"Are there any quality leaders - not paying lip-service to free elections?" Take discerning and lip-reading voters to find them! W Mukori

“In our midst, can we not find today leaders who do not pay lip services to freedom, justice and liberty to gain the people's trust?” asked one whatsApp group member.

This is not a simple question and therefore there is no simple answer.

The problem rises from having an electorate that is so ignorant they are fooled again and again and again because they do not have a discerning mind to distinguish substance from foam. MDC/CCC leaders, for example, have not only failed to implement even one reform to stop Zanu PF rigging elections they are the ones conning the people into participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. The people have failed to realise what is going on because they can only deal with one good and one bad at a time.

The people have accepted Zanu PF as the bad guys and MDC/CCC as the good guys. They understand the simple reality of tossing a coin, it will land head or tail, good or bad.

These people cannot comprehend the political reality that MDC/CCC leaders have failed to perform the task of implementing the reforms and therefore we have bad opposition. They cannot judge CCC leaders except in the light of Zanu PF which is nonsensical in this context since we have never entrusted Zanu PF with the task of implementing the reform.

Of course, the MDC/CCC leaders can be corrupt and incompetent regardless of what Zanu PF is doing just as one can toss a second coin and its outcome is independent of the outcome of the first coin. Zanu PF and MDC/CCC have exploited this weakness in the populous so the latter has participated in flawed elections to give the former legitimacy for a share of the gravy train seats.

Chamisa and company’s lip-service to reforms have become so bold and daring they have been making some really foolish claims such as plugging all vote rigging loop holes to stop rigging knowing fully well the voters will never pick it up. And, guess what, the voters are none the wiser even after 23 years of being conned!

So to answer your question, of course we can get competent leaders but they are not likely to be elected into office as long as we have an electorate so ignorant, naive and gullible they are certain to be swept off their feet by cheap promises and remain untouched by substance. After all the corrupt and incompetent leaders do not have to worry about delivering on their promises and so can afford to be prom the moon on a silver platter. The spicy the promises the more they appeal to the empty heads.

The ancient Greeks were right, a healthy and functioning democracy demands an educated, knowledgeable and diligent electorate. The Zimbabwe electorate have been brainwashed by Zanu PF and MDC/CCC making them one of the most ignorant and stupid voters on earth.

With such a brain-dead electorate it is no surprise Zimbabwe is a fail state. And, unless and until, something is done to educate the electorate, the country is certain to remain a failed state.

“Even if he's dirty, he's not as tainted as your zanu. You should look at your Zanuists first before pointing at Chamisa. How old was Chamisa when Gukurahundi happened?”

MDC/CCC leaders were elected to implement the democratic reform to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. Last year Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 2023 elections - proof MDC/CCC have failed to stop the regime rigging elections.

What has MDC/CCC leaders’ selling out of reforms to do with how old Chamisa was during Gukurahundi?

Shame! You really are incapable of judging CCC leaders’ performance of the set task of implementing the reforms without reference to Zanu PF. Both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC leaders know this weakness in the voters and are exploiting it, both parties are gaining from this insane cosy arrangement and the real losers are the ordinary people who are stuck with the failed state!

It is a real shame that anyone can be so shallow, thick and slow they have failed to realise that MDC/CCC are now fighting in Zanu PF’s corner and not that of povo even after 23 years with not even a token reform implemented! No wonder we are a failed state.

The consequences of 44 years of rigged elections and bad governance would be even more boring if they were not so heartbreakingly tragic, at least for those with the intellect to comprehend or at the coal face!

I am determined to highlight the sheer insanity of our failure to hold free, fair and credible elections and I am not bothered whether you find that entertaining or not. I am here to tell the truth that many do not want to hear but must be said!

Mnangagwa did not only rig the 2023 elections and, per se, is illegitimate. He is a man on mission to consolidate his iron grip on power and, unless we do something to stop him, will be in power till 2028 and beyond. The fight to stop him and Zanu PF rigging 2028 must start here and now and it starts be accepting the sheer folly of participating in flawed elections to give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.

“Mnangagwa did not Rig it was Chamisa who failed to implement reforms that's the why he is a weak leader.

    Inga mKati udza wani.”

Yes, Chamisa and company should have implemented the democratic reforms, especially during the GNU when they had the golden opportunity to do so. They should never ever participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. They did and not just once but did so repeatedly.

Yes the ordinary Zimbabweans were foolish to be conned into participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy by believing the foolish MDC/CCC claims that they have “winning in rigged election strategies.” How any one would be so gullible to believe Chamisa had plugged all Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes when he could not even sure a verified voters’ roll, beggars belief!

Still, CCC leaders’ greed and incompetence, is no excuse for Zanu PF’s failure to hold free, fair and credible elections. You cannot blame Zanu PF’s wholesale looting of the nation’s resources to bankroll its vote rigging activities on some one else, Mnangagwa and company are responsible.

“Let the rotational leaders ( biti/ Kore and Ncube) do what this useless leader called Chamisa failed to do.”

It is not me who is saying MDC/CCC leaders failed to implement reforms and they have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. History says so; these are historic facts!

Biti, Ncube, Kore and many other MDC/CCC leaders have all played their part in the failure to implement the reforms and or participating in flawed elections out of greed. It is not only Chamisa who is corrupt and incompetent, they are all corrupt and incompetent!

“U have lots of energy to keep writing these things but if u have a real message u want to hammer find a way to sex it up. Mnangagwa does it it a raw way nezvimbuya zvine magaro makuru and crowd pleasers. Iwe you want to do that seriously like a heart surgeon about to operate someone. U will have no chance. Repeating same things again and again makes them boring. How many people actually believe fiction that elections were rigged? There is a lot of bribing yes and maybe uneven playing field but there is no critical mass to change system.”

Mnangagwa does a lot more than sex up his message, he rigs elections and even uses violence to get what he wants.

I am here to say what people should hear and not what they want to hear - the truth. Their continued participation in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy is folly personified and they are the ones paying dearly for it. If they continue to pay no heed and continue shooting themselves in the foot then they will continue to suffer.

It is interesting to note that you are bored to hear the repeated demand for reform as the only sure way to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. And yet you are indifferent to the reality of 43 years of Zanu PF rigging elections and the tragic consequences thereof. There is the saying of penny wise pound foolish but your stupidity takes the biscuit!

No wonder Zimbabwe is a failed state, we have some shockingly stupid people and, to crown it, they have the vote!

“Politics is about power and not so called love one another or pleasing your enemy. What Zanu PF is doing right now is brilliant on the verge of genius. Why should they please the west and it’s puppet opposition.”

How is denying ordinary Zimbabweans their basic freedoms and rights including the right to a meaningful vote and even the right to life punishing the West? Zimbabwe is a failed state, the country’s economy is in ruins and millions of our own people are living in abject poverty.

One of the tragic consequences of giving the vote to ignorant, naive and gullible people is that they are very easily conned into doing foolish things. Zanu PF has exploited this weakness by labelling all those who have dared to demand the freedoms and rights of all Zimbabweans as puppets of the West seeking regime change. The foolish voters have swallowed the hook, line and sinker and have been supporting the regime’s tyrannical oppression “to keep Zimbabwe safe from the West!”

MDC/CCC leaders too have conned the gullible electorate into participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy by lying that they would win big because they have plugged Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes. The lies were to hide the real reason why Chamisa and company were hell bent on participating was greed.

Yes MDC/CCC leaders are puppets but not puppets of the West; they are Zanu PF’s puppets! Chamisa was right to say the CCC is heavily infiltrated by Zanu PF; it is. CCC is Zanu PF team B in all but name and they have been participating in these flawed elections to make sure Zanu PF team A wins and get away with the rigging!

“Your arguments are idealistic and academic radicalism. They're not gonna see you make any effective changes. You will just inevitably retire in political bitterness and disgruntlement.”

Whatever else you may say about what I have said, you cannot deny these are true and historic facts. Let those with eyes to see, see; and those with ears to hear, hear. I know that not all who see perceive and not all who hear understand.

Zimbabwe is a failed state because as nation we have more than our fair share of people whose brains have ossified into fat; they are incapable of comprehending reason, truth and reality. And, to crown it all, they have the vote. We have given the loaded gun to a monkey and we have paid dearly for our folly.

Both Zanu PF and the opposition know the voters are ignorant, naive and gullible that have not only taken full advantage of the weakness but, worst of all, they are fighting tooth and nail to make sure the voters remain ignorant, stupid and gullible! Any attempts to educate the voters is going to be resisted by both Zanu PF and CCC; I know that!

Still we must try to educate the voters regardless of the selfish agenda of our corrupt and incompetent political leaders. It is a up hill task but not mission impossible as you suggest!

“So you’re saying Zimbabweans must not participate in elections? Zanu has Madhuku and Mwonzora to run against them any day.”

Muzorewa and Sithole participated in Ian Smith’s 1978 Zimbabwe - Rhodesia Internal Settlement and it failed to garner international recognition because Zanu and Zapu, who commanded a greater popular support did not take part. In last year’s result Mnangagwa and Chamisa, according to ZEC, got 52% and 44% of the popular vote respectively. It is nonsense to argue that CCC’s boycotting of the elections would not have been noticed.

Indeed, if CCC had boycotted or, at the very least, refused to take up the few gravy train seats they won, it would have increased the pressure on SADC leaders to deny Zanu PF legitimacy after SADC election observers’ damning report of the election.

It is shocking that those who were conned by Chamisa to participate in flawed elections are, even with the benefit of hindsight, still wittering feeble excuses to justify participating. Some people are really shallow, thick and slow and no wonder we are a failed state!

U r mainly bitter and sulking from a loser's corner. We can advise you to put some fun into your thoughts and make them more sellable.”

The historic record is there for you, me or anyone to read for themselves. If I am lying that MDC/CCC leaders were bribed by Mugabe and the failed to implement even one reform during the GNU. All you need to do is name one reform they implemented!

You accent name one reform because they did not implement even one!

I know you for just one of those nincompoops on this site wittering nonsense. Of course, even a nincompoop can proffer “advice” but you should know that I am the last person to follow stupid advice!

Totally agree with you, Zanu PF has proven beyond all doubt that it is corrupt, incompetent and oppressive and should not be ruling the country. But until we figure a way to stop the regime rigging the elections it will remain in power.

MDC/CCC leaders had the golden opportunity to implement the reforms they sold out and the opportunity was wasted. What we need right now is the common sense to accept that Chamisa and company are not up to the job to implement reforms and elect others who will.

After 23 years including 5 in the GNU and not even a token reform implemented one would think the penny has dropped even in slow thinkers that MDC/CC leaders are useless. Wrong! There are many whose brains have ossified into fat and thus are impermeable to reason and logic, the penny will never ever drop.

We are stuck with Zanu PF because we are stuck with MDC/CCC. In the late 1990s, it was hard enough to get ordinary Zimbabweans to comprehend the need implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. Get many of these people to understand the opposition leaders the nation had entrusted the task to implement the reforms are not up to the mark is proving to be mission impossible because many of these people have never understood what the reforms are much less how they are to be implemented.

To judge MDC/CCC leaders as sellouts one must understand the dire consequences of Chamisa and company’s failure to implement the reforms. The truth is they have no clue what the reforms are much less the consequences of failing to implement any. It is not rocket science, it is largely common sense. But then common sense is not so common!

“Do you think that Zanu PF will not buy our poor fellow citizens to participate in those flawed elections and endorse him 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️look outside the box pal.”

Zanu PF buying officials and povo is well known. Let’s talking about Zanu PF leaders buying MDC/CCC leaders to participate.

I have said on countless occasions that CCC is Zanu PF team B in all but name. Chamisa and company were hell bent on participating in these flawed elections knowing fully well that Zanu PF was rigging that participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy but still they participated because they also knew that Zanu PF was offering a few gravy train seats.

Indeed, MDC/CCC leaders like David Coltart have acknowledge that the opposition has been participating out of greed.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

It is only you who seem to think that one has to think outside the box to believe Zanu PF would bribe MDC/CCC leaders. But then, those not us who know you are not surprised, you have the IQ of a slug!

Those ancient Greeks, who bequeathed democracy to mankind those 2 500 years ago, were right in saying the system only works when the people are educated, knowledgeable and are diligent in holding those in public office to account.

In Zimbabwe most of the voters are ignorant, naive and gullible and so both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC have taken full advantage of this to frighten and/or con the voters into doing the politician’s bidding even when it is not in the voters’ interest. It is no exaggeration to it is the politicians who hold the voters to account - the tail is savagely - in the case of Zanu PF thugs - wagging the dog!

Mnangagwa rigged the 2023 elections and both SADC and AU election observers condemned the elections as flawed and illegal making this Zanu PF government illegitimate. He has managed to get away without any political legitimacy censure for SADC thanks to CCC's participation in the flawed elections. SADC was powerless to deny Zanu PF legitimacy after CCC leaders took up their gravy train seats even after SADC and AU had condemned the elections.

Mnangagwa is taking full advantage of the implosion in CCC to consolidate Zanu PF's iron grip on power. It is incumbent on the ordinary Zimbabwean, now more than ever, to stop this illegitimate regime "cementing" the Zanu PF dictatorship.
