Former President of Botswana Ian Khama has called on the Southern African Development Community SADC to expel Zimbabwe if proven to have meddled with member states' elections.
It is bad enough that Zanu PF has repeatedly rigged Zimbabwe elections and the regional body has done nothing about it except that one occasion in 2008. SADC must not allow Zanu PF to brazenly interfere in another country’s elections and get away with it.
Leaders like Emmerson Mnangagwa believe the rules and laws apply to everyone else and not to them. They are above the law especially when the application of the said law should threaten their iron grip on absolute power.
Of course, this is nonsense. No one, absolutely, no one is above the law!
After 44 years of enjoying absolute power Mnangagwa and company are addicted to power; the very idea of giving it up is unthinkable. Beside, Mnangagwa and many of his Zanu PF cronies amassed their wealth illegally. They cannot produce any tax returns to account for their wealth.
Worst of all, many have skeletons in the closets, basements, mine-shafts, everywhere from the Gukurahundi massacre in the 1980s to the more recent politically motivated murders of the 2008 electoral coup and 2017 military coup. No wonder Mnangagwa and company have risked all to rig elections and retain power at all cost, as the country’s checked political history shows.
SADC did force Zanu PF to accept many electoral reforms resulting in the country holding the nearest thing to free, fair and credible elections in March 2008. When Mnangagwa realised that the party was heading for a crashing electoral defeat, he and his Zanu PF cronies staged the 2008 electoral coup.
SADC and AU were outraged by the blatant cheating in counting March 2008 votes and the wanton violence in the run-off that followed they refused to give Zanu PF political legitimacy. Mugabe was outraged and threatened to walk out of SADC.
It should be noted here that Zimbabwe was booted out of the Commonwealth for failing to hold free and fair elections in 2003. The prospect of being booted out of SADC and possible AU too, was a bridge too far. Mugabe relented and signed the 2008 Global Political Agreement and share political power with Morgan Tsvangirai in the 2008 to 2013 GNU.
The primary purpose of the GNU was to implement the democratic reforms to end Zanu PF’s carte blanche dictatorial power including powers to rig elections. It is a great pity that not even one token democratic reform was implemented. Not even one!
Mugabe bribed Tsvangirai and company with the trappings of high office; the E-Class Mercedes Benz ministerial limos, the very generous salaries and allowances, a US$ 4 million mansion for Tsvangirai himself, etc., etc. And in return the MDC leaders kicked all the reforms into the devil-thorn Cactus thicket!
“Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” (MDC leaders have learned to enjoy the gravy train good-life! {They will never rock the boat!}) boasted Zanu PF cronies during the GNU when asked why MDC leaders were not implementing the reforms.
Even since the GNU debacle, MDC/CCC leaders have participated in flawed elections knowing fully well that participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy for the same reasons they kicked reforms into the Cactus - incompetence and greed.
Mnangagwa blatantly rigged 2023 elections. As much as SADC and AU election observer missions condemned the election process as flawed and illegal they could not deny Zanu PF political legitimacy because the opposition and millions of their supporters participated in the flawed elections knowing doing so would give Zanu PF legitimacy.
When ANC lost its majority in the May 2024 elections that set alarm bells ringing in Zanu PF ruling elite’s heads. The trend of ruling parties, especially Zanu PF’s sister liberation movements, losing power was set a dangerous precedence - Zanu PF would be next. This is the reason why Zanu PF has been emboldened to export its vote rigging expertise to help keep ruling parties in power at all cost.
Hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans voted in Mozambique’s 9 October 2024 elections to prop up FRELIMO’s votes. There is overwhelming video evidence to prove this. SADC and the AU cannot turn a blind eye to this. It is bad enough Zanu PF rigging Zimbabwe’s elections but brazenly rigging another nation’s elections is totally unacceptable. Zanu PF has crossed the double red lines and it must be punished!

ReplyDelete"As UZA we have our own way of doing things don't come here and vomit what you don't know ... and don't compare us with any other party in Zimbabwe . I guess you forgot...... we Are UNITED ZIMBABWE ALLIANCE....... and we know what we are doing. Stop these nonsense if you don't know anything about UZA..................last, we allow people to ask questions."
Did you know that Zanu PF was going to rig the 2023 elections? Or is it that you do not know the elections were rigged? Or you think that is a top UZA party secret. Nhamo inenharo! “We know what we are doing!”
@ Home Haven
ReplyDelete“Yes l know that Zanu rigged election when we participate so now we have a strategy..... so what's your story?”
Did you know that without even one token reform in place, Zanu PF was going to rig the 2023 elections just as readily as it rigged past elections? Did you also know that by participating you would give vote rigging Zanu PF?
No doubt, you had a strategy for winning rigged 2023 elections; it clearly did not work. Now you want the nation to believe you have a water-tight plan to win rigged 2028 elections.
Has it ever occurred to you that Zanu PF will never ever hold free and fair elections as long as has the green light to rig elections because the party knows there are millions who will participate in the elections to give the party legitimacy no what how flawed and illegal the process becomes. The cup-cakes have been brain washed to believe free and fair elections are a privilege and so they have to do their best to win rigged elections.
The tragedy for Zimbabwe is the country has millions of these brain-dead cup-cakes and they have the vote! After 44 years of rigged elections we are no where near ending this insanity because the cup-cakes are still adamant they have “strategies for winning RIGGED elections”!
@ Vums
ReplyDelete“They were rigged so what, they is evidence and what can you personally do with that. Are you associated with any organasaruon trying to work and bringing a change to the electoral crisis. Otherwise shut up.”
The elections were rigged, Chamisa and company knew the elections would be rigged and they conned the millions of the supporters to participate knowing fully well that doing so would give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the nation’s suffering. Are you going to ask, “perpetuating the nation’s suffering so what?”
Only a nincompoop like you would think there is some “organisation” out there that is going to bring change in Zimbabwe. There is no such thing! If millions of brain dead nincompoops like you keep participating in flawed elections because you believed idiotic lies of winning rigged elections then Zimbabwe will continue to sink into the abyss.
You want me to shut up because you cannot bear to hear the truth that you are a nincompoop with the IQ of a slug and hence the reason why both Zanu PF and MDC/CCC leaders have conned you again and again to do foolish things like participating in flawed elections to perpetuate your own suffering. I do not need permission from a slug to do anything!
@ Vums
ReplyDelete"What are you doing about it?"
Hammering some common sense into the nincompoops like you that it is sheer folly giving up your right to free and fair elections because you have been conned to believe you can win RIGGED elections. After 44 years of rigged elections one would think the penny has finally dropped. Alas! It has not dropped.
The worsening economic situation has made the nincompoops panic and it is near impossible to reason with a panic nincompoop. He will tell you "Shut up!" And so to knock some sense into these village idiots the kid-glove are off. I am using a sludge hammer to knock sense into your empty head. Watch this space!
@ Muzhuzha
ReplyDelete“I think you are being too harsh...your last statement, 'only an idiot would doubt that...' is a bit too harsh.
What if those who doubt the notion and don't agree with your view have reasonable facts to support their stance. I think you should allow ideas to be discussed and debated in a smooth and polite way. Allow those with different opinions to also share their views without calling them names etc. That's political debate and engagement..”
Do you know the difference between facts and opinions?
There is overwhelming evidence to prove that the earth is NOT the centre of the solar system, for example, and so “only an idiot would doubt that”!
Zanu PF rigged 2023 elections and again “only an idiot would doubt that”!
Chamisa lied about plugging all the vote rigging loop holes to con his brain-dead followers to participate in the flawed elections and yet again “only an idiot would doubt that”!
Zimbabwe is a failed state millions of our people are living in abject poverty because we have failed to hold free and fair elections for 44 years. We need to stop this insanity and tragic human suffering NOW. These are the historic realities and we must resolve them.
We cannot afford to waste time debating historic facts with nincompoops who hardly know their left hand from the right! Need to hammer some sense into millions of brain-dead so dumb and stupid to believe they can win RIGGED elections. I have the right tool for the job - a sludge hammer.
The quality of Zimbabwe’s education is now so poor the country is chaining out hundreds of thousands of graduates every year and yet many of them can hardly read and write! We are a nation obsessed about quantity at the expense of quality.
ReplyDeleteHere we go again, Zimbabwe is a failed state whose economy has been in decline ever since the nation's independence in 1980, long before the 2001 sanctions were imposed. The root causes of the decline are gross mismanagement and rampant corruption. The regime has used sanctions as a smoke screen behind which to hide the real causes.
ReplyDeleteThe same people demanding the lifting of the sanctions were demanding the imposition of the sanctions on the white regime of Ian Smith. They knew those UN sanctions would affect the lives of ordinary people just as they do so now.
The UN sanctions were imposed to pressure Smith to respect the freedoms and rights of ordinary blacks just as the current sanctions are to pressure Zanu PF to hold free and fair elections. The suffering of the ordinary people was considered necessary for the long term gains. The same is true now!
The sheer mediocracy of the opposition in the handling of Zimbabwe's political crisis has allowed the Zanu PF dictatorship to drag on and on. The opposition keep complaining that Zanu PF rigs elections and yet they are the ones who are conning their supporters to participate in the flawed elections under the pretext they can win RIGGED elections!
https://bulawayo24.com/index-id-opinion-sc-columnist-byo-248170.html
ReplyDeleteThere is irrefutable evidence proving that Zanu PF interfered in Mozambique's elections. The regime crossed the DOUBLE RED lines and SADC must do something to punish the regime or it will lose the little credibility it has (if it still has any given the body's blundering incompetency).
@ Watchdog
ReplyDeleteWhat was the excuse for the millions of opposition supporters participating in flawed elections because they believed Chamisa’s idiotic lie that he had plugged all the vote rigging loop holes. For the record Chamisa is on sabbatical and will con his supporters to participate in flawed 2028 elections! What would my or anyone else being in Zimbabwe have done to stop the millions participating in flawed elections?
The solution is not all those in the diaspora must return to Zimbabwe, indeed many of the idiots who believed Chamisa are in the diaspora!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDsejISAmFQ
ReplyDeleteZanu PF continues to use sanctions as the smoke screen cover to hide the real reasons why the Zimbabwe economy is in total meltdown. SADC leaders are about to impose some form of punishment on the regime for not only rigging Zimbabwe elections, as West have done, but worst of all for rigging Mozambique elections. Will Zanu PF use the SADC sanctions as the smoke screen too!
@ Jemwa
ReplyDelete“So you are saying God has no power. Never compare God to a political party. Read the book of King's to understand God and leadership.”
Chamisa told the people “I have plugged all the vote rigging loopholes. #Godisinit!” Millions believed God was in it and participated in the flawed 2023 elections. Zanu PF blatantly rigged the elections - proof that God was NOT in it. Chamisa lied!
The real shock here is that there are millions of Zimbabweans out there who accept that Zanu PF rigged the elections and yet refuse to accept that Chamisa lied to them about plugging vote rigging loop holes much less that God was in it. It is a shock to the rational person but not to the village idiot; holding contradictory views comes naturally to the latter. After all there is nothing else in the idiot’s head other than chaos and confusion.
The people had many golden opportunities to end the Zanu PF dictatorship and, in their stupidity, they have not only wasted them but do not even have the common sense to realise their own folly. Zimbabweans can end the dictatorship in 2028 if they do not fall for the madness of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy because they believed the idiotic lie of winning RIGGED elections.
ReplyDeleteHow anyone, much less a whole nation, can be conned to give up their right to free and fair elections because some upstart told them they can win RIGGED elections, especially after 44 years of rigged elections, beggars belief. Those who are dumb and stupid not to think deserve to suffer.
Praying for Mnangagwa’s death will bring no meaningful change because Chiwenga or some other tyrant waiting in the wings will take his place! It is not the individual dictator the nation should remove but to dismantle the dictatorship itself. And it is within our mortal power to dismantle the Zanu PF dictatorship, it is not rocket science.
This nonsense of evoking God, #Godisinit!, etc. must stop. God does not do for mankind what mankind can do for himself. And God does not involved himself in idiotic winning in rigged elections schemes, those who choose to believe these stupid lies are just that - stupid.
Beyond logistical missteps, some analysts have suggested that regional leaders may be withholding support for Mnangagwa's leadership due to concerns over his handling of domestic and regional matters. "The fact that only four leaders attended from a 16-member group is dismal. It may indicate that fellow heads of state have no confidence in Mnangagwa's leadership," Mbofana said.
ReplyDeleteThis skepticism may also stem from Mnangagwa's controversial actions in Mozambique, where he prematurely congratulated Frelimo's Daniel Chapo on winning the presidential elections. His early endorsement came before the final results had been announced, raising questions about Zimbabwe's influence and impartiality in the region. The unrest that followed the disputed election results, which saw at least 30 people killed in clashes between Mozambican forces and civilians, further complicated Mnangagwa's position as Sadc chairperson.
It should be remember here that not only did Mnangagwa prematurely congratulated FRELIMO’s presidential candidate but that the poorly attended Wednesday 20 November 2024 Extraordinary Summit chaired by Mnangagwa endorse the flawed elections. The Summit went even further and denounced post-election violence and called the protestors “terrorists”.
Meanwhile, two days after the Harare Summit, FRELIMO government send out an invitation to the opposition leader for talks. The Maputo government was acknowledging the reality on the ground - that the elections were indeed flawed.
So whilst FRELIMO was reaching out to the opposition with the olive-branch, the sabre rattling Mnangagwa, was calling for the protests to be violently quashed the same way he quashed August 2018 post election protests!
The people of Mozambique must admit the nation has a serious problem of failing to hold free and fair elections and deal with it once and once for all. They could do with SADC’s help in this matter but there is no denying the last thing they want is Mnangagwa throwing spanners in the works!
https://bulawayo24.com/index-id-news-sc-national-byo-248219.html
ReplyDeleteMozambique's FRELIMO and the opposition are trying to find each other and address the age old problem of rigged elections. The last thing they want is the sabre rattling Mnangagwa, masquerading as SADC chairman, demanding brute force must be use to end post election street protest - pointing to Zimbabwe August 2018 example!
@ Jemwa
ReplyDelete“God loves Zimbabwe, and through a leader who put God first, Zimbabwe will rise again.”
The cold comfort of the village idiots - they either blame some one else for their folly or put all the hope in a brighter and better tomorrow although they have done nothing to learn why they are in a mess much less do something to avoid repeating the same mistake.
It goes without say that in your infantile stupidity you will participate in flawed 2028 elections on the basis of another idiotic lie of winning RIGGED elections.
“Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” But cursed is he who falsely claim to be “touched by God” for the sake of deceiving the ignorant, naive and gullible! Cursed are they too, who are so foolish they not open their eyes and minds to see the mountain of evidence that God is NOT in any of Chamisa’s hare-brain schemes.
Any nation that is so foolish as to give their God giving right to free and fair elections in favour of the oxymoronic nonsense of winning RIGGED elections deserve to suffer!
“Zimbabwe will rise again!” Yeah right! Led by a liar promising to win rigged elections! Fcuk me!
@ Ngugu
ReplyDelete"Ko iwe udza vanhu kuti wakatii? Chamisa Chamisa Chamisa Chamisa
Wadini?"
Telling people where the fcuked up and that repeating the same foolishness is not going to get them out of the mess is THE HOLY GRAIL.
Chamisa and company have failed to implement the democratic reforms even when they had the golden chance to do so and they have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. He has lied to the people again and again to con them to participate in flawed elections on the basis of idiotic lies that the opposition can win RIGGED elections.
The people need to know and understand this so they stop participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate their own suffering.
Why are you insisting that I should not talk about rigged elections and how the MDC/CCC leaders have sold out on reforms? "Ko iwe udza vanhu kuti wakatii?" you insist. What have I done to get the nation into this mess or to stop the nation getting out of the mess?
Your insistence on why I should talk about myself is to draw attention away from Chamisa and company. We all know I have done nothing to drag the nation into this economic and political mess but Chamisa and company have. You would rather we talk about Wilbert Mukori just to draw attention away from Chamisa and those responsible for the mess.
I told you before Chamisa and his MDC/CCC were elected into public office to implement democratic reforms. They sold out big time! Of course they MUST and WILL be held to account - that is not negotiable!
You think Chamisa is a demigod who should not be held to account. Of course, that is nonsense and must be dismissed with contempt it rightly deserve. Only a village idiot would believe is such utter nonsense!
Zimbabwe's industrial sector is on edge this week as concerns grow over the future of the Hwange Thermal Power Station, a critical asset for the country's beleaguered power grid. With power utility Zesa Holdings struggling to meet its debt obligations to Chinese lenders, there are fears that the lenders might "switch off" the facility, exacerbating Zimbabwe's already dire power shortages.
ReplyDeleteThe US$1.4 billion refurbishment of the Hwange power plant's Units 7 and 8 was funded by Chinese banks, but Zesa has faced significant challenges in servicing the debt. If these lenders take drastic action, Zimbabwe could see a dramatic escalation in power outages, which have already been crippling industry, agriculture, and everyday life.
Currently, blackouts in Zimbabwe have stretched to 18 hours a day, severely impacting economic activity. With inflation running high, foreign currency in short supply, and several businesses already shuttering or scaling down operations, the country is in the midst of a serious economic crisis. Analysts warn that prolonged power shortages could make recovery even more elusive, especially for industries struggling to operate amid the daily gridlocks.
US$ 1.4 billion Hwange unit 7 & 8 project was awarded to the Chinese without the prerequisite open and transparent competitive bidding and therefore is will not come as a surprise that the nation has already paid an arm and leg for this project. It is therefore disheartening that the Chinese, not contend with the arm and the leg, are back demanding for the head in a silver platter.
The now all too familiar extended ZESA load shedding have all but crippled Zimbabwe’s industries; switching off Hwange unit 7 & 8 will be last straw to kill off many of the industries still ticking along. The threat of being switched off will force Zanu PF to concede ownership and control of the power generation industry to the Chinese, decapitating Zimbabwe’s sovereignty and making us a Chinese colony in all but name!
@ Jemwa
ReplyDelete“Chamisa said his foundation of leadership is laid upon God. He never blocked you, Mukori, to start your own thing with its own foundation.”
The more one listens to idiots like you the more one understands WHY Zimbabwe is a failed state - we have some of the most idiotic electorate on earth. You are brain dead. Your brain has ossified into fat and is now impermeable to reason.
You clearly have failed to comprehend that:
1) Chamisa has again and again claimed that God was in his hare-brain scheme such that CCC would win big was proven to be a lie when CCC failed to win big. Why you keep ignoring the evidence and hang on to the believe Chamisa’s “foundation of leadership is laid upon God” beggars belief.
2) So it is ok for public officials to con the public into perpetuating the nation’s suffering, they should not be held to account, because those who do so must form their own political party so that they in turn can exploit the public too.
How can anyone be so shallow, thick and slow! Sadly millions of Zimbabweans are this slow, thick and shallow and, worst of all, they have the vote. Last year millions of Zimbabweans voted to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate their own suffering - talk of giving a monkey a load gun!
https://www.youtube.com/live/2JawEprs1kY
ReplyDeleteThe Chinese were paid an arm and leg for Hwange unit 7 & 8 and now they are back demanding the head in a silver platter or they will switch off and throw us all into total darkness!
Zimbabweans have failed to govern ourselves and the Chinese have taken full advantage of this. Zimbabwe is now a colony of China is all but name!
@ Derek Goto
ReplyDeletehe Southern African Development Community (SADC) must abandon its feeble approach to dealing with the destructive chaos orchestrated by opposition political parties and take an uncompromising stand against their blatant role in fuelling post-election violence. These opposition groups have exposed themselves as nothing more than power-hungry, self-serving entities willing to burn nations to the ground in pursuit of their selfish ambitions. From Zimbabwe in 2018 to the recent bloodshed in Mozambique, these anarchists have shown complete contempt for democracy, human decency, and the lives of innocent citizens.
In Mozambique, opposition leader Venancio Mondlane's outright rejection of election results directly triggered violent protests, leading to over 30 deaths. This carnage is not an isolated incident but part of a sickening trend where opposition parties, unable to accept their failure, incite riots, destroy property, and spill innocent blood. The chaos that unfolded in Zimbabwe following the 2018 elections is yet another damning testament to the opposition's reckless and destructive nature. Their actions are nothing short of a premeditated attack on the democratic process and the stability of entire nations.
This is rich coming from the regime that interfered in Mozambique's elections and thus the root cause of the protest! Zanu PF has crossed the double red lines and SADC must boot out Zimbabwe out of the regional body or it will lose credibility!
@ Big fish
ReplyDelete“CCC chayakakutadzirai chihombe..is it the only opposition in Zimbabwe?”
Still, implementing the reforms are the key to ending the curse of rigged elections and bad governs. Of course, anyone responsible for betraying the nation on implementing reforms and thus perpetuating the Zanu PF dictatorship is guilty of high treason. You have never understood why MDC/CCC leaders sold out on reforms because you have never understood what the reforms are.
Many, many man-hours have been spent explaining what the reforms are but none of it has ever sunk in. None! You have failed to understand what these reforms are much less why they are important.
What the village idiot in you has also failed to understand is that just because you do not understand what reforms are, etc. MDC/CCC leaders are innocent. They are not!
MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one reform in 24 years -that is a historic fact. And of course, they will be held to account - that too is a fact and none negotiable. I am here to hammer it into your empty head.
The danger of you and your fellow village idiots being conned by Chamisa to participate in your millions in yet another flawed 2028 election to give Zanu PF legitimacy is real. The only hope of stopping you participating in 2028 is by hammering it into your heads that it is sheer folly participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate your own suffering. You lot are village idiots one cannot reason with you but let’s see if a sludge hammer will do the trick!
To you Chamisa’s not only innocent but is an infallible demigod. Of course, this is nonsense! Chamisa is not only a mere mortal but a corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless one to boot!
The very fact that there millions of people like you who consider Chamisa a demigod, the Chamisa chete chet brigade, speaks volumes as to why we are a failed state and, more significantly, we still have a hard road ahead to rid ourselves of idiots - a prerequisite for healthy and functioning democracy.

ReplyDeleteZimbabwe is a failed state and the root cause is our failure to govern ourselves. Blacks have become the gatekeeper stopping our own political freedom and economic empowerment and the chief are the Zanu PF buffoons, the sell out opposition and last but not least is us the people in our breathtaking stupidity!
We should not be surprise we have scum for leaders; cream rises from wholesome milk , we are far from it. We do not even have the common sense to admit our failures and hence the reason have failed to hold free, fair and credible elections even after 44 years of rigged elections!
