"No one will starve!" Forget the indirect deaths, account for 40 000 plus Zanu PF politically motivated murders! W Mukori

"As I stated in my recent declaration of a nationwide state of disaster due to the drought last week, our Zanu-PF government will not let anyone starve," Mnangagwa said.

"Our government is capable of handling this situation.”

The bottomline is Zanu PF has made many, many promises which it failed to keep and there was damn well nothing anyone could do about it. The regime is not democratically accountable to the people and so it will do as it damn well please.

One of the advantages of being a dictatorship is that you can promise the moon on a silver platter and deliver hell and get away with it again and again.

Ever since Zimbabwe’s independence in 1980 Zanu PF has promised the people of Zimbabwe freedom, peace, justice, economic development and prosperity. Three years after independence in 1983 Zanu PF launched its Gukurahundi massacre aimed at forcing PF Zapu, the party’s main political challenger, to give up its independence and join Zanu PF. Dr Nkomo relented in 1987, after 20 000 civilians murdered, and signed the unity accord opening the door to the imposition of the de facto one party state we have to this day.

The regime has murdered another 20 000 plus since the Unity Accord to maintain its strangle hold on absolute power.

When Mnangagwa seized power in the 2017 military coup he promised to stamp out corruption and most important of all to hold free, fair and credible elections. He promised the latter to placate the world at large following his military coup but did not bother to implement even one reform. Only the very naive believed he would keep his promise of holding free elections. He ignore the promise to stamp out corruption because no one was going to hold him to account.

Mnangagwa blatantly rigged the 2023 elections, both SADC and AU election observers condemned the elections and, per se, this regime is illegitimate. It is naive to think the nation will hold Mnangagwa and company to democratic account if they failed to keep their promise. What has changed, one might as well ask!

"No one will starve!" Mnangagwa promised. He can promise anything because he knows no one will ever hold him to democratic account! HE BLATANTLY RIGGED THE 2023 ELECTIONS OR BE IT WITH THE HELP OF HIS CORRUPT AND INCOMPETENT CCC SIDE-KICK!

If we do not implement the reforms a.s.a.p. Zanu PF will rig 2028 elections to extend the dictatorship for another five more years. We need to elect competent opposition who will implement the reforms and end this madness!

  2. The reality in Zimbabwe is different, this were better yesterday than they are today. There was electricity, running water, schools and hospitals, etc. and these are all in varying stages of rot and decay. The boy is looking at the photo of his grand father. He has inherited the beg, somewhere to put the ZiG!

The Second Republic will argue, he is an upper middle income child living in a ZiG world! Vakafa vakazorora!

"Why are you always blaming others especially Nero. What have you done iwewe to change the world."

    Plenty!

    1) I have never taken advantage of the ignorance and the stupidity of others promising them I will deliver democratic changes only to sell out to Zanu PF for ministerial limo, generous salary and allowances, US$ 4 million mansion.

    2) I have never participated in a flawed elections knowing Zanu PF was rigging and that participating will give Zanu PF legitimacy but do it regardless out of greed.

    3) Thank God, I have never ever allowed myself to be led by the nose like a bull at the market unlike some people whose brain has all but ossified into fat who were conned into believing such bullshit as Chamisa plugging all vote rigging loop holes.

    4) I have done my best to warn Zimbabweans of the folly of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and CCC leaders the few gravy train seats.

    5) You can bet you bottom dollar I will be kicking arse of village idiots like you who have their heads stuck in leaders’ backsides and continue to follow corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless leaders like Chamisa. He is a mere mortal, not an infallible demigod, for Pete’s sake!

44 years of Zanu PF gross mismanagement, rampant corruption and tyrannical oppression have resulted in the nation look back in the past with envy! In 1980 the nation inherited from the white colonial regime a robust economy with good infrastructure. We have failed to maintain what we got much less build on it, our schools, hospitals water supply, etc. are is an advance state

"No one will starve in Zimbabwe!" said Mnangagwa. As if he care or would be accountable. Zanu PF never accounted for the 40 000 plus murdered to establish and retain the de facto one party dictatorship.

"What was 'robust' about an economy forced to be saddled by legacy Ian Smith debts?! They finance Smith and his white gangsters to wage a war against freedom fighters. He loses the war and his funders pass on the debt to the freedom fighters. They give them more loans, thanks to their embedded agent Chidzero, to finance the debt. And this, to you, is a 'robust' inherited economy!!"

You are in denial and so you are not thinking straight; it is pointless debating with some one who is denying historic facts!

  8. This is just nonsense! Chamisa resigned as party leader and his party has broken up in the ensuing implosion, everyone with half a brain in UN, SADC and AU can see that. Why would they bother holding fresh elections in which the only real contestant is vote rigging Zanu PF?

  9. Chamisa told Blessing Mhlanga Zanu PF would never destroy CCC.

Here is Chamisa saying Zanu PF will never destroy CCC and yet in recent tweet he was saying the exact opposite. “When all is said and done, all who are truthful and honest shall admit and acknowledge the repeated role of the State in the plot and engineered illegal MP recalls, political parties finance diversion and criminal takeover of the alternative in 2020 and 2023.” he said.

He even had the chutzpah to headline the tweet “Absolute truth!”

The truth is here is a corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless opposition leader who is so full of himself he thinks himself an infallible demigod!

This is a stupid question? How does where you, me or anyone else out there were during the GNU affect why MDC leaders failed to implement even one token reform during the GNU? Mugabe bribed Morgan Tsvangirai and company with the trappings of high office and, in return they forgot all about the reforms.

You are so desperate to find someone else top blame for MDC leaders' betrayal you want to blame me for it. Your stupidity knows no bounds!

Before both the 2018 and 2023 Chamisa conned the people into participating in the flawed elections because he was cocksure MDC A and CCC, respectively, would win. He had winning in rigged election strategies, he insisted. "God is in it!" he said repeatedly. Now he is saying the exact opposite.

The truth is Chamisa is only a mere mortal but one with a proven track record as corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless. Our dysfunctional political system has allowed people like him, Tsvangirai, Mugabe and Mnangagwa to occupy very senior national leadership position and, without exception, they have all become big-headed to think themselves infallible demigod with tragic national consequences!

  20. Where is the gold? Where is the gold? What a foolish and rhetorical question!

I will not be surprised that not even the 1.5 tonne gold that was in the RBZ vault two weeks ago will still be there. The Bank make a concerted effort to collect the gold for the photo opportunity for Mnangagwa. It was all looted soon thereafter!

You should watch the Al Jazeera Gold Mafia documentary; you will have the answer to your rhetorical question.

Zimbabwe is a Police State, ruled by ignorance, fear and, to back up the fear, brute force. Zanu PF has blatantly rigged elections using a cocktail of ignorance, fear, brute force and has bribed all those in positions of power to do the party’s dirty bidding. Even the opposition leaders have succumbed to the regime’s hypnotic influence.

MDC/CCC leaders were elected to implement reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. They have not only failed to implement even one token reform in 23 years, including 5 in the 2008 to 2013 GNU but worse still they have been participating in flawed elections to give vote rigging Zanu PF political legitimacy.

You were senior leader in the MDC during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and you lot failed to implement even one democratic reform to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. They treat us as monkeys while we treat them as gods. Africa isn't independent.
The question is who allows whites to continue siphoning our resources and if we resist, we have to be sanctioned 🤷🏽‍♂️ and we don't take action.”

The minute someone starts blaming sanctions for our economic and political problem you can be 100% certain you are talking to a village idiot!

The number one cause of Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown is not sanctions but corruption.

Zimbabwe have 1.5 tonnes of gold in the RBZ vault today because 80% of gold is smuggled out of the country. Most of the country’s roads are in a deplorable state because of the heavy lorries carrying lithium and other minerals out of the country. The wholesale looting has nothing to do with sanctions.

Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 2023 elections and hence the reason why the country is a pariah state, a failed state. And it was not the West who imposed the sanctions who help the regime rig the elections. It was the Chinese - they are the ones behind the wholesale looting of diamonds, lithium, gold, etc. They are the one determined to keep Zanu PF in power no matter what because they are the one profiting from the status quo!

Sanctions or sanctions, what right does Zanu PF have for denying the people of Zimbabwe their fundamental right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country? The right to a free vote is more than a right, it is the essence of good governance!

What right does Mnangagwa have in rigging elections and for his MDC/CCC side-kick in participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed? Sanctions are just a feeble excuse for rigging elections and bad governance!

  29. PDI(Power Distance Index)
-From time immemorial Zimbabweans have been accustomed to a certain level idol worship where it's leaders are immortalized and regarded as gods.
    During and after political independence we all have cozied ourselves to the casual use of two terms;
    - Povo and Shef
This led to the 1990s term MURUNGU
And we often use these three self-inflicted subservient terms as if they mean nothing. In the process we surrender our ability to stand up for what is right.
In other countries in the SADC like Zambia, and South Afrika their POWER DISTANCE INDEX is very different. People loved Nelson Mandela yet when he did something wrong they kept him in check, despite his national and international gravitas.

Totally agree with you! Our default position is to regard anyone in leadership position as a infallible demigod who must never be questions muchness held to account by mere mortals. The leaders themselves has cultivated this adoration actively promoting the hero worshiping culture by surrounding themselves with yes-man.

Indeed, in this patronage driven system where merit is viewed as a threat, one is compelled to tone down to survive! Those who dare question the chef are regarded as disloyal and a threat to the chef!

Zimbabwe is a Police State in which the number one priority of the securocrats is to hunt down those disloyal to the regime. When Didymus Mutasa was Minister of State Security he once boasted that the regime known everything about everyone. It was not an empty boast! The opposition have their own militia mob who are given to abusing all those who dares to question Chamisa.

The competition is not in doing the right thing but in flattering the chef!

The truth is this chef, personality cult, mentality is the very antithesis of what is demanded of a citizen in a healthy and functioning democracy. Democracy demands that the citizen must be educated, knowledgeable and diligent in questioning and holding those in public office to account.

    44th Independence Zimbabwe
We have nothing to celebrate for our 44th Independence Day as a country. Our Politics and economics are in shambles. The country is divided and our communities are broken. Our Education, health, housing, transport, energy and welfare systems are non-functional.
Our Freedoms, dignity and rights are continuously being violated. In a country where there is no rule of law and corruption is on the lead.
Our children have no jobs, pension eroded, we have a currency that we cannot use to buy fuel and pay customs duty and we call our self’s independent NO…
As long as the issues raised above are not corrected, we have no reason to celebrate.

The reality that Zimbabwe is, indeed, a failed state; far from ever attaining the upper middle income status by 2030. Vision 2030 is just the revised version of the "Gutsa ruzhinji!" mirage the nation has been chasing since independence! After 44 years of chasing a mirage, the penny is finally dropping that Zimbabwe is sinking deeper and deeper into the abyss. We need to change course or we will only sink deeper and deeper into the abyss.

The mass prosperity, "gutsa ruzhinji" as Mugabe called it in the 1980 has turned into mass poverty.
