“I haven’t. As I said I have just read things in the newspapers. I don’t know what’s happening. No one has formally communicated to me so I can’t comment about that which is hearsay,” said Tendai Biti, when he was asked whether he had engaged with Nelson Chamisa after the later’s surprise resignation as president of CCC.
“I am a lawyer so I act on the basis of direct hard factum probandum which is hard facts. I don’t know what has happened, I don’t know what’s happening. All I can do is speak for myself and speaking for myself, I am a member of the Citizens Coalition for Change.”
I am not interested in the hotting up internal war tearing CCC apart. I am more interested in the factum probandum behind Tendai Biti and his MDC/CCC friends’ treasonous betrayal of the people of Zimbabwe which has landed us in this economic and political mess.
When Morgan Tsvangirai, Tendai Biti, Nelson Chamisa, David Coltart, Welshman Ncube and the rest of the MDC leaders launched the party in 1999, it was in answer to the people cry for democratic changes to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections to perpetuate the de facto one-party, Zanu PF, dictatorship and the bad governance it entailed. Tsvangirai and company promised to deliver the democratic changes the nation was dying for, as the party name implied - Movement for Democratic Change.
Zanu PF blatantly rigged the August 2023 elections, just as it had rigged past elections, because MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token democratic change, reform, in 23 years, including the 5 years in the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Robert Mugabe bribed the MDC leaders with the trappings of high office; the ministerial limos, the very generous salaries and allowances, the US$4 million mansion for Tsvangirai himself, etc., etc. In return, the MDC leaders forgot about implementing the reforms.
“Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” (MDC leaders have learned to enjoy the gravy train good-life; they will never rock the boat!) boasted Zanu PF cronies when asked at the time why MDC leaders were not implementing the democratic reforms.
MDC leaders like Tendai Biti and David Coltart were smart enough to realise the sheer futility of participating in Zimbabwe’s flawed elections and, more significantly, honest enough to admit it.
“Look, you can't keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections. So it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimising these sham elections which don't deliver.” Tendai Biti told Isaac Mugabi in a 2015.
“So you can't continue subjecting Zimbabweans to processes where their hopes just get crushed.”
David Coltart offered an explanation why MDC leaders in the flawed 2013 election and have been doing so ever since.
“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.
CCC leaders participated in the 2023 elections knowing fully well that Zanu PF was rigging the elections and that participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy. All the elected CCC officials took up their gravy train seats even though SADC, AU and Zimbabwe’s own ZHRC election observers had condemned the whole election process as a farce and the results, per se, illegitimate.
Nelson Chamisa and his CCC friends conned the nation into participating in the flawed 2023 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the suffering of the masses. Chamisa’s resigning from CCC is an internal matter bound to weaken the opposition and to help Zanu PF consolidate its iron grip. The enfeebled CCC will not push for any meaningful reforms to be implemented and yet certain to participate in flawed 2028 elections.
The ordinary Zimbabwean should not concern themselves how the dog-eat-dog fight amongst MDC/CCC leaders will end; they should worry about the certainty of Zanu PF rigging the 2028 elections and thus perpetuating their suffering. MDC/CCC leaders have sold out on implementing reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections and are thus perpetuating the nation’s suffering; these are the hard facts, we must concern ourselves with!
Zimbabwe is a failed state because we have failed to hold free, fair and credible elections in 43 years and counting. MDC/CCC were entrusted the important task of implementing reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections and they failed to implement even one token reform in 23 years. We need to elect competent opposition who will implement the reforms or the nation will continue to sink deeper and deeper into the abyss. Yes, it is that simple!
@ Hwende
ReplyDelete"On Tuesday I had a 2 hr conversation with President Nelson Chamisa and we discussed his resignation statement. He is clear that he will never return to the CCC and he will make an announcement on his next move in the near future.
"I agree with his decision. Tomorrow I will begin series of consultations with the people of Kuwadzana East so that I can be guided on the next move. President Chamisa remains our best foot forward to bring change in this country.”
In his book Animal Farm, George Orwell, described Boxer, the horse, who took as long to learn the first 4 letters of the alphabet as others took to learn all the 26 letters. HeY took just as long to learn the next four letters and by then it was discovered that he had forgotten the first 4!
Boxer had “Napoleon is always right!”as one of his motto. Of course, for some one as dull, thick and slow as Box, the merits or otherwise of what Napoleon did were irrelevant, it was just a matter of blind faith. It is disconcerting that Zimbabwe is full of people with the Boxer mentality.
Chamisa has failed to implement even one token reform in23 years because he and his MDC/CCC colleagues have turned out to be corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. Why anyone would still insist he is “the best foot forward for Zimbabwe” is matter of blind faith reality has nothing to do with it!
Poor Zimbabwe! The country needs someone who will implement reforms and get the nation out of this mess and instead we are stuck with leaders who have already proven they are incompetent out of blind faith!
Chamisa remains "best foot forward" for Zimbabwe - this is out of blind faith and regardless of the facts on the ground!
ReplyDeleteHow is it possible there are so many Zimbabweans who are just dull, shallow, thick and slow as Boxer in Animal Farm!

ReplyDelete“Iwe Siyana na Chamisa do your own part….”
Those who hold public office are accountable to the public, that is not negotiable. Why twats like you still think Chamisa is so special he must never be held to account in this day and age beggars belief. No wonder Zimbabwe is a failed state, we have too many twats!
Chamisa conned millions of Zimbabweans into participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy because they believed his lies of plugging all the Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes. He and his CCC colleagues must now account for misleading the the nation.
@ Chakaipa
ReplyDeleteHow naive! How many democratic changes has MDC/CCC delivered in 23 years including 5 in the GNU? You call me murakashi because I have dared to ask the question!!!!
@ Chirume
ReplyDeleteBy failing to implement even one reform and thus end the Zanu PF dictatorship Chamisa has condemned millions of ordinary people to suffering and death! So you should not be obsessed with what people say alone but what they do too!
You still do not know the difference between those holding public office and those who do not! You will not hold those holding public office to account but will hold those who do NOT to account! What a confused idiot you are!
ReplyDeleteRecalled Binga North Member of Parliament (MP) Prince Dubeko Sibanda, has resigned from the Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) party.
ReplyDeleteSibanda wrote, "Since Advocate Nelson Chamisa's disassociation with the Citizens Coalition for Change party through a letter dated 24' January 2024, I have resisted the urge to immediately follow suite in the vain hope that we can salvage the infrastructure of the party for the purposes of hedging our deployees, most of whom are cadres of great integrity, against the shocks that would emanate from his departure. My latest attempt in this vain was to initiate the formation of a steering committee to run the affairs of the party which was successfully consummated through the Citizens National Assembly meeting of the 30' January 2024.
"However, the events preceding the meeting and those that immediately followed it, have left me with no doubt, as correctly observed by Advocate Nelson Chamisa, that the Citizens Coalition for Change party has become infiltrated and contaminated beyond redemption. The party, in its current form and nature, no longer has the capacity to carry the hopes of the majority or to be salvaged for it to once again be the vehicle with which the hopes of the majority can be achieved.
"All those claiming leadership or intent to lead the party are no longer driven and motivated by the struggle of the majority. They are mere political middlemen and brokers angling to curry favor with the regime in exchange for trinkets and the funds from the Political Parties Finance Act. The agenda of the majority of suffering Zimbabweans has long been lost to them.
"It has become evident that whoever is going to access the funds of the political party will do so with the blessing and approval of the regime. Such blessing and approval do not come at a cheap price. The price is to compromise the people's struggle and be a pliant opposition to the regime.
"It has never been my mission to be a member of an opposition party that is pliant to ZANU PF or to be incorporated in the plunder of the country's resources. In such an instance, you cease to be a fighter for the voiceless majority who are suffocating under the bad governance of ZANU PF I will never compromise the struggle.
"Regrettably, and with a heavy heart, I have to announce my total disassociation with and disengagement from a party that we worked so hard to build In that organization, I leave colleagues who are genuine and credible cadres of the struggle, most of whom I worked with. It is unfortunate that they have been put in an invidious position in which they have to choose between their conscious loyalty to the struggle for all and the need to meet their immediate physical needs The majority of them are innocent victims of the political situation.
"I pray that they get the strength in the face of the pressure they face. Fortunately for me, I was assisted by the regime and its proxies in our former party not to face the same predicament.”

ReplyDeleteZimbabwe’s politician, from both side of the political divide are corrupt, incompetent, liars and hypocrites!
"It has never been my mission to be a member of an opposition party that is pliant to ZANU PF or to be incorporated in the plunder of the country's resources,” Prince Sibanda is telling us. Of course he is lying.
The five years of the GNU have proven beyond all doubt that given the right bribes MDC leaders will do anything for Zanu PF. They failed to implement even one token reform because Mugabe bribed them with the trappings of high office. And ever since the GNU they have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.
Even after SADC, AU and Zimbabwe’s own ZHRC had condemned the 2023 elections as a farce, Prince Sibanda and the rest of the CCC leaders who had won the few gravy train seats defied SADC and the AU to take up their seats. The dog-eat-dog CCC infighting has been cast in such terms one is damned if they stay in CCC and damned if they resign! To pretend one is resigning out of principles and consideration for the voters is hypocrisy and an insult to all thinking Zimbabweans out there!
CCC's MP, Prince Sibanda resign from the party because "It has never been my mission to be a member of an opposition party that is pliant to ZANU PF or to be incorporated in the plunder of the country's resources." Of course, he is lying!
ReplyDeleteMDC prove it was pliant to Zanu PF during the GNU by failing to implement even one token reform and has been participating in flawed election to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed!
He is resigning because CCC has lost political credibility and he, just like Chamisa and the rest, is damned if he does and damned if he does not!

ReplyDelete“Somebody wakes midnight kunge muroyi oisa message kutuka one who does not hold public office.
It's going insane kunge the convict Job.
We need fractum probandas - hard core evidence that Mukori is not mad and is not on payroll of the despotic regime ?
It stinks to the core, that an idiot in a foreign land urinates on victims of bad governance back home by spewing hate speech 24 hrs 7 days a week.
The chorus is from a lunatic on steroids.”
Zimbabweans are victims of the 43 years of Zanu PF misrule and all because MDC/CCC sold out by failing to implement even one token reform to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections, when they had the opportunity to do so. You, the nincompoop that you are, do not want it to said that MDC/CCC sold out and thus playing your part in perpetuating the dictatorship.
So asking Chamisa to account for conning the nation into participating in flawed 2023 elections because the people believed his “plugged all vote rigging loop holes” lies is “urinates on victims of bad governance”!
Zimbabwe is still stuck on whether or not those in public office are accountable to the people; 43 years after independence and in this day and age! This is comparable to Boxer the horse in Animal Farm taking just as long to learn the first 4 letters of the alphabet as other took to learn all the 26 letters. He took just as long again to learn the next 4 letters, only to discover he had forgotten the first 4 letters.
Zimbabwe is a failed state because we have too many village idiots with the Boxer IQ! Poor Zimbabwe, we are doomed; one cannot reason with these village idiots!

ReplyDelete“Iwewe what did you contributed ….. u only contributed speaking rubbish and nonsenses ..
If u can't manage to form your on part or organization...go to ccc there is a vacancy chamisa akasiya…”
As I said, we have some people who still do not understand the difference between those hold public office and those who do not. This is the equivalent to Boxer in Animal Farm failing to learn the first 4 letters of the Alphabet! The tragedy for Zimbabwe is that we have many Boxer the horse Zimbabweans and they have the vote! It is like giving a monkey a loaded gun, and no wonder we are a failed state!
Holding those in public office to account is not “speaking rubbish”. It is the duty of every citizen to do so and you are stifling this by attaching those who are holding politicians to account! This is Zimbabwe for you; the village idiot thinks he is doing the nation a great favour by defending corrupt and incompetent leaders!
@ Chicken breast
ReplyDeleteHere we go! So all those outside Zimbabwe are evil and those in Zimbabwe like you are wiser than King Solomon himself! I have met Zimbabweans who are outside the country who are smart just as they are some who are not smart. The same is true with Zimbabweans in the country. Why you keep wittering about being in Zimbabwe as if it is a virtue beggars belief!
We all accept that Zanu PF is corrupt and they will never reform themselves out of office. The solution was to elect the opposition that will implement the necessary reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. After 23 years, 5 in the GNU, MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one reform. Worst of all, the ordinary Zimbabweans have yet to realise CCC have been running with the povo hare and hunting with the Zanu PF hounds! Many Zimbabweans still consider Chamisa the nation’s best foot forward. How naive and gullible is that!
ReplyDeleteNations get the government they deserve and we certain deserve this Zanu PF tyranny complete with the entourage of corrupt and useless opposition parties. After 43 years of independence, in this day and age, we cannot even hold free and fair elections!
@ Mrs Thatcher
ReplyDeleteOn why some countries have the resources and yet they are poor!
Zimbabwe has the natural resources but is poor because of chronic bad governance! We have been independent for 43 years now and we still cannot hold free, fair and credible elections. Many of our people do not even know what constitute free and fair elections!
