"CCC is not perfect but doing best in fighting Zanu PF." Will never make a silk purse out sow's ear! W Mukori

In the good old days of Short Wave Radio, you could always tell if someone knew how to tune the radio or not. Smart Alec would waste time and the battery fidgeting with the “Fine” tune knob when it is the “Course” tune knob one should use first and then “Fine” tune!

“Yes!

We will never have a perfect opposition

What is clear is that CCC and Chamisa are doing their part in fighting a vicious dictatorship

Instead of having many analysts we must have more activists

All sectors must rise and demand justice than waiting to criticise one man,” wrote Peter Gift Mutasa.

Only some one who has no clue what the primary task of MDC/CCC is supposed to be would say that!

The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect MDC/CCC leaders into office on the understanding they would bring about the democratic changes to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. Zanu PF has just blatantly rigged the 23 August 2023 elections precisely because MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one token reform in 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU.

Worse still, they have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of selfish greed.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Every Zimbabwean who has bothered to follow the country’s history should know this.

Peter Gift Mutasa, assuming it is the same who wrote the comment above, is  a “Political Commentator: Chairperson Crisis in Zimbabwe Coalition: General Secretary: Zim Banks & Allied Workers Union and Former President of Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions”, according to his Twitter introductions. He should know MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent.

In a leaked cable back to Washington the USA ambassador to Zimbabwe 2004 to 2007, Chris Dell, said the then MDC leader, Richard Morgan Tsvangirai, was a “flawed and indecisive character who would be an albatross round the nation’s neck if he ever got into power.”

The ambassador could have said the same thing about all the other MDC leaders. And Alas, they have been in power and have become the mile-stone round the nation’s neck dragging us all into the crushing abyss.

Zimbabwe is a failed state because Zimbabweans have developed a knack seeing what they want to see even in the face of a mountain of evidence proving the contrary. Nelson Chamisa and his CCC friends are corrupt, breathtakingly incompetent and they are the mile-stone round the nation’s neck dragging us all into the crushing abyss. People Peter Mutasa are refusing to see that reality for whatever idiotic reasons.

Of course, it is idiotic and insane to be hoping against reason for CCC winning rigged elections after 43 years of the zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections. We are being bullied and bamboozled into believe we can make a silk purse out of sow’s ear!

“Chamisa and CCC are not the perfect opposition. Still they are doing their part in fighting a vicious dictatorship!” They not only failed to implement even one token reform in 23 years but are they ones perpetuating the dictatorship out of greed. What else must they do to prove they are not up to the task, for Pete’s sake!

“In yo little brain do You honestly think they did not do so behind the scenes and were shot down🤷‍♂️reason why Mugabe made a surprise proclamation of national elections when everyone least expected it.

We thought the gun will go for 10yrs by then we would have been able to be in a better position as a nation.”

The GNU washed to last 18 months and with political will and vision ALL the democratic reforms would have been implemented in that time.

Mugabe bribed the MDC leaders and they took their eyes off the ball. You will never admit MDC leaders are corrupt and incompetent. Never ever! It is not in the nature of a village idiot to admit someone he/she considers an infallible demigod is wrong much less corrupt!

The tragedy for Zimbabwe is that as a nation we have more than our fair share of mentally challenged individuals and to crown it all they have the vote. It is like giving a loaded gun to a monkey.

We are a failed state because we have village idiots who are electing and keeping buffoons, on both sides of the political divide in power! You cannot reason with a village idiot.

If the GNU had lasted 10 years “the nation would have been in a better place!” Yeah right! MDC leaders failed to submit even one reform proposal in 5 years because they are corrupt and incompetent and not because they ran out of time! God! How is it possible that any modern human can be so shallow, thick and slow? I bet most apeman were not this dumb!

  2. Of course Chamisa did not close any vote rigging loop holes. We did not even have a verified voters' roll for Pete's sake. Only apeman believed the lie!

  3. MDC/CCC have not only failed to implement even one reform in 23 years they have been participating in flawed elections to help perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship. It is therefore nauseating to hear anyone say "CCC is fighting to end the dictatorship!"

For Pete's sake! What does Chamisa and company have to do to finally convince some people that they are corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless! And meanwhile the country will continue to sink deeper and deeper into the abyss.

“So, instead of argument by methodology or by evidence or facts, the scourge of argument by conclusion based on the political affiliation or disposition of the arguer has taken root in public discourse in Zimbabwe.

This scourge and its consequential mediocrity that now pervades Zimbabwean society, need to be confronted head on in the national interest, without fear or favour and without any apologies.

That said, is the sensational allegation that Tshabangu "fraudulently edited a constitution of another party," and falsely presented it in court as evidence of the CCC constitution supported or corroborated by any independent and verifiable evidence?

The answer is an emphatic, no.

It turns out that the allegedly "edited" aspects of the constitution which have visible fingerprints of the "MDC" – whether left there by omission or commission – are in fact important and useful because they happen to unequivocally explain the paternity of CCC as an offspring of the MDC-A, itself an offspring of the MDC, which was led by Nelson Chamisa between 1 April 2020 and 22 January 2022.”

One does not need to be a lawyer, just common sense, to realise that the chaos resulting from the recalls was of Chamisa’s own making. Yes Zanu PF has taken full advantage of the situation but it would be naive to expect the lawless regime not to.

Chamisa blaming Zanu PF for the Tshabangu fiasco is as idiotic as Zanu PF blaming the West for Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown. What is disappointing is that there are many Zimbabweans out there who have swallowed the feeble narratives offered by the two parties. The a significant number of the Zimbabwe electorate has no common sense is a worrying reality because a functioning and healthy democracy demands an informed and diligent electorate, not a feeble minded one!

"Moreso, because Tshabangu himself has submitted his own version of the constitution to the courts. Otherwise, without submitting what they hold to be the authentic constitution, the dismissal of Tshabangu's version will be immaterial.

So, at the moment, there seems to be a dispute of facts created by these two versions of what should be the same document. The courts must then deal with that. While the need to quickly produce and deposit the constitution to bolster the CCC case is understandable, the motive is folly. A constitution is an important document that must not be a product of a reactionary knee-jerk motive in service to a temporary problem.

If the document is authentic, it clearly has many lacunas and contradictions. It is also very vague in many parts and has questionable legitimation processes.

That is not good for a constitution because it was created to deal with Tshabangu. Once the Tshabangu issue is addressed, the party will be stuck with that constitution, which is not suited for or designed to address the many other substantive and long-term political issues. In other words, it solves one problem and creates 10 others.

    Solving the wrong problem

The key to finding a lasting solution within the party lies in diagnosing and solving the right problem. As Robin Sharma counsels,

"One of the fastest ways to find the solution to an issue or challenge you are facing is to ask the right questions".

I have submitted in previous instalments that I see CCC having two mutually reinforcing problems at hand. One is political

and substantive, about the internal elite discord, contradictions, and the absence of legitimation processes for the movement.

The other is procedural and transitory. It is about the amorphous character of the CCC, which does not have substantive structures and, until now, a constitution. The purported one has not yet been acknowledged by the organisation publicly, though.

The convergence of these two inadequacies has brought CCC to the precipice it finds itself now. Therefore, the response to these questions must be more long-term beyond just the immediate headache of stopping recalls.

It must be about regaining legal and political control of the party and galvanising elite consensus and legitimation. The party's survival in the long game means deftly addressing these two questions.”

In short CCC is just blundering from pillar to post but then no one should be surprised; CCC have already proven, notably during the GNU, that they are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent.

Way back in 2004/5 the then USA ambassador to Zimbabwe, Chris Dell, said Morgan Tsvangirai was “a flawed and indecisive character who would become an albatross round the nation’s neck if ever got into power.”

He could have said the same of all the MDC leaders because during the GNU they failed to implement even one token reform in five years. Not even one! And ever since the GNU they have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the dictatorship and dragging the nation deeper and deeper into the abyss.

Chamisa and company’s corrupt and breathtaking incompetence has continued to this day. If it is not one thing it is half a dozen of the other!

The really big surprise is that, in their ignorance, the people of Zimbabwe continue to entrust these corrupt and incompetent CCC leaders with the nation’s destiny and their very lives. Ignorance is a curse worse than death!

The real tragedy is that there are many Zimbabweans in denial that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent and will never implement the necessary reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship. Zanu PF has just blatantly rigged the 2023 elections and yet some one claims "CCC are doing the best fighting Zanu PF"! Of course, it is insane and some one has to stop this madness.

It is one thing to say this is “repeating the same old false narrative devoid of facts.” Where is the falsehood in what I have just said? Zimbabwe is a failed state, that speaks for itself!

“Zimbabwe's problems are a manifestation of a number of challenges caused by both internal and external forces. No two ways about it. However, we have learnt and the world has learnt. We can build our country by being responsible and accepting the blame. The challenges that destroyed Zimbabwe are:

    1. foreign forces are playing a leading role in destroying that failed, the economy of Zimbabwe through zidera and smart sanctions by the west. Influencing or restricting their multinationals not to cooperate in making the economy of Zimbabwe work again, threatening any nation not to do business with sanctioned entities. When America cough, the world sneezes.

    2. Toxic politics where people were coached to hate their own country by being negative towards anything done by government.

    3. Doing the wrong things and then blame either the government or the economy. We ignore the consequences of black-market, negative posts on social media that are perpetuating evil frequency in the air bordering Zimbabwe, stealing and laziness and corruption by civil servants and the private sector

    4. The necessary but chaotic land reform. It had to be done but we had to prepare and plan for the shocks. Train the people before giving them the land.

    5. Esap. That bad and evil advice from IMF. It was jealousy from the west.

    6. Debts let by Smith the government is still paying.

    7. People were taught to expect everything and anything from the government as a result of which they are immobilised to be innovative and play their roles.”

The number one reason Zimbabwe is a failed state is that we are corrupt, incompetent and do not even have the common sense to govern ourselves! Zanu PF thugs have never cared about freedom, liberty and human rights of the ordinary people all they ever wanted is absolute power and the wealth and influence to brought.

And we, the ordinary people have proven to be dumb and slow to end the dictatorship. 43 years of the dictatorship has left the country in economic ruins and political paralysis - there are no competent leaders or electorate to get us out of this mess. We are stuck!

    ReplyDelete
  8. True but it is also imperative on us Zimbabweans to look ourselves in the mirror and admit when we have been our own worst enemy. SADC did force Mugabe to accept the 2008 to 2013 GNU and its primary purpose was to implement the democratic reforms designed to stop Zanu PF rigging elections. Not even one reform was implemented in five years and we have not only done nothing about it but we are even calling those responsible for selling out on reforms "Change Champions!"

    ReplyDelete
  9. Ignorance is a curse worse than death for, in their ignorance, many are their own worst enemy. Many Zimbabweans have been clamouring for democratic change since the late 1990s; clamouring for democratic change and democracy is the easy bit, the devil is always in the detail. Many have no clue what the democratic changes are much less how they were to be implemented, even to this day with the benefit of hindsight. And so not even one democratic reform has been implemented and the nation is drifting deeper and deeper into the crushing abyss.

Nothing exemplifies Zimbabwean's ignorance than their failure to produce a democratic opposition party. Chamisa claims that CCC is a democratic party and yet he has pointedly refused accept even the most basic tenets of a democratic club. What is more the wildebeest herd in the ignorance have defended Chamisa and still believe CCC is a democratic party.

UNTIL WE BANISH IGNORANCE ZIMBABWE IS DOOMED FOR CRUSHING ABYSS!

“Zimbabwe is sinking because of Zanu so what is it that you want Chamisa to do. You are Zanu just do the right thing for Christ's sake and save our country.”

Ignorance and stupidity is a curse worse than death because only the ignorant and stupid are know to be their own worst enemy. It is bad enough to be ignorant but combine that with stupidity for the stupid think they know and so never learn even from their own mistakes and so a doomed to repeat the same foolishness over and over again, paying dearly with each pass, to the end of their days.

Yes Zimbabwe is sinking because of Zanu PF. What I want Chamisa to do is to implement the democratic reforms to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections and dragging the nation deeper and deeper into the abyss.

Zanu PF will never reform itself out of office, this is clear to everyone with any common sense. Most Zimbabweans came to that conclusion in the late 1990s and have even since risked life and limb to elect MDC/CCC leaders on the understanding they would bring about the democratic changes the nation was dying for.

And so it is shocking that anyone should be asking “So what do you want Chamisa to do?” This is the very epitome of the ignorance and stupidity that has made Zimbabwe a failed state.

The nation has risked all to elect MDC/CCC leaders and after 23 years you still have no idea what you wanted them to do! To implement the democratic reforms and stop Zanu PF rigging the elections, of course!

After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, Chamisa and company have not only failed to implement even one reform but worst of all they have given up on reforms and have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the dictatorship out of selfish greed. And to hide their greed CCC have conned you to participate in the flawed elections claiming they have plugged all vote rigging loop holes and, in your ignorance and intrepid stupidity, have believed the lies even after 43 years of Zanu PF rigging elections!

“You are Zanu PF!” Since when has Zanu PF ever demanded reforms and free and fair elections? Fcuk me! You really are dumb and beyond the pale!

No wonder Zimbabwe is a failed state, we just have more than our fair share of ignorant and stupidity; so dumb, thick and slow their brains have ossified into fat.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Worse still we cannot blame Zanu PF for failing to implement the reforms during the GNU when it was MDC who sold out! If you are given a get out of jail card you do not blame the thick walls or the razor fence for your own failure to use the card! Indeed only the ignorant and myopic would be fooled by that hen’s teeth feeble excuse. Alas! they are many who have been conned again and again by such idiotic fables.

The trouble with shallow minded people like you is you do not listen and are irrational. The people of Zimbabwe have risked all to elect MDC/CCC leaders these last 23 years to bring about the democratic changes necessary to ensure free, fair and credible elections in Zimbabwe. The people KNEW that Zanu PF created the dictatorship to retain its iron grip on power and the regime will never reform itself out of office.

So the issue we are dealing with here is why has MDC/CCC not only failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU; and, worst of all, participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed?

Instead of answering the question you, in your intrepid stupidity, keep asking foolish questions like why did ZEC fail to produce a verified voters’ roll. Of course, this is a stupid question because we have already said Zanu PF will not reform itself out of office. You are asking stupid questions, tying yourself in knots, because you do not want to admit that MDC/CCC leaders sold out.

  13. In 1969 when the late Julius Nyerere was told the Americans had landed the man on the moon in 1969 he reportedly said "And we are still struggling to cross the road!" In Zimbabwe many of the roads we inherited from the whites have since disappeared and some are now part of the open sewage system. And to crown it all, Zanu PF has just passed a law saying we all love our country and never ever talk of the failed infrastructure, corruption, tyranny, etc.

“Honestly, I am trying my best to think of what could be described as ‘denigrating one’s country’.
However, I and millions other Zimbabweans out there have never encountered any such instances.
So, where do those in the ruling elite get all this nonsense about some amongst us ‘criticizing their own country’?
I am one of those accused of this ‘sin’, and so have a pretty good idea of the answer.
For those who follow my articles and interviews with various media organizations, I have no fear of telling truth to power.”

Zimbabwe is a failed state, our economy is in ruins millions of people are living in abject poverty. Zanu Pf has just blatantly rigged the 2023 elections confirming, not that anyone with half a brain ever doubted, the country's position as a pariah state. The ruling elite are sick and tired of being reminded they are corrupt, incompetent and responsible for the economic and political mess and so they have passed a law forcing all Zimbabweans to love their country and lie about the good things happening in the country or say nothing!

The law will only serve to stifle all meaningful debate and democratic discourse even further dragging the nation deeper and deeper into this hell-on-earth. Cry the beloved country!

No one would deny that Zimbabwe is in a mess and what Mayor Coltart is describing here about Bulawayo is true and representative sample of what is happening in the whole country. The real issue Mayor Coltart and his CCC colleague should be address is why they have failed to implement even one token reform to stop Zanu PF rigging elections these last 23 years including 5 in the GNU.

Because like it or not nothing of any substance will ever be accomplished until we deal with this curse of rigged elections. Coltart and his CCC have been participating in these flawed elections knowing fully well this would only give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the dictatorship and he knows that!

Zimbabwe is a failed state and to blame Zanu PF for it, especial ever since the 2008 GNU is both dishonest and disingenuous and will therefore not help us get out of the mess. We must deal with CCC greed because it is the one that has helped keep Zanu PF in power since 2008!

Cut out the apple sauce Mayor Coltart and finally answer this simple question; when are going to stop participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed?

“Who else has done better than MDC/CCC as an opposition, you have no right to critizise them as long as you are not as big the size of CCC,
You can rather take your critic ideas to them to grow better,.”

So CCC are not accountable to the people because t5hey have "done better and are bigger" than anyone else! So what is it exactly they have done.

Let me remind you that the people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect MDC/CCC leaders these last 23 years on the promise they would implement the democratic changes to end the Zanu PF dictatorship. Zanu PF blatantly rigged the 23 August 2023 elections. So I ask you more specifically why has MDC/CCC failed to implement any reforms to stop the rigged elections?

You have completely missed the point! All you have done is confirm that ignorance and stupidity is indeed Zimbabwe’s greatest curse.

The country’s stuck with this vote rigging Zanu PF dictatorship because the opposition party entrusted the task of implementing the reforms was bribed into forgetting about the reforms. instead of focusing on the task of finding the competent men and women to implement the reforms you are wittering some nonsense about being bitter with CCC and accusing me of being a zanu PF “enabler”. How does demanding the implementation of reforms to ensure free and fair elections help Zanu PF?

Of course, Zimbabwe has more than her fair share of ignorant and stupid people, this is the main reason why we are a failed state!
