Biti, maybe you have nothing to do with Tshabangu recalls; you sold out big time on reforms. W Mukori

Tendai Biti has come out fighting to clear his name!

“Zimbabwe is at a crossroads. The weight of a stolen election, unprecedented corruption and the looting of public assets sits heavy on the shoulders of Zimbabweans who want and deserve better,” he wrote in a recent statement in the media.

“The environment in the world right now is toxic. The wars in Ukraine and the Middle East have pushed Zimbabwe to the bottom of the world's attention calendar. This has allowed the vampire state here to carry out brazen election fraud. Not satisfied, the regime is now engaged in a malicious push to weaken our struggle, the progressive movement, through the illegal recall of elected public representatives.

“It is therefore shocking to hear, and read, a daily stream of abusive, malicious and defamatory claims that Professor Welshman Ncube and I are colluding with the regime and its proxies to append a struggle that has occupied and consumed all our adult lives.

“I don't believe in recalls. I have never been part of recalls. I will never be part of recalls.”

Well in the absence of any other evidence to prove his connivence with Sengezo Tshabangu. I would give him the benefit of the doubt and say he is not involved.

Tendai Biti should have stopped right there with, “I will never be part of recalls.” Alas! he got big headed in claiming he is a democrat who has never worked for Zanu PF.

“I am a democrat who believes in constitutionalism, the rule of law, transparency, openness and collective leadership. I can never compromise on these core values. No dispute nor differences is ever sufficient to place one at the service of Zanu-PF,” continued Biti.

“Fellow Zimbabweans, all this chatter and actions by the illegitimate regime and its proxies are an engineered distraction from the main prize: to free ourselves from this rapacious dictatorship.

“It has been a long and tortuous road; and victory is closer than the distance

back to where we started.”

The truth is the fight to implement the democratic reforms to restore all the people’s freedoms and rights including the right to free, fair and credible elections and the right to life has lost direction during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and thereafter.

Lest Mr Biti and his MDC/CCC colleagues should forget; the people of Zimbabwe have risked all from the wrath of Zanu PF to elect them into power for one primary purpose: to bring about the democratic changes, reforms, the nation was dying for. After 23 years, including 5 in the GNU, Tendai Biti and company have failed to implement even one token reform. Not even one!

It is no secret that the late dictator, Robert Mugabe, bribed the MDC leaders with the trappings of high office, the ministerial limos (Mr Biti was Minister of Finance in the GNU), the very generous salaries and allowances, a US$4 million mansion for Tsvangirai, etc. To show their appreciation the MDC leaders kicked the reforms out of the window.

Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” (MDC leaders have learned to enjoy the gravy train good-life; they will never rock the boat!) boasted Zanu PF cronies when asked why MDC leaders were not implementing any reforms during the GNU.

Worse still, MDC/CCC have been participating in the flawed elections knowing fully well Zanu PF was rigging and that doing so would only help to give Zanu PF legitimacy. Mr Biti and a few other MDC leaders like David Coltart were aware of the sheer futility of participating in these flawed elections.

“Look, you can't keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections. So it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimising these sham elections which don't deliver.

“This country will go through a serious economic crisis in 2020 caused by Zanu PF. And yet, this is the only country where a government doesn't perform, it is encouraged by a super majority in parliament,” you, Tendai Biti, told Isaac Mugabi in an interview in 2015.

“So you can't continue subjecting Zimbabweans to processes where their hopes just get crushed.”

No doubt, you tried to talk your fellow MDC leaders into stop participating in flawed elections. When your arguments fell on deaf ears, you decided to join them for your share of the few gravy train seats Zanu PF was offering as bait.

You knew participating crushed the nation’s hopes for democratic change, to end the curse of rigging elections, for good governance and, most notable of all, hope to end the tragic human suffering  brought on by the failed state. You knew all this and did not care as long as you secure for yourself one of the coveted gravy train seats.

How can you say you are a democrat when you have failed to implement even one token democratic reform to dismantle the dictatorship even when you have the golden opportunity to do so during the 2008 to 2013 GNU?

You say you have never working for Zanu PF. So whose interests do you think you served by selling out on reforms and by participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. And what, if I may ask, do you think Zanu PF has been showering you and your MDC/CCC friends all these bribes for?

Of course, you, Mr Tendai Biti, knew that CCC was not going to win big the 2023 elections. Chamisa’s claim of having plugged all the vote rigging loop-hole was just hot air to hide the real reasons why you lot were participating - greed and breath-taking incompetence.

“I am a democrat who has never sold out the struggle to Zanu-PF!” It is bad enough you are a sell out and has never owned up for your treasonous betrayals. Don’t dare insult our intelligence by masquerading a principled democrat, when you are clearly not!

Mr Tendai Biti, you may have nothing to do with Sengezo Tshabangu and the string of CCC elected officials who have been recalled since the August 2023 elections. However, don’t deceive the nation; you are not a democrat and have sold out to Zanu PF by failing to implement the democratic change.

I rest my case!

  1. Some Gutu West CCC election agents in many wards, such as Ward 1, Ward 6, and Ward 20, ran away from their polling stations around 6:45 pm after some Zanu PF members intimidated and threatened them, according to Mr. Mupfudze.

So Chamisa's claim of plugging all vote rigging loop-holes was just hot air!

This nonsense of claiming all manner of strategies of winning rigged elections to hide the real reason for participating in flawed election - greed - must be exposed and denounced! How long will some people continue to be conned into participating in flawed elections especially after 43 years Zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections.

“We have an institutional crisis in Zimbabwe. Politics is now a lifetime career. So social darwinism prevails during elections in order to survival. I don't see a lasting solution to rigged elections if the revolutionary generation is still surviving.”

If you believe you can win rigged elections because Chamisa “plugged all the vote rigging loop-holes” then you do not need to implement any democratic reforms. The mistake start with those who are conned into believing we don’t need reforms especially after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections!

  3. “PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has clipped Finance minister Mthuli Ncube's wings by removing the Zimbabwe Investment Development Agency  (ZIDA) Act from his ministry.

This comes amid fears that Mnangagwa is planning to move ZIDA to his office as part of efforts to consolidate power and ensure he has total control of the country's key economic pillars. The President, using his special Presidential powers, recently created the controversial Mutapa Investment Fund which houses over 20 State enterprises and insulated it against public scrutiny.

In a statutory instrument 224 of 2023, Mnangagwa said that ZIDA Act was no longer under the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development.”

He has absolute power and still he craves for more!

Just because I dare to defy the wildebeest herd and dismissed Chamisa's idiotic claims of pugging all vote rigging holes when he could not even deploy election agents at all the polling stations?

I am not immortal and know that one day I will die your wishing me died or not. And so I do not concern myself with such trivial matters over which I have no control. But you being a village idiot turned howling monkey you are obsessed with trivial matters.

And so I do not concern myself with such trivial matters as your wishes. But you being a village idiot turned howling monkey you are obsessed with trivial matters, defending the indefensible and, your hot favourite, howling.

Zimbabwe is a failed state and one of the main reason why is we have more than our fair share of village idiots like you and they have the vote and, in their stupidity, are the one keeping the buffoons in power! You cannot not reason with a village idiot, his brain has ossified into fat and impermeable to reason and facts.

Chamisa conned the nation into participating in flawed elections promising CCC will win big because he had plugged all the vote rigging loop-holes when he could not even deploy election agents at all polling stations. "God is in it!" he said. Zanu PF rigged the August elections and now Chamisa must account for all the lying!

Your argument that Chamisa is only accountable to CCC members or those who have formed their own political party is a nonsense only an idiot like you would come up with. If you hold public office you are accountable to the public regardless of whether they are in your party or not. A notion many village idiots have failed to comprehend and so must be hammered into their thick head. I have a sludge hammer!

Tshabangu recalls more CCC elected official including Amos Chibaya!

There is no doubt in my mind that Zanu PF taking full advantage of all this chaos in CCC and may even be the one aiding and abetting it all. Still, what cannot be denied is that Chamisa's stubborn refusal to have a democratic constitution complete with structure and openly elected CCC officials have; his so called strategic ambiguity, has made all this chaos possible. The chaos and confusion will continue until the root cause, the strategic ambiguity nonsense, is resolved.

The real tragedy here is that the people of Zimbabwe have risked all from the vengeful Zanu PF to elect MDC/CCC leaders into power on the promise they will deliver the democratic changes to end the Zanu PF dictatorship, the nation has dying for. After 23 years MDC/CCC have failed to deliver even one reform. Not one! MDC/CCC leaders will never deliver any democratic changes; all they have ever done is blunder from pillar to post, these recalls are just the latest blunderings. The sooner the nation wakes up to this reality the better for us all!!

“Is there any hope that the current politicians or political leaders in Zimbabwe will solve our national problems?

    1. If yes, when and how?
    2. If not, why?

    A Potera.”

The answer is no! The present political system is so toxic that it is impossible to produce quality leaders in both Zanu PF and the opposition. Impossible! Zimbabwe is now a sewage pond, you do not get quality fish from a sewage pond. We need to implement the democratic reforms, drain the sewage swamp and refill it wit clean water.

We had the golden opportunity to implement the reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Alas! both Zanu PF and MDC leaders were so corrupt and incompetent they failed to get even one token reform implemented. Just because Zanu PF and MDC were not up to the task does not mean no one else can implement the reforms. They are not rocket science! We need the reforms implemented now more urgently than ever.

  9. Nelson Chamisa is the modern day Biblical Joab clinging onto the mythical "God is in it!" as Joab clung on to the horns of the Alter of the Lord to avoid accountability and justice. Chamisa and company have failed to implement even one reform in 23 years, including 5 in the GNU and have been participating flawed elections out of greed. He must account for this!

So Chamisa is the only real man and yet he has failed to implement even one token reform in 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU. One is given to believe you don’t even know what the reforms are much less how they are implemented. You are just singing Chamisa’s praises because you consider him a demigod who can do no wrong.

The truth is Chamisa is not just a fallible mortal but one who has already proven to be corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless. Even now, with all the benefit of hindsight, they are many Zimbabweans who still regard these sell-outs as heroes per excellence, no wonder Zimbabwe is a failed state.

  11. One of the dead-give away of a country in which no investor would want to invest their money and talent in is one in which the ruling elite are not accountable to anyone. By blatantly rigging the August 2023 elections Zanu PF confirmed that Zimbabwe is a pariah state and investors are shrewd lot to miss the danger warning signs.

God does not do for mankind what mankind can do for himself. To expect to win elections so flawed there is no verified voters' roll, Zanu PF had the freedom to tamper with result because CCC had no election agents in many Polling Stations, etc.; is naive, to say the least! And to believe the nonsense of winning rigged elections is insane especially after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections.

“#Godwillbeinit!” Yeah right! That is your feeble excuse for insanity! No wonder Zimbabwe is a failed state, with such deep rooted nationwide insanity; there is no hope of us ever getting out of this mess. None!

“Same here & CCC knows that too but they don't want to deal with it they think waiting till 2028 will change their fortunes. Meanwhile ED building one party so they think. Me thinks ED building a dynasty an empire for his family alone. Now is time to act be it forming a 3rd main party to help CCC which is struggling or demonstration coz you being abducted maybe 3 main figures a week😭.”

The present political system is rotten to the core because it has stifled all meaningful debate and democratic competition for so long there are no quality leaders in Zanu PF or in the opposition camp. Indeed, environment has been so stifling that most of the electorate is all but brain-dead.

Zimbabwe’s body politics is a sewage pond and you will not catch any quality fish and you not want to eat the catfish and edible frogs from this pond - no amount of seasoning can kill the stench!

What Zimbabwe needs is to implement all the democratic reforms, the equivalent of draining the pond and refill it with clean water, and the five years or so implementing the reforms will give the electorate a chance to be educated and to once again believe they are have a say in the governance of the country. From this ground up, a healthy and democratic nation can be built and thrive!

The country had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Alas MDC leaders were not up to the task to implement the reforms and so the opportunity was wasted just as Zanu PF had wasted the opportunity to do the same in 1980 when the country gained its independence.

The tragedy is very few Zimbabweans have learnt the lesson of 1980 and 2008 and so there is a chance the nation will waste another opportunity for a clean start even if one such chance was created! Those who fail to learn from the past are doomed to repeat the same mistakes over and over again - that’s us!

Zanu PF has rigged elections for 43 years and counting and the nation is a failed state because of it. What have you done about it? I believe the only way to end this curse is implementing the democratic reforms and so I will repeat the need for reforms before elections a 1000 times every day until this is done if necessary!

I am open to suggestions for alternative solution to ending the curse of rigged elections. What I will dismiss with contempt is calls to stop demanding reforms because someone is sick and tired of hearing about reforms. Of course, it is idiotic to be frothing over repeated calls for reforms and yet be indifferent to 43 years of rigged elections and the tragic suffering it has brought! I have no patience with such village idiots!

So now it is my fault that MDC leaders failed to implement even one reform during the GNU? Your stupidity never seize to amaze me. SADC leaders, notably Minister Lindiwe Zulu, nagged MDC leaders to implement the reforms throughout the GNU and they were ignored.

You are just fishing for an excuse to blame everyone else for MDC's leaders' failure to implement reforms. You will never accept that MDC leaders sold out no matter what, this is the trouble with village idiots like you who do not care about facts and logic. You have to defend MDC leaders no matter what!

  16. Rumour has it that tomorrow 13 November 2023, a group of SADC Elders will be in Zimbabwe to kick start the negotiation for the way forward for Zimbabwe following the rejection by the region body of the 23 August elections. In short SADC are denying Zanu PF political legitimacy!

Great news! Granting Zanu PF legitimacy was simply wrong and unacceptable.

What is the way forward? The only real option is a National Transition authority of technocrats in which both Zanu PF and CCC play no part!

The threat of Zanu PF will making the country ungovernable is real and must be dealt with boldly and decisively. Zanu PF must not be allowed to hold the nation to ransom.

“The roots of the MDC, now CCC, can be traced back to the aspirations of former white commercial farmers who sought a political force capable of challenging ZanuPF, with the fervent hope that such an opposition party could facilitate the reclamation of their confiscated farmlands. Following its inception, the leadership swiftly forged alliances with Western nations, effectively designating them as their de facto sponsors and handlers from the very outset.

Endorsing the colonial oppressors, who had inflicted untold horrors upon their own people, forcibly seized their lands, and exploited their resources, demanded an unparalleled degree of self-serving indifference and apathy toward the suffering of the majority. This entrenched selfishness and cruelty have defined the operational culture within the opposition and left an indelible stain on the movement.”

The dog to dog fighting in the opposition camp is no worse than that in the ruling party the only reason why both Mnangagwa and Mugabe have managed to keep some order is by bribing the followers using the patronage system. Mugabe inherited the seven fat cows and seven fat earns of corn from Ian Smith which explains why he had total control of the party. Mnangagwa inherited the proverbial one skin and bones cow and so got enough loot to bribe the greedy and wasteful party faithful he has had to dig deep - corruption is now off the scale.

Tsvangirai and Chamisa have never been in power and so had no loot to give away. It is not surprising the opposition has been breaking away and subdividing like amoeba as the power ebbed from one leader to another without anyone able to bankroll to secure their position. Indeed Zanu PF leaders have no doubt used some of their ill-gotten wealth to fuel opposition infighting!

“I am afraid Chamisa is doomed by Biti and Sengezo no hope.”

Chamisa is corrupt and incompetent and hence the reason why MDC/CCC has blundered from pillar to post and accomplished nothing of note these last 23 years. Yes the infighting in the CCC camp is utterly pointless but it is to be expected. They all have the propensity to make a mountain out of a mole-hill; if it is not one thing, it is half a dozen of the other, all equally dumb and stupid!

The real tragedy here is that the country has been drifting deeper and deeper into this man-made hell-on-earth under Zanu PF corrupt and tyrannical misrule. The people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb to elect the MDC/CCC leaders into power on the understanding they will implement the democratic changes to end the Zanu PF dictatorship. Most MDC/CCC leaders have no clue what the reforms are much less how they are implemented. Fortunately for them, povo are none the wiser and so the leaders’ selling out on reforms has gone unnoticed, even with the benefit of hindsight the people still have no clue what the reforms are!

Indeed Chamisa and company have been selling the nation the idiotic nonsense that we do not need democratic reforms to be implemented because the party has devised winning in rigged elections strategies. All hot air, of course.

The ancient Greeks were right, democracy to work the people must be informed and diligent. Zimbabweans are ignorant and naive and they have elected a corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless opposition opposition to implement reforms to end a ruthless and entrenched dictatorship . In short, this is mission impossible!

If you were thinking of going back to Zimbabwe, go back to visit and not settle! You should consider yourself luck to have been born during the country’s golden age what you see now is the normal!

Here we go! You have once again jumped the gun! People are not following Chamisa because he has “brilliant ideas and tactics”. The people do not have the intellect to discern such niceties. They call Chamisa Change Champion and yet no one, not even the real intellectuals can name even one token change he has brought in 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU; because he has implemented none.

Even if there was the Albert Einstein of politics in Zimbabwe today, he would lose the elections to a buffoon like Mnangagwa or Chamisa. It takes intellect to appreciate quality, the Zimbabwe electorate do not have that intellect. It is not so much the Einstein of politics or new political parties that Zimbabwe needs to get out of this hell-hole, it is an informed electorate that can think and will appreciate quality when they see it!

As long as Zimbabweans remain ignorant and gullible, obsessed about the messenger to avoid having to deal with ideas in the message; the country will remain a failed state. Guaranteed!

Here we go! So I cannot hold Chamisa to account because I have not held ED to account? Has it ever occurred to you that one can cross examine the one, on his own, without having to always compare and contrast one with the other.

The people of Zimbabwe have risked all to elect MDC/CCC leaders to implement the democratic reforms to end the Zanu PF dictatorship, for example. After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, the people are rightly disappointed that MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one token reform. No one expected Zanu PF to implement the reforms and so it is nonsensical to be insisting in on comparing the two parties!

Just because you do not have the intellect to separate Chamisa from ED does not mean everyone else must be like you. “You are right - it follows without any question.

Boycott would have produced a different scenario obviously not one as strong as the one at play

Zanu further complicated the case by allowing Mutsvangwa and Chinamasa threaten SADC officials - Zambia with death - placing themselves mightier than the SADC institution - kudheerera chaiko. This galvanised SADC members to take stern measures - backing off would have sent the wrong impression about SADC - ‘The tail wagging the Dog’ belief worldwide.”

MDC/CCC participated in flawed elections in 2013 and 2018 and Zanu PF got legitimacy on both occasions because SADC and AU observers rubber stamp the the election process and granted Zanu PF political legitimacy. This time CCC participated in the flawed elections and accepted their share of the gravy train seats as usual, even after SADC and AU election observers dismissed the election process as a farce.

If SADC leaders should decide to deny Zanu PF political legitimacy this time then credit for that must go to the AU and SADC election observers who, for once, decided to report on the election process based on the facts existing on the ground and to those SADC leaders who stood firm and refused to sweep the report under the carpet.

To argue that CCC had planned to implement not even one token reform when the leaders had the golden opportunity to do so during the GNU and have been participating in flawed elections ever since to ensure SADC and AU have the evidence of flawed and illegal process is far fetched and pathetic, to say the least!

MDC/CCC sold out big time by failing to implement the democratic reforms and have been participating in flawed elections out of greed. Period!

“My question still remains unanswered. How do we come to the conclusion that a boycott would not have produced the desired outcome.

Participation was a big gamble given SADC track record. Are we then saying Chamisa was gambling and he was not sure of the outcome from SADC?”

We have been over this a thousand times. We are now behaving like the EU which used to ask member country to hold a referendum over a question over and over again until the people gave the answer Brussel wanted. In our case nothing, absolutely nothing is settled until some people get the answer they want to hear.

When was it easiest for MDC/CCC to success boycott the elections; in 2013, 2018 or 2023?

The parallel question for SADC leaders would be: When would it have been easier for SADC to deny Zanu PF legitimacy if MDC/CCC had boycotted the elections: 2013, 2018 or 2023?

The answer to both questions is 2013 because it was none other than SADC leaders themselves who want the 2013 elections postponed!

Indeed, the boycott would have been unnecessary if MDC had implemented the democratic reforms during the GNU! This too has been said a thousand times.

Why did MDC leaders failed to implement even one token reform in 5 fives of the GNU? Mugabe bribed them with the trapping of high office and they forgot about the reforms. Some people cannot swallow this truth and so have recycled the same issue over and over again hoping to get a different answer. Nothing new there, after all they have been participating in rigged elections for 43 years and counting hoping for a big opposition win!
