Saviour Ksukuwere was one of the late dictator Robert Mugabe’s key players in the creation and retention of the de facto one party state in Zimbabwe. He (Kasukuwere) never imagined even for a minute that one day he will be caught in the lawless spider’s web he helped to weave.
“In a High Court application filed last Friday, Kasukuwere wants Justice David Mangota's ruling barring him from the election declared a nullity because it was made by ‘a compromised judicial officer who had received a house from the state three working days before rendering his judgement’,” reported Bulawayo 24.
"I am advised that at law, a judgement given by a biased judicial officer must be treated as pro non scripto (as not written) and the same cannot be appealed against but rescinded at law as the same does not appear in the record," Kasukuwere said in an affidavit.
Justice Mangota granted an order sought by Lovedale Mangwana, a Zanu-PF activist, who argued that Kasukuwere had been out of the country for 12 months leading to the filing of his nomination papers on June 21, and was legally ineligible to vote and run for public office.
Kasukuwere has appealed the judgement at the Supreme Court and the matter is set to be heard on July 27.
If Kasukuwere’s appeal is based on nothing else other than that Justice Mangota was compromised then he should not even bother attending the Supreme Court hearing because the judges there are equally compromised!
All Zimbabwe’s high ranking judiciary officials including the judges received a US$ 400 000 housing loan from this Zanu PF government. It is not part of their renumeration package and many others individual such as chiefs, CIO, ZEC and many others with a key role to play in these 2023 elections have too received similar generous gifts.
In ancient Rome bribing public officials was considered a serious crime. In Zimbabwe is the government itself that has made corruption the norm. We call it political patronage. As a former Minister and Zanu PF national Political commissar, Kasukuwere knows only too well that Zimbabwe’s state institutions are captured by the party and they are all department of the party in all but name. And the party has used political patronage to corrupt and control all these institutions.
Whether the house Judge Mangota received three days before the High Court hearing was part of the US$ 400 000 or over and above that is neither here or there. What matters is the house is just part of the political patronage all the judges, as far as I know received the bribe. All the judges including the three judging hearing Kasukuwere’s appeal.
It is a great pity that Comrade Saviour Kasukuwere will not the attending the Supreme Court hearing in person, “passenger 34” has remained in outside Zimbabwe throughout all this drama. If he had attended: it would have been very interesting for one of the judges to ask passenger 34. “I took received the US$ 400 000 housing loan. Are you saying I too am compromised?”
“Since when have you known the judiciary in Zimbabwe is compromised, passenger 34?
“Can you repeat your answer under oath, passenger 34?”
Of course, Kasukuwere has knew ever since joining Zanu PF that this was a party of ruthless thugs, a quality he showed in his youth and that served him well hence his meteoric rise through the Zanu PF party ranks. As a seasoned Zanu PF thug, bribing a public official was nothing we are talking to passenger 34 who had no qualms harassing, beating and even killing in the naming of Zanu PF!
Still, how are the Supreme Court judges going to deny Justice Mangota is compromised when he clearly received the US$400 000 bribe at the beginning of the election cycle? And yet who are they to point the accusing finger at Mangota when they too received a similar bribe?
“Look how this ha’ growen an’ growen sir, bigger an’ bigger, broader an’ broader, harder an’ harder, fro year to year, fro generation unto generation. Who can look on’t sir, and fairly tell a man ‘tis not a muddle?” Stephen Blackpool, Hard Times by Thomas Hardy
Well, Zimbabwe is indeed in a muddle and one of our own making.

ReplyDeleteMnangagwa had consoling news, and good news, they declared our father a national hero, said Ezekiel Guti's daughter, Larvene, as she celebrated
It is ironic that Zimbabwe has declared more national heroes in these 43 years than many nations with even bigger population has declared in 400 years and yet Zimbabwe has suffered its worst economic, social and political collapse. And it is curious to note that many of those declared national heroes are responsible for the rot!
By-The leader of the opposition CCC Nelson Chamisa said his party had covered all loopholes used by Zanu PF to rig elections in the past.
ReplyDeleteAddressing thousands of CCC supporters at a campaign rally at Dulibadzimu Stadium in Beitbridge on Sunday, Chamisa said the opposition party should win the 23 August 2023 elections by a huge margin. He said: When ED grabbed power from Mugabe, he was given two years to finish Mugabe’s term but nothing worked. I warned my brother (Mnangagwa) about the repercussions of grabbing power. I told him what you have done, you have committed a crime in heaven and on earth. He grabbed another five years from me in 2018. This time we know he is thinking of employing dirty tactics but all corners are covered because we know what he uses to steal elections. We want to see when election results are being announced, the gap must be huge.
For the record: the only way to end this curse of rigged elections; “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw,” as David Coltart readily confessed; is by implementing the democratic reforms. Ever since MDC/CCC leaders sold out by failing to get even one token reform implemented during the 2008 to 2013 GNU, they claimed to have winning in rigged elections strategies.
Chamisa says he has “covered all the (vote rigging) loopholes”. I would like to denounce it here and now and very loudly: this is just hot air. I do not have to wait for 24 August 2023 to know Zanu PF is once again blatantly rigging these elections. I know CCC are participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy for the sake of the few gravy train seats on offer as bait.
How long are we, Zimbabweans, going to allow this insanity of rigged elections and failed state to continue dragging the whole nation deeper and deeper into the abyss? How long?
"Passenger 34, since when have you known Zimbabwe's judges are compromised? Remember you are under oath."asked the Judge.
ReplyDelete"Remember you ARE compromised, per se, pro non scripto (as not written). I knew it when my case came before the High Court, a few weeks go!" passenger 34 answered.

ReplyDeleteYou are howler monkey, you have to howl at everything I say regardless. What is wrong with what I said? Is it not true that Zimbabwe's Heroes' Acre is full of looters and murderers? Answer me you foolish monkey masquerading as a human being!
@ Team Pachedu
ReplyDelete“We have found 10 000 ID on the 2023 voters’ roll used by different people in the 2002 - 2008 elections. ZEC are recycling IDs.”
This searchable voters’ roll Team Pachedu managed to get is not necessarily the same roll that will be used on 23 August 2023 for the voting, certainly not every where.
Even if ZEC used this voters’ roll, there is still lot of opportunity to rig the vote since this roll relates to the 11 000 Polling Stations of 2018, the number has gone up to over 12 000. There is the opportunity to cut and mix to create confusion. Many people will find their names missing of Polling Station voters’ roll or some such mishap.
There there is the hundreds of thousands who are not on the voters’ roll but will be allowed to vote, ostensibly because it was too late to add them on the roll. As a rule Zanu PF has always registered its supporters the last minute and they have used their voter registration slip to cast multiple votes.
Zanu PF is rigging these elections and those who participate are giving Zanu PF legitimacy. CCC and the rest in the opposition camp are participating out of greed. They are after the gravy train seats and/or POLAD freebies. The ordinary people are participating out of fear and/or stupidity; they are expecting a different result even after 43 years of rigged elections! Some believe Chamisa's idiotic lies that he has "cover all the vote rigging loopholes"!
@ Eddy
ReplyDelete“Past is past we are waiting for future. Sei usirikupa presure ZANU PF yakundikana fot 43 years.”
So you think if MDC/CCC had not sold out and implemented the reforms stopping Zanu PF rigging elections that would not have put the regime under pressure? Zanu PF would be history by now!
@ Wezhira Munya
ReplyDelete“President Chamisa Addresses over 15,000 rural Supporters in Masvingo Central
... Despite Zanu PF giving mealie meal to citizens in Masvingo Central a few meters away from CCC rally.”
Your message remains up beat, CCC is on course to win big! And yet there is a mountain of evidence pointing to the reality that Zanu PF is once again rigging these elections. So who do you think you are fooling with your idiotic nonsense?
Zimbabwe is a failed state because the country has failed to hold free, fair and credible elections. And Zanu PF has had a big helping hand from the village idiots who not only failed to implement the democratic reforms but are now lying to our people that they can deliver good governance without first ending the curse of rigged elections. Idiots who are day in and day out singing CCC is winning the rigged elections when it is clearly a damn lie!
@ Aspiring Senator Chitando
ReplyDelete“Breaking News..... ZanuPF On Violence In Masvingo Central!!!
1) Information is that truckloads with youths to unleash violence in Masvingo Central have been dispatched at the instructions of Edson Zvobgo Jr and Ezra Chadzamira. The youths have just departed from Benjamin Burombo and Rujeko B shopping centre.
2) CCC will not let its supporters beaten but will defend .
3)All Councillors and youth leaders be on high alert of any violent ZanuPF teams so as to phone call reaction peace love teams( PELOTE)
4)We call upon the police to make sure that they stop these ZanuPF militia before its too late.”
What exactly do you expect peace love teams (PELOTE) to do? If it is to “defend” CCC supporters then this is exactly what Zanu PF wanted you to do. In the past opposition supporters have always lost these confrontations because the Zanu PF supporters will have the whole state machinery behind them.
You call upon the Police to stop Zanu PF militia! Even the village idiots know you are being stupid.
The only sure way to end this utterly, utterly, senseless wanton violence is by implementing the democratic reforms. You are hell bent on participating in these flawed elections and will not listen because you have your eyes on being one of the Masvingo Province CCC senators and the US$ 60 000 car US$ 40 000 housing allowances plus all the other benefits. You really do not give a damn how many people are beaten or killed in these wanton violence nor the consequences of perpetuating the dictatorship and failed state!
@ Juel Mutali
ReplyDelete“This guys is always criticising the opposition he might be tied to something he is so passionate about it.”
I have criticised MDC/CCC for selling out during the GNU (Arthur would be thrilled to bits to see this) by failing to implement even one democratic reforms and for participating in these flawed elections, “so flawed and so illegal the rational thing to do is to withdraw”, as David Coltart aptly put it. Do you realise that if MDC/CCC had not sold out these elections would be free, fair and credible and Zanu PF would be history by now?
It is very sad that many Zimbabweans have no clue the primary purpose of 2008 to 2013 GNU (another give away for Arthur - being a simpleton has its benefits) was to implement reforms, even with the benefit of hindsight. They have no clue that participating in these flawed elections will only give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate their suffering.
All this euphoria of attending CCC rallies will end in tears on 24 August, 2023. Those who will not learn from the past are destined to repeat the same foolish mistakes over and over again and pay dearly for it. Zimbabwe is a failed state and there is no escaping from this hell-hole until we learn.
You re irritated with the truth? Well no wonder you are howling! Zanu PF is rigging these elections and Chamisa's claim of "covering all the vote rigging loopholes is nonsense"! You can howl all you want just don't scratch yourself. A howler monkey without hair is unsightly!
ReplyDelete"The current voters' roll is not fit for a burial society election. It is a crime scene. There must be an urgent national audit of this roll signed off by all political parties.
ReplyDelete"Zimbabwe cannot be led into an occult travesty masquerading as an election. 23 August must be a real election," Tendai Biti said.
This is not the first time Tendai Biti has called on Zimbabweans to stop participating in these sham elections. He first said this in 2015.
“Look, you can't keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections. So it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimizing these sham elections which don't deliver. This country will go through a serious economic crisis in 2020 caused by Zanu PF. And yet, this is the only country where a government doesn't perform, it is encouraged by a super majority in parliament,” said Tendai Biti in a 2015 interview with Isaac Mugabi.
“So you can't continue subjecting Zimbabweans to processes where their hopes just get crushed.”
His words fell on deaf ears then as the opposition have participated in flawed elections out of greed. The question the nation will be asking today is will his warning once again fall on deaf ears, especially now after 43 years of rigged elections with the nation a failed state and standing on the edge of the precipitous abyss.
In 2015 Tendai Biti spoke of the sheer futility of participating in these flawed and illegal elections. Sadly no one in the opposition camp listened and, it must be said, he either did not hear his own words or greed got the better of him because he too has participated in the flawed elections regardless.
ReplyDeletehttps://www.zimeye.net/2023/07/25/stop-subjecting-zimbabweans-to-processes-where-their-hopes-get-crushed/
Today, 2023 Tendai Biti has renewed his advice on the sheer futility of participating in the 2023 elections without something as basic as a verified voters' roll. Will the opposition finally open their ears and listen?
ReplyDeleteWill Tendai Biti hear his own voice and refuse to participate (he is vying for a senatorial seat) or will greed once again get the better of him too?

ReplyDeleteZanu-PF political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere on Friday dismissed opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai's call for electoral reforms, saying the MDC leader can go and hang.
Addressing Zanu-PF supporters at a rally in Harare's Msasa suburb to drum up support for the party's candidate, Terence Mukupe for the June 10 by-elections in Harare East, Kasukuwere declared that Tsvangirai will never see the reforms that he is clamouring for.
"Tsvangirai is going around saying he wants reforms. What reforms? I want to tell him that he will never ever see the reforms that he is dreaming about. He can go to hell and go hang," he said.
No Zimbabwean in his or her right mind can ever vote for Kasukuwere because he is just the flip side of the same Mnangagwa and Zanu PF dictatorship we have been fighting to end all these last 43 years!

ReplyDelete“The guy has no conscience
Similarly - Do we think we can arm-twist ED or Zanu itself into implementing reforms through parliament or constitution.”
The guy in the audio is appealing to Mnangagwa’s sense of honour, etc.
We are talking about participating in a flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy? The quotation from Coltart's book is simple which part are you guys failing to understand?
“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.
@ Godfrey
ReplyDelete“Who is powerful in the face of a dictator - Are we ? And what have we done if we claim to have the power - closer to home what have I done - what have you done effectively
So the audio guy is just the same as us all striving to get out of this man made hell on earth.”
He has learned nothing from the GNU because he continues to give his blind support to individuals who sold out by failing to implement even one reform. Both Zanu PF and CCC are taking full advantage of his stupidity in participating in these elections only to give the former legitimacy and the later a share of the spoils of power.
