Avalanche of blunders gives Mangudya guts to challenge "Tzar" Ncube N Garikai

Rumour has it that Minister of Finance, Professor Mthuli Ncube, and the Governor of Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Dr John Mangudya are failing to agree on key monetary policies including when Zimbabwe should bring back the dreaded Z$.

When came in as Minister of Finance, Professor Ncube boasted that he was going to attract investors, bringing economic stability, etc. None of these things have happened; instead the country's economy has blundered from one economic crisis to the next. When he first arrived the Minister was the Tzar no one dared to question but now after all these blunders; Governor Mangudya and others have the courage to disagree and say so loud and clear. The Tzar does not like it one bit!

Indeed Minister Ncube is now so unhappy in his job some people believe he is planning to walkout! “Historic comment. Something is afoot. Is there any merit to the talk in high places that your plans to do a Nkosana Moyo have reached an advance stage?” commented Professor Jonathan Moyo, clearly relishing the prospect of the discomfort it will bring to Mnangagwa and Zanu PF.

Dr Nkosana Moyo a technocrat appointed into Mugabe's cabinet with as much fun-fare with the high hopes that he would inject new life into the cabinet and the economy. It was embarrassing when Moyo sneaked out of the country and then announced he had resigned out of frustration with the regime's incompetence!

Professor Mthuli Ncube can f-off! He has already proven beyond all doubt that he is just a big-headed Professor Know-It-All with no common sense, he has blundered from pillar to post, promised mountains and yet delivered mole hills. Zimbabweans will have good cause to celebrate his departure.

Still, Professor Ncube must hunt down and quiz on whether he really believed the July 2018 Zimbabwe elections were free, fair and credible and Mnangagwa and his junta regime were legitimate. It is inconceivable he was not aware of the damning reports by the many election observer teams including Zimbabwe’s own Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission; proof Zanu PF rigged the elections.

So Professor Ncube would have accepted his appointment as Minister knowing fully well that Zanu PF was illegitimate. There can only be one logical reason why he did that - to further his own selfish and egotistic interest regardless of the suffering and deaths the Zanu PF dictatorship was causing to the nation.

Indeed Professor Ncube has played his own role in bringing more grief to the nation. His 2% tax on electronic transactions had hit the poor hard. Government was getting a cut of the poor's US$30 or less per month, in a country whose poverty datum line is US$650 per month, dragging them even deeper below the breadline. One decent meal, life-saving medicine, etc. have become luxuries and hundreds of thousands have died in damn anguish.

Whilst Professor Ncube had no second thoughts in taxing the poor to death, he left the filthy rich ruling elite untouched. He not only failed to stop the looting but failed to get the looters to pay any tax on their loot. If anything he using the cash squeezed from the poor to pay for the hired jets, overseas health jaunt, etc. for the ruling elite!

In 2016 Mugabe admitted the nation was being “swindled” out of $15 billion in diamond revenue alone. Mugabe was booted out of office in 2017 before he had arrested even one of the swindlers. Mnangagwa said his new dispensation had “zero tolerance on corruption”. He has been in office over a year now and has yet to arrest one diamond swindler!

Mnangagwa has been busy rigging the July 2018 elections and seeing to it the state security forces punished all those who dared protest the rigged elections, the soaring cost of living, etc. It was Professor Mthuli Ncube, Minister Kirsty Coventry and many others’ job to sell a sanitised democratic Zimbabwe to the world.

Mnangagwa, just like Mugabe before, has never had an problems recruiting mean spirited sell-outs like Ncube, Coventry, etc. He paid them well! Pretty good wages for one Judas Iscariot kiss!

The growing number of blunders, the scandal of his own incompetence, the vote of no confidence from those around him, etc. is enough to warn Professor Ncube he should sneak out before the s***t hits the fan, so to speak.

Wherever you go, Professor Mthuli Ncube, you be be certain we will find you. You must explain to the people of Zimbabwe whether you really did not know that Zanu PF rigged the 2018 elections and was therefore illegitimate. Zimbabwe has had more than its fair share of individuals so mean spirited they would sell their own mother for a price and be proud they had a mother to sell. We must hold these sell-outs to account and make it clear this behaviour will not be tolerated.

“And complicit are the independent media and academic observers who when the shoe is in Zanupfs foot, they issue condemnations with such eloquence you would think they invented the English language. Much is expected of Zanupf but not the Mdc because apparently these advocates for democracy are unobjective hypocrites,” you said.

“What a shame. They are no different from Zbc and the learned propaganda consultants like Tafataona Mahoso. They just happen to be on different sides but they are just the same. The MDC is allowed to pass through the gates of scrutiny without being searched and screened because Zanupf is hated with a passion. Nothing could be more dangerous because that is how Hitler got god like powers and that is how Zanupf became monstrous. People wanted out of Rhodesia.
“Rhodesians were the enemy and Zanupf were the saviours who could do no wrong. Excuses were made for their violence and other abuses. People saw and heard no evil because they wanted black rule at all costs.

“Silence is expected when the Mdc does wrong. Whoever tries speaking out is silenced by insults and abuse which includes being labeled Zanupf. Zvino nyadzisa shuwa kunzi uri mu Zanu, unonzwa kunge uri kufamba muna first street uri musvo, usina kana bhurukwa remukati, nhengo dziri pachena! Being labeled Zanupf becomes a weapon of silence, a weapon to discredit your views. When labelled Zanupf, the public loses respect for you and therefore discard and dismiss whatever you have to say. The Mdc’s deceitful leaders have taken full advantage of this. They abuse funds, do not account for funds, misappropriate funds, make absolutely no financial disclosures, violate their own Constitution and go on as if they are champions, heroes and saviours.”

You have hit the nail on the head there. The trouble with some of our people is the call themselves democrats any yet have no clue what that means. The politics they know and understand is the Darwinian dominate or be dominated, kill or be killed. They only evoke the democratic values of respecting other people’s freedoms and rights when they are on the losing side. As soon as they are in a position of power and advantage their primeval instincts kick in!

Mnangagwa blatantly rigged last July’s elections and yet he claims the elections were free, fair and credible. The idiots in SADC and AU are not helping the situation by endorsing his claim. The situation has been further compounded by the corrupt and incompetent village idiots in the opposition who participated in the elections knowing Zanu PF would rig the elections.

Chamisa would have sworn the elections were free, fair and credible on the Holy Bible a long time ago if Mnangagwa had had the wit to grant him a seat on a gravy train. Giving Chamisa the seat now will force the village idiot to shut his trap but will not bring about any political and economic change. The world will still not be fooled into believing the addition of Chamisa into the regime has transformed Zimbabwe from a pariah state into a democrat one!

All those calling for Mnangagwa and Chamisa dialogue are fools! Mnangagwa is illegitimate because he rigged last July’s elections only fools would believe Chamisa has the power to declare Mnangagwa legitimate and it will be so!

Look at what the man said and not the man. The true value of a meaningful democratic debate is on weight of the ideas discussed and not on the persons who spoke!

You did not lose your wife to an old man and may even be the old man stealing young men's wives that clearly has not stopped you saying nonsense! The nation is not interested in finding ways out of the hell-hole we find ourselves in and not in your devilish exploits!

  3. Zanu-PF Secretary for Legal Affairs Paul Mangwana has denied statements by opposition MDC’s Nelson Chamisa that Morgan Tsvangirai died a bitter man after the ruling party reneged on a deal to co-opt him into President Mnangagwa’s Government.

Mangwana said there were no discussions of a National Transitional Authority or GNU with Tsvangirai.

Tsvangirai wanted to go into a GNU with Mnangagwa and have the 2018 elections postponed just as he wanted the 2013 elections postponed to extend the 2008 GNU.

The principle that there must be regular as clock work free, fair and credible elections where the people get a chance to elect the men and women who will govern the country is sacrosanct.

There was no excuse for postponing the 2013 elections because the GNU had the full five years to implement the reforms and everything else that was necessary to ensure free and fair elections.
As it happened they had failed to implement even one democratic reform in five years and it is naive to believe postponing the elections and keeping the same corrupt and incompetent players was going to change anything. It would be breaking the sacrosanct rule of holding regular elections for the purpose of rewarding the GNU leaders for having failed to do their work in five years - the very thing the rule is meant to prevent.

Postponing the 2018 elections was just as foolish!

Tsvangirai was a simpleton who had no clue what democracy was about and Chamisa, even with all the benefit of hindsight, is no better! All Chamisa is hungering for is a seat on the gravy train, he will never implement any reforms even if a new GNU was formed!

  4. Professor Mthuli Ncube is a tyrant who believes he is God's greatest gift to mankind, he believes he alone knows what is best for us all. A good education is supposed to open one's mind to new ideas and the more one sees the more one would realise that there is a lot more than one would comprehend even if one lived for 100 000 years. Humility!

It seems Mthuli Ncube's Cambridge University education brought into sharp focus the tyrannical arrogance in him. Go into his office and the wall is covered with degrees, PhDs, professorships, graduation photos, him shaking hands with dignitaries, etc. a constant reminder to himself and all who enter the office of his greatest!

Having a village idiot like Mnangagwa for a boss did not help the nation, Ncube bowled him over with his bull and he had licence to impose his ill-thought out policies and to shoot from the hip. Ncube never doubted for one minute that he would deliver economic prosperity even when he was warned the cost in human suffering and deaths was soaring to unacceptable level. He was a general who saw the greater the number killed in battle as a measure of his own greatness. The greater the human sacrifice the greater the prosperity.

There was no chance of his policies and programmes ever failing, how could they when it was him, Professor Mthuli Ncube, the Lord Almighty's greatest gift to mankind, who proposed them.

The greater the arrogance the greater the blunder. The last six months of Tzar Ncube's idiotic policies have dragged the nation into new depths of economic hell second only to Gideon Gono's money printing madness of 2000 to 2008!

Tzar Mthuli Ncube's austerity measures have brought a lot of pain with no gain in the short, medium or long term. It was pain for pain's sake. Hundreds of thousands of people have lost their lives because of his blundering incompetence. The very fact that he came to work for an illegitimate regime knowing fully well that Zanu PF had just rigged the elections makes him a partner to this treasonous crime against the nation.

In the name of justice and the good people of Zimbabwe; Tzar Mthuli Ncube must answer for his murderous economic blunders and for aiding and abetting an illegitimate and tyrannical regime!

You should do your own research and you will know it was not Mangudya who introduced the 2% tax on all electronic transactions over $10. It was Minister Ncube who did that.

The trouble with narrow minded people like you is your binary mentality. Anyone who criticises Ncube must support Mangudya. Ncube has made so many blunders that even the incompetent Mangudya has the guts to question his policies; that is what Nomusa is talking about!

“Let’s not lay blame on Kirsty Coventry and Mthuli Ncube for Zim's economic woes. Given a chance even the reporter here would have taken these Government jobs, so stop demonising Mthuli and Kirsty,” you said.
Even if the reporter was to be offered a job by Mnangagwa and take it that is irrelevant to the argument because even if we all took the job it does not make it right! What is at issue here is that Zanu PF rigged the elections and the regime needed some people to spruce up its image. Of course Mthuli and Kirsty know Zanu PF is illegitimate and they also know they are in the cabinet to give the regime some modicum of respectability. They are being paid and paid well too for the services.
Ministerial limos, very generous salaries and allowances, a chance to travel the world in 787-8 Dreamliner jets, etc., etc.; that is a lot more than the thirty pieces of silver Judas Iscariot got for a kiss. Sadly, Zimbabwe has more than it fair share of “mean spirited people who would sell their own mother for a price and be proud they had a mother to sell,” as Nomusa pointed out. Let us just say Judas Iscariot who have faced some stiff competition if Israel had been Zimbabwe!
You are not arguing that if Judas had faced the tough competition, his betrayal would have been perfectly acceptable? In other words we should honour Mthuli and Kirsty for being the ones selling-out given the stiff competition they had to overcome! What a twisted and foolish argument!

  7. “THE drive for Zimbabwe to have its own currency is understandably gain-ing traction, particularly given the aberrations of price increases, multi-tier pricing and foreign currency shortages on the local market,” you say.

“The country demonetised its local unit in 2009 after an unhealthy bout of hyperinflation, which was largely driven by illegal sanctions imposed on Zimbabwe by the United States and the European Union (EU).”

It is not the lack of local currency that is driving the price increases, the foreign currency shortages, etc. It is the economic waste through mismanagement and corruption and the failure to revive the economy because investors will not do business in pariah state.

Zimbabwe’s hyperinflation was “largely driven by illegal sanctions”! Well, it does not get an more foolish than that!

  8. They also urged Mnangagwa "to remain true to his inaugural promises . . . put Zimbabwe back on a path of reconciliation and respect for democracy and the rule of law".

The Zimbabwean government has to decide on whether to accept these recommendations and fend off further international isolation or continue with its ostrich mentality of burying their heads in the sand.

In that case, if the sanctions regime is tightened, Mnangagwa and his government will have no one to blame, but themselves because it is within their power to bring back Zimbabwe from the brink.

In 1978 When SA told Ian Smith it will no longer propping his regime, Smith had the good sense to know the game was up and agreed to negotiate for end white rule. The Zimbabwe economy is in a serious mess with 75% of the people living on US$30 or less a month in a country in which the poverty datum line is US$650 per month, less than 5%, it could not be any more clearly that Zanu PF has failed and they must go.

Sadly, Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF thugs have no common sense, they will ignore the game is up sign and hang on to power dragging the nation deeper and deeper into this hell. When Mnangagwa promised democratic change and to revive the economy he meant as long as none of these changes threatened his hold on power. If they did, then the deal is off, his first priority is to hang on to power at all cost!

If we are going to force these Zanu PF thugs to give up their tyrannical powers then we will have to up our demands for change. Offering the regime the GNU bolt-hole is not going to cut the ice! Zanu PF rigged last July’s elections we have to be firm and uncompromising in our demand for the regime to step down.

  9. Mnangagwa is a corrupt, incompetent and murderous tyrant who number one priority is to hang on to power at all cost. The EU is trying to reason with him that he must accept that Zanu PF has failed to govern but they are wasting their time because he is incapable of seeing reason. The tragic human suffering and deaths of ordinary Zimbabwe say all that needs be said about the seriousness of the economic situation in Zimbabwe. Anyone else would be moved to pity but not him - his heart is as cold as ice, he does not care about the suffering masses.

Removing this Zanu PF dictatorship from office is going to be a mess business. The country had the golden opportunity to do this during the 2008 GNU and the chance was wasted and now the will pay for it dearly!

  10. "We saw them burning police cars and killing cops, where else have you seen that? But we said no, we do not need violence. We deployed soldiers to stop the protesters and they quelled the disturbances," said Mnangagwa, addressing his “Thank You!” rally in Mwenezi.
"Now they are planning more chaos, but we are telling everyone in the country that if you do not want peace, take part in the noise!

"Those that want peace, stay at home, so that we deal with those that want violence.
"We will sort them out. Those who come to you inviting you to the protests, tell them to pass, what you are saying has bad omens of Legion.”

Mnangagwa is digging in and will hold on to power to the bitter end - whatever that happens to be. Those seeking to appease him by offering him power through a new GNU are not helping end the crisis but are extending it! Zanu PF is illegitimate we should be firm and uncompromising in our demand for the regime to step-down.

  11. "Vanyangira yaona! Tichavazvandura!" (We are aware of what MDC is up to! We will ruthlessly beat them up!) boasted Mnangagwa. Anyone who still believe Mnangagwa is interested in the rule of law and justice is naive. His top priority right now is to make sure he retain an iron grip on power at all cost!

We had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms which would have ended the Zanu PF dictatorship and after five years in the GNU MDC failed to get even one reform implemented. And now the nation is paying dearly for that folly! The end game of the Zanu PF dictatorship is upon us and things are going to get a lot worse. Zanu PF's position is if the party is not going to rule then it will make Zimbabwe hell-on-earth. "Shaisano!" as one would say in Shona.

The country would have been spared all this misery if MDC had implemented the democratic reforms when the party had the golden opportunity to do so during the last GNU. The focus now should be to demand that Zanu PF step down but Chmisa's demand that he be appointed president is mudding the water. What would Chamisa president with a 2/3 Zanu PF parliament accomplish? All Chamisa is after is a seat back on the gravy train!
