“We have had a troubled past in our nation. We have been through many trials,” admitted David Coltart, at the launch of CCC’s 100 page 2023 Election Manifesto.
“But our nation should not be looking back. It needs to be looking forward. And in Nelson Chamisa, I see some one who is a visionary.”
This is just nonsense, sugar coated and beautifully packaged in bite size pieces to fool the naive, gullible and ignorant especially the CCC wildebeest herd.
The primary purpose of Zimbabwe’s opposition parties ever since the turn of this last century was to implement the democratic reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship and restore all human freedoms and rights. Just as the primary purpose of black nationalism before the country’s independence in 1980 was to end white colonial oppression and restore human freedoms and rights to all. Zanu PF delivered national independence but in 1980 but straight away started riding roughshod over the people, denying them their freedoms and rights.
The first two decades of our independence were dominated by the ethos the de facto Zanu PF one party dictatorship, the party had rammed down the nation’s throat especially during the Gukurahundi years, was fait accompli and sacrosanct. To question the Zanu PF dictatorship much less challenge its authority were considered a threat to the country’s unity, peace and development and thus ruthlessly crushed. The fight to restore the individual freedoms and rights including the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and even the right to life was to be done from within Zanu PF and not from outside the party. This turned out to be mission impossible!
Robert Mugabe turned out to be a megalomania and a control freak. He surrounded himself with deadwood so his star would aways out shine all. All intellectuals who were invited to join his administrations quickly learned to dime down or they never lasted. All those below him replicated his model making themselves lords in their own fiefdoms.
Only Mugabe and a select few had any real power and authority and by the time one worked his way up the grease pole to this position one would also be one of the beneficiary of the dictatorship. The motive to want to change the system was gone. Hence the widely accepted maxim: Zanu PF will never reform itself out of office.
It took nearly twenty years for the penny to drop, for the nation to reach the consensus that the country needed an alternative political party outside the de facto Zanu PF one party dictatorship to deliver the necessary democratic changes to dismantle the dictatorship.
MDC was launched in 1999 to answer the nation hunger for change as the party name implied; MDC (Movement for Democratic Change). The party was rebranded to Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) and still carrying the promise for changed.
The real tragedy is MDC/CCC has failed to deliver even one token reform in the 23 years since its launch in 1999, including the 5 years in the GNU when the party had the golden opportunity to implement all the democratic reforms the nations has been dying for. Worse still, ever since the GNU debacle, the party has been participating in flawed and illegal elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.
Zimbabwe has been stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship that has been rigging elections to stay in power because the MDC/CCC leaders voted into power for the express purpose of implementing the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging elections have sold out. David Coltart summed up the nation’s position in one paragraph.
“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.
One can well imagine Minister Coltart (he was an MDC-N Minister in the GNU) arguing with his fellow MDC friends on the sheer futility of participating in the 2013 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. Of course, he would have known SADC leaders had failed to get MDC leaders to implement even one reform during the GNU for the same reasons - greed and breath-taking incompetency.
Still he must have been disappointed his colleagues were not moved to boycott the 2013 and, five years later the 2018. He decided to join them and participated in the flawed elections against his own better judgement.
David Coltart is once again participating in Zimbabwe’s flawed and illegal elections knowing fully well that doing so will once again give legitimacy to Zanu PF and help perpetuate the dictatorship and the failed state. David Coltart has his eyes on being the mayor of Bulawayo if CCC should win the most council seats on 23 August 2023.
Not even one token democratic reform has been implemented since the 2018 elections and so these elections are just as flawed and illegal as the 2013 elections. It is bad enough for Mr Coltart and his MDC/CCC friends to keep participating in the flawed elections out of incompetency and insatiable greed. It is unforgivable for him to being selling this treasonous betrayal as the “visionary way forward!”
Zimbabwe is a failed state and the nation is in deep, deep trouble and desperately needs to dig itself out of this mess. And implementing the democratic reforms is the cure we want. We cannot have free, fair and credible elections and the blessing of good governance without implementing the reforms no more than one can have an omelette without breaking the eggs!
“Zimbabwe needs to be looking forward. And in Nelson Chamisa, I see some one who is a visionary!”
For Pete’s sake; since when has some one who has already proven to be breathtakingly incompetent and mentally blinded by greed become a visionary!!!
How indeed has such a buffoon ever got to be president? you ask yourself again and again.
ReplyDeleteAnswer: he rigged the elections. And worst of all he is rigging these 2023 elections and frogmarching povo to vote for him.
Chamisa and company know that these elections are being rigging and that participating will only give Zanu PF legitimacy. They are the ones who have insisted on participating in these flawed elections because they else know that Zanu PF is offering a few gravy train seats as bait.
Indeed they have been lying about devising winning in rigged elections strategies to hide their greed.
How long are we going to allow this madness to continue? This is the question every sane Zimbabwean out there must ask him or herself. We are masters of our own destiny and right now we are heading headlong deeper and deeper into this hell-on-earth of our own making.
In a similar fashion people will be frogmarched to vote for Zanu PF. Your vote is NOT your secret, it is surprising that there are some who still think it is. Ask yourself why the number of polling stations have been increased from 10 per constituency in 2008 to over 60 in these elections?
ReplyDeleteZANU PF senior official, Christopher Mutsvangwa has challenged those not happy with the current government led by President Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa to go to war like they did to Ian Smith.
ReplyDeleteThe real tragedy for Zimbabwe is the nation fought a biter armed struggle to end white colonial oppression only to go straight into a new struggle as yesterday’s liberators became the new oppressors. Zanu PF has murdered over 40 000 innocent Zimbabweans to establish and retain the de facto one party dictatorship that has existed these last 43 years.
The nation had the golden opportunity to end the dictatorship during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Alas! Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends who were given the task to implement the reforms sold out and failed to implement even one token reform. Worse still, ever since the GNU debacle, MDC/CCC have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of selfish greed!

We can avoid another violent struggle be it in the form of street protests or worse if only we, the people, can put on our thinking caps and stop being led by the nose like bulls, first by Zanu PF and now by CCC. We should not be participating in these flawed elections, for example.
I have said this a thousand times and we say it again, Mnangagwa would lose to a donkey if that was the alternative and the elections were free, fair and credible. So the argument is not whether Chamisa is more popular than a donkey, clearly he is. The discourse must therefore focus on whether these elections free, fair and credible? The answer to that is NO they are not.
ReplyDeleteMDC had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. They wasted it. Worse still, ever since the GNU debacle, they have insisted on participating in flawed and illegal elections, knowing that doing so would give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. They have soldiered on and participated regardless because they also knew that Zanu PF was offering a few gravy train seats.
Zanu PF is rigging and winning these elections, which the party knows it would have lost to a donkey if the elections were free and fair, thanks to CCC greed.
The analysis in this video is based on the assumption that either the elections are free and fair or that CCC has somehow stopped Zanu PF rigging the elections. This is nonsense because CCC has not implemented even one token reforms. So if the analysis is based of nonsense everything else said is nonsense.
No wonder the country is in a mess, what else when people still believe such trash!
Mnangagwa knows that the Gold Mafia documentary has confirmed his position as a corrupt leader, Mbavha, and so it is pointless pretending he is clean.
ReplyDeleteSo he is now publicly acknowledging his partners in crime, Mbavha 4ED, after all they are the ones bankrolling all this extravaganza from the chicken and chips for povo right up to US$ 400 000 bribe to all the country's judges.
Mbavha 4ED will not be disbanded after the elections but strengthened instead. There will be more ambassadors at large, all national treasures that can be looted will be looted, the looting is in overdrive already but will find a seventh gear. The looters will have five more years to build their fat reserves ready for 2028!
Those who cannot govern themselves will be no more than puppets with others pulling the strings. And nothing epitomises our failure to govern ourselves that the failure to have rule of law and to hold free and fair elections. Ever since our independence we have been fight each other to be the dominant, yesterday's liberators have become today's oppressors. Outsiders have exploited our petty division to loot us blind!
ReplyDeleteCCC's flagship winning in rigged election strategy of mass voter registration, mass voting and guarding the vote is all but dead. As of 30 May 2022, CCC had registered only 1/4m or 4% of its own set target of 6m. In 2018 the party failed to field election agents at 544 polling stations (about 2 000 according to Mwonzora) to guard the vote. It is almost certain this will happen again this year.
ReplyDeleteThere are many tricks Zanu PF has used to stay in power these last 43 years and one of them was to con first the MDC/CCC leaders and then the populous into giving up the right to free, fair and credible elections on the belief they can win rigged elections. Even after 43 years of Zanu PF Mafiosi rigging elections some people still believe they can win rigged elections. Of course, it is insane but that is Zimbabwe for you, a land of the insane!
ReplyDelete@ Godfrey
ReplyDelete“If Zanu can obtain legitimacy after a coup then a boycotted election win would be a straight walkover to legitimacy delivered on a silver plate.
The current ECOWAS stance on Niger should have been same for SADC on Zim in 2017.
This helps us understand who grants ultimate legitimacy.”
Zanu PF did NOT get political legitimacy after the 2008 watershed elections, SADC refused to endorse the 2008 elections, and the party was forced to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement (GPA), agreeing to the need for democratic reforms and the formation of the GNU to implement the reforms.
When SADC realised that not even one meaning reform was implemented during the 2008 to 2013 GNU, they advised that the elections should be postponed. Both Zanu PF and MDC ignored the advice. It is reasonable to say that SADC would have once again denied Zanu PF legitimacy in 2013 if any party had boycotted the 2013 elections because SADC were the guarantor of the 2008 GPA and they are the ones who had called for the boycott.
To argue that Zanu PF would have got political legitimacy no matter what because the party got legitimacy after the 2017 military coup is just a fallacious argument. Zanu PF was denied legitimacy in 2008 and clearly would have been denied again in 2013 if MDC had not sold out!
In any case boycotting these flawed elections is the only rational course of action when one knows that participating will not only change nothing but more significantly, will only give SADC an excuse to grant Zanu PF legitimacy.
CCC and the rest of the opposition leaders are after the few gravy train seats and/or POLAD freebies. The ordinary Zimbabwean gets nothing. So why are they giving SADC the excuse to grant Zanu PF legitimacy?
Debate, discussion or whatever have meaning if something as basic as historic facts, truths and reality are accepted and valued. Ignore facts then the whole discussion becomes utterly meaningless.
OPPOSITION MDC party says it is planning to stage a demonstration demanding electoral reforms ahead of the upcoming general elections.
ReplyDeleteIn a letter seen by NewZimbabwe.com addressed to the police, the MDC party said the demonstration will be held five days before the August 23 polls under the theme “No to Disenfranchisement.”
“We hereby notify you that on the 17th of August, 2023 the Movement for Democratic Change intends to hold a peaceful demonstration.
“The purpose of the demonstration is the demand for electoral reforms in Zimbabwe. The theme will be, “No to Disenfranchisement. We are expecting about 3000 people to attend.
“Our route will be starting at Robert Mugabe Square, down rotten row road up to 4th street, then Robert Mugabe road westwards and back,” reads the letter.
This is just a political gimmick! Mwonzora and his MDC friends had the golden opportunity to implement all the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and they failed to implement even one token reform. The GNU was chalked in to last 18 months but ended up lasting 60 months and still MDC failed to implement even one token reform.
SADC leaders literally begged MDC leaders not to participate in the 2013 elections without reforms by their pleas fell on deaf ears. Mwonzora and company participated in the 2013 and 2018 elections.
Mwonzora has lot political support and so he now suddenly remembers these elections are flawed and illegal. How convenient!
Zimbabwe is still stuck with this Zanu PF dictatorship precisely because Chamisa and his MDC/CCC friends sold out on reforms and the ones giving Zanu PF legitimacy by participating in flawed elections out of greed. How then can we be going in the right direction and call Chamisa a visionary leader?
ReplyDeleteAfter 43 years of rigged elections, how many more years of this will it take before we finally admit we need reforms and free elections?

Video of a Zanu PF lorry threatening CCC supporters in Mt Darwin East.
ReplyDeleteThis will never be stopped without first implementing the reforms and it is infuriating that MDC/CCC not only sold out on reforms but re the ones insisting on holding the elections with no reforms!
These are NOT free, fair and credible elections. Whatever winning in rigged elections strategies Chamisa had, they have NOT WORKED. And so we have to once again ask, why is the nation being dragged into flawed and illegal elections only to give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy?
@ Esquire
ReplyDelete“When Tsvangirai withdrew from the run off, did that stop ZANU PF from proceeding with the election?
Did they not declare and parade the winner?”
Yes Zanu PF went on with the elections even after Tsvangirai withdraw but it was precisely because of the blatant cheating and wanton violence that both SADC and AU refused to endorse the Zanu PF victory and deny them political legitimacy. It was this denial of legitimacy that forced Zanu PF to agree to the need for democratic reforms. The primary task of 2008 to 2013 GNU was to implement the democratic reforms. MDC leaders sold out by failing to implement even one reform in five years.
The MDC/CCC leaders have gotten away with the betrayal on reforms because many Zimbabweans out there have no clue, even now with the benefit of hindsight, what the reforms are much less how they were to be implemented.
Zimbabwe is a failed state because we have corrupt and incompetent buffoons in the ruling party, Zanu PF; corrupt and incompetent sell outs in the opposition camp and, to crown it all, naive and gullible electorate who are doing their bit to keep the buffoons and sell-outs in power!
@ Steven Mokgalapa
ReplyDelete“In South Africa alone, there are an estimated 1,6 million Zimbabweans, and many of those are people of voting age, and located close enough to take the trip back to vote.
The narrow outcomes of the 2018 elections show that diasporas who are registered voters can make a difference if they take the time to go and vote on August 23.
The final results of the 2018 elections showed that Nelson Chamisa had 2,15 million votes, while Emmerson Mnangagwa obtained 2,46 million votes. This is a narrow margin that is dwarfed by the number of people who make the trip to Zimbabwe during the December holidays.
Understandable scepticism.”
Many people have said that if the elections were free and fair people would vote for the donkey if the alternative was Zanu PF. This underlines the sheer desperation of the nation for change. MDC has not won the elections because Zanu PF has rigged the elections. Yes, if everyone in the diaspora returned home it will make vote rigging that much harder but clearly not impossible. The important task is implementing the reforms to make sure elections are free, fair and credible.
The most important task for Zimbabwe is to implement the democratic reforms, this is the course tune, and all the other changes, although important, will only have a minimum effect as they all depend on reforms being implemented.
A very sad tale with a disappointing end and what makes it worse is that she is encouraging the youth to reap her own mistakes. Zimbabwe is in this mess because she, like all of us, believed everything Zanu PF leaders said and followed blindly no questions asked. She is asking the youth to do the same with CCC regardless of Chamisa and company's track record of incompetency and betrayal!
ReplyDeleteMugabe and his Zanu PF cronies have always wanted absolute power and hence imposed a de facto one party dictatorship. Over 40 000 innocent Zimbabweans have lost their lives in establishing and retaining the dictatorship.
Chamisa and his CCC are autocrats masquerading as democrats. Chamisa is making all the decisions and is accountable to no one, just as Mugabe and now Mnangagwa is doing, under the pretext he fears infiltration. And we are to fear infiltration more than we fear a tyrant with absolute power!
Those who will not learn from the past are destined to repeat the same mistakes over and over again, generation after generation, to the end of time.

ReplyDeleteThe joke is on you! Zanu PF has rigged elections for 43 years and counting and you are foaming and frothing because you don't want to hear Zanu PF is rigging the elections again. Well the message that Zanu PF is rigging the elections will be hammered home with a sludge hammer. The most important task is to put an end to this madness and middle finger to your misplaced egotistic idiocy!
“Zimbabwean war heroes and heroines subordinated their personal interests to the collective interest of Zimbabwe. They accepted and endured pain with fortitude, even unto death, for our right to vote. You and I are the beneficiaries of their efforts. The vote that we will cast on August 23 to select the country’s President, Members of Parliament and local authority councillors is how we guarantee that our Government remains of the people, by the people and for the people. That is true democracy. It is crucial to remember that for much of our history, the right to vote was limited to the whites and a few selected blacks.
ReplyDeleteThey fought, they won and now it's our duty to defend what they fought for ✊🇿🇼”
43 years after independence and we are yet to hold our first ever free, fair and credible elections. The real true liberation heroes and heroines who paid the ultimate price with their very lives must be turning in the graves to see what Zimbabwe has become - the textbook case failed state.
@Shamu
ReplyDelete“Wakatadziswa chii neZanu PF iwe? Some people just fail themselves in life and blame politics. If you ask me I would rather be living all my life in Zimbabwe.Ive had children in UK and I have some in Zim. I work hard on Zim the same way I work in UK.If u are able bodied Zim is best.”
Talk of a good question, that must be one of the most foolish questions asked!
Zanu PF has not only betrayed me but millions of Zimbabweans out there now living in abject poverty and denying them their basic human rights and freedoms. The hundreds of thousands of men and women who sacrificed their very lives for the country’s freedom and human dignity must be turning in their graves to see how the country has become a failed state.
Zimbabwe has failed to hold free, fair and credible elections since the country’s independence. And Zanu PF is once again rigging these elections; dragging the nation deeper and deeper into the abyss.
“Wakatadziswa chii neZanu PF iwe?” What an idiotic question!!!!
@ Mukanya
ReplyDeleteLet me remind you exactly what you said.
“Uyu munhu acharega rini kungonyora chinhu chimwe chete for two months. Taneta ne nyaya dzako dzekuti rigged elections. Takati form your party then u negotiate ne Zanupf on reforms. Hapana mwana we Zim asingazive kuti Zanupf yakaramba kare kuita ma reforms.”
My reply addressed you point, that I should not raise my concerns that Zanu PF is rigging these elections and the opposition are participating out of greed. Of course, it is idiotic that you should be fuming and frothing about my reaped warning of the rigged elections but indifferent about the act itself, especially after 43 years of rigged elections.
Are you saying that the opposition must not be held to account for selling out on reforms and participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy? I should form my own political party and negotiate with Zanu PF? Of course, it is foolish notion that the opposition is not accountable to the people and I am here to make sure that they are.
You are fuming and frothing not so much at the warning that Zanu PF is rigging the elections but that I should not say the opposition is participating out of greed. Of course they are participating out of greed and I will say it loud and a thousand times because it is true and relevant. Of course, you are being idiotic to try to silence the truth! I do not need to form a political party to speak the truth!
@ Comfee
ReplyDeleteSo you think these elections are going to be free, fair and credible just because Chamisa said he has plugged all the holes of Zanu PF rigging the election? How naive you! No wonder the country is a failed state, we have some of the most naive, shallow and thick people on planet earth!
Zanu PF is rigging these elections and the opposition are participating to give the regime legitimacy. This message must and will be hammered into your thick head! Come 24 August, not even the village idiots will say they did not know that Zanu PF was rigging the elections and Chamisa and company were participating out of greed.
@ Comfee
ReplyDelete“No one said the elections will be free and fair. Do you even think that Zanu PF is looking for legitimacy from these elections?
Zanu PF is doing these elections to tick the constitutional box only otherwise there is nothing else.
You do not proffer any solutions other than pointing that there haven't been any reforms.
The opposition is doing whatever it can to occupy spaces that would be used by Zanu PF to entrench its rule. That is why they wanted a compliant opposition like the one Dougie was leading.
Any same Zimbabwean knows that we are in for a long run to dislodge Zanu pf from its pedestal and it wont be easy.”
It is a historic fact that MDC/CCC has failed to implement even one token reform in 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU. Worse still, that they have been participating in these flawed elections out of greed. What is more, they know this themselves.
You can witter all you want about opposition “doing whatever it can to occupy spaces that would be used by Zanu PF to entrench its rule.” The truth is they are participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating the dictatorship for the sake of a few gravy train seats and/or POLAD freebies!
If you are told there are crocodiles in the river and you can see “logs” floating upstream towards you; would you still swim because no one warned you? You have been warned these elections are so flawed you cannot change the Zanu PF victory but by participating you will give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the nation’s suffering. If you cannot figured it out that you MUST not participate, then you will perpetuate the failed state and rightly deserve to suffer.
“You do not proffer any solutions!” Fcuk me!
This barbarism is still happening in Zimbabwe for three reasons:
ReplyDeleteZanu PF thugs’ love of absolute power and all the political influence and wealth is has brought them is insatiable, they would burn the country down and beat, rape and kill to remain in power.
SADC created the golden opportunity for the nation to implement the democratic reforms to end the Zanu PF reign of terror during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and MDC leaders wasted it. They failed to implement even one token reform.
Ever since the GNU debacle MDC/CCC and the rest of the opposition have participating in flawed elections knowing fully well they will give legitimacy to the Zanu PF rigged elections because they were after the few gravy train seats and the POLAD freebies Zanu PF was offering as bait.
The opposition’s greed is stopping the implementation of the democratic reforms to end the vote rigging and the wanton violence!
What wrong had this young man done to deserve this inhuman punishment? What kind of a nation would allow this barbarism to happen?
How long are we going to allow both Zanu PF and these opposition sell outs hold the nation to ransom? We should stop these elections until there is rule of law and all the democratic reforms are implemented. Enough is enough!
@ Junior
ReplyDelete“If Zanu is going to rig the elections so what should the nation do.”
The 2008 elections were the watershed, no one not even SADC and AU, who had turned a blind eye to Zanu PF rigged elections until then, could NOT pretend the elections were free, fair and credible. It was SADC who forced Zanu PF to accept the need for implementing democratic reforms. It was MDC/CCC leaders who failed to implement even one reform in five years. And they are the ones who have been insisting on participating in these elections with no reforms out of greed.
It is all very well to now ask “If Zanu PF is going to rig the elections so what should the nation do?”
What did the said nation do when MDC failed to implement even one reforms? NOTHING!
What dd the said nation do when MDC/CCC and decided to participate in flawed elections knowing fully well that doing so would only give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the nation’s suffer? The people played along, participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy even after they have been warned this was insane.
If you are told there are crocodiles in the river and you can see “logs” floating upstream towards you; would you even ask what shall I do? You been warned it is insane to participate in flawed elections, you can see CCC’s so called winning in rigged elections strategies are all hot air, will give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the nation’s suffering. Of course, it is idiotic to still ask “What should the nation do?” Don’t participate, of course!
@ Frank
ReplyDelete“No you did not get me mukuru. Opposition must be held responsible correct. They did not implement even 1 reform then yes they failed. What is the next best step to take to correct that. In parliament opposition in not the majority how can we tackle the issue of reforms now.”
And think participating to give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy for the umpteenth time is the solution?
No wonder the country is in a mess, we really have more than our fair share of mentally challenged individuals and they have the vote. Nations get the government they deserve, we in Zimbabwe certainly deserve this failed state and unless we do something to improve the intellectual quality of our electorate Zimbabwe will remain a pariah state ruled by buffoons.
So why has the number of polling stations gone up from 10 per constituency in 2008 to over 60 this year and the constituency voters' roll was abolished in favour of a polling station voters' roll. Zanu PF operatives have the Polling Station voters' roll and they will know who voted. And within an hour or less of the PS result coming out they will know who voted for Zanu PF with a high degree of certainty.
ReplyDeleteYou can witter all you want that one's vote is your secret. The truth is it is not! Operation green mangoes is just another idiotic nonsense. The trouble with you is that you do not even have common sense. No rural villager will ever insult these village heads when they know what happened in the 2008 Operation Mavhotera papi.
In 2018 there were 544 PS with no MDC A elections agents, 544 V11 forms Zanu PF could tamper with to produce a Mnangagwa victory. If Mnangagwa was being beaten by Chamisa by 40 000 votes for example, the 544 V11 forms needed only to increase Mnangagwa’s votes by 200 each and Wallah! Mnangagwa is leading by over 60 000!
Zanu PF has blocked the €3 million funds to train and deploy election agents. It is no secret that CCC have a shoe string budget and are waste the little they have producing glossy election manifesto, etc. CCC will not afford to have election agents in all the over 12 000 PS. By the end of this week Zanu PF will know just how many PS will have no CCC election agents.
After all the hoo-has about protecting the vote, CCC will not even have the most basic frontline protections - PS election agents! Chamisa has already said he will have agents at all PSs but we can be certain this is just another blast of hot air!
Like it or not Zanu PF is rigging these elections and by participating CCC and the rest of the opposition are giving Zanu PF legitimacy and all for the sake of the few gravy train seats and POLAD freebies!
As for you, you will be complaining of Zanu PF rigging the elections and/or blaming povo for voting for Zanu PF. What a plava! You are still hoping to win rigged election, even after 43 years of rigged elections, the penny has not dropped.
Former CCC Chiredzi West councillor Eilfanosi Mupfumba was stoned to death by Zanu PF thugs.
ReplyDeleteThis is the price the nation must pay for failing to implement the democratic reforms even when we had the golden opportunity to do so and for the opposition dragging the nation into flawed elections for the sake of a few gravy train seats and POLAD freebies.

@ R Mahupete
ReplyDelete“Guys, ndimi makadhakwa. Wiri is saying that your participation is of no consequence, the election is lost before the vote is cast. His advice for non-participation is also of no consequence, however he sees the light.”
On the contrary refusing to participating in these flawed elections will be to agree with SADC leaders’ own position in June 2013 when they begged Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends NOT to participate in the July 2013 elections with no reforms. This will pile the pressure of SADC to stop granting Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship. By participating in the 2013 elections and those that followed SADC had the excuse for granting Zanu PF legitimacy arguing that is what Zimbabweans want otherwise why are they ignoring our advice too!
Even if SADC was to grant Zanu PF legitimacy even if the people of Zimbabwe refuse to participate this time, we know SA’s ANC government is hell bent on stopping regime change in Zimbabwe, people must refuse to participate because that is the only rational thing to do!
There is a mountain of evidence to prove Zanu PF is rigging these election and condemn these 2023 elections. With no reforms implemented many of us feared this would happen and our worst fears have come true.
ReplyDeleteThe only sure way to stop the rigging and wanton violence is by implementing the democratic reforms and end this madness.

ReplyDelete“Yesterday (12th August 2023), Chiredzi West Zanu-PF and Forever Associates of Zimbabwe (FAZ) members brutally assaulted Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) member, Mr. Elifanos Mupfumba.
[See attached video of Mr. Mupfumba lying unconscious after being beaten by Zanu-PF members.]
He was assaulted at Mafodya Shops in Ward 16, Chiredzi West.
Mr. Mupfumba is the former councillor in Ward 18.”
Chamisa and his MDC/CCC friends failed to implement even one reform when they had the golden opportunity to do so during the GNU. And ever since the GNU debacle they have been participating in these flawed elections out of greed. They know and have readily admitted it.
“Look, you can't keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections. So it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimizing these sham elections which don't deliver. This country will go through a serious economic crisis in 2020 caused by Zanu PF. And yet, this is the only country where a government doesn't perform, it is encouraged by a super majority in parliament,” said Tendai Biti in a 2015 interview with Isaac Mugabi.
“So you can't continue subjecting Zimbabweans to processes where their hopes just get crushed.”
David Coltart explained why MDC leaders have been hell bent on participating in these flawed elections.
Chamisa said he had plug all the Zanu PF holes to rig these elections. Is he ever going to admit that he is lying and space the nation the tragedies of more beatings, murders and the consequences of another five years of this failed state? Or is he going to attend the funeral for the purpose of giving yet another empty eulogy and shedding another bucketful of crocodile tears!

Zanu PF is rigging these elections becomes MDC/CCC failed to implement the democratic reforms even when they had the golden opportunity to do so. You lot are participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for the sake of the few gravy train seats and the POLAD freebies.
People are desperate for change and CCC is exploiting their desperation telling them the party will win big when all it is doing in dragging deeper into the abyss by giving Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating the dictatorship.
@ Jemwa
ReplyDelete“Which SADC are you talking about. The same grouping which endorsed 2013 and 2018 elections as free and fair. Please stop making noise.”
It is interesting to note that you are blaming SADC for “endorsing 2013 and 2018 elections as free and fair”. But has never blamed MDC for failing to implement even one reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and yet that was the primary purpose of the GNU. When SADC leaders realised that not even one reform was implemented they literally begged MDC not to participate in the flawed 2013 elections but once again Tsvangirai and company ignored the warning out of greed. Some MDC leaders have admitted they are participating in these flawed elections out of greed.
Armed with all these historic facts you still ignore them and blame SADC for all Zimbabwe’s troubles. How nauseating!
“All Cluster Secretaries please note that ZEC will conduct Polling Agents training on the 17th- 19th of August 2023. Please note that ZEC will not admit any Agent which they have not trained, therefore you advised to make sure all candidates and agents take note of these dates and attend these trainings as shall be advised.”
ReplyDeleteMDC A failed to field election agents in 544 Polling Stations in 2018, Chamisa admitted (about 2 000 according to Mwonzora). It is almost certain CCC will not have elections agents in all of the over 12 000 PSs, there is the problem of intimidation and then lack of funds.
Zanu PF has block the €3 million foreign funding to pay for the training and deployment of election agents for Zanu PF, MDC and CCC. It is ok for Zanu PF, it has the war-chest from all the looting activities but not so for the other two.
Chamisa has been wittering about "guarding the vote" and yet he cannot provide even the most basic frontline guards. Where there are no opposition election agents Zanu PF can declare whatever result they want to help party candidates over the line! Just 100 more votes in each of the 544 PS, for example, will generate 54 400 votes. Mnangagwa won the 2018 race with 40 000.

ReplyDelete“Mubvunzo wangu unoti how does the opposition implement the reforms outside of parliament. Ok if they are in parliament and they are not the majority poitwa sei nekuti Zanu PF will never reform itself out of power.”
The rules to solve simple arithmetic cannot be used to solve the more complex problems of algebra or trigonometry. The trouble with some people is that they insist on viewing all the problems as simple arithmetic and therefore refuse to accept any solution other than one defined by BODMAS!
The question you should be asking is not: How does the opposition implement the reforms outside of parliament, now? In a system designed to produce a Zanu PF parliamentary majority, it is an exercise in futility.
So, the right question now is: Why is the opposition participating in an elections process so flawed only they ever do is give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy? The answer to that is greed and breath-taking incompetence.
The question you should also ask is: Why did MDC fail to implement even one reform during the GNU when they had the golden opportunity to do so? The answer to that is also greed and breath-taking incompetence.
The very fact that there millions of Zimbabweans who continue to follow MDC/CCC leaders regardless of their proven track record of being corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent speaks volumes of just how shallow, thick and slow the voters are. It also explains why the country is a failed state, of course!
@ Sam
ReplyDelete“I will admit that it is unfair to compare processes in a country 43 years of independence to a country that has enjoyed 247 years of Independence except that Zimbabwe is a country bereft of democracy. Until the recent election period, previous elections were bloody punctuated by hate speech. With access to the media restricted, chaotic general elections in Zimbabwe produced the same predictable results: the return of the same autocrats and vampire elites back to power, the demoralization and even the radicalization of the opposition, and the bastardization of the word "democracy." Will the current elections be different?”
The Americans established a democratic system of government from the word go. We are failing to hold free, fair and credible elections and once in power our leaders are like barnacles, you have to use brute force to prize them off the throne. After 43 years of independence we are on our second president after the first was removed in a military coup. We will certainly need another violent uprising to remove this one since he is rigging elections too!
We did not need to reinvent democracy but only apply it. And yet here we are we do not even know what constitute free, fair and credible elections and hence the reason for the opposition idiotic notion of winning rigged elections. We have given up the right to free and fair elections in search for winning rigged elections; that is giving up gold for fools’ gold. Even after 43 years of rigged elections, the penny has not dropped!
@ JC
ReplyDeleteHow naive! Which part of "the election process is so flawed and illegal you cannot change the outcome and all the opposition are going by participating is give Zanu PF legitimacy"; are you failing to understand!
It is not just me who has called for reforms, SADC, the EU and even some MDC/CCC leaders like Biti and Coltart have done the same thing; not that you would notice. You are a great intellectual to notice such trivial details!
@ Musoni
ReplyDeleteZanu PF would rather burn down the country than let anyone else rule it and hence the reason it was important for the nation to have implemented the reforms during the GNU when we had the chance. Right now what we can do is denounce these opposition sell outs who are participating in these flawed election to give Zanu PF legitimacy for the sake of a few gravy train seats and POLAD freebies.
It is insane for ordinary Zimbabweans to participate in these flawed elections to perpetuate their own suffering!
73% of the people voted for change in the March 2008 plebiscite but they dd not get it because Zanu PF vote rigging machine was switched back on in time to stop ZEC announcing that result. The vote rigging juggernaut has never been switched of since then and as long as Zanu PF retains the carte blanche powers to rig the elections there will never be democratic change in Zimbabwe.
ReplyDeleteCCC and the rest in the opposition camp are participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for the sake of the few gravy train seats and POLAD freebies on offer as bait.
These polls are utterly meaningless. How does anyone conduct a meaningful poll in a country where the voters are frogmarched to vote?
The nation's agenda to deliver democratic reforms and free elections is been forfeited for selfish greed. We need to open our eyes and stop this insanity.
Mahere asking people to adopt a Polling Station
ReplyDeleteGuarding the vote was one of CCC's key promises and yet here we are they cannot do even the most basic frontline act of guarding the vote by having an election agent at the Polling Station. In 2018 MDC failed to field agents in 544 PS according to Chamisa (Mwonzora said it was about 2 000).
By awarding 100 more votes for Mnangagwa at each one of the 544, for example, he would have 54 400 votes. Mnangagwa won with 40 000 votes. Rigging made easy!
It is almost certain CCC will not have agents at all the over 12 000 PSs. Of course, CCC will never admit it. Never!
Just as happened in Harare, Zanu-PF rallies — held in many parts of the country so far — have become a symbol of the acute social and economic inequalities the country has experienced in years.
ReplyDeleteThe inequalities are spurred on by what has been termed ‘exclusionary' leadership that enriches only a few while impoverishing the majority.'
With the country's economy continually underperforming and the ordinary workers earning below the poverty datum line, Zimbabwe now only has two major social classes: the very rich and often corrupt politically connected elite and the very poor formal and informal workers.
This has left the extraction of minerals as one of the contentious and lucrative businesses that has the potential to quickly elevate one up the social ladder.
According to recent research, Zanu-PF political elites have maintained tight control of the extraction, refinery and export of mineral resources for political gain.
In Al Jazeera's documentary, Angel said Sakupwanya was "the biggest gold guy in Zimbabwe.
In July, Sakupwanya is reported to have spent well over US$1 million to bring retired American former world boxing champion, Floyd Mayweather to the country.
For his constituency, he has used what he calls personal funds to drill boreholes and resurface some roads.
He also recently "bought" three ambulances and pledged to pay Mabvuku Clinic nurses' salaries from his own pocket.
According to the report, gold remains a major political issue especially after the government launched an ambitious five-year plan to grow the mining sector earnings to US$ 1.2 billion in 2023 to US$2.7 billion in 2027.
"It is important to observe how such initiatives oil the ruling party's patronage machine by creating enough spoils for elites to share and therefore maintain coercion," the report says.
"During interviews, sources pointed out that miners, whether involved in politics or not, are happy to finance activities of the party to protect their interests.
"Some ruling party politicians see their continued accumulation in the sector as intricately tied to power retention, and vice-versa."
In addition to funding elections, the gold chain is a source of political violence as confirmed by the research.
"There is a heightened risk that mining-linked machete gangs may be instrumentalised for violent political acts leading up to elections," reads the report.
"Gangs are emboldened by a sense of protection by their sponsors who often are powerful politicians.”
Zanu PF is using the chicken pieces and chips as the proverbial carrot for the poor majority, the masses. For the more politically power the party has been a lot more generous from buying US$ 60 000 twin cab trucks for chiefs to US$ 400 000 housing “loan” for all the country’s judges.
The party has not forgotten the stick there is the usual intimidation, beatings and even killings. The level of wanton violence is not that of 2008, but every one knows it can be scaled up at the drop of a hat.
The party needs the opposition to participate in these elections to get political legitimacy and benefits of winning the few gravy train seats plus the POLAD freebies has become irresistible. So irresistible, the party has been obliged to introduce stiff nomination fees just to dampen the enthusiasm.
Zimbabwe will never ever have free, fair and credible elections without first implementing the democratic reforms - that is a fact. The opposition have all but given up on reforms, as long as they get a share of the spoils of power they will participate in these flawed elections no matter what!
THe Al Jazeera documentary revealed that corruption has become rampant in Zimbabwe and Mnangagwa himself is the Mafia Godfather. There really is no point is denying this and so Mnangagwa is accepting and publicly welcoming his mafia affiliates. After all it is the looters who are bankrolling the well-funded Zanu PF vote rigging machine!
ReplyDeleteZanu PF has spend well over US$5 billion on chicken pieces and chips for the bused rally attendees, to US$60 000 twin cab trucks for chiefs, US$ 400 000 housing loans for all the judges, etc., etc. The looters will have the next five years to reload, they are going nowhere.
The August 23 harmonised elections have already been tainted because conditions for free and fair polls do not exist, legal expert Musa Kika has said.
ReplyDeleteKika, who is the Zimbabwe Human Rights NGO Forum executive director, expressed concern over biased policing and unequal treatment of political parties by the Zimbabwe Republic Police.
Speaking during an Election Resource Centre-initiated Press conference on the Openness of the Electoral Environment before the 2023 Harmonised Elections, Kika said: "The 2023 harmonised elections have already been tainted before polling. The elections have been characterised by higher levels of closed space, tilted playing field, and disbarment and exclusion of opponents.
"This has primarily been enabled by manipulation of the law and of State institutions which facilitate for free, fair and credible elections, among them the police, the electoral management body, the Judiciary and State media.
"The perennial challenges of Chapter 12 institutions (commissions), which include funding deficits, capacity deficits and deliberate undermining, render these institutions virtually non-determinant and almost inconsequential in any election, 2023 is no different," he added.
What is disappointing here is that the opposition knew all these things would happen and still the decided to participate “no matter what” because of greed.
Tendai Biti is one of CCC Vice Presidents. David Coltart, who is CCC Treasurer General, went one step further to reveal why the opposition are participating.
How long are we going to allow this circus of flawed elections and greed to continue, dragging the whole nation deeper and deeper into the abyss?
Team Pachedu advise people to go to their rural areas to help protect the vote!
ReplyDeleteThis is just wishful thinking. Rural voters will be frogmarched to vote for Zanu PF, many Polling Stations will have no opposition elections agents (in 2018 it was 544 this time it is certain to be more), etc., etc. There will be nothing to protect!
The very idea of winning rigged elections is a foolish notion. We need to implement reforms to guarantee free, fair and credible elections and stop this running around like headless chickens.
ReplyDeleteMDC/CCC leaders are participating in these elections out of greed they have admitted it themselves the trouble is we have people who are so nave they believe the lie CCC has winning in rigged elections strategies, the smoke screen to hide the greed.
All the nation's dead heroes and heroines must be spinning in their graves to see how Zimbabwe has become the world's textbook case of a failed state. 43 years after independence and we still cannot govern ourselves we cannot even hold free, fair and credible elections!
ReplyDeleteThe vote must be meaningful and that is only possible when elections are free, fair and credible. Every one knows that these elections a flawed and the opposition are participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy because they are after the few gravy train seats and POLAD freebies on offer as bat!

ReplyDelete“Please come back and lead us in the implementation of these reforms.. come.and get the ball rolling Wiri.”
It is not so much the lack of political party much less leaders that has landed Zimbabwe in this mess but the lack of quality citizens who can think for themselves. People are participating in these flawed elections knowing they will only give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating their own suffering - how is that for being foolish!

ReplyDelete“The father of the Chinese economic miracle is Deng Xiaoping. He is the one who crafted the policies that made the economic giant that it is now. In the same vein, ED is set to become the Deng Xiaoping of Zimbabwe with his astute and practical leadership. You cannot boost agriculture with seasonal rains The dams under construction are at 56% complete and will see target of 500 000 hectares under irrigation achieved.
There are many prosperous countries in this world which do not hold elections, eg UAE, Qatar ,Saudi etc. To prosper ,a nation needs astute and practical leaders, and Cde ED fits the bill.”
True but there are many countries that are failed states like Zimbabwe who are a failed state and stuck precisely because they cannot remove the failed regime that is in office.
Even countries like China, which you were praising, it was a failed state until Deng Xiaoping came along. With the tyrant now in office the country can backslid overnight, he he was to launch a war to retake Taiwan, for example, which he is threaten to do for no other reason than to bolster his hold on power.
The people of Zimbabwe have a right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and will not give that up on the basis of the nonsensical argument that ED is what Deng Xiaoping was to Chna. ED is a corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous buffoon!
“Ramaposa attacks Omicron🇫🇷give us back what you took for 400 years from Africa.”
ReplyDeleteSA is well on its way to becoming just another failed African State, just like Zimbabwe is a failed state, after nearly 30 years of ANC misrule. One has to ask whether making Africa a failed continent made it more or less vulnerable to exploitation? The answer is clearly the latter.
There is no denying that we in Zimbabwe got rid of one colonial oppressor only to admit another, the Chinese, through the back door. China is robbing Zimbabwe blind and worst of all it is the one bankrolling Zanu PF’s vote rigging juggernaut for the sole purpose of keeping the regime in power so the looting can continue.
It therefore laughable that African leaders are getting very excited about recovering what the West looted from us for 400 years but are doing nothing about the East looting from us right now!
Indeed, President Ramaphosa and his ANC government have vowed they will not allow regime change in Zimbabwe. In other words ANC will pressure SADC to grant vote rigging Zanu PF political legitimacy. This must be very welcome news to Zanu PF’s handlers, the Chinese.

ReplyDelete“That’s true. The western style of democracy is not suitable for Africa. It is a waste of time and resources. What we need us economic development. Authoritarian rule is necessary to drive people in the direction of economic development. Russia, China, Asian Tigers and the Arab States are a perfect example.”
Zimbabwe has never held free, fair and credible elections and so stop talking this nonsense of “western style of democracy is not suitable for Africa”! Russia is a backward nation compare to its own democratic neighbours like Finland and Norway. China was a impoverished nation until Deng Xiaoping and now with this demagogue in power now backslid into poverty if he invaded Taiwan as he is threaten to do.
Mnangagwa, just like Mugabe before him, is just a corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous buffoon and not a intellectual visionary like Deng Xiaoping. How anyone would want to be stuck with a murderous buffoon in the hope he become a good leader if he is granted absolute power, beggars belief!
Let me say this again: Zimbabwe is a failed state precisely because the nation is stuck with the same failed Zanu PF regime that has rigged elections to stay in power since 1980. What those church buffoon should be calling for is an end to rigged elections!
ReplyDeleteZanu PF is rigging these elections and is frogmarching voters just to be certain, you, Chitando, and your CCC friends are participating in these flawed elections no matter what out of greed. THe wanton violence and the rigging could have been stopped by now if you lot had implemented the reforms. The nation has paid dearly for your greed and this madness cannot be allowed to continue!
ReplyDeleteRamaphosa is fighting the West to retain what they looted from Africa the last 400 years and yet he doing nothing to stop Chinese looting from Zimbabwe right now making the country a failed state.
ReplyDeleteIndeed, ANC has vowed not to allow regime change in Zimbabwe, Ramaphosa is going to forcing SADC to grant Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship so the looting can continue for five more years.
Ramaphosa is using Zimbabwe as a pawn in his imaginary war with the West. We must not allow this!

Mwonzora and Mangwana were the co-chair of the parliamentary committee that wrote the 2013 constitution. Tsvangirai boasted that it was "MDC child"! Mangwana boasted that Mugabe dictated it. Here was Mugabe reminding all he had all the power.
ReplyDeleteOf course, Zimbabweans were very foolish to approve the new constitution in the March 2013 referendum. It promised all the rights and freedoms in one section and took them all away in the next. It came as no surprise that it failed its first test - to deliver a free, fair and credible election.
People approved is in a hurry and have since been regretting it. We did not pay attention to detail and have paid dearly for it. Both the constitution needs revisiting and the reforms to implemented or the nation will never ever get out of the hell-hole we are stuck in. Never!
We are doing the same thing with participating in these flawed elections only to give Zanu PF legitimacy. Those who do not learn from the past are destined to repeat the same foolishness and pay!
Uzumba CCC MP candidate appealing for funds to train and pay election agents.
ReplyDeleteIn 2018 MDC A failed to field election agents in 544 Polling Stations (PS). In terms of "guarding the vote" this is the most basic requirement because without an opposition agent there will no one to stop the PS sending a revised V11 to boost the Mnangagwa's vote. For example by give 100 more vote to Mnangagwa in all the 544 PSs Mnangagwa's tally will go up by 54 400!
Zanu PF blocked the €3 million offered to train and deploy elections agents for Zanu PF, MDC and CCC. Zanu PF did not need the finance help but the other two parties did. It is almost certain CCC will have no agents at many, many PSs on 23 August! This is nothing short of a vote rigging bonus for Zanu PF!
Zanu PF is rigging these 2023 elections. CCC and the rest in the opposition camp knows that by participating they are giving Zanu PF legitimacy and still they do it regardless because they are after the few gravy train seats and the POLAD freebies on offer as bait.

ReplyDelete“So you have woken up from the illusion ye 'SADC' as a non starter in your campaign for 'non participation' as a tool for ‘reforms’!!"
The SADC of the GNU and June 2013 was different from the SADC of post 2013 elections. Which one are you talking about?
“Will the military handover power to Chamisa if he wins”
ReplyDeleteHe admitted that 90% of the rigging is the unfair playing field, ZEC that failed to produce a verified voters' roll, bribed judges ruling in favour of Zanu PF, the Police who fail to stop the wanton violence against the opposition, the rural voters who are frogmarched to vote for Zanu PF, etc.
All these excessive Zanu PF powers cannot be countered by mass voting, for example, because ZEC will make it near impossible to register, move your name from one polling station to another without your knowledge and even delete your name.
The only way to end Zanu PF's corrupting influence is by implementing the democratic reforms. The country had the golden opportunity to implement the reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. MDC leaders sold out and failed to implement even one reform. MDC/CCC leaders themselves have admitted it is futile to participate with no reforms implemented. They are doing it out of greed.
It is shocking that many Zimbabweans out there have no clue the primary purpose of the GNU was to implement the reforms and much less that MDC leaders sold out, even now with the benefit of hindsight. If they did then they would not be supporting the opposition who are participating in these flawed elections to perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship for the sake of the few gravy train seats and/or the POLAD freebies.
Nation get the governments they deserve, we in Zimbabwe certainly deserve the corrupt, vote rigging and tyrannical Zanu PF buffoons and the entourage of corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless opposition sell outs. We do even know what constitute free, fair and credible elections and hence our idiotic expectation to win rigged elections even after 43 years of rigged elections.
@ Temba Mliswa
ReplyDelete“If you want to read the summarised version of what I did in this term visit this Telegram Channel for the full document.”
The likes of Tendai Biti and David Coltart figured it out after the 2013 elections that without reforms it was futile to participate in these flawed elections. They must have tried to convince the rest of their opposition colleagues to boycott the elections but failed. Coltart explained why.
Temba Mliswa, like the rest in the opposition, is participating in these flawed elections out of greed. Therefore his number one accomplishment should be “I participated in the 2018 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus helped perpetuate the dictatorship and deny the nation the chance to end it out of selfish greed. I am contesting in these 2023 elections for the same reason - greed!”
Of course, if you are dumb and stupid and have yet to realise the sheer futility of participating in a flawed election to perpetuate your own suffering you will participate in these elections! Zimbabwe is a failed state because we have a very naive and stupid electorate.
The biggest mistake is for the people to believe the opposition can plug all the loopholes to stop Zanu PF rigging and using violence without implementing reforms. Worse still, to hang on to this belief even after 43 years of the Zanu PF mafiosi rigging the elections is insane! But then Zimbabwe is a failed state precisely because we have many insane citizens and they have the vote. And as long as this remains so, this nation is going nowhere!

ReplyDelete"Good morning Mr Mukori . Zanu pf , MDC ,, CCC same whatsaap group . We need a new movement with a new blood after the elections bcz nothing is going to change "
What we need above all else is an electorate that is able to think and cast off this mentality that leaders are infallible demigods who should not be asked much less held to democratic account by mere mortals like you and me. As long as we have people who are so ignorant that even now with the benefit of hindsight they still fail to see the sheer futility of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy; this nation will never get out of this mess. Never!
If the West imposed the sanctions because Zimbabwe failed to hold free and fair elections, why would the sanctions be lifted even if Chamisa won these 2023 elections. No one in his or her right mind can judge these elections as free, fair and credible. Elections are judge on the process and not on result and work backwards. If Chamisa won then he will have to implement the reforms and hold free and fair elections to prove Zimbabwe has indeed moved on.
ReplyDeleteBillboard Reading; The modern slaves are not in chains. They are in debt.

It was for the MPs, senators, ministers, deputy PM or PM, anyone of them to submit ZEC reform proposals, for example. Parliament would then debate the proposal add and amend and then send the proposed reforms to Mugabe to sign so the reforms can be implemented. MDC leaders failed to submit even one reform proposal in five years of the GNU. THey had their snouts in the feeding trough and they forgot about the reforms. They could not think with their mouths full!
ReplyDelete@ Mahupete
ReplyDelete“Am on about the 'now' since you are still advocating for 'non participation' NOW.”
Well the MDC leaders who failed to implement even one reform during the GNU are still in the opposition today, why do you think they would implement reforms now when they did not do so when they had all the trump cards?
They have told you they are participating in these flawed elections because they are after the few gravy train seats and/or POLAD freebies. You are refusing to believe them or your own eyes!

Chamisa was the presidential candidate of MDC A in the 2018 elections and was the complainant in the Constitutional Court challenge of the presidential results. So what is wrong with mentioning his name?
You are just one of those idiots who believe Chamisa is a demigod whose name can only be mentioned in praise and adoration and anything else is a no. You cannot bear to hear him questioned much less held to democratic account.
Chamisa is a mere mortal, a public figure holding/aspiring to hold public office and therefore, per se, democratically accountable to the public, including ordinary mortals like me. I consider it my public duty to hold him and all public office bearers to democratic account and I will not take kindly to so village idiot telling me otherwise!

Window dressing vanhu vakadziya moto we mbavha is not on. The interesting admission from you, not for the first time, is that the generality of maZimba electorate are naive and stupid. Granted, so what then is your proffered solution to wake them from this stupor? They are going to vote as a way of exercising their wish as a majority, so why engage in this futile endeavor of sustained criticism?? Where does it end? How can we assist you in waking them up to YOUR reality??”
You lack the intellectual capacity to sustain your arguments! Biti and Coltart have said these elections are so flawed the result, Zanu PF victory, is predetermine and participating only serves to give Zanu PF legitimacy. This is exactly what has happened in 2013 and 2018 and is certain to happen this year. The evidence on the ground speaks for itself. So what are you wittering about “sanitising these two dubious characters”!
So if elections are rigged are the people still exercising their right participating in flawed elections? The people have a right to free, fair and credible elections not rigged elections; you nincompoop!
This is just rubbish, a variation to the #GodIsInIt!
ReplyDeleteIs it not written “Thy shall not put the Lord, thy God, to the test!”
Participating in a flawed election process; so flawed and illegal there is no verified voters’ roll, voters are frogmarched to vote for Zanu PF, etc., etc.; is insane, especially after 43 years of the Zanu PF mafiosi rigging the elections.
Chamisa and company have failed to implement even one reform when they hd the golden opportunity to do so during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. It is clear CCC are not even going to have election agents at many of the Polling Station, so Zanu PF can use these to fine tune the winning margin for their candidate. For Pete’s sake!
And yet still we hear of someone praying for a miracle, CCC landslide victory! If this is not putting the Lord your God to the ultimate test, I don’t know what is!
MDC A lost the 2018 elections, was that because God was not it it, as Chamisa had claimed. It really beggars belief that mankind should evoke the name of the Lord to cover for his own stupidity! God is NOT in this insanity of participating in flawed elections expecting a miracle!
Zimbabwe is a failed state because of our own stupidity and we will not get out of this mess until we finally learn to use our heads for a change!
@ Washvvone
ReplyDelete“Is it that easy? I doubt. Where are you getting these. I remember at one time Tsvangirai wanted to pull out of the GNU because of lack of reforms but was persuaded by Sadc to remain in the GNU.”
The only time Tsvangirai stopped attending cabinet meeting in protest during the GNU was when Mugabe would not allow him to move into Zimbabwe House. Mugabe bought Tsvangirai the US$4 million Highlands mansion and Tsvangirai never ever protested about anything much less reforms. Get your facts right!

Zimbabwe is a failed state because it is led by buffoons who have no clue how to govern all they care about is that they must enjoy absolute power and all the benefits that flow from it. The nation has had many golden opportunities to remove the buffoons from power but have wasted them all. Our problem is not just the buffoon leaders but the thick, shallow and slow populous who are keeping the buffoon in power because of their stupidity.
After 43 years of rigged elections, you would think the penny has finally dropped on the sheer futility of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. It has not dropped!
Indeed, the increasing abject poverty, the consequences of the failed state, has many in panic mode; the shutters in their brains are closed shut, you cannot reason with them. Everything is drivel, drivel; that is all they hear!

ReplyDelete“Chamisa is leader of CCC and they have tabled Party Blue Print.Ko isisu taita chii besides breathing fire and insulting. If the truth is to be told...vanhu vadhakwa nezvima insults.”
What the nation is actually sick and tired of is being promised change and then nothing happens. What some of us have offered the people is an explanation why there was no change in the past and, more significantly, why there will be no change this time either.
There are those who are always looking for someone else to blame for their failures. Instead of acknowledging CCC winning in rigged elections strategies were all hot air and they were very foolish to run with it; they are gearing to blame others the strategies failed. They would have worked if we all supported the idiotic ideas, they would argue!
Indeed the blaming game has already kicked off in some quarters! “Chamisa tabled the Blue Print manifesto!” So you think the manifesto will make for for the price the nation will pay for being dragged into yet another flawed election to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuate the dictatorship and the failed state for another five more years! Fcuk me!
CCC leaders sold out by failing to implement reforms and are selling out by participating in these flawed elections out of greed. They will be held to democratic account. If you want to defend them then you too will be reminded once again that you are a village idiot defending the indefensible!
No wonder Zimbabwe is a failed state, we really have some village idiots amongst us!

ReplyDelete“We may do as many reforms as we can to produce a voluminous constitution with pages as thick as from seabed to the high heavens - but that will not deter the calibre of leaders we have from seeking circumvention to do things their own ways.
Let’s look at the USA case - if Trump and Pence had been of the same mind - their constitution would have been breached.
Our problem is the military minded leaders we have whose actions are not constrained by legality morality or even prudence and economics.”
Let me guess, and this is why MDC failed to implement even one reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU!
So if the army cannot be rein in by the law, what will rein them in?
