CCC is participating in 2023, 'so flawed only logical step was withdraw', out of greed and therefore must stop these crocodile tears. W Mukori

“Chamisa shares doubts about Zimbabwe elections!” screamed the headlines in Bulawayo 24.

This is just nonsense, he knew without reforms Zanu PF would rig these elections, God knows how many times he has been warned against the folly of participating in these flawed elections. So what is he complaining about!

Chamisa is a 45 years old adult who continues to behaving like the spoilt brat who think he can have his cake and eat it too!

Chamisa and company had the golden opportunity during the 2008 to 2013 GNU to implement the democratic reforms designed to stop the curse of Zanu PF rigging elections. They failed to implement even one reform because they were cocksure they would win the elections regardless the Zanu PF cheating and violence.

The EU 2018 Election Observer Team report condemned these elections as "not to international standards." The report listed 23 reform recommendations to bring Zimbabwe elections to acceptable standard. This was a chance for Zimbabwe to finally deal with the recurring nightmare of rigged elections and wanton violence.

Instead of Chamisa and company finally seizing this opportunity and redeem themselves for their blatant betrayal during the GNU; they completely ignored the EU’s report and reform recommendations. They were once again off at a tangent; they would participate in next elections with no reforms implemented because the party had devised Winning In Rigged Elections (WIRE) strategies. All hot air, of course.

The flagship WIRE strategy was “mass voter registration, mass voting and guard the vote!” the party announce in 2018. The party would register 6 million new voters, mainly from the youths, the nation was told.

Last year ZEC announced that as of 30 May 2022 the commission had registered only 250 000 new voters in the last four year country wide. Even if one assume that all the new voter registrants were CCC supporters, this constituted 4% of the party’s set target of 6 million. And so the talked about flagship WIRE strategy of “mass voter registration, mass voting and guard the vote!” was dead in the water!

Operation green mangoes was another one of CCC’s WIRE strategies. To counter the problem of voter intimidation by Zanu PF operatives, CCC supporters were encouraged to join Zanu PF and play along. On voting day they will vote for CCC. And hence the green mango, which is green outside, the party colours of Zanu PF, and yellow inside, the party colours of CCC.

Zanu PF has reactivated its party cells and is keeping a attendance register. Indeed operation green mangoes was launched in response to Zanu PF move because the pressure to join the cell was unbearable. People remember the wanton violence of 2008 when Zanu PF punished the people for rejecting the party, especially in the rural areas where the party rules the roost.

“Your vote is your secret!” CCC leaders tried to reassure its supporters. Once again, this is just nonsense!

Zanu PF has abolished the constituency voters’ roll where voters could cast their vote in any of the polling stations in the constituency and introduced a polling station voters’ roll. The party has increased the number of polling stations from 10 or so in 2008 to over 60 this year, reducing the number of voters at each polling station to a manageable 500 or so.

Zanu PF operatives have the voters’ roll of their respective polling station, they will know everyone on the roll by face if not by name. They have been instructed to frogmarch their own Zanu PF cell members to go and vote. A voting register of all who voted will be kept. Remember to votes of each polling station are counted at that polling station and not mixed at some counting centre. Within a matter of minutes of the Zanu PF operatives would have figured out voted for the opposition with unerring certainty.

“Chisinga zikamwi rufu! Avhota anozikamwa kuti abvakupi, avhotera ani!” (We don’t know where death has come from! As for the voters, we will know where you came from and how you voted!) Mnangagwa himself is heard, loud as church bells, boasting in an audio.

Indeed, our 45 year old brat, knows that Zanu PF is indeed rigging these elections, he knows that these WIRE strategies are hot air to con the ordinary people into participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy.

Chamisa and his CCC friends would have implemented the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU if they cared about free, fair and credible elections and ending the curse of rigged and bad governance. They did not implement even one token reform because they did not care about reforms, etc., etc.

They have all but given up on reforms and settled for a share of the spoils of power from Zanu PF, their reward for conning the Zimbabweans into participating in these flawed election to give Zanu PF legitimacy. You do not believe me? Well here are two of the country’s leading opposition intellectuals saying the same thing.

“Look, you can't keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections. So it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimising these sham elections which don't deliver. This country will go through a serious economic crisis in 2020 caused by Zanu PF. And yet, this is the only country where a government doesn't perform, it is encouraged by a super majority in parliament,” said Tendai Biti in a 2015 interview with Isaac Mugabi.

“So you can't continue subjecting Zimbabweans to processes where their hopes just get crushed.”

Tendai Biti changed his mind and participated in the 2018 and is participating in these 2023 elections against his only advice. He has never, as far as I know, ever explained why he changed his mind.

David Coltart too has admitted of the sheer futility of participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship. He has gone one step further and given the reason why the opposition has been hell bent on participating regardless of the certainty this would only perpetuate the failed state and tragic human suffering that has brought.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Chamisa et al have been participating in these flawed elections, “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was (is) to withdraw,” out of greed. G R E E D, GREED!

“It has not been an easy campaign season for the underfunded Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC), but still, the party drew huge crowds that mostly made their way to the rally without free transport,” continue the report in Bulawayo 24.

“In a direct message to Mnangagwa over the barring of CCC candidates in Bulawayo and a series of other lawfare moves, Chamisa said at the end that ‘God has the final say’".

The ordinary Zimbabweans are desperate for change to end the failed state and their suffering. Desperate people do desperate things and what could be more desperate than participating in flawed elections to perpetuate one’s own suffering on basis of Chamisa’s frivolous WIRE strategies even after 43 years of rigged elections.

They need to wake up to the reality that CCC is running with the povo hare and hunting with the Zanu PF hounds. The people’s failure to realise the primary purpose of the GNU, even now with the benefit of hindsight, is the root cause of their continue blind loyalty to MDC/CCC, their greatest weakness and undoing.

God is certainly not in Chamisa and company’s decision to participate in these flawed elections. Since when has God been a part to man’s foolishness and greed!

“Yesterday [31st July 2023], Zanu-PF members in Chivi Central attacked Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC] aspiring ward 18 councillor, Mr Wilson Runopamwa.”

If the candidates are been bullied and forced to abandon their posts what more the elections agents who are supposed to guard the vote! Every one of Chamisa’s “mass voter registration, mass voting and now guard the vote” have already failed litmus test! Zanu PF is rigging these elections and CCC are participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy for 30 pieces of silver.

  2. This is a fallacious argument to justify participating. All the other 21 contestants in 2018 got 4% of the vote and so the boycott of MDCA would have been noted!

  3. The most consist narrative from Chamisa and his cult is that Zimbabwe does not need to implement any democratic reforms, CCC is winning 2023, because they have devised winning in rigged elections (WIRE) strategies.

The party continues to dismiss the evidence on the ground suggesting Zanu PF is rigging and winning these elections.

What do you see? Just remember that those who can see the rigging and say nothing now will be assumed to have approved the process. Silence is consent, a common maxim!

  4. BE WARNED

Julius Malema will stop supporting Zimbabweans in SA against xenophobia attacks from 24 August 2023 especially if Zanu PF rig and win the elections. He will blame them for not gong back home and vote Zanu PF out of office.

What does a demagogue like Juju know about rigged elections?

  5. Zanu PF has such carte blanche powers to rig these elections it is not the electorate who decide who is the winner but the party. CCC know this and are participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and in return get a few gravy train seats. Why it has taken Zimbabweans all these last 43 years to wake up to the realty they are being conned beggars belief!

  6. MDC leaders failed to implement even one token reform in FIVE YEARS for Pete's sake. Why? There is no denying we are talking about individuals who are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. It is rich for some one like that to be writing books on leadership.

  7. Zanu PF is rigging these elections Chamisa and company know it but will not admit it. Come 24 August, they will start complaining that Zanu PF rigged the elections and shedding buckets of crocodile tears.

I will say it again CCC are participating in these elections out of greed, Chamisa is eyeing the post of Leader of Opposition which will come with a seat in parliament plus the ministerial limo, housing allowance, etc., etc. He refused it last time but will not do so this time. His reward for participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy.

Have explained to you how Zanu PF has rigged elections, gave you the site address where you can read the 2018 EU Observer Mission report. If you still do not know how elections are rigged then it must be because you will do not want to know.

“What do you expect CCC to do and why are people not talking about other parties that are not complaining like MDC, UZA, etc.”

CCC are participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. This is a well documented fact and only these who are naive and/or stupid will deny it.
In the article, I have quoted Tendai Biti and David Coltart, admitting the same thing.

So, having established that CCC leaders are participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the failed state out of greed. Before I answer your question: “Why do you expect CCC to do?”

What would you say to some who ask you: “What should I do?” When you have just told them the river he/she is planning to swim in is infested with crocodile. If you were me, I would look the person in the eye and say nothing but think to myself: “What a village idiot!”

    I will not answer you!

Of course, MDC, UZA, etc. are will participating in these flawed elections out of greed. What is your argument? That it is OK for CCC to sell out because they are not the only ones selling out? (Another look in the eyes and a loaded silence!)

  10. The EU report was very clear Zimbabwe's 2018 elections DID NOT meet the international accepted standards for free, fair and credible elections and explained why they had arrived at that conclusion. What are you arguing about? That having a transparent, verifiable and traceable election process is not important for free and fair elections?

“Will Africa ever stand on her own two feet, or she is determined to forever be under the control of one global power or the other?

In the recent history of our continent, it would appear we are always eager to be subservient to either the West or the East.

This can either be in the form of the ruling establishment or the opposition - usually serving opposite sides of the global hegemonic spectrum.

Why do we not seem interested at all in becoming a global power in our own right?”

We have been easy to dominate and exploit because we have failed to rule ourselves. After 43 years of independence, in this day and age, we are still failing to hold free and fair elections. Many out there have no clue what constitutes free and fair elections, even those aspiring to be leaders have no clue.

Forget Mnangagwa, he and his Zanu PF cronies are corrupt, incompetent and murderous thugs whose only wish is to stay in power at all cost. They are beyond the pale. It is no exaggeration that Chamisa et al are now a curse to the nation. They not only sold out by failing to end the Zanu PF dictatorship but are participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy.

USA ambassador to Zimbabwe, Chris Dell, said Tsvangirai was an indecisive character who would become an albatross round the nation’s neck if he ever got into power. He could have said the same about the MDC/CCC leaders. He was right, they are now a milestone dragging the nation into the crashing abyss.

Man is a creature of reason, those who have valued reason, law, truth, facts and, above all else, the willingness to learn and adapt have prospered. And those who have allowed their brain to ossify into fat through mental inactivity have lagged behind. Whilst the rest of the world has moved from information age, to space age and now AI we in Africa have slip back into the stone age!

“Global powers in our own right!” Yeah right!

  12. FORMER Deputy Prime Minister Arthur Mutambara has applauded Nelson Chamisa and his Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party for standing up against President Emmerson Mnangagwa despite facing several challenges instigated by the Zanu-PF leader.

Mutambara also bemoaned the continued suppression of the opposition by the ruling Zanu-PF party as political temperatures continue to rise ahead of the August 23 harmonised elections.

Speaking in an interview with Alpha Media Holdings chairman, Trevor Ncube on the platform In Conversation with Trevor, Mutambara noted that Zimbabwe still faced the problem of an uneven playing field in the coming election.”

The primary task of the 2008 to 2013 GNU was to implement the democratic reforms, some one should ask Mutambara how many reforms he and his MDC friends implemented in FIVE years!!!!!

MDC leaders failed to implement even one token reform in FIVE YEARS for Pete's sake. Why? There is no denying we are talking about individuals who are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. It is rich for some one like that to be writing books on leadership.

  13. Nonsense! MDC/CCC were elected on the promise to deliver democratic change, they must account for failing to delivery even one reform! It is nonsense that CCC leaders are untouchable. If these guys did not want to held to account then they should have never held public office.

You do not want Chamisa held to account and hence why you keep come up with all these idiotic suggestions. This is your version of "Four legs good! Two legs bad1" I will never be silence by a howling monkey! Never!

  14. Addressing multitudes of supporters recently, Chamisa said support for Mnangagwa in Zanu-PF has waned.

"This is no longer a party-aligned issue. In fact it is Mnangagwa who is not wanted in Zanu-PF. His MPs tell me that they will do a ‘bhora musango'. I said yes I'm bhora musango. They say his rule has benefitted his family. They say he is now rewarding some who are not from the party. That is why he has structures such as FAZ because he does not believe in us," said Chamisa.

Is CCC insisting on participating in flawed elections, so flawed we do not even have a verified voters' roll, rural voters are frogmarched to vote for Zanu PF, etc. because Chamisa is counting on bhora musango! What if it fails?

The sheer stupidity of the opposition is now Zimbabwe's number one nightmare, worse that the Zanu PF dictatorship itself since they are the ones now keeping the regime in power!

“Ur mkonori peanotuka vanhu kuti monkey hautauri makadin nhai vanhu imi moda kuona zvakaipa mumaziso edu chete handiti.”

In a heathy and functioning democracy all those who hold public office MUST be accountable to the people. The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect the opposition for the principle purpose of implementing the reforms and end the obnoxious Zanu PF dictatorship. After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU it is utterly relevant that the opposition should be held to account why they have failed to implement even one token reform.

We have some individuals in this group who don’t want the opposition leaders questioned much less held to account. Of course they know the opposition leaders sold out and hence the more reason they want the subject and discuss quashed. They tactic is to howl nonsensical questions, insults, anything to drown out the questioning and stile debate.

If we are ever going to hold the opposition leaders to democratic account we must get past the howling monkeys who are stifling debate. They insist that they have the right to howl, of course they have, they can howl all they want all day and all night. What they cannot do is howl to stifle debate and democratic discourse. Do that and they will be send back to the Amazon forest were they belong!

All those who hold public office be they ruling party or the multiple opposition parties must and will be held democratic account. And the howler monkeys who are stifling debate and guarding the MDC/CCC leaders must and will be put in their monkey place!

Rural folk are being frogmarched to vote for Zanu PF and you continue wittering about free elections!

You and your CCC friends know that Zanu PF is rigging these elections and that your participating will only give the regime legitimacy. You continue to do it out of greed. The same reason you failed to implement even one reform during the GNU!

You have your beady eyes on one of the senatorial seats in Masvingo and will participate in these elections no matter what! Just space us the idiotic nonsense!

  17. JUST IN: The Supreme Court has set aside the High Court's decision to bar 12 Bulawayo CCCs
    candidates from contesting.

The HC judgement was foolish and it would have been real insane for the SC to do anything else but to over rule it. I know Mnangagwa is stupid, he shot himself in the foot by allowing the fooling HC judgement because it has created utter chaos, the ballot papers are way behind schedule for one thing. But even he is not THAT stupid to shoot himself in the head, which is what he would have done if the SC had up held the HC’s judgement.

Of course, the chaotic state of the election process is no surprise given Zimbabwe is a failed state. Still, are we really this corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless we cannot even hold free, fair and credible election to the point of failing to produce a verified voters’ roll, cannot produce ballot papers on time, etc.

Zanu PF's greatest con trick was to convinced MDC leaders during the GNU that they (MDC) were so popular they would win the elections with not even one democratic reform implemented. It was an easy trick to pull off give that most of the MDC leaders and the wildebeest supporters had no clue what the reforms were much less how they were to be implemented.

Indeed, many still have no clue what the reforms are even today with the benefit of hindsight. And hence the reason why MDC/CCC leaders and the herd have taken to winning in rigged elections like a duck to water. Even after 43 years of rigged elections, they still continue to believe one day the opposition have winning in rigged elections strategies and will win big!

It has become the article of faith with the wildebeest herd, faith is seated in the great deep recess that reason and logic cannot reach!

  19. CITIZENS Coalition for Change (CCC) vice-president Welshman Ncube has apologised to the electorate for disputes around issues of candidate selection in the party.

He said the Nelson Chamisa-led main opposition party and its supporters needed to work together to remove Zanu-PF from power.

Ncube made the remarks while addressing party supporters at Sidzibe, Insiza cluster rally in Matebeleland South province recently.

The issue of imposing candidates is certainly important but it is trivial compared to the challenge of participating in flawed elections knowing fully well that doing so will only give Zanu PF legitimacy and the opposition leaders are insisting on participation out of selfish greed.

Professor Ncube and company have not only failed to implement ever one token reform in 23 years but worst of all they are now helping to keep Zanu PF in power by conning their naive and gullible supporters into participating in the flawed elections on belief CCC can win rigged elections. Professor Ncube and his CCC friends have never apologised for the treasonous betrayal of the nation but are instead continuing is their treason!

Stop deluding yourself by thinking you are the prime example of one “who cares about the future of the kids and grandchildren”. You are just one of the millions who have ben conned into believing that you can end the Zanu PF dictatorship by participating in flawed elections, that CCC can devise strategies to win rigged elections. The truth is Chamisa has failed to devise such strategies and you know it. CCC want you to participate to hide their greed for participating to win the few gravy train seats.

You have been warned that by participating in these flawed elections, you are only giving Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship. “Iwewe mukori nyaya dzese dzauri kurotomoka dzinei nekufa kwemunhu uyu??? Violence against citizens unoda reform yei...Where is our humanity and respect of life is it because of reforms???”

Was that why MDC/CCC has failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU?
So if reforms have nothing to do with ending the violence and rigging of elections, please tell us how you plan to end these problems?

The trouble is we have village idiots who have no clue what the reforms are much less how they are to be implemented. The VI were elected on a ticket to implement the reforms to deliver democratic changes but once in power they have sought to enrich themselves. You ask them about the reforms and why not even one reform has been implemented and they pretend to be deaf and dumb. Their fanatical supporters step in to silence critics because they too have no clue what the reforms are.

The rigged elections and wanton violence will never end with first implementing the democratic reforms. Some of the more savvy leaders like Tendai Biti and David Coltart know this is true.

I don’t think leaders like Chamisa and supporters like you Walter will ever have a clue what reforms are; your brains have ossified into fat and is now impermeable to reason and logic!

If these elections are about anything then it must be about the restoration of the law and rule of law. Thugs like Kasukuwere are only after a chance to get back into power so he can continue the oppression and looting from where he left off when he was booted out in the 2017 military coup.

“Boycotting the elections won’t change the price of butter. There are still enough small parties to legitimise any election. Remember how tiny Zum was as a party before the formation of MDC? Zanu still held those elections and legitimised them. Hell Zanu can even create ka party to run against itself and call the elections “free and fair” legitimising them.”

The Zanu PF of 1980 to 2008 is totally different from the Zanu PF of post 2008. Robert Mugabe thought he and Zanu PF would get away with the blatant cheating and wanton violence of 2008. He was shocked when both SADC and AU refused to endorse the rigged 2008 elections and force Zanu PF to accept not only the GNU power sharing arrangement but, worse of all, the need for the GNU to implement democratic reforms to dismantle the de facto one party dictatorship.

Unfortunately for Zimbabwe Morgan Tsvangirai, his MDC friends and the wildebeest herd of supporters turned out of the so corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless not eve one token reform was implemented. Most of them failed to realise that the primary purpose of the GNU was to implement the reforms.Indeed many still do know that and hence their fanatical and idiotic believe the opposition can win rigged elections.

David Coltart has spelt out why the opposition are participating in these flawed elections - greed. It is the same reason they failed to implement even one reform during the GNU.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. Very few have understood what Coltart said not because it is rocket science; it is simple but even the simple are a complete mystery to the simpletons. It is sad that the 4 m were haunted out of the country, denied meaningful vote and a voice by Zanu PF thugs. For 43 years and counting we have fought Zanu PF thugs for the right to be heard and now we have to fight the Zanu PF thugs and the CCC howler monkeys. Well so be it.

MDC/CCC were elected to deliver democratic changes, as the original party name implied. 23 years later, 5 of which in the GNU they have not only failed to implement even one reform but worst of all they are now keeping Zanu PF in power by participating in flawed elections out of greed. The party leaders and their howler monkeys guarding them must and will be held to account.

The howler monkeys' demands that only those inside Zimbabwe must speak will be dismissed with the contempt it rightly deserve.

  33. The Bulawayo HC judgement barring the 12 was one of the most foolish judgement even a Kangaroo court would be loathed to dish out. It is interesting to note that you Dr Mavaza defended the judgement.

So now you have flip flopped and support the Supreme Court's decision to over rule the HC.

Of course, Zimbabwe's judiciary is captured, all the magistrate and judges received a US$ 400 000 bribe on the 6 June 2023 in line with the bribes other state institution officials have received. But even a captured judiciary could not uphold a particularly obnoxious judgement especially when it backfired badly. No one other that a Zanu PF apologist like you Mavaza would take the SC's judgement as proof the judiciary is not captured!

“The Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC] members in Chivi Central were severely attacked by Zanu PF members on 31st July 2023.

The Zanu PF members were armed with AK guns, logs, among other dangerous weapons, according to the victims.

Chivi Central Ward 18 CCC aspiring councillor, Mr. Wilson Runopamwa, has reported the case against Zanu-PF members to the police, but the police are yet to arrest the perpetrators.”

And you still believe Chamisa's winning in rigged elections are working? How naive, stupid and reckless with other people's lives can one be? These elections should not be happening without first implementing the reforms. The EU produced 23 reform recommendations in their 2018 election report and so CCC cannot say they did not know what reforms were needed.

Chamisa and company are hell bent on participating in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. And it is not as if they don't know what they are doing!

How long are we going to allow the ordinary Zimbabweans at the coal face of this failed state tragedy to suffer? Of course, povo do not know that CCC have sold out, they are hunting with Zanu PF hounds whilst running with the povo hare!

  35. The EU produced a detailed report on the 2018 elections and made 23 recommendation to ensure future elections meet the internationally accepted standards. Neither Zanu PF nor CCC has paid any attention to the reforms because these 2023 elections are going ahead without reforms. Indeed CCC leaders are the ones insisting on the elections going ahead because they have winning in rigged elections strategies.

If it was up to the EU Observers, they would call of these elections right now because it is already clear the are not free, fair and credible. But they will not dare because it is not they call. If Zimbabweans themselves accept this madness as normal, who are they to object!

SADC leaders tried to have the 2013 elections postpone and both Zanu PF and MDC leaders ignore the advice. They thrown in the towel in despair.

Chamisa and company are hell bent on participating in these flawed elections out of greed. Zanu PF knows this and so the violence will continue.

  36. @ T Mapfumo

One of worst things to befall Zimbabwe is that many have been brained washed into giving up the fight for democratic reform and free, fair and credible elections on the mistaken belief they can win rigged elections. Even after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections, some people still continue to believe they opposition can win rigged elections!

What these people have failed to realise is that there is a lot more to elections than casting a ballot. The whole election process must be free, fair and credible. Zanu PF is rigging these elections making a mockery of the whole process and hence the need for implementing the democratic reforms before elections.

Who needs reforms if you have been brainwashed into believing you can win rigged elections!

We traded our right to free and fair elections for the frivolous winning in rigged elections; we have given up gold for fool's gold!

“Gore rino tinopedzerana! Chauya chauya vakomana!” Yeah right! When you are the one insisting on participating in flawed elections, so flawed and illegal that winning 73% was not good enough to get Tsvangirai into State House!

    ReplyDelete
  37. @ Evangelist

So you think if Chamisa was to win Zimbabwe would become a healthy and functioning democracy and everyone will live happily ever after? How naive!

If Chamisa won these chaotic elections he would only be too keen to appease the many Zanu PF operatives who would have helped him win and without they backing he would never get the keys to State House. Chamisa has already made it clear that those in the security services, for example, will keep all their looted wealth and perks. In other words the corruption will continue.
Chamisa has said he would revive the economy. Nonsense. Investors are a shrewd lot, they can see the chaos in Zimbabwe and know that CCC will never stop it. They will have to wait for the next elections, at least, to see if the country can finally hold free, fair and credible elections.

Chamisa has already proven that he is corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent, he is blundering from pillar to post, and only the naive and gullible continue to follow him blindly like sheep to the slaughter.

Zimbabwe is a failed state because Zanu PF is a party of corrupt and murderous thugs and the opposition is full of corrupt and utterly useless sell outs. Zimbabwe needs to implement the democratic reforms and drain the sewage pond only then can we have quality leaders, fish.

  38. @ Bachipeneti

So CCC is participating in flawed elections, so flawed they know they will not win and that participating will give legitimacy to Zanu and thus perpetuate the failed state. The must participate regardless because there are other 11 opposition parties who will participate, according to you. Has it ever occurred to you that is precisely why Zanu PF is giving away these gravy train seats and the POLAD freebies?

    ReplyDelete
  39. @ Armas

The position of whether or not to participate in these elections were spelt out in David Coltart's book. We cannot continue to beat about the bush pretending we do not know CCC are participating out of greed.

The trouble with some people is they do not want to face the facts and would bury their heads in the sand in the hope the situation will change. The reality is the nation has sunk deeper and deeper into the abyss.

Chamisa and company are participating in these flawed elections out of greed, that is the reality. What are you going to do about it, that is the question you, me and every Zimbabwean out there must answer.

    ReplyDelete
  40. @ Bachipeneti

You have been participating in flawed elections for 43 years and counting and Zanu PF has rigged the process every time. A more rational being would say "Lets implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!" This is exactly what SADC asked the 2008 to 2013 GNU to do. The EU came up with the same solution in their 2018 election report when they made the 23 reform recommendations. Both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC have ignored the implement reform BEFORE elections. Why?

Robert Mugabe brainwashed Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends during the GNU into believing they are so popular they will win the elections without the need to implement even one token reform. To be absolutely certain MDC leaders swallowed the oxymoronic advice, Mugabe sugar coated it with the bribe of the trappings of high office; the ministerial limos, generous salaries and allowances, US$4 million mansion for Tsvangirai, etc.

MDC leaders forgot about the reforms, the world looks different viewed through the rose tinted glass from the comfort of air-conditioned limo.

Of course the CCC leaders are participating in these elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.

You, Bachipeneti, are a nobody pontificating the nonsense about how CCC must participate because there are other 11 parties participating. In other words CCC leaders are participating out of greed, they are fighting for the gravy train seats and/or the POLAD freebies. You admit it in one breath and then deny it is not greed in the next! It is greed.

As for the rest of the ordinary Zimbabweans participating in the flawed elections you are playing your part in giving Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating the failed state. Of course, it is insane! The very least you can do is refuse to participate but better still you can denounce the flawed elections and CCC sell outs. Denounce them now and not after 24 August when it will be too late!

Bachipeneti idofo rozvaro rinongo hwahwa risina zvarino ziva! You cannot reason with a nincompoop! Even after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging the elections he still believe CCC can win rigged elections!

It is nice to be a hypocrite with no sense of shame! Mavaza defended the High Court Judge’s stupid decision to bar the 12 CCC candidates. It was such a foolish judgement Zanu PF itself was going to lose 56 candidates if the Supreme Court had upheld the foolish HC judgement. In an effort to shoot CCC in the foot Zanu PF was going to shoot itself in the head! Mnangagwa is stupid but not that stupid.

It is laughable that Mavaza now wants to sell the SC decision as proof the judiciary is not captured. What a truck load of bull! What matters here is that this is not the end of the politically motivated violence and, worse still, he is not the last victim to be murdered. Until we implement the democratic reforms designed to free the Police and other State institution to carry out their set duties of keeping law and order the culture of rigged elections and wanton violence will remain.

MDC LEADERS HAD THE GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY TO IMPLEMENT THE DEMOCRATIC REFORMS TO END THIS CURSE OF RIGGED ELECTIONS AND WANTON VIOLENCE DURING THE 2008 TO 2013 GNU AND THEY WASTED IT. CCC ARE PARTICIPATING IN THESE FLAWED ELECTIONS TO GIVE ZANU PF LEGITIMACY OUT OF GREED.

THE QUESTION THAT WE MUST NOW ASK OURSELVES IS: HOW LONG ARE WE GOING TO ALLOW THIS MADNESS TO CONTINUE?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Well the demagogue has finally got the message: Zanu PF is rigging these elections and this is the number one problem we must deal with. We must implement the democratic reforms and stop Zanu PF rigging the elections.

Allowing the elections to go ahead with no reforms is a futile exercise.

Greed got the better of Biti and his MDC/CCC friends and hence the reasons they have been participating in these flawed elections.

The question is: why is Juju sponsoring 500 buses for Zimbabweans "to go back home and vote" in a process he admits has been rigged before even the first ballot is cast?

The biggest favour Juju can do the people of Zimbabwe today is to make sure SADC does not rubber stamp the rigged elections and grant Zanu PF legitimacy! Forget about the 500 buses, encouraging people to participate in these flawed elections will only give SADC the excuse to grant Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship.

“The irony of you saying that. How many times have you repeated your reforms mantra expecting people to boycott but alas no one listens to you. So who is insane? You or the audience? Someone is repeating the same thing over and over expecting different results his name is Wilbert Mukori so he must be insane. Is it a fair analysis?”

I have repeated warned that Zanu PF is rigging these elections and we do not need to wait for 24 August 2023 to see this is true. True the people have ignored the warning and are ignoring the mountain of evidence that elections are being rigged. I am considered insane for repeating the warning that many have ignored.

We can be certain of one thing, the penny will drop on the 24 August because these people will be complaining that the elections were rigged - the very thing I have been warning them would happen. Let see who will be considered insane then?

Zanu PF has rigged elections for the last 43 years, for Pete’s sake. It should not be rocket science to realise that these elections are a farce. SADC helped to set up the 2008 to 2013 GNU whose primary task was to implement reforms and Zimbabweans, their infantile wisdom ignored the regional body. More recently EU listed 23 reform recommendations after the 2018 elections. Not even one of the reforms have seen the light and Chamisa et al are the ones leading from the front insisting on elections without reforms because they have devised winning in rigged elections strategies.

If MDC/CCC leaders, and where the leaders go the wildebeest herd follows no questions asked, have ignored the advice of SADC, EU, Americans and many, many others on the folly of participating in these flawed elections; it would be naive for me to think Chamisa and company will listen to me. I have repeated the warning because it is true whether people listen or not it is still true.

Repeating the truth and standing for what you know is right does not make one insane. It is a measure of the strength of one’s character. Those who go with the crowd regardless how idiotic that might be are showing just how feeble minded they are - curse for Zimbabwe as we can see.

It is sad that we are arguing about rigged elections, something we should have settled by now after 43 years of rigged elections one would think we have finally learned the lesson. And yet here we are we are being led by men like Chamisa who continue to promise winning rigged elections and we are foolish enough to believe the hot air!

The key question now is: Are Zimbabweans capable of self governing or we are beyond the pale?

If we cannot learn what constitute free, fair and credible elections in 43 years, in this day and age, we might have gone beyond the point of no return and are beyond saving. SADC have certainly given up on us and has been granting Zanu PF political legitimacy since 2013 out of despair!

The evidence on the ground already says that Zimbabwe is incapable of holding free, fair and credible elections and you your arguing to the contrary only serves to underline you do not know what constitutes free, fair and credible elections!

If you think there will be a flood of investors if Chamisa wins, think again. By failing to hold free and fair elections Zimbabwe has just confirm we are still a pariah state that cannot hold free elections. We are not out of the wood and worse still clearly do know how to get out!

Don't just sit and criticise players when you are doing nothing.”
Man is supposed to be a creature of reason but not so in Zimbabwe given we have blundered from pillar to post. Sure we are being bombarded with all those boasts of being in the trenches and yet when you ask what democratic changes have you achieved in 23 years there is a deafening silence.

In plan language these political leaders are participating in these elections to perpetuate povo’s suffering out of greed. How anyone can still fail to see this beggars belief.

Since man is a creature of reason, ideas, learning from the past and all those things to do with the mind and thinking it is no surprise that those with the intellect have no problem sharing their ideas on all the available media. There is no shame in being a keyboard warrior, asking questions and holding those in public office to democratic account.

There are many who call themselves political activists when all they are is the braindead wildebeest herd who cannot think for themselves and follow blindly like sheep. It is shocking that many of the herd still don’t know what reforms re much less that they were the primary task of the GNU, even now with the benefit of hindsight. How can they hold MDC/CCC leaders to account for failing to implement reforms when they don’t even know what the reforms are?

Worst of all, the herd deeply recent seeing MDC/CCC leaders questioned on such matters as reforms, the questioning underlines the herd’s own stupidity in not just supporting but grovelling to these corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent leaders.

Of course, it is insane to participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy because you believed the hot air of winning in rigged elections strategies, especially after 43 years of rigged elections. The sting of all that is not felt so cutely by the herd - one of the advantages of being braindead stupidity comes naturally!

“Don't just sit and criticise players when you are doing nothing!” Well this has echoes of Mutsvangwa’s “we liberated the country”! At least Zanu PF members put their lives on the line whereas all these MDC/CCC leaders and their idiotic supporters have ever done is sell out!

What Coltart said is his book that the election process has become so flawed the only rational solution is boycotting; he was stating the obvious. He rightly admitted MDC/CCC leaders are participating out of greed. The position has changed and is not going to change as long as the leaders can count of the wildebeest herd to follow them blindly! If we cannot hold free elections and thus achieve peaceful change we have condemned ourselves to violent change through street protests and/or a military coup. Zimbabwe has seen both and so there will be nothing new there.

Even if CCC was to win these elections the election will still be ruled flawed and illegal because elections are not judged on results but the whole process.

Nonsense! So how did you know I was talking if you were not listening?

If fact, I never asked you or any one to listen or read my comments; the is your prerogative. My prerogative is to post my comments without fear of a howling monkey drowning them out with his howling. I do not drown your comments with howling and demand the same from you.

Your howling noise is no different from Zanu PF thugs tearing down opposition posters today, tomorrow they will escalate that to beating opposition and then stone them to death!

You and your howler monkey friends do not have the right to stop me holding CCC leaders to account for their performance whilst in public office - that is not negotiable.

“With just 17 days remaining until the harmonized elections in Zimbabwe, Bikita East is marred by a disturbing escalation of violence perpetrated by Zanu PF and Forever Associates of Zimbabwe [FAZ] members against CCC members.”

Some of us have warned that without first implementing the reforms the culture of rigging elections and wanton violence will never go away. Chamisa and company claimed that they had winning in rigged elections strategies such as operation green mangoes that will stop the rigging and the violence. This was just hot air to justify why they are hell bent on participating in these flawed elections.

All they want is the few gravy train seats on offer as bait and they do not care the elections are rig and their participating is giving legitimacy to the dictatorship. We really need to end this sell out culture!

How many more people must be harassed beaten and murdered before we finally accept the sheer futility of participating in these flawed elections to give zanu PF legitimacy and earn CCC the 30 pieces of silver?

“Patrick Mapfumo, an aspiring member of parliament from the Chiredzi North representing Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC], has lodged a strong complaint regarding the vandalism of his campaign posters by Zanu PF members. Mapfumo, a prominent businessperson, is set to compete against Zanu PF's aspiring parliamentary candidate, Mr. Master Makopa, a former school head.”

So operation green mangoes was just hot air. If these thugs can intimidate a parliamentary candidate what more the ordinary rural folk. Rural people are being frogmarched to attend Zanu PF cell meetings and will likewise be frogmarched to vote and we continue to pretend this is still aa free, fair and credible election. And we still continue to participate giving Zanu PF legitimacy so CCC can earn their 30 pieces of silver for selling out once again.

“Look, you can't keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections. So it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimizing these sham elections which don't deliver.

Of course, Biti was being honest. He could not stop participating because he could not talk his fellow MDC friends to do the same.

We, the ordinary people, are the suckers here who are being conned into participating in these flawed elections under the pretext the opposition can win rigged elections even after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections. We really need to wake up from our sloth-like slumber. This insanity will last as long as we allow it to continue.

  67. Ignorance is certainly one of the worse curses in Zimbabwe and both Zanu PF and CCC have exploited our people for their selfish purpose. CCC leaders are NOT participating in these flawed elections to liberate the people, get this into your thick head. They know Zanu PF is rigging these elections and they know participating will give Zanu PF legitimacy. Still they participate out of greed.

You don’t want to believe me, well here is what Coltart said.

CCC is one of the many opposition parties fighting for the gravy train seats and/or POLAD freebies. So stop talking of CCC as if they are a cut above all the other sell out opposition parties and they are doing the nation a great service by selling out!

You are just a buffoon whose brain has ossified into fat and therefore impermeable to reason or logic. You still believe in the idiotic winning in rigged elections even after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections!

“ZanuPF Bans Churches In Masvingo Central!!!

ZanuPF has banned churches by decreeing that all villagers must assemble at their polling station for political reorientation .

Traditional leaders have been ordered to frogmarch their subjects to these polling station meetings. Any villager who will be absent is threatened with violence. This has meant that all Sunday church services are cancelled in the whole constituency.

The level of Intimidation in rural areas has reached unprecedented levels. All villagers are to be subjected to a roll call . Village heads are required to give reasons for each absent voter from their respective villages.

The meetings are to lecture voters on how to vote ZanuPF .

Villagers are to be arranged by numbers to which they have to religiously follow on voting day. This is an psychological intimidating strategy.

Today ZanuPF will assign ZanuPF supporters to be responsible as assistant voters to CCC members.Known CCC members to be identified today are to declare unable to write.

Some CCC members today will be instructed to take photos of the ballot they would have voted, in order to show ZanuPF leaders at the polling station at a secret command Centre.

ZanuPF is desperate and aware that voters are angry.

"ZanuPF knows that it will not win a free and fair election. All these primitive ,barbaric and undemocratic intimidation strategies wont work. We are ready to liberate ourselves." said an angel CCC Ward 18 Masvingo Central local government candidate Francis Tazvitya.”

It is pleasing to note that even you, Chitando, now acknowledge that voter intimidation and harassment is a serious problem. You and your CCC minions were warned that without implementing the democratic the rigging and wanton violence would continue. You lot would not listen because all you care about is winning the few gravy train seats on offer as bait.

“Mukori haana solution kana one, chake kushora chete.”

Forget the solutions Mukori has offered, he is a nobody. Chii Mukori Panama yehuku! Let us talk of the real big players.

SADC were the guarantor of the 2008 Global Political Agreement which gave rise to the 2008 to 2013 GNU whose primary purpose was to implement the democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging elections and using wanton violence as happened in 2008. Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends failed to implement even one reform regardless of the nagging to do so from the likes of SA minister Lindiwe Zulu.

When SADC leaders realised that not even one token reform was implemented, they tried to get the 2013 elections postponed. “If you participate in these elections, you will lose. The elections are done!” they warned MDC leaders. Their warning was ignored.

EU send a high powered 246 member 2018 Election Observer Mission. They wrote a detailed report stating the elections were “not to accepted international standards”. They made 23 reform recommendations to bring Zimbabwe elections to acceptable standards. CCC is participating in these elections knowing fully well that not even one of these reforms were implemented. Not one!

So SADC, EU, Americans, Commonwealth and anybody who is anybody have all recommended that we implement reforms BEFORE elections are they have all been ignored. I happened to agree with all these big guns that nothing of substance can ever be achieved without first implementing reforms but am realistic enough to know if MDC/CCC ignored SADC, etc. they will ignore me!

And so let us not talk about the solution Mukori is offering but rather the solution SADC, etc. offered and were give the middle finger!

The number one priority is not more political parties but an enlightened electorate. Even if we were given a healthy and functioning democracy right now; in a free, fair and credible elections I would expect Einstein to lose to Chamisa as long as we still have village idiots for voters who still think the leaders and political parties are more important than thinking voters.

  86. Chamisa, who leads the Citizens Coalition for Change party, called it a choice of “death or ZANU-PF” for some.

“Mnangagwa is clearly triggering a national crisis,” he said during the interview in his 11th-floor office in Zimbabwe’s capital, Harare. “He is driving the country into chaos. He is actually instigating instability. He is violating the law. He is tearing apart institutions of the country.”
On Thursday, a man wearing the yellow colours of Chamisa’s CCC party was beaten and stoned to death on the way to a political rally, police said. The CCC accused ZANU-PF followers of killing him and attacking other opposition supporters.

We have known about all these things ever since the 2008 watershed elections when Zanu PF blatantly cheated and used wanton violence. SADC forced Mugabe and Zanu PF to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement, agreeing to the need for Zimbabwe to implement the democratic reforms designed to end the rigging and violence. Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends had the opportunity to implement the democratic reforms they failed to implement even one reform.

SADC leaders, literally begged MDC leaders not to go into the 2013 elections without reforms and they were ignored.

Chamisa went into the 2018 elections claiming that “MDC A had stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections!” We all knew the time that it was just hot air and events have proven us right.

The EU sent a 246 strong 2018 Election Observer Mission which condemned the elections for failing to meet international standards. The report made 23 reform recommendations. CCC is participating in these 2023 elections knowing fully well that not even one of the reforms was implemented.

Indeed Chamisa has insisted on participating claiming his party has winning in rigged elections strategies. Of course, these are all hot air to hide the real reason for participating - greed.

It is very foolish to airbrush what Mnangagwa did from 1980 to 2017 just because he rebranded calling his administration a Second Republic. He did that for the purpose of putting some distance between himself and the Mugabe days. It will be foolish to fall into that trap because what he did during these years tells you of the man. He was Mugabe’s henchman, corrupt and incompetent and he has continued to be a ruthless henchman, corrupt and incompetent.

GNU “wakawora” precisely because not even one meaningful reform was implemented in five years because all those involved in the GNU were corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent. The same individuals are now in CCC and guess what, they are blundering from pillar to post!

Only fools will buy the nonsense that Chamisa is a new man because he now leads CCC. The same fools will want to airbrush GNU as if there was never such a thing!

  88. As much as I would agree that many of the colonial powers of yesteryears have a lot to answer for I would also like to say we must be careful of the new colonialists like Russia and China. The two played a key role in ending Western colonial rule in Africa but only for them to step in to be the new colonisers.

The role China has played in keeping this Zanu PF dictatorship in Zimbabwe is well documented and beyond dispute. And the role China has played in destroying Zimbabwe's economy by flooding the country with cheap Chinese goods and by spear heading the looting of the country's resources is also well documented.

The Zanu PF thugs are nothing but the Chinese’s puppets as Mugabe quickly learned and their influence is so far reaching they directly or indirectly control key state institutions including the opposition. There will be no regime change in Zimbabwe without the Chinese saying so and, more significantly, securing the strings on the new puppets.

Needless to say both China and Russia are permanent members of the UN Security Council. And needless to add the two do not hold free, fair and credible elections and so do not see the need why their new colonial puppets should hold free and fair elections. Not that Zimbabweans we would miss that since we have never held free and fair elections - right now we are trying to win rigged elections!
