"Mnangagwa is sincere" says Masiyiwa - was he, when he rigged elections, shot dead protestors N Garikai

“Concerning the change taking place in Zimbabwe, I believe it is real. I believe President Mnangagwa is sincere,” said Strive Masiyiwa on CNBC Africa.
“Zimbabwe needs to be given a chance. The sanctions should be removed, there is no justifications for them any more. I have always been on record to say the sanctions are not justified. You cannot have one country operating with its hands tied behind its back!”
As Zimbabweans, there are somethings we can agree to differ on but there are others that are basic and fundamental truths that to question them is sacrilege. Zanu PF is a party of ruthless thugs who have systematically denied the ordinary Zimbabweans their freedoms and basic human rights including their right to an meaningful say in the governance of the country and even the right to life itself!
We are talking of Zanu PF, a party that has destroyed the nation’s economy because of 38 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption forcing 75% of our people to live in abject poverty. Mr Masiyiwa, over 10 million of Zimbabwe 14 million population are living on US$1.00 or less a day!
We are talking about a party, Zanu PF, whose appetite for power and wealth is insatiable. Ever since the party got into power in 1980, it has corrupted the nation’s state institutions, cheated elections, harassed, beaten, raped and even murdered innocent Zimbabweans to establish and retain a de facto one party dictatorship.
The party has murdered over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans in its 38 years reign of terror.
President Mnangagwa promised to hold free, fair and credible elections only to blatantly rig the 30 July 2018 elections - just as he has done countless time as Mugabe’s Chief Enforcer. He had seven protestors shot dead on 1st August followed by weeks in which Zanu PF opponents were roughed up; just to remind us all that he and his junta will not hesitate to shed fresh blood to retain their iron grip on power.
Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown is back in ICU, the country facing serious shortages of food, fuel, medicine, foreign currency, etc. The shortages were triggered by President Mnangagwa’s reckless spending buying new cars for Chiefs and party officials, on chartered planes, on vote rigging and vote buying schemes, etc.
Zimbabwe needs a large injection of investment and financial assistance to kick-start its comatose economy. Sadly, the country is not going to get any such leg-up because no investors will do business in a pariah state ruled by corrupt and vote rigging thugs.
The Americans made is very clear that the targeted sanctions would be lifted if Zanu PF held free, fair and credible elections. The party rigged the 30 July 2018 elections and so it is nonsensical to call for the sanctions to be lifted!
President Mnangagwa is a corrupt, vote rigging and ruthless thug. And as long as the nation remains under this tyranny our people will continue suffer in abject poverty denied of all their rights, hope and human dignity.
“President Mnangagwa is sincere!” The tyrant staged the November 2017 military coup, went on to blatantly rigged the July 2018 elections and right it is clear has failed to rig economic recovery but will hold on to power to the bitter end. Sincere! What is so sincere about a vote rigging thug holding the whole nation to ransom!!!

  1. We can agree to differ on other matters but not of Mnangagwa being a corrupt, vote rigging and murderous thug - these are well established historic facts. A murderous thug who has just stage a coup, rigged elections and is holding the nation to ransom is hardly the man one would call "sincere"!

  2. It is shocking that after 38 years of this corrupt and tyrannical dictatorship there can still be anyone still doubting that the system cares for the few at the expense of the overwhelming majority. How can anyone be so blind and indifferent to the suffering and despair of the millions of ordinary Zimbabweans now living in abject poverty and hundreds if not thousands are dying every months for lack of medicine and poverty induced illnesses.

Strive Masiyiwa did not have the guts to deny that Mnangagwa rigged the 30 July 2018 elections but was foolish enough to bury his head in the sand and pretend the elections never even took place. Where was Mnangagwa's sincerity when he blatantly denied 3 million Zimbabweans in their diaspora their vote, failed to produce something as basic as a verified voters' roll, the 2.4 million votes the thugs claims he garnered could not be traced or verified, etc. The vote rigging was so blatant that even ZEC had three different results.

Mnangagwa is illegitimate and should step down. But like other tyrant before him he is holding the nation to ransom and will hang on to power to the bitter end. Zimbabwe is right on the edge of the precipice, one more step and the country will become another Somalia, Libya or Syria.

Even now, with but minutes to spare before the country is dragged beyond the point of no return, when we should all be speaking in one united voice in calling for Mnangagwa and his junta to step down, it is most disheartening that there still some who still want the dictatorship "to be given a chance"! A chance to complete its sadistic objective that if Zanu PF is not allowed to rule the country then Zimbabwe itself must be reduced to ruins!

“Masiiwa should look beyond any financial advantages he gains in cruelly supporting Mnangagwa. He knows historical what genocide mnangagwa did in Mathebeleland. Because of businesses and money he overlooks all those facts to praise him. But Masiiwa Strive is Christian, a Christian that worships money first before values and principles.”

Masiyiwa is nothing but Zimbabwe’s Joseph Goebbels or Chemical Ali who blabbered on and on about Germany and Iraq victory and praising Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein respectively even the whole country was in ruins!

Unless Masiyiwa has expanded his business activities to include trading in foreign currency or some such dodgy business then he has not made any money in the last four months. No honesty business activity can thrive in the present chaotic economic environment.

It is infuriating that one has not only to fight Mnangagwa and his junta to accept they have failed but has to fight people like Strive Masiyiwa, who should know better, as well! No wonder the country is a total mess, we have more than our fair share of village idiots, alright!

“Being sincere does not exonerate him from the genocide if he had a hand in it. I think you are mixing up issues a bit here. Neither does it mean he didn’t rig elections, if he indeed did it. Strive is saying out his observations as of now.”

You are always struggled to see the wood from the trees but now it is clear you cannot even distinguish the grass from the trees! “Neither does it mean he didn’t rig elections, if he indeed did it,” you say. Does that mean you, forget Masiyiwa for a minute, do not believe Mnangagwa rigged the elections?

Mnangagwa blatantly rigged the 30 July 2018 elections, this is a historic fact. Whether you, Masiyiwa and a million other village idiots out there decide to ignore this fact is irrelevant; the fact will remain unchanged.

The greatest test of Mnangagwa’s sincerity that Zimbabwe had been completely transformed in a “new dispensation and open for business” was for him to honour his promise to hold free, fair and credible elections. He failed the test completely, the thug did not even implement even one single reform for Pete’s sake!

So if Mnangagwa was not sincere in holding free, fair and credible elections who cares if he was sincere in some other trivial matters. If one is fought guilty of murdering a helpless old lady it is nonsensical to argue that the murderer should be honoured for having helped the old lady cross the street!

Mnangagwa is a corrupt, vote rigging and murderous tyrant who should be pressure to step down now before he takes the nation over the precipice! Only a feeble minded village idiot would want the tyrant to stay in office for even one more minute! Mnangagwa must go and go he will!

  5. Former education minister and MDC Alliance bigwig David Coltart has challenged the Econet founder and executive chairman Strive Masiyiwa to put his feet where his mouth is.

For once, I agree with Coltart!

Masiyiwa is seeing change in Zimbabwe where there is none. If Mnangagwa was sincere about bring about real change in Zimbabwe then he should have implemented the democratic reforms to ensure the 30 July 2018elections were free, fair and credible. He did no such thing, he went on to blatantly rig the elections.

Mnangagwa is a tyrant and like all tyrants he believes that he alone knows best, that Zanu PF is the only party competent to rule, hence the reason he rigged the 30 July 2018 and past elections too. He promised to hold free, fair and credible elections and he was clearly not being sincere in making that promise.

As for Coltart he too is just as corrupt and incompetent as Mnangagwa. MDC has just celebrated its 19 year anniversary and yet the party has failed to implement even one democratic change in all these years. By participating in these elections with no reforms in place MDC have been it easier for Zanu PF to rig the elections and get away with it.

Coltart does not care the elections were rigged, he is over the moon he got a seat on the gravy train, he is one of the MDC Alliance Senators. Fancy him telling Masiyiwa to put his foot where his mouth is; has he, Coltart, ever done that!

“Where exactly did he say things are good? Does saying someone is sincerely trying mean things are now good? Does it even guarantee he will succeed? Don`t be silly Coltart.”

It is not Coltart who is being silly; you are the one who is being silly.

Zimbabwe is in this political and economic hell-on-earth because of decades of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF rule. Since last November’s military coup Mnangagwa has promised a “new Zimbabwe, a new dispensation, a Zimbabwe open for business”. Masiyiwa is telling us Mnangagwa is being sincere and should be given a chance.

Of course, Masiyiwa is being down right stupid, not silly stupid, because Mnangagwa is NOT sincere in saying Zimbabwe has changed. The tyrant has just blatantly rigged the recent elections and thus proving beyond all doubt that Zimbabwe is still a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent and vote rigging thugs.

Mnangagwa and his junta must step down right now because they are dragging this nation deeper and deeper into the abyss. Unemployment is already 90%, 75% of our people are living on US$1.00 a day, etc. and you still want Zanu PF to remain in power! Are you waiting to see rioting and blood shed in our streets before you finally admit that Zanu PF has failed. No wonder the country is in a mess, we sure have more than our fair share of village idiots!

  7. Freelance journalist Violet Gonda was briefly detained by Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) agents on Monday while filming at State House.

The freelance journalist had been covering a breakfast meeting between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and business executives.

Mnangagwa thought the world will be fooled by his "Zimbabwe is open for business!" mantra into believing Zimbabwe had changed. No one was fooled and by rigging the recent elections he confirmed the country is still a pariah state ruled by corrupt and vote rigging thugs. Investors are shying away from Zimbabwe and the economic meltdown has just taken a turn for the worse.

The reality is dawning on Mnangagwa that he is not going to rig economic recovery the same way he rigged the elections. In his desperate effort to hang on to power, the tyrant will become increasingly paranoid and resort to all manner of brutality.

If Mnangagwa is not forced to step down he will turn Zimbabwe into another Somalia or Libya!

  8. "I think for instance that the sanctions should be removed, there's no justification for them anymore. They should be removed. I've always been on record to say the sanctions are not justified and now we're almost 20 years into the sanctions. You can't have one country operate with its hands tied behind its back," said Masiyiwa.

The sanctions were imposed because the Zanu PF regime failed to hold free, fair and credible elections. The Americans went to great lengths to explain what they wanted Zanu PF to do for the sanctions to be lifted; allow Zimbabweans in the diaspora to vote, have a free public media, etc. None of these things happened.

Zanu PF went on to frog march the rural voters as before. These people are nothing more than serfs beholden to the landlord, Zanu PF. So Masiyiwa is more concerned about Mnangagwa and his cronies suffering the inconvenience of not being able to shop anywhere in America but does not care about the millions povo the thugs are riding over roughshod! What an idiot!

  9. A tweet by the Ministry of Information, Publicity & Broadcasting said, "Government welcomes statements by @StriveMasiyiwa calling for the removal of sanctions imposed against the country. The country requires all the support it can get to create an environment that is conducive for the revitalisation of the economy #TSP #MiddleIncomeEconomy2030."

The American said they would lift the sanctions is Zimbabwe holds free, fair and credible elections. Were the 30 July elections free, fair and credible? The answer is no. Zanu PF blatantly rigged the elections.

By rigging the elections Mnangagwa has effectively chased away the would-be investors because no one, not even the Chinese, want to invest is a pariah state ruled by corrupt and vote rigging thugs.

Zimbabwe’s economic recovery has, for the last 20 years at least, dependent on the country dismantling the de facto one-party dictatorship and thus end the criminal waste of resources and lawlessness it fostered on the nation. Nothing of any substance will ever be accomplished as long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state. Nothing!

It is typical of the regime, its apologists and and brainwashed village idiots to blame everyone else but itself for the country’s problems. The 38 years of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF rule are the root cause of the country’s economic meltdown and it is naive to expect an economic recovery whilst the country still remains under the same corrupt and tyrannical rule!

“Zimbos, please come to your senses. This monster called sanctions is a reality, even if you are hoodwinked to think the economic meltdown is strictly ZanuPf incompetence only. We must see dawn on that issue. If ZanuPf was so rotten to the core to create sufficient suffering for the people of Zimbabwe, why would America keep Zidera in place. Keeping it in place is actually fear that if let alone Zim will prosper. unfortunately we have our own, very learned also who don’t see it or who uses it for selfish ends.”

This is a truckload of nonsense! The Zimbabwe economy was already in deep s**t; hence the need for the two five-year, 1990 and 1995, Economic Structural Adjustment Programs (ESAP); long before ZIDERA and other western sanctions imposed in 2001.

Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown was caused by 38 years of Zanu PF misrule and it is naive to think the country will achieve any meaningful economic recovery whilst the country remains under the same corrupt and tyrannical regime.

Zanu PF has not change and Masiyiwa is being plain stupid to suggest that it has particularly when Mnangagwa has just rigged the recent elections!
