"Strong minds discuss ideas, weak ones discuss people." Chamisa followers have condescended to worshiping him. W Mukori

Former MDC Alliance and the Citizens Coalition for Change Organizing Secretary Amos Chibaya has claimed that Zimbabweans do not follow political parties but people,” reported Bulawayo 24.

"Look at the 2023 elections, there is no MP or Councillor who had more votes than Chamisa that tells you what, people in Zimbabwe do not follow a party name but the one who was anointed by God, whether the party is called Mandebvu, Mberikunashe or Mberihakunashe, they follow their leader.

"The reason why Chamisa got more votes than yours, it's because people want Chamisa and they would simply vote for you because they would have been given three ballot papers and could ignore the MP and Councilor. The evidence is there, let's go for by-election without him and see," said Chibaya.

He went on to say Chamisa had managed to stop Zanu-PF from getting a majority in parliament but some renegades were reaping what they didn't sow and gave Zanu-PF two-thirds in parliament.

Of course, Chibaya is right people are blindly following wherever Chamisa lead them. This is typical where the followers have no clue what is going on and so give up their right to think for themselves and to hold the leaders to account. This is what has undermined the nation’s hopes of building a healthy and functioning democratic nation.

The ancient Greek were right democracy - government of the people, by the people and for the people - is impossible unless the said people are educated, knowledgeable and are diligent in the duty of holding those in power to account. The Chamisa followers have none of these qualities. None!

Chamisa and company have failed to implement even one token reforms and hence the reason why Zanu PF has continued to blatantly rigged elections. Mugabe bribed the MDC leaders during the GNU and the forgot about the reforms. The Chamisa followers has failed to realise the blatant betrayal even now with the benefit of hindsight.

Chamisa conned his wildebeest herd followers to participate in last year’s elections, promising CCC would win big because he had “plugged all the Zanu PF vote rigging loop hopes.” Of course, he was lying.

The herd was warned repeatedly that Chamisa and company were hell bent on participating in the flawed elections out of greed and that participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy. The herd did not heed the warning because their minds are impermeable to reason and incapable of thinking for themselves.

'Strong minds discuss ideas, average minds discuss events, weak minds discuss people,’ observed the great Greek Philosopher Socrates.

Amos Chibaya is right the average Zimbabwean is still stuck on hero worshiping mortal and not just an mortal but one who has already proven that he is corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless. The electorate should focus on ideas, policies and hold the leaders to account for failing to deliver of their promises.

No wonder Zimbabwe is a failed state and, with such a hopeless electorate and no change in the horizon, we are doomed to remain a failed state for generations!

Was that why MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, because it "is not the duty of MDC/CCC alone to implement reforms?" Or is it because they were bribed and they are incompetent?

You have failed to comprehend what the reforms are and it is naive to expect you to understand how they are implemented. The tragedy for Zimbabwe is that a village idiot like you has the vote - it is like giving a loaded gun to a monkey and it is not surprising the nation is paying dearly for it!

Even if Zimbabwe was to get an Albert Einstein genius of a political leader he/she will never get into power as long as we have an electorate that is so ignorant and naive they are easily conned into voting for the Zanu PF buffoons with chicken and chips. Or conned in participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy with such idiotic promises like “I have plugged all vote rigging loop holes.

Democracy demands an educated and knowledgeable electorate not this mob of village idiots who think Chamisa is an infallible demigod! And, worst of all they are out attacking anyone who trying ti educate them. You cannot reason with this lot, their brain has lot ossified into fat.

Zanu PF should have built Hwange Unit 7 and 8 and Batoka Gorge in the 1980s, they were given the feasibility reports in 1980. Mugabe squander US$ 3-4 billion on his Blue Roof mansion, now a white elephant.

The regime finally built Hwange Unit 7 and 8 last year, 40 years late, and makes a big song and dance about it. Typical!

  15. What kind of investors would want to do business in a pariah state ruled by corrupt and vote rigging thugs? Whoever they are they must be pretty desperate, they could not get what they want anywhere else. Whatever they do, they will always keep an eye for a quick get away. They know they cannot trust the regime and so will cut their loose at the drop of a hat.

“Zimbabwe is open for business!” was a lead balloon that never took off. The only investors who flooded into the country and the Gold Mafia operators and the like. Only fools would believe any honest investors have seen anything to force them to change their minds!

Mnangagwa is a corrupt, incompetent and murderous thug, the godfather of all the wholesale looting in the country. He is set in his way and will not change. All those who invest in Zimbabwe are shrewd enough to know he is a ruthless thug and will see to it they have the last laugh. Matsotsi haagerani!

    The facts still remains that:

    i) MDC/CCC failed to implement even one reform in 23 years including 5 in the GNU to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 2023 elections because not even one reform was implemented.

ii) Chamisa and company have been participating in flawed elections knowing that doing so will give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.

iii) He needed village idiots like you to participate to get his reward of the few gravy train seats and so he lied about CCC winning big because he has plugged all the vote rigging loop holes. God is in it! And village idiots like you not only believed him but have been defending him even now when it is clear he lied.

iv) You keep wittering about CCC had to participate to stop other parties doing so. In 1978 Muzorewa and Sithole, had no supporters compared to Zanu and Zapu who boycotted, participated in Smith’s Internal Settlement and failed to give the charàde political legitimacy. Mwonzora, Madhuku and the other nine leaders garnered 6% of the votes last year. Only a dimwit like you would still maintain the 6% would have given Zanu PF legitimacy especially when both SADC and AU dismissed the election as flawed and illegal.

    v) How anyone should consider Chamisa a infallible demigod, as you clearly do, in this day and age beggars belief. The idiot is corrupt and incompetent and, thanks to him selling out, we are still stuck with this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF regime.

vi) Zimbabwe is not going to get out of this mess as long as there are village idiots like you who will readily believe a corrupt and incompetent mortal like Chamisa is a demigod. Our curse is you have the vote and it it is like giving a loaded gun to monkey! The number one priority is to educate some of the village idiots whose brain has not completely ossified - you are beyond the pale!

Zimbabweans have risked livelihoods, limbs and even lives to elect MDC/CCC leaders into office on the understanding they would implement the reforms. After 23 years including 5 in the GNU Chamisa and company have failed to implement even one token reform.

You, me and everyone out there should be holding these leaders to account for selling out. I believe the 2 million or so who voted for Chamisa last year, maybe yourself included, did so because they believed he had plugged all the vote rigging loop holes. If you believe the vote rigging loop holes have been plugged then you will not need to implement the reforms too.

The truth is Chamisa was lying, he had not plugged any vote rigging loop holes. Zimbabwe was going into the election without even something as basic as a verified voters’ roll, for Pete’s sake. What matters is 2 million village idiots out there BELIEVED Chamisa’s blatant lies. Worse still this was not the first time these idiots believed such lies.

Of course, the answer must be NO!

If you hold public office you ARE, per se, democratically accountable to the people whether you did so as an independent candidate or belong to a political party.

The people of Zimbabwe have risked all to elect Chamisa et al into power on the understanding they would implement the democratic changes to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. After 23 years, including 5 in the GNU, they have failed to implement even one token reform. Of course, they must and will be held to account for such treasonous betrayal. The truth is Mugabe bribed Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC/CCC friends with the trappings of high office so that they, in return, forgot about implementing the reforms. A few of the MDC leaders who were in the GNU have admitted this.

The nation many opportunities especially during the 2008 to 2013 GNU to implement the reforms and end the dictatorship. Alas! MDC/CCC leaders sold out and failed to implement even one token reform.

Zimbabwe has become the textbook case of a failed state because we, the blacks, have failed to govern ourselves. We have buffoon who do not not even know what constitute free, fair and credible elections and do not care about the tragic suffering and deaths of the fellow Zimbabweans. All they care about is absolute power and the wealth to brought them. They would rather burn the whole country than see anyone else rule it - such is the heartless resolve to maintain their iron grip on power at ALL COSTS!

Mnangagwa blatantly rigged 2023 elections, once again denying the ordinary people a meaningful say in the governance of the country. “The biggest question is how do you stop it when it has levers of power?
    Question mark ngaa?”

MDC leaders had the power to implement the reforms during the GNU when they even had SADC on their side. Why did they fail to implement even one token reform then?

Ever since since the GNU debacle, MDC/CCC leaders have been participating in flawed elections known fully well the process is flawed and that participating would only give Zanu PF legitimacy. Still they have participated because they also knew Zanu PF was giving away a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate.

Nelson Chamisa even condescended to blatantly lying about plugging the vote rigging loop holes to con the ignorant, naive and gullible to participate and to justify why CCC was hell bent on participating and to hide the greed.

Last year CCC leaders still took up their gravy train seats even after SADC and AU had condemned the elections as flawed and illegal! It would have been foolish of SADC to deny Zanu PF legitimacy given that Zimbabweans themselves endorsed the elections in millions!

Chamisa and his opposition friends have given on reforms and stopping Zanu PF rigging elections. They have been running with the povo hare by day and hunting with the Zanu PF hounds by night. The question you should be asking is why is that Zimbabweans have failed to see that they are being conned even after 23 years of MDC/CCC without even one token reform to show for it?

And the question I am asking is What would it take wake Zimbabweans from their sloth-like mental slumber and stopping them from asking the obvious questions?

  30. “The National Electoral Reform Agenda (NERA) an amalgamation of several political parties formed around 2016 for the purpose of pushing the electoral reform agenda in Zimbabwe began like a house on fire with opposition stalwarts like Morgan Tsvangirai, Joyce Mujuru, Welshman Ncube, Dydimus Mutasa, Tendai Biti, Jacob Ngarivhume, Agrippa Mutambara, Matheus Guchutu just to mention but a few together with their political parties joining hands, thronging the streets calling for electoral reforms from the Robert Mugabe government.

As the 2018 general elections drew closer, Mugabe was ousted as the state President by his own people with the backing of NERA and the main opposition party, the MDCT.”

Zanu PF knew that all the parties in NERA would participate in the 2018 elections with not even one reform implemented just as the participated in the 2013 elections even with the SADC leaders asking them not to participate. Greed had the better of them as Coltart readily admitted.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

All those who are in NERA right now will participate in the 2028 elections with no reforms implemented because they have participated in the past!
