"CCC will win big 2023!" bombardment is relentless. Real challenge, povo must know it's wishful thinking. P Guramatunhu

“2023 IS A YEAR FOR CHANGE. 2023 brings hope, dignity and prosperity.

May this year be the year Zimbabwe becomes free, happy and prosperous. This time Citizens will WIN BIG & celebrate BIG. Be victorious, prosperous & hopeful. This is the year. All will see God’s hand. It’s a Victory year. It’s time for change! Happy & blessed New Year 2023. God bless you!! #RegisterToVoteZw #Godisinit #Kangene #Ngaapinde #Ngaanjile,” President Chamisa wrote on Facebook.

It is tempting to dismiss Chamisa and his CCC friends’ claims that they will win big as wishful thinking.

“Wishful thinking is the formation of beliefs based on what might be pleasing to imagine, rather than on evidence, rationality, or reality. It is a product of resolving conflicts between belief and desire,” according to Wikipedia.

When the wishful thinking involves ignoring the evidence that Zanu PF has been rigging elections for 42 years and counting, ignoring the historic facts that Chamisa and company wasted the golden opportunity to implement the reforms and end the vote rigging and ignoring the fact that these CCC leaders know Zanu PF is rigging the elections and their participation only give Zanu PF legitimacy; it is clear this is a lot more than wishful thinking.

Chamisa and company are selling out the nation and are pretending they are naïve and wishful thinkers. They know exactly what they are doing!

Chamisa and company’s claim of winning these elections for the purpose of luring the naïve, gullible and desperate Zimbabweans into participating in these flawed and illegal elections can be compared to Judas Iscariot’s kiss of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane. There was no affection in that kiss!

Nelson Chamisa has the cheek to evoke God in his betrayal. “God is in it!” How can God be in in this or any of the other MDC/CCC schemes of betrayal to gratify their insatiable greed.

Zimbabwe would not still be stuck with this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF regime if MDC had implemented the democratic reforms. After 22 years, 5 of which in the GNU, Chamisa and company have failed to implement even one reform. And by participating in these flawed elections, they are giving Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuate the dictatorship and the suffering of ordinary people.

The challenge is to educate the ordinary people so they can see with their own eye that CCC’s claim of winning the 2023 elections is not just wishful thinking but a calculated lie to lure them into participating in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate their suffering. Admittedly Zimbabweans are a naïve and gullible lot, the country would not be in this mess otherwise; so, educating them is certainly a challenge but, hopefully, not mission impossible.

Whilst CCC is bombing the nation with its lies of winning the elections the challenge is to count that with the truth – that Zanu PF is rigging these elections and CCC are participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy in return for a few gravy train seats.

History must say every Zimbabwean with half a brain knew that CCC’s claim of winning the 2023 was wishful thinking or, better still, an act of wilful betrayal!

“U always bring an interesting discussion then u spoil it with your obsession of elections. If they are more important then why not campaign for your party to contest and while in the light u start the movement to boycott and see how many will follow your " wisdom ". Its simple. Action is all u need to do and stop this behaviour of making monotonous mourns like a cow trapped in a well.”
The story is about corruption, why it is rampant and what can be done to end it. The only realistic way to remove Zanu PF from office is implementing the reforms to ensure free and fair elections. You hate hearing these two words, reforms and free elections, because they remind you MDC/CCC betrayal. And rightly so too.
I have told you before and will tell again I am concerned with the truth and getting the nation out of the hell-hole we are in. I am not going to waste time talking about some trivial matters just to spare MDC leaders the reality they are sell-outs and you the blushes of being the idiot blindly following them.
Zanu PF is rigging these elections and the billions of dollars from the looters is just one of the many ways the regime is rigging these elections. Chamisa and company are participating in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and for a reward - share of the spoils of power. This message will be hammered home with a sludge hammer. By the time elections are held, even a VI will know the message by heart!

“Save your energy for after the elections!”
It is not my energy you are concerned about but the message and all that sludge hammering is wearing you down. As I told you, by the time of the 2023 elections even the VI will know the message by heart.

“One reason why political parties are created is to contest elections.”

The people of Zimbabwe risked life and limb during the fight for independence because they believe they were fighting for freedom, liberty and human rights and dignity for ALL Zimbabweans. Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs short changed them in 1980 and denied them the freedoms and rights including the right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country and even the right to life.

Zanu PF is not contesting these elections meaning fighting to win the free vote of a free people, it is rigging the elections and falsifying the people’s vote!

The people have once again risked life and limb to elect MDC/CCC leaders into power on the understanding they would implement the reforms and restore the people’s freedoms and rights. Once in power MDC/CCC have sold out on reforms in return for a share of the spoils of power.

MDC/CCC are contesting these flawed elections under the false pretence they will deliver change. They contesting to help Zanu PF stay in power for the sake of a few gravy train seats.

50% of our people are living in abject poverty and the very survival of the nation is at stake sacrificed to gratify the insatiable greed of the few. Only an idiot would fail to see this is insane!

🇿🇼☝🏿🇿🇼 Patriotic Papa JC speaks when things are good for Citizens who want better change in Zimbabwe.”

You were cocksure of landslide victory in 2013 only to complain of Zanu PF rigging when the results came out. You did the same thing in 2018. With not even a token reform in place, Zanu PF is blatantly rigging 2023 and you will complain the elections were rigged the day the result come out!

Cry the beloved Zimbabwe! What have we done to deserve Chitando and his CCC fiends!

Be rest assured Chitando, you and your CCC fiends will lose politically credibility this time because even the VIs will know you knew all along Zanu PF was rigging the elections and participated to give the regime legitimacy for the sake of the few gravy train seats offered as bait! Your name is mud!

  5. SADC leaders begged Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friend not to participate in the 2013 elections without first implementing reforms. “If you take part in the elections next month, you will lose. The elections are done!” they warned, according to Dr Ibbo Mandaza who attended the June 2013 SADC Summit in Maputo.

David Coltart and Tendai Biti are some of the MDC/CCC leaders who have admitted it is not only the folly of participating in these flawed elections but worst of all that participating will give Zanu PF legitimacy. And yet they have still insisted in participating because they are after the few gravy train seats Zanu PF gives away as bait.

“The worst aspect for me about the failure to agree a coalition was that both MDCs couldn’t now do the obvious – withdraw from the (2013) elections,” confessed Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

“The electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility.”

How many more years are we going to allow the whole nation to suffer the consequence of rigged elections and bad governance to gratify the insatiable greed of the few ruling elite of both sides of the political divide? With basic services such as education and health care collapsed and over 50% of our people now living in abject poverty; the very survival of the nation is now at stake!

“Is Guramatunhu confessing chaos within the opposition rank and file 🤔?”

It is not so much chaos in the opposition leadership but greed. They know with no reforms Zanu PF will rig and win these elections. They also know that by participating they are undermining those demanding reforms before elections and giving Zanu PF legitimacy. They are overlooking all these negatives because they are after the few gravy train seats Zanu PF is giving away to entice the opposition to participate no matter how flawed the process got!

  7. Pastor Akinbodunse, leader of the Pretoria-based Samuel Akinbodunse Ministries, declared that God told him that Nelson Chamisa’s time has come.
The South Africa-based Pastor started his prophecy by reminding congregants that at the last elections, God told him that it was not yet time for Chamisa. Pastor Akinbodunse said that at the time, he told congregants that God had selected President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The Nigerian Pastor went on to say that this time around, Chamisa would win the presidential elections. However, he added that the opposition would only win the elections after several gruelling legal challenges.

Zanu PF would have never won the 2013 or 2018 elections if MDC had implemented the democratic reforms to end Zanu PF's carte blanche powers to rig elections. I hope this false prophet is not suggesting that God instructed MDC leaders not to implement any reforms too so Zanu PF can win the 2013 and 2018 elections!

No doubt there will many who will believe the false prophet because he is saying something they want to hear - Chamisa victory - even though the evidence points to yet another rigged elections. We have some gullible people bordering on insanity!

  8. It has taken over forty years for some people to finally admit Zanu PF is a party of corrupt, incompetent and ruthless thugs. Sadly, he and many other war veterans have yet to realise that Zanu PF has remained in office all these years because the party rigged elections. They have been brainwashed into believing Zanu PF alone has the divine right to rule the country and hence the reason many of the war veterans have played a major role in rigging the elections for Zanu PF.

He and his fellow was veterans are complaining that they are living in abject poverty and it is true. But we can be certain that many of them will be out harassing, beating and coercing the people to vote for Zanu PF in the 2023 elections.

The penny has not yet dropped for them to link the country’s economic meltdown with the decades of Zanu PF misrule and that there will be no meaningful economic recovery as long as the country remains a pariah state ruled by thugs! Will the penny ever drop? Not bloody likely, some of these people have been thoroughly brainwashed they are incapable of seeing reason!

Sadly, we have the same thing with some of the MDC/CCC supporters, they too are as fanatical as these war veterans. MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, but that has not dampened their support of MDC/CCC. They even call Chamisa Change Champion in Chief and yet has not delivered even one token change!

  9. @ Mbofana

“Whenever I come across the numerous posts on social media by these ruling party sycophants - praising and cheering on the barbaric, and oftentimes unconstitutional, persecution and repression of voices of dissent and opposition - I cannot help wondering what they would have done had this still been colonial Rhodesia.

Considering these people's serious contempt of democratic principles, constitutionality, and the respect of human rights - how would they have regarded people like Herbert Wiltshire Chitepo, Joshua Mqabuko Nkomo, Leopold Takawira, Rekayi Tangwena, Josiah Chinamano, Josiah Magama Tongogara, or Dumiso Dabengwa?”

I noticed you did not include Robert Mugabe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, Constantino Chiwenga and many others liberation war heroes and heroines who survive the war and returned to rule the country. It was no accident you left these men and women out because it is their barbarism and repression the Zanu PF sycophants are praising and cheering.

The truth is we should have considered other ways to end colonial rule other than waging the war because whilst it certainly hastened the end of colonial rule it did not end oppression.

The story goes that when Mahatma Gandhi and his fellow Indian nationalists were presented with the option of waging the war to end British rule of India, they chose nonviolent peaceful protest instead. “What kind of leaders will the war throw up?” they asked. “And will they be the kind of leaders, we would want to rule independent India?”

We in Zimbabwe opted for an armed struggle and we have regretted the decision ever since. We now know why Gandhi and company were right to reject waging the war!

We should not be surprised that Zanu PF supporters are sycophants with no respect for the rule of law and the rights and dignity of others; they learned all that from the party leaders who are ruthless thugs per excellence! The liberation war produced corrupt and incompetent hawks not rational and peace loving doves! And 43 years after independence and counting we are still stuck with the hawks!

  10. Former Minister of Higher and Tertiary education, Science and Technology Development Jonathan Moyo blames the opposition party for the few number of people who have registered to vote.

As of today Harare province lies with the largest number of registered voters at 588 672 followed by Mashonaland West with 356 086 registered voters. The list goes on up to Matebeleland North with only 155 057 registered voters.

According to Jonathan Moyo the subtotal is very low and it proves how weak the opposition party is.

Referring to Chamisa led Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) party, Moyo said it is structureless.

"You get a leader of a new structureless political formation that claims to be the government in waiting, who lives in Harare & is happy to tweet daily feel-good Godly & motivational messages to his followers, but is unable to voter-mobilise in Harare," Moyo wrote on Twitter

Moyo also says that, "These voter registration figures tell a story of an incompetent & failed opposition with no structural capacity to register new voters, despite being active & vocal on Twitter.”

CCC’s flag ship “winning in rigged election” strategy was mass voter registration followed by mass voting on voting day! The party’s set target was to register 6 million new voters or 600 000 voters for each of the 10 provinces. And so only in Harare managed to register anything near 600 000. And so CCC’s No 1 strategy is dead in the water.

CCC knows that Zanu PF is rigging the 2023 elections and their participation will only give Zanu PF legitimacy. They are participating regardless because they are after the few gravy train Zanu PF is giving away to entice the opposition.

“Ko zvinoreveiko izvi? My understanding is that the area which is said to be endowed with lithium in Mberengwa is now a RESERVED AREA, which means that nobody, except government, has got the right to undertake any mining or related activities in the area, right? If that’s the case, and I understand it is the case, then, it would mean that not even the Chinese nor their proxies, should be seen in the area undertaking any mining and related activities. The authorities need to make it clear to the population as to what the status quo is. I don’t support illegal mining (chikorokoza), which I believe our government has supported for a long time. But when things like what’s described in these voice narratives happen, people become not only confused, but angry, which is not at all good for the country.”

This is not a vicious cycle, it is people who are shooting themselves in the foot.

What is happening here is corruption and we helpless to stop it because it is too late to do so. We can stop corruption by stopping Zanu PF rigging the elections and getting political legitimacy by implementing the reforms to ensure free and fair elections. We have failed to implement even one reform and keep participating in the flawed elections knowing fully well that by participating we are giving Zanu PF legitimacy.

We are now complaining that Zanu PF is corrupt and we cannot stop them. Of course, we cannot stop them! Why did we give the regime legitimacy in the first place!
