MDC/CCC is Zanu PF team B in all but name, the evidence, the V11 forms and there for all to see. W Mukori

"You say CCC is Zanu PF team B in all but name, playing for team A to win and have legitimacy. Where are the V11s?" This was a challenge I would not turn down.

Here are the three cases proving beyond all reasonable doubt that since the 2008 to 2013 GNU MDC/CCC leaders have been running with the povo hare in broad day whilst stealthily hunting with the Zanu PF hounds.

  1. a) MDC were elected on the ticket to implement democratic changes to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections and their best chance ever came at the end o   the 2008 elections following the blatant cheating and wanton violence by Zanu PF led by none other than Robert Mugabe's number one henchman Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa. The buffoon has even boasted of it as if it was his “finest hour”.

Both SADC and AU, for the first time since the country’s independence and repeated rigged elections, refused to endorse Zanu PF victory and deny the regime political legitimacy. Zanu PF was forced to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement giving birth to the 2008 to 2013 GNU. The primary purpose of the GNU was to implement the democratic reforms to stop  repeat of the blatant cheating and wanton violence.

Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends failed to implement even one token reform in five years of the GNU. The truth was revealed by Patrick Chinamasa then Zanu PF Minister of Justice and Parliamentary Affairs in the GNU. He revealed it to justify why Zanu PF was not going to postpone the 2013 elections as SADC leaders had demanded at the extraordinary SADC Summit in Maputo Mozambique in June 2013.

  1. b) Tendai Biti, David Coltart and one or two other MDC leaders have since admitted the sheer folly of participating in the flawed elections. MDC T faction even made a party resolution “No reforms, no elections!” But greed had the better of them and so they were all back participating in the flawed elections, “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw,” as Coltart aptly put.

Chamisa insisted in participating in the 2018 elections giving such idiotic excuses as “MDC A has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging elections!” Of course, he was lying.

The Constitutional Court Challenge of the presidential election results was idiotic to say the least. Chamisa’s legal team had questioned how it was possible that 12 polling stations in ZEC’s affidavit had two or more results which were identical in every regard; each candidate had polled the same, same spoilt votes and most notable of all Mnangagwa had a commanding lead in all these cases.

ZEC’s legal team admitted this was indeed truth and there were more than 12 polling stations. “The Court must ask behavioural Scientist!” the lawyer argued.

The Judge asked Chamisa’s team why did they not ask to have the sealed ballot boxes from these 12 Polling Stations opened, after all this is the reason why the sealed ballot boxes are kept until all legal challenges of elections result are settled.

The obvious explanation for these identical results is duplicate entries to boost Mnangagwa’s vote count. Entering a V11 result twice or thrice is easy but reproducing an identical Polling Station complete with the sealed ballot boxes, manning staff and voters would be impossible. And so demanding to have the sealed ballot boxes of these duplicate/triplicate entries opened would have settled this matter beyond all doubt.

It was not ZEC or anyone else who did not want the sealed ballot boxes opened - it was Chamisa’s legal team! “We did not want to drink from the poisoned well!” Chamisa’s lawyer argued. It was not Chamisa and his team who would have been drinking from the poisoned well but ZEC and Mnangagwa himself - the failure to produce the duplicate Polling Station would have proven the elections were rigged. Chamisa and company were protecting Zanu PF team A!

  1. c) Chamisa and CCC were hell bent on participating in 2023 elections giving the same feeble excuses to justify why they are participating in flawed elections “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw!”

It was not only Zanu PF but CCC too were surprised when both SADC and AU election observers condemned the 2023 elections as a farce. Still CCC leaders took up their gravy train seats arguing wherever the party had won - these were “liberated zones”. Liberated zones my foot! Ever since the 2008 election fiasco Zanu PF learned to get political legitimacy the opposition must be enticed to participate in any elections no matter how flawed; giving away a few gravy train seats was a small price to pay.

Indeed, in 2018 Mnangagwa increased the opposition bait by creating POLAD to reward all the losing presidential candidates. All they had to do was to publicly announce the elections were free, fair and credible and that Mnangagwa was the legitimate president!

Of course, Margaret Dongo is right the more rational thing for CCC leaders to have done in the face of the damning SADC and AU election reports was to refuse to take up their gravy train seats but, once again, greed had the better of them.

Of course, MDC/CCC has been Zanu PF team B in but name since 2008, at least; and they have, so far, they have managed to make sure team A win and has political legitimacy. I rest my case.

Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken”

Robert Frost’s “The Road Not Taken”

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

The courage to take a different path particularly when one knows this is the right path even when it is the least popular.

USA Ambassador calls on Zimbabwe to implement democratic reforms. All stakeholders have clogged ears, they can't hear. W Mukori

US Ambassador Pamela Tremont, recently appointed to Zimbabwe, has urged the Zimbabwean government to implement reforms and enhance transparency to spur economic growth. Addressing the media in Harare, Tremont emphasized that broad-based economic prosperity requires strong democratic institutions, good public health, and regional security,” reported Bulawayo 24.

“Tremont stressed the importance of upholding the rule of law and respecting constitutional rights, which she described as essential for Zimbabweans' future prosperity. She noted that the US supports democratic principles that align with Zimbabwe's constitution, which was fought for during the liberation struggle.”

Implementing democratic reforms have been mission impossible for three reasons:

  1. 1) Zanu PF does not want to lose its iron grip on political power and one sure way of retaining that power is by returning its carte blanche dictatorial powers including the power to rig elections, keep the rural voters poor and subservient to the regime.

Zanu PF will never ever reform itself out of office. Never ever!

  1. 2) By the late 1990s people of Zimbabwe finally came to a consensus decision to risk livelihoods, limbs and life (over 500 were murdered in the 2008 elections alone) at the hands of Zanu PF to elect opposition leaders whose primary task would be to implement the democratic changes, reforms, to end Zanu PF’s dictatorial powers. Morgan Tsvangirai and his friends launched their MDC party in 1999 promising to deliver the democratic changes the nation was dying for.

Last year Zanu PF not only blatantly rigged the elections but got away with it because MDC/CCC have not only failed to implement even one token reform in 24 years but have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. Chamisa and company have given up on implementing reforms and have been conning the people to participate in the flawed elections on the oxymoronic claim the opposition have “Winning In Rigged Elections Strategies” (WIRES). Last year Chamisa claimed that he had “plugged all the vote rigging loop holes! #Godisinit!”

Just as Zanu PF will never ever reform itself out of office, Chamisa and company will never ever implement an democratic reforms. They failed to implement even one token reform during the GNU when they had all the trump cards, it is naive to expect they to do so now when they are in Zanu PF’s deep pockets. MDC/CCC are Zanu PF team B in all but name.

  1. 3) Chamisa was able to con Zimbabweans to believe in the oxymoronic WIRES with ease time and time again because, alas, the overwhelming majority of our people are ignorant, naive and gullible. Democracy demands that the people must be educated, knowledgeable and diligent; Zimbabweans are the exact opposite.

  1. 4) US Ambassador Pamela Tremont’s call for Zimbabwe to implement democratic reforms will fall on deaf ears because neither Zanu PF, the opposition nor the ordinary Zimbabweans will hear for reasons given above. The Ambassador would derive some comfort in knowing that she is not the only one calling for reforms; this is a well trodden path. SADC and AU condemned 2023 elections as flawed and illegal; the former would have denied Zanu PF political legitimacy as happened in 2008 but could not given the fact that millions of Zimbabweans participated in the flawed elections.

Still Ambassador Tremont, Dr Nevers Mumba chair of SADC Election Observer Mission, etc. must continue to call for reforms in the hope that some Zimbabweans will finally hear and demand the reforms or, at the very least, stop the insanity of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy.

"2030 vaMnangagwa vanenge vachitonga" Zanu PD MPs are stupid but not that stupid - they know Vision 2030 is a mirage. W Mukori

There is a story of how the Soviet Union leaders gave an 11-minute thunderous standing ovation to one of Joseph Stalin's speeches. Their fear of the paranoid and vengeful dictator was so much so it was unwise to be the first to stop clapping!

A Soviet Union style cloud of fear is hanging over Zimbabwe.

“There is a growing movement within Zanu-PF structures and affiliates across Zimbabwe calling for President Mnangagwa to continue leading the country beyond 2028 to achieve Vision 2030. Despite Mnangagwa's indication that he will not continue past 2028 in accordance with the Constitution, the slogan "2030 vanenge vachipo" (Mnangagwa will still be in power in 2030) is gaining traction,” reported Bulawayo 24.

“At a recent Zanu-PF caucus in Parliament, legislators chanted "2030 vaMnangagwa vanenge vachitonga" (Mnangagwa will still be ruling in 2030). Similar sentiments have been echoed in District Coordinating Committee (DCC) meetings nationwide, where Mnangagwa's leadership is credited with transforming Zimbabwe, stabilizing its currency, and restoring its status as the breadbasket of Africa.”

The irony is Mnangagwa should not even be in office as we speak! He rigged the 2023 elections and both SADC and AU condemned the flawed elections process.

“Conclusion 13.3

The SEOM (SADC Election Observer Mission) noted that, as detailed in sections 6 and 7 of this report, some aspects of the Harmonised Elections fell short of the requirements of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, the Electoral Act, and the SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections (2021),” stated the SEOM report.

The regional grouping has accepted the damning SEOM report but have decided to take no further action against Zanu PF largely because the country’s opposition had done nothing to stop the rigging even when they had the opportunity to do so and they participated in the flawed elections out of greed. Nelson Chamisa had lied about plugging all vote rigging loop holes to con millions of Zimbabweans into participating.

It is not that these Zanu PF supporters believe the Vision 2030 lie of Zimbabwe rising from the ashes of economic ruins, like the Phoenix. They are stupid but not that stupid; they know Mnangagwa has failed to tame  mismanagement, corruption and lawlessness, the root causes of the economic meltdown.

Indeed these three evils have become rampant in the last seven years since the 2017 military coup as exemplified by the wholesale looting and the rigged elections.

“At a recent Zanu-PF caucus in Parliament, legislators chanted "2030 vaMnangagwa vanenge vachitonga" (Mnangagwa will still be ruling in 2030).” Of course, all the party’s legislators joined in; who would dare do otherwise!

49% of our people are living in abject poverty today and come 2030 the number would have increased significantly. We all know that Vision 2030 is a mirage but few, if any will dare say it. We have become a nation ruled by fear and ignorance instead of rule of law and reason.

"Wisdom is a gift from God!" says Chamisa. "I have plugged vote rigging loop holes. #Godisinit!" Was that wisdom or a lie! W Mukori

One of my favourite stories from the Bible is the parable of the prodigal son. Here is a story teaching us three things:

  • sin of arrogance and greed

  • the importance of admitting one’s weaknesses, humility and repentance

  • the father’s forgiveness and joy at the repentant sinner

For someone who calls himself a pastor, a man of God, and always quoting from the Bible, I must admit I am disappointed with Nelson Chamisa. I think he is a con man masquerading as a man of God!

“THE SOURCE OF ALL WISDOM.. Wisdom is a gift from God.

‘For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.’ Proverbs 2:6.

Blessed Sabbath #Godisinit!” posted Nelson Chamisa on his X handle.

Lest anyone out there has forgotten, this time last year as the fever of the 2023 election grew Chamisa said repeatedly. “CCC will win big because I have plugged all the Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes. #Godisinit!”

We all know Zanu PF blatantly rigged those elections and both SADC and AU election observer teams have confirmed the election process was flawed and illegal. So flawed the process failed to meet Zimbabwe’s own electoral law requirements.

Chamisa failed to deploy electoral agents at all the polling stations even thou he had the funds to do so, for Pete’s sake! He pocketed the donated money!

It is not as if Chamisa and his CCC friends did not know that with no reforms implemented Zanu PF would rig the elections ant that the consequence of participating regardless would be to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the people’s suffering under the dictatorship . They have known all this since the 2013 elections!

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

So they have been participating in elections, “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw” out of greed. They knew Zanu PF would give away a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate NO MATTER WHAT.

Chamisa insisted God was in the plan to participate in the 2023 elections. Surely God was NOT is a plan whose purpose was gratify the insatiable greed for the trappings of power for Chamisa and a few of his cronies at the expense of the millions now living in abject poverty under this Zanu PF dictatorship.

Chamisa has never ever admitted that he lied about plugging all the vote rigging loop holes, as far as I know. Worst of all, he has not only failed to acknowledge his wrong doing and repented; he is gearing to repeat the same blatant lies to con Zimbabweans to participate in the 2028.

Zimbabwe’s prodigal son is back home instead of asking for forgiveness he is demanding that he must have his brother’s share of the wealth! He is quoting Proverbs 2 verse 6 to back his demands! There is no wisdom in that nor is God in it!

The threat of Chamisa conning millions of Zimbabweans into participating in flawed 2028 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating the dictatorship is real and it is incumbent on every thinking Zimbabwean to stop him taking advantage of people foolish enough to believe his lies.

Yes, we have some of the most ignorant, naive and gullible people on earth but that is no excuse for people like Chamisa to take advantage of these people, much less do so in the name of God!

Auditor General report on the looting of vehicles in government.

New Auditor-General report shows how car deals are bleeding Govt

By newZWire -July 12, 2024

Looking for one sure way to make money from the Government? Get a tender, get paid, and just don’t bother supplying the goods.

The Office of the Auditor-General (OAG) has just tabled the 2023 audit report to Parliament, and it shows how the Government paid large sums of money for everything from cars, laptops to furniture, never got the deliveries, and did little to recover the money or the goods.

Here, we look at some of the cases inside in the OAG’s new report.

GD6s for Treasury

In December 2022, the Ministry of Finance ordered seven Toyota Hilux GD6 vehicles from Tsapo, a car dealership. According to the OAG: “The seven vehicles had not been delivered at the time of concluding the audit in September 2023.”

How did the Ministry respond? Officials told the auditors: “An email was sent on March 20, 2023 after three physical visits were made to enquire about the delivery. Thereafter, a formal letter of follow up was sent on March 23, 2023 as the supplier indicated that they were experiencing supply challenges on the production line. A final demand letter was then sent on April 13, 2023 and the supplier responded that delivery will be done in two weeks’ time.”

By May this year, the OAG reports, the cars were still to come.

Cruisers for Ministry of Mines

In September last year, the Ministry of Mines ordered a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado VXL and Toyota Land Cruiser 79 for US$193,000 from Burnett Motors. The Toyota Land Cruiser Prado VXL was delivered in April this year, but without the papers needed for change of ownership. The Toyota Land Cruiser 79 was still to come by May this year.

Cars for Home Affairs

In 2022, the OAG reported that the Ministry ordered 35 cars from Faramatsi Motors for ZWL$182,621,960. Government was to pay half of the money before delivery in four weeks. The Ministry paid ZWL$175,000,000 before supply. Faramatsi delivered 11 cars, leaving 24 outstanding in May this year.

The Ministry blames currency depreciation. It says when the order was made, the cost was equivalent to US$1.8 million. The payments that government made in 2022 were worth US$888,874, enough for just 17 cars. The Ministry says Faramatsi Motors has now delivered 15 cars and two are left.

The pricey missing laptops

Home Affairs paid US$422,487 for 26 printers, 67 laptops, 55 desktop computers and 22 printers. By May, 22 of the printers had not come.

In 2022, the Ministry also paid US$474,750 to Vital Computers for 150 i7 laptops, to be supplied in two weeks. By May this year, only 26 laptops had come. The OAG points out that Government ended up paying US$3,165 per laptop, when quotes elsewhere showed prices of between US$807 and US$960.

Moving furniture

In 2023, the Department of Immigration paid US$439,585 to Aganang Furniture for office furniture. By May, no furniture had been delivered. This was despite the contract demanding delivery within two weeks.

Captive contracts

Government paid US$8.1 million for 129 cars for the Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services (ZPCS), but didn’t properly book this in the accounts. “Documents relating to the actual amount that was paid were not availed for my inspection. In addition, the actual amount paid was not disclosed in the Appropriation Account.”

Attorney General motors

Government in 2023 bought cars for the Attorney-General’s office; seven from Byword Trading for US$374,430 and 11 from Paza Buster for US$533,500. The cars should have been delivered in 6-8 weeks. However, by the time of the audit this year, the three Toyota Corollas and four Toyota Hilux 2.8 GD6 from Byword hadn’t come. The four Isuzu D-Max vehicles from Paza Buster were also yet to arrive.

Master of the Hilux

The Master of the High Court bought four Toyota Hilux cars from Croco Motors in 2022 for US$252,657. Agreed delivery was 40 days, but just one had come by June 2023.

‘Sport utility’ vehicles

Ministry of Sport bought 17 Nissan Navara cars in December 2022 for ZWL$393 171 724 from AMTEC. Only seven were delivered in 2023, and the rest had still not arrived by May this year. “In addition, out of those seven vehicles delivered, four of them were yet to be registered in the name of the Ministry.”

Mnangagwa seizing farms from Mugabe family to consolidate his own family holdings. Standard.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa's government has reportedly repossessed extensive land holdings belonging to former first lady Grace Mugabe, her daughter Bona, and other relatives, in a move believed to be a targeted assault orchestrated by the late president's successor.

Sources close to the former first family claim that the land seizures are part of a calculated campaign to undermine and diminish their influence within Zimbabwean political circles.

The whispers of a calculated onslaught against the former first family are growing louder, with The Standard reporting that vast swathes of land belonging to Grace Mugabe, her daughter Bona, and other close relatives have been repossessed by the government.

This land grab, reminiscent of the tumultuous land reform program that defined Mugabe's rule, has seen the former first lady's expansive Mazowe citrus farm, home to an orphanage and the Amai Mugabe School, handed over to Home Affairs Minister Kazembe Kazembe.

Kazembe, it is whispered, has grand plans for the property, envisioning a bustling mall in place of the once-thriving farm.

The land grab extends beyond Grace Mugabe's holdings. Bona, her only daughter, has lost much of her farm in Mashonaland Central to the widow of the late Zanla commander Josiah Magama Tongagara, Angeline.

"Tongogara's wife is now working with the son of the white former farmer, Lance Kennedy to utilise the land," a Ministry of Lands official revealed, adding, "She took centre pivots that were bought by Bona."

The Mugabe family, it seems, is not the only target. Grace's niece, Florence Zinyemba, and her husband Flavian, who served as matron of honour at Mugabe and Grace's wedding in 1996, have been evicted from their farmhouse, Protea Farm, to make way for Auxilia Mnangagwa's Angel of Hope Foundation.

Mnangagwa's daughter, Tariro, has also benefited from this land grab, receiving a portion of Kevin Mugabe's Audley End Farm.

"She had been offered that piece of land many years ago," an official in the Lands ministry said, hinting at a long-standing desire to claim the property.

Robert Zhuwao, another nephew of Mugabe, has also been stripped of his land, losing Subdivision 4 of Cockington Farm to Sports Minister Kirsty Coventry after losing a High Court challenge against his removal.

These land seizures, which have become a recurring theme in the Mnangagwa administration, are not merely isolated incidents. They are part of a broader pattern of retribution and consolidation of power, with Mnangagwa's loyalists reaping the rewards of their allegiance.

The Mugabe family, however, sees these actions as a continuation of the hostilities that began with the 2017 coup that ousted Mugabe from power. Grace Mugabe, who openly opposed Mnangagwa's presidential ambitions, was a vocal critic of his leadership, leading a public campaign that was ultimately thwarted by the military intervention.

"The targeted seizures of land belonging to the late long-time ruler's relatives showed there were still hostilities between Mnangagwa and the former first lady," a Mugabe family member said, echoing the sentiment of many within the family.

The government, however, maintains a stony silence on the matter.

Nick Mangwana, the government spokesperson, refused to comment on the displacement of Mugabe's family and relatives from their properties.

"I cannot comment on that. I am not aware," Mangwana told The Standard. "I would refer you to the Minister of State for Mashonaland Central. But if you were going to ask me on a policy issue, I would say if it was a land invasion, they should call the police."

Lands Minister Anxious Masuka, when contacted for comment, was unavailable.

The land grab, reminiscent of the controversial land reform program implemented by Mugabe, raises concerns about the future of Zimbabwe's agricultural sector.

In 2019, Mnangagwa declared that an audit had revealed Grace Mugabe owned 16 farms, and he has repeatedly warned that those holding large tracts of land will be dispossessed in line with the government's "one family one farm" policy.

The government's actions, however, are not without consequence. The land reform program, which displaced over 4 000 white Zimbabweans from their farms, has left the country saddled with a US$3.5 billion debt to the former farmers for developments on their farms.

Even the ruling elite who thought they now owned the land are suddenly realising that, actually they do not. If the direction of the wind should change, those benefiting from the on going farm seizure will find themselves the ones being booted off the farms too.

What is most outrageous is how that whilst the ruling elite have 16 farms with the combined acreage the size of Lesotho, they stubbornly deny the ordinary people title deed to even one acre on which their mud hut stand! All for selfish political reasons - they want the people to remain beholden to the party for the sake of political control.
