nation to participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and for the same reason they failed to implement the reforms - GREED! They are the ones who are conning the nation to participate in flawed election/constitutional amendment processes for the same reason GREED!

Over the years the nation has gather along international players so have sheered and applauded the nation’s failed political system either out of stupidity and/or greed. These outsiders know our Zanu PF and MDC/CCCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent but have very rarely ever said so.

The outsiders are cheering opposition leaders fighting CAB3 knowing fully well this is a wild goose chase! Infuriating!

"What do you think is the way forward in the circumstances. Let’s have a solution focussed mentality and not just bashing those who are trying to stop this CAB3 nonsense."

I agree CAB3 is nonsense but thing that we can stop CAB3 is just as nonsensical as participating in flawed 2023 elections especially after people were warned it is folly!

You would think the simple concept that ALL leaders must be accountable to the people is now universally accepted. Alas! Not so in Zimbabwe. The personality cult mentality is deep rooted!

My opinion is that we should use social media and other platforms to educate people before we confront politicians because criticizing politicians is a waste of time because they are getting support from people who have no knowledge of people who are suffering. In Zimbabwe, nothing changes through politics if the poor support politicians who claim to be corrupt.I have already seen that politicians are not wrong.

The problem is that we support them because of poverty. Mr Mukori First, let's teach people what politics is because we are entering politics without knowing what politics is."

I agree on the need to teach the people especially the brain dead who believe leaders are demigods. Still he must hold the corrupt and tyrannical leaders to account for selling out and taking advantage of the brain-dead.

Remember there are millions of povo out there who are being held to ransom by Zanu PF thugs, for example. These Zanu PF thugs are not allowing the rural povo freedom of association, no free media, etc. How are you going to educate these people?

Chamisa said he plugged all the vote rigging loop holes and even evoked the name of God. How many times has this happened? And we must remember that MDC/CCC have had many chances to implement reforms and have failed to implement even one reform.

"So why are yu blaming akabirwa uchitadza kuti pasi nembavha shora akaba simple." Given the mountain of evidence of MDC/CCC selling out and lying; only an idiot can say that! Fcuk me!

    1. Chamisa lied to millions of people and conned them to participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and to perpetuate the nation’s suffering. Of course, he must and will be held to account for this. Only village idiots do not want him to be held to account!

"Who is your favourite and think we can put?"

This is just another excuse given by those who want to justify recycling the same deadwood leaders. In 2017 the idiots picked Mnangagwa because he was "better than Mugabe". Today they think Chiwenga is better than Mnangagwa.

Of course, they are idiots because there is a mountain of evidence to show Chiwenga is just another Zanu PF thug just like Mnangagwa. What the idiots are failing to see is the reality of something called a false choice.

A mouse will know choosing a black mamba or a cobra is a FALSE choice because either snake will kill it! Man is supposed to be a creature of reason and per se should know that swapping one dictator for another is a FALSE choice.

Alas! In Zimbabwe we have millions of idiots who judgement is clouded because no matter how flawed, "so flawed, so illegal, the logical step is to withdraw"; they never withdraw because they will always have a "favourite"!

Poor Zimbabwe! No wonder we are a failed state! We have morons, millions of them; they have the vote and they are holding the nation to ransom!

Zimbabwe is a failed state; if I have said this a thousand times, I have said it a thousand time every week for decades!

There are many, many reasons why we are a failed state and if I have to name one reason - it is that we CANNOT THINK. Man is a creature of reason, an attribute we, in Zimbabwe, clearly lack.

There are solutions to all our problems; we do not need to reinvent the wheel, we only need to apply it. Alas! Seeing is one thing comprehending is another!
