Of course vision 2030 is bullshit! The Zimbabwe economic meltdown has continued after the 2017 military coup because corruption is even than it was before the coup. All economic indicates point to economic meltdown but some people choose to see only what the regime tell them - vision 2030, a mirage.
Unemployment is a staggering 80% plus and the regime keeps wittering about “Nyika inovakwa nevene vayo!” So the 20% are the ones rebuilding the nation from the poor failed state to upper middle income. They have six years to complete the work and yet the reality is there is no sign of any recovery the last 7 years after the 2017 coup!
Zimbabwe's economy remains among the least free globally, according to the Fraser Institute's newly released Economic Freedom Country Audit Zimbabwe (EFCAZ). The Canadian public policy think-tank, renowned for its Economic Freedom of the World annual survey, ranked Zimbabwe 172nd out of 165 countries worldwide, with a poor economic freedom score of 38.2. The country was also placed 46th out of 54 nations in sub-Saharan Africa.
Speaking at the launch of the country's audit in Harare on Wednesday, Fred McMahon, director of the Fraser Institute's Economic Freedom of the World program, highlighted the challenges Zimbabwe faces, including high inflation, volatile policies, restrictive licensing, and judicial inefficiencies. These factors have created a "repressed" state of the economy, according to the audit.
McMahon explained that countries with higher levels of economic freedom consistently experience higher rates of economic growth and a significant reduction in poverty. He emphasized that when individuals have the freedom to innovate, trade, and invest, the entire economy benefits.
"Economic freedom is simply the ability of individuals and families to make their own economic decisions free of interference from government," McMahon said, stressing that countries with a freer economic environment foster job creation, wealth generation, and overall prosperity.
Why a whole nation has been conned into believing this Vision 2030 mirage, it started soon after independence with “gutsa ruzhinji” - mass prosperity - when all signs showed the nation was sinking deeper and deeper into poverty speaks volumes of just how naive Zimbabweans are! Zimbabwe is a failed state and we deserve the dictatorship and all the suffering and misery it has brought upon us all.

ReplyDeleteYes Mnangagwa's vision 2030 is "bulls***t" because the Zimbabwe economic meltdown has continued since the 2017 military coup. The war veterans are not only ones who had suffering the ill effects of the meltdown, millions of ordinary Zimbabweans are living in abject poverty too.
Zimbabwe is a failed state and the solution is that we cure ourselves of the 44 years of rigged elections and bad governance. The common ground for all Zimbabweans today is to implement reforms and hold free and fair elections.
All attempts by war veterans to surgically separate themselves from Zanu PF leaders is bulls***t since war veterans have played a major role in imposing the Zanu PF dictatorship these last 44 years.
All future leaders MUST win majority votes in a free, fair and credible elections, no one has the divine right to govern. No more rigged election bulls***t!
"We defeated Zanu-PF twice, but they refused to go," Chamisa said, alluding to his previous electoral bids. He added that he hoped Mnangagwa, who was present at the event, would reflect on Botswana's example and realize that "politicians take turns to rule."
ReplyDeleteZanu PF has blatantly rigged elections ever since the country's independence in 1980. Chamisa and his MDC/CCC friends have had many opportunities to implement democratic reforms and stop Zanu PF rigging elections but wasted them all. They failed to implement even one token reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU because Mugabe bribed them with he trappings of high office.
Ever since the GNU debacle MDC/CCC leaders have participated in flawed elections knowing fully well that doing so would give Zanu PF legitimacy. They have participated out of greed. Chamisa conned his supporters to do the same with one idiotic lie after another.
Zanu PF has never “lost” an election in which the party had carte blanche powers to rig the elections. Chamisa was lying when he claimed to have strategies to win rigged elections.
Last year he said he had “plugged all the vote rigging loop holes. #Godisinit!” He did not even have a verified voters’ roll, failed to deploy election agents at all Polling Stations although he had received funding for it, etc., etc. Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 2023 elections!
Chamisa did not stop Zanu PF rigging the elections and SADC, AU and all other election observers agree Zanu PF rigged the 2023 elections. Indeed, even Chamisa himself has admitted Zanu PF rigged the 2023 elections. And so his claim of “defeating” Zanu PF is just nonsense. Zanu PF did not rig the 2023 elections and, show how, LOSE it too!
Chamisa is gearing to participate in the flawed 2028 elections, con his followers with yet more idiotic lies of having winning rigged elections strategies. All they will do is give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuate the nation’s suffering.
Having a corrupt and incompetent opposition is now as much an obstacle to meaningful change for the nation as having the corrupt and tyrannical ruling party Zanu PF. Having a naive and gullible electorate who are easily conned by the leaders has only made things worse for the nation.
Stopping Chamisa and company participating in 2028 elections to extend Zanu PF rule is the nation’s greatest challenge.

ReplyDelete"Botswana is a signal" for change in Zimbabwe in 2028. Yeah right! Just as Zambia was a signal for change in 2023! Zanu PF has rigged elections for 44 years now and would not have done so for the last 24 years without the help of MDC/CCC leaders who have conned the people to believe the Zanu PF dictatorship was ending when in reality the opposition was the one keeping the regime in power.
MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reform in 24 years, including 5 in the GNU. Chamisa and company have lied about plugging vote rigging loop hole to allow Zanu PF to continue to enjoy the carte blanche powers to blatantly rig the elections. Why millions of Zimbabweans continue to believe Chamisa and company are still fighting to end the Zanu PF dictatorship beggars belief!
We really have one of the most ignorant and gullible electorate in the world. And we deserve to be a failed state and to suffer!
