MDC/CCC have "fought in the trenches for change" said Mahere. Nonsense. Name one change they have brought in 24 years? W Mukori

The sheer hypocrisy of Zimbabwe’s opposition stinks!

“On the 1st of November, I spoke on the phone with Duma Boko to congratulate him on an outstanding victory in Botswana’s elections. My voice crackled as we spoke.,” wrote Fadzayi Mahere in a recent article in Breaking News Channel (BNC).

“Anyone who has fought in the trenches for change knows how deep and dark the journey can sometimes feel. You fall down often. You fail more times than you succeed. At times, you give everything and it feels like you yield nothing – until change comes. I thanked him for his inspiration and for reminding us of what is possible.

“For Botswana, the old was dying and the new was being born.”

“Anyone who has fought in the trenches for change knows how deep and dark the journey can sometimes feel!” What the devil is she wittering about?

Ever since the 2008 to 2013 GNU MDC/CCC and Zanu PF leaders have worked as partners and shred the spoils of power. So when has Mahere ever been in the trenches and fighting who exactly?

The people of Zimbabwe have risked livelihoods, limbs and lives, over 500 died in the 2008 elections alone, to elect the MDC/CCC leaders into power for principle task of implementing the necessary democratic changes to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends had their golden chance to implement the democratic reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU.

Robert Mugabe, who did not want his dictatorial powers including the carte blanche powers to rig elections scrapped, bribed Tsvangirai and company with the trappings of high office; the E-Class Mercedes Benz limos, the very generous salaries and allowances, a US$4 million Highlands mansion for Tsvangirai, etc., etc. In return the MDC leaders kicked the democratic reforms into the thorny-devil Cactus thicket!

Not even the constant nagging by SADC leaders got MDC leaders to implement even one token reform. Credit were credit is due SA’s Minister Lindiwe Zulu did her best to remind MDC leaders on the need to implement the reforms. Mugabe called her “street woman” for her troubles!

“Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” (MDC leaders have learned to enjoy the gravy train good-life, they will never rock the boat!) boasted Zanu PF cronies during the GNU when asked why MDC leaders were not implementing reforms.

Ever since the GNU debacle, MDC/CCC leaders have participated in flawed elections knowing fully well that Zanu PF was rigging and that participating would give the regime legitimacy. They have soldier on regardless for the same reasons they failed to implement reforms during the GNU - incompetency and greed.

The opposition party that conned the biggest number of their supporters to participate in the flawed elections got the few gravy train seats Zanu PF was offering as bait. Chamisa has conned his supporters to participate in the flawed elections with one idiotic lie after another.

Last year he told them CCC would win big because he had “plugged all Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes. #Godisinit!” The nation did not even have verified voters’ roll and yet knew, from Team Pachedu’s reports, that “the voters’ roll was in shambles”. Chamisa did not even deploy elections agents at 1 000 Polling Stations, or 10%, although he had received funding for it.

It is no exaggeration to say MDC/CCC have been Zanu PF team B in all but name, playing for team A to win and to give team A political legitimacy. How else can one explain why MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform in 24 years, including 5 in the GNU and have stubbornly insisted on participating in the flawed elections knowing the process is flawed and that participating will give vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy.

Fadzayi Mahere and company know fully well that both SADC and AU election observers condemned 2023 elections as flawed and illegal and recommended that the country must implement a raft of democratic reforms to end this curse of rigged elections and bad governance. They know that not even one token reform will be implement and still they will participate in the 2028 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for the same reasons they participated in the past - incompetency and greed.

“I hope you know just how lucky you are to live in a democracy where the will of the people is respected and passion for country trumps the love of power!” Mahere told the Botswana citizen siting next to her at President Duma Boko’s inauguration ceremony.

True enough Zimbabwe is not a democracy and the nation has been held to ransom by Zanu PF leaders’ love of power ever since the country’s independence in 1980. Still, it must be said, the Zanu PF dictatorship has survived and even thrived these last 24 years thanks MDC/CCC leaders’ love of power!

If there is ever going to be any meaningful democratic changes in Zimbabwe then it is for Zimbabweans themselves to finally wakeup to the political reality that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt, incompetent and liars. Chamisa and company will never ever deliver any democratic reforms; they failed to do so during the 2008 to 2013 GNU when they had the golden opportunity to do so. It is naive to expect them to do so now when they are very comfortable and cosy, enjoying their share of the spoils of power with their senior partner, Zanu PF!

If the truth be said it is not the rural voters who are keeping Zanu PF in power but the corrupt and incompetent opposition and their brain dead supporters who are easily conned. Chamisa conned them to participate in flawed elections with idiotic lies of winning rigged elections. Chiwenga is conning them into supporting yet another dictatorship musical chairs with his constitution waving gimmick!

What is you take on the US elections? I think we are in deep, deep trouble, especially those of us from the third world who are failing to govern ourselves. Trumps has no time for the weak and he will only give many the excuse to do the same. He will lead and many will follow.

If there was ever a time for us to sit up and sort out our problem, it is now. This is do or die! And Alas, many will die!

Nations get the government they deserve and we, in Zimbabwe, sure deserve this corrupt and murderous Zanu PF dictatorship complete with its corrupt incompetent and utterly useless MDC/CCC side kick.

MDC/CCC leaders boast of "fighting in the trenches" and Zimbabweans believe the lie. The people have risked all to elect these MDC/CCC leaders into office to deliver the necessary democratic changes to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. Zanu PF rigged 2023 elections precisely because MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform.

Why Zimbabweans have failed to ask MDC/CCC leader what they have been doing in the bloody trenches for 24 years beggars belief!!!!!!!

Mnangagwa keep wittering about the economy growing. How is it possible that a nation whose unemployment rate remained a dizzying 80% plus for the last two decades is growing? Zimbabwe has haemorrhaged skilled man-power like nobody’s business. So who is there in the country creating the reported wealth and rebuilding the collapsed infrastructure? This is just a lie!

Vision 2030 is a mirage, in this case a mirage by star-light! If the truth be told many people have long come to the realisation that the Zimbabwe economy in in total meltdown, that Zanu PF misrule is the root cause of the meltdown and, most piteous and frustratingly, there is nothing they can about it as long as Zanu PF remains in power. And Zanu PF has rigged elections to stay in power ever since the nation’s independence in 1980, 44 years ago.

Still, it must be said Zanu PF’s iron grip on power would have ended by now if MDC/CCC leaders had not sold out and failed to implement the requisite democratic changes especially during the 2008 to 2013 GNU when they had the golden opportunity to do so. Ever since the GNU debacle MDC/CCC leaders have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.

As long as Zanu PF continues to rig elections and get away with it, Zimbabwe will continue to sink deeper and deeper into this hell-on-earth we find ourselves in.

We cannot stop Zanu PF rigging 2028 elections. We cannot stop Chamisa and company participating in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for a few gravy train seats. What we can do is make sure Zanu PF does not get political legitimacy by stopping the braindead Chamisa supporters participating in the flawed elections in their millions by opening their eyes to the sheer folly of participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating their own suffering!
