If SADC do the right thing and deny Zanu PF legitimacy the only solution is a NTA of technocrats W Mukori

“What will be the nature of the NTA and from which party will these so called technocrats come from? I think you need to write an article solely clarifying your NTA idea. According to Jonso ZANU PF cannot and will not reform itself out of power. In Africa any NTA is naturally headed by the army and in Zimbabwe's case we know who controls the levers of power and that person is now an ex officio member of the Politburo,” commented Prudence Paula Tete.

You are right, Zanu PF will never reform itself out of office or ever allow any meaningful democratic reforms to be implemented to dismantle the now well established Zanu PF autocracy. If Zanu PF is in the new GNU or NTA, we can be certain of one thing they will be there to throw the spinner in the works at every opportunity.

Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Mugabe bribed them with the trappings of high office, the ministerial limos, very generous salaries and allowances, a US$4 million mansion for Tsvangirai himself, etc., etc. It worked! No even the constant nagging by SADC leaders such as Minister Lindiwe Zulu could get MDC leaders to implement even one token reform.

MDC leaders have managed to get away with the treasonous betrayal of failing to implement even one reform because most Zimbabweans had no clue the primary purpose of the GNU was to implement reforms. They did not know what the reforms are much less how they are implemented. Even to this day most people do not know what the reforms are much less that MDC/CCC leaders sold out.

MDC/CCC have taken full advantage of the people’s ignorance to create the narrative the nation does not need reforms implemented because they, the opposition, have devised winning in rigged elections strategies. “God is in it!” Chamisa has often argued. The ignorant and gullible public have swallowed the hook, sinker and line.

How anyone would give up their right to free and fair elections for the oxymoronic promise of winning rigged elections, beggars belief; especially after 43 years of Zanu PF mafiosi rigging elections!

Nelson Chamisa and his CCC friends are not interested in implementing any reforms but they also know they will not win rigged elections. They have been participating in flawed elections knowing this will give Zanu PF legitimacy; they did care as long as they win a few gravy train seats making them the country’s main opposition.

MDC/CCC know that 43 years of gross mismanagement and rampant corruption have left the country in economic ruins and the people desperate for change. They will wait for Zanu PF to burn the country down or for the people to risk all in violent protests, which ever comes first, to deliver power to them in a silver platter.

If CCC ever got into power, their number one priority would be to consolidate their hold on power by making sure the key players in the Zanu PF autocracy switch their allegiance to CCC. Indeed, one of the reasons MDC failed to implement any meaning reforms during the 2008 GNU was the belief MDC could talk the top brass in the Army, Police and CIO to switch by promising them all the benefits they were getting from Zanu PF!

The solution for Zimbabwe must be a NTA composed of technocrats who can be trusted to implement all the reforms. This is not  viable solution only because many people fear that Zanu PF will make the country ungovernable. The only relevant question one must therefore ask is: Are we going to let Zanu PF hold this nation to ransom?

“It is therefore pointless to belabour the political and legal points that were already mentioned in the past warning Nelson Chamisa and CCC of the dangerous that lay ahead because of their chosen path which they called Strategic Ambiguity.

The first thing to say is that Nelson Chamisa was terribly advised, how could his legitimate Recalled MPs go to court and yet CCC the party that they belong to is not in court to support their assertions?

That is a question for Nelson Chamisa and CCC to answer.

At this point we must accept that there is a problem in Zimbabwe where both the opposition and ruling parties don’t want to be told what they should hear, they want political analysts and journalists to say what they want to hear.

There is no shortage of so called political analysts and journalists who are happy to push dishonest partisan “analysis” misleading the reading public and party supporters.

There is also no shortage of those who want that propaganda.

There is a reason why some people succeed and some don’t, it is the ability to acknowledge the truth and learn from your mistakes.

Ordinarily ALL CCC MPs should resign, that way they can build a new party with genuine cadres and constitution.

But will they have the courage to resign?

It should be known that at any given time when the opposition is at the mercy of State institutions, ZANUPF will ruthlessly exploit the power of incumbency.

The key point is that the opposition should never leave the door open for exploitation.”

We all know that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent, they have made one meaningless blunder after another. If the truth be told it is the ordinary Zimbabweans themselves who never learn from the past because they would not still be following MDC/CCC leaders after all their treasonous betrayals and blunders.

Lest we forget the people have risked limb and life to elected MDC/CCC into power on the promise the party will bring about the democratic changes to end the Zanu PF dictatorship. After 23 years, including 5 in the GNU, they have not even implemented one token reform.

Indeed Chamisa and company have given up on reforms in favour of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy in return for a few gravy train seats!

Mark my words carefully, MDC/CCC leaders will never bring about any meaningful change in Zimbabwe. Never!

  2. Yes, SADC leaders have met and discussed the SADC election report on Zimbabwe but signs are, they will do little else.

SA's ANC made a party resolution in November 2022 that they will not permit regime change in Zimbabwe and they are clearly have their wish even at the expense of keeping a vote rigging regime in power even after the regional election body condemned the election.

“This is one point on which I agree with you Wilbert. SADC has always been edentulous.”

You nailed there, SADC is nothing more than the edentulous sloth - toothless and brainless! The very fact that we had pinned our hopes on the sloth to fight for our most basic freedoms and rights including the right to a meaningful say in the governance of our country goes to show just how helpless we have become!

Now the sloth has slammed the door shut in our faces we now face the reality of five years of the same incompetent, corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship complete with the nauseating CCC nonsensical theatricals. Recalling elected officials is one of MDC/CCC’s favourite pantomimes and they have already kicked off!

Come 2028 the nation will be going into refresh elections with not even one token reform and so it will be yet another rigged elections. The same MDC/CCC leaders will be participating in flawed elections promising the usual big win because they have devised winning in rigged elections strategies. The herd will believed the hot air and thus give our sloth the excuse to grant vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. And thus mark the beginning of a new cycle of this mind blowing insanity of rigged elections and heartbreaking human suffering; all self inflicted because we are a nation refusing to think for ourself!

“At least you are saying WE you are not blaming CCC or Chamisa - for ONCE you posted something here that shows there is at least some brains in your head. Good job Dr Mukori 😂”

The we was referring to the few thinking Zimbabweans out there we have had the intellect to acknowledge the nation was once again misled by the idiotic opposition sell outs into participating in these flawed elections only to give the edentulous SADC sloth the excuse to grant vote rigging Zanu PF legitimacy. The we did not include those Zimbabweans stupid enough to still believe any good would ever come out of the corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent MDC/CCC leaders. And the we did not include the CCC leaders and their apologists like you, Svosve.

If you had any brain you would be apologising to the people of Zimbabwe for all those man-years of Change Radio bulls***t. You certainly have played you part in brainwashing millions of Zimbabweans into giving up their right to free and fair elections because they believed your oxymoronic winning in rigged elections strategies.

I do not expect you to apologise because you do not have the intellect comprehend what is going on here. Never will!

“Change Radio!” And yet can not name one change you have brought!

“Now you understand why that rhetoric which you were making that MDC especially did not make any reforms in the 5 years in the GNU was misplaced and deserves all the contempt it deserves.

We’re fighting against ZANU-PF, SADC, AU and all organisations who do not want change.”

Nonsense! MDC leaders sold out big time during the 2008 to 2013 GNU, they failed to implement even one reform. SADC leaders like Minister Lindiwe Zulu nagged MDC leaders to implement reforms and for that Mugabe called her “street woman!” It is therefore absurd to blame SADC for the failure to implement the reforms during the GNU.

SADC election observer team this year did the right thing in condemning the flawed and illegal elections which is more than the sell-out CCC leaders did. Chamisa wanted the people to participate in the flawed elections claiming he had closed all the vote rigging loop-holes. Of course, he was lying.

The lies were just a smoke screen to justify why he and his CCC friends were participating in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for the sake of a few gravy train seats.

Even after SEOM report condemned the election as a farce, CCC leaders still went ahead to take up their gravy train seats out of greed. Of course, CCC do not care that elections are rigged as long as they have their share of the spoils of power.

Zanu PF knows that and has since created POLAD to entice more opposition participation. Mnangagwa had to introduce the US$20 000 nomination fee for the presidential candidates, just to limit the number. Without the fee, Zimbabwe would have broken yet another world record - the biggest number of presidential candidates.

Chamisa will probably join POLAD this time if offered “Leader of Opposition” post complete with the ministerial limo, generous salary and allowances, etc. Of course, he is in politics for the gravy train benefits; he is not interested in delivering any of the democratic changes the nation has been dying for all these years.

He just likes to make people like you David to believe he will deliver change. MDC/CCC has failed to deliver even one reform in 23 years but Chamisa has only have to say “God is in it!” and he is a demigod who must never ever be questioned. Of course, it is tragic that anyone would ever consider another mortal a demigod especially one with a proven track record as corrupt, incompetent and run of the mill con!

  6. SADC LEADERS BOYCOTT THE SADC EXTRAORDINARY SUMMIT ON ZIMBABWE

By Our Correspondent in GABORONE BOTSWANA

Zimbabwe has seriously divided the regional block SADC with SADC leaders Presidents Mokgweetsi Masisi , Dr Lazarus Chakwera, Dr Hage Geingob and Filipe Nyusi all expressing their displeasure with the way the regional block SADC has handled the ZIMBABWE political impasse.
President Hage Geingob sent a representative to the SADC Extraordinary Summit in Angola choosing to attend a Cultural festival in Namibia.
President Filipe Nyusi chose to attend to an agricultural event in Mozambique and as well sent a representative to the SADC Extraordinary Summit.
President Lazarus Chakwera was at a golf festival in Malawi. He also sent a representative to the SADC Extraordinary Summit on Zimbabwe.
Then President Mokgweetsi Masisi of Botswana was touring a prison farm in Botswana whilst the SADC Extraordinary Summit on Zimbabwe was going on with him represented by a Minister.
These are four of the ten SADC Heads of States and Governments who openly registered their displeasure on the way SADC has handled serious political impasses in Zimbabwe even from the time of Robert Mugabe.
They view SADC as a "Boys club which accommodates corrupt leaders and Dictatorships in the region ."
On October 7 President Filipe Jacinto Nyusi invited President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia and President Lazarus Chakwera of Malawi to the opening ceremony of Port Nacala .
The three SADC Leaders were in the same boat on the ZIMBABWE political impasse and President Hakainde Hichilema of Zambia expressed his concern over glaring lack of will within SADC to help the People of Zimbabwe.
" As the Chair of the SADC Organ on Politics Defence and Security Cooperation we can only do this much and no further on pushing for sanity to return in Zimbabwe . We need a concerted effort in the SADC region to help the People of Zimbabwe. That's not there at the moment ", President Hakainde Hichilema lamented.
President Mokgweetsi Masisi is one who besides never congratulating President Emmerson Mnangagwa also expressed concern over the deteriorating political situation in Zimbabwe to the SADC Chair Joao Lourenco when they met in New York at UN General Assembly UNGA 78 .He said it was important SADC was rid of bullies and ZIMBABWE has been viewed as such since the time of Robert Mugabe.
President Lazarus Chakwera on September 8 made an to the SADC TROIKA ORGAN enquiry on why the SADC Organ on Politics Defence and Security Cooperation was moving slowly in their efforts to get the ZIMBABWE political impasse ito the SADC mainstream. Of course in Mozambique at the opening ceremony of Port Nacala he got his answer from President Hakainde Hichilema. SADC Leaders have not done enough to help the People of Zimbabwe

SADC is not a homogeneous organisation and an organisation differs on matters of its own principles and guideline it is not worth a spit!

The disunity is caused mainly by SA’s ANC regime that vowed back in November 2022 that it will not permit regime change in Zimbabwe. The regime is having its wish! And the ordinary Zimbabweans are paying dearly for it but so are South Africans - ANC is just using Zimbabwe to help it stay in power in next year’s elections (another five more years of ANC will be a disaster) - and everyone in SADC - an undemocratic and chaotic SADC will be a disaster for everyone.

  7. If anyone was responsible for souring the relationship between Zambia and Zimbabwe then it must be Zanu PF thugs. The regime rigged the 2023 elections and did not want the truth to be told and so became abusive. It is totally dishonest to suggest Zambia is to blame!

  8. ANC SG Fikile Mbalula breaks the silence to explain why SADC heads of state are not taking any further action on Zanu PF following the damning SEOM report: Zimbabwe is a sovereign country that must resolve its own internal problems. This is cynical and hypocritical!

Zanu PF has just rigged the elections, usurping the people's sovereign and rendering them absolutely powerless, for Pete's sake. ANC has propped up this Zanu PF regime and now it is leaving the people at the mercy of the regime, out of respect of national sovereignty! How sickening!

The truth is MDC/CCC leaders now know they wasted their golden chance to implement the democratic reforms during the GNU, they have given up on reforms. They have been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for a share of the spoils of power.

After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token democratic reforms; they will not implement any in the future. They have to keep up the lie they will win rigged elections to con their followers to participating in the flawed elections.

As long as the electorate remains naive and gullible Chamisa and company will continue propping up Zanu PF and the suffering will continue! It is ironic that the ignorance of the masses is the primary reason perpetuating their own suffering. Ignorance is Zimbabwe’s worst curse!

  10. Not every fist pumping nationalists demanding "full and unfettered democracy" is a democrat.

Indeed, Zimbabwe's worse curse is that yesterday's liberators have become today's oppressors and so 43 years, and counting, after independence we are yet to hold our first free. fair and credible elections.

  11. Some Zimbabweans have invaded the Zimbabwe embassy in London.

Those who close the door to orderly democratic change necessarily open the window to violent change because change will always happen, it cannot be stopped!

  12. Not everyone who fought in the liberation war believed in "full and unfettered democracy, free and fair elections!". As we now know, there were mercenaries amongst out liberation war heroes who who were fighting to end white oppression but only to be the new black oppressors.

Such is the tragic fate of Zimbabwe, yesterday' s liberators have again and again turned today's oppressors and hence the reason why full and unfettered democracy with free, fair and credible elections has remained a mirage.

The last 15 years the nation has been chasing the imaginary five legged hare - winning rigged elections. The MDC/CCC have given up on reforms and free elections and has been telling the voters they have devised winning in rigged elections strategies. All hot air but the masses have believed the oxymoronic nonsense again and again.

“Pamberi nechimurenga!” and all that fist pumping was not for full and unfettered democracy but the outward signs of the cast iron resolve of mercenaries determined to get their reward at all costs - absolute power. They would rather burn down the house than be denied their reward!

“The ‘new’ regime can be viewed from different angles, but the nub of it is this: there’s a recognition that the economic fiasco of the last 20 years was suboptimal, but Emmerson Mnangagwa and his fellow travellers will burn the house down if they feel it necessary. Make no mistake, their will to power is every bit as intense as Mugabe’s—as is their belief that they own the country’s choicest fruits by right of conquest,” wrote Stuart Doran.

“There’s no comprehending Zimbabwe without an appreciation of that mentality. Yet many fail to get it because they don’t read the country’s history. In 1979, at the height of the struggle against white rule, a diplomat who mixed frequently with Mugabe and other leaders of his party observed that ‘ZANU does not seem to attach much importance to the destruction caused by prolonged war’. They said they were content to see Zimbabwe ‘totally’ demolished if that was the price to be paid for preventing others from ruling it. That attitude has not changed an iota, notwithstanding the passage of 40 years and Mugabe’s departure. After all, the men who now rule wielded his hatchets for most of that period.

“That’s a tough ask for the same group of individuals who have shredded the country since 1980—a fraternity that will continue to loot, will continue to be tetchy about the merest hint of dissent, and will continue to patently despise the notion that it requires the consent of the people to govern.”

“VaMukori cannot even move forward, is stuck in the past...... Its very clear that his understanding of the nature of the struggle to bring change is far below of those in the trenches.”

Some people see progress where there is no progress. The country is a failed state, millions of our people are now living in abject poverty and the future is grime but when you cannot see beyond the tip of your nose and everything is blurred you “see” what you want to see - progress. The country cannot even hold free, fair and credible elections for Pete’s sake!

  14. Zimbabwe's biggest thief of our generation
by Phrophet DrCde Madzibaba Adamski Jahman

The MDC leaders sold out by failing to implement even one democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and SADC and most of the international community gave up on MDC there and then. Alas! Many Zimbabweans did not even realise what was going on during the GNU and have continued to give MDC leaders their blind support. Some are slowing waking up to the reality that MDC/CCC leader are corrupt and incompetent.

It took many Zimbabweans 20 years before they finally accepted that Mugabe and his Zanu PF friends were corrupt, incompetent and murderous thugs. Even with the Gukurahundi massacre raging on; some would not accept Zanu Pf were murderers! By the time the penny finally dropped, Zanu PF dictatorship was entrenched and dismantling it has been a challenge.

Dismantling the Zanu PF dictatorship with a corrupt and incompetent MDC/CCC has made that mission impossible! And as long as the people continue to trust the corrupt and incompetent opposition to deliver change Zanu PF knows they will rule until the donkeys have horns because nothing will change! Nothing!

  15. "On the background of all the above issues, what stands out is that the first respondent's letters to the presiding officers of Parliament satisfied all the requirements under s129(1) (k)of the Constitution. In addition he attached annexures ‘ST2', a document addressed to the third respondent which showed that he was designated by the CCC as its officer," Mutevedzi said.

"There is nothing to rebut that other than the belated and discredited letters of Nelson Chamisa. He went out of his way to prove what he ordinarily was not required to prove. The applicants failed to produce their party constitution or any document which showed that the first respondent could possibly not have held the position he claimed he held.

"It was simply their word that he wasn't. That is not enough. Contrary to counsel's allegation that the first respondent conceded that he was not a member of the CCC party, his opposing affidavit has claims in innumerable paragraphs saying he is a bona fide member and official of that party with authority to write correspondences of recalls like he did. The onus to prove entitlement to the declaratory orders sought was on the applicants.

"They did not even begin to discharge it. They have not established their case on a balance of probabilities as required by law and are therefore not entitled to the declaratur which they seek," wrote Mutevedzi.

Tshabangu wrote to Parliament posturing as the secretary-general of the CCC and in his correspondence he recalled 15 legislators across the country.

Justice Mutevedzi said it was the prerogative of the party to challenge Tshabangu's CCC membership and not that of the members.

"Just like it is difficult if not impossible for a man to impugn the paternity of his brother without directly involving the parents it is naïve for a member of a political party to approach a court seeking to prove that another is a non-member of the same party without the involvement of the political party itself. The applicants in the two applications before me all share the mortification of failing to appreciate the elementary notion that they are individuals who are distinct from their political party. They cannot conflate the rights acquired through their individual membership in the party with the responsibilities which are reposed in the political party itself. I will later in the judgment, demonstrate the fallacy of believing otherwise," Mutevedzi wrote

The sheer incompetence shown here is shocking. What is more, we have seen this rain and again! Chamisa challenged the results of the 2018 presidential elections claiming he had a water-tight case and it turned out that he did not have all the v11 forms the back the 2.6 millions votes he claimed. The nation was spared another similar challenge this year because, once again he did not have all the V11 forms to back his claimed victory!

MDC/CCC blundering competence is what has kept Zanu PF in power these last 23 years by failing to implement reforms and then by participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. The consequences of perpetuating the Zanu PF dictatorship is the failed state and the tragic human suffering that entails.

The people of Zimbabwe need to wake-up to the reality that Chamisa and company are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent; they will never implement any reforms and deliver free and fair elections. Never!

  16. This is a circus and meanwhile the the real issues affecting the people are being ignored! Since nothing has been done to deal with this so called imposter, he could recall more elected CCC officials including Shantel Chiwara and many others if they win in this by-election. And so the madness continues.

Chamisa is now dismissing the recent elections as “a gigantic fraud” and yet he was the one claiming CCC was going to win big because he had plugged all the vote rigging loop-holes!

After 23 years including 5 in the GNU MDC/CCC have failed to implement even one democratic reform and that was the number one task the party was elected into office to do! The people of Zimbabwe have to wake up to the reality that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent and will never implement the reforms and thus deliver free, fair and credible elections.

  17. Opposition political parties in Zimbabwe are divided over participating in by-elections slated for 09 December 2023, amid concerns that voter apathy is deepening in the southern African country.

The by-elections were triggered by the recalls initiated by the Citizens’ Coalition for Change (CCC)’s self-proclaimed interim secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu.

The United Zimbabwe Alliance (UZA) party led by Elisabeth Valerio said that it will not participate in the 9 December by-elections despite some opposition political parties such as ZAPU declaring that they will field candidates for the polls.

Voter apathy! Why am I not surprised! After 43 years of participating in the same Zanu PF rigged elections expecting change, the penny has finally dropped!

As those opposition parties boycotting the by-election this has no effect since the participated in the main elections giving Zanu PF legitimacy!
