CCC has failed to implement even one token reforms for free elections and never will. "Yangova chechi yavaWisri!" W Mukori

“Zviripapi, CCC yangova chechi yavaWisiri!” (CCC is now church building of the Wesley!) answered my cousin after attending Nelson Chamisa’s Mkoba, Gweru, rally on Sunday.

In my rural village “Chechi yavaWisiri” became the byword for something that is not fit for the purpose and failure.

The Wesley church members in my home area were allocated a piece of land on which to build their church. I remember a structure going up every few years only to be abandoned before it was complete. And after a few years work will start again on a new structure. Work will once again stop because the members had run out of ideas, money or something.

On one occasion, the structure build out of fired mud-bricks had gone up nearly roof level when there the rain season set in. It was not a particularly wet season. After a few weeks, cracks started appear on the wall. The walls were plastered to cover the cracks. To cut the long story short, the building was abandoned yet again before it was complete; no amount of mud plaster was ever going to hold up that mud-brick leaning tower of Pisa!

My cousin is a shrewd political activist and not to be confused with the brain dead political supporters, from both sides of the political divide, who follow the political leaders blindly, no questioned asked, like sheep to the slaughter. He joined the MDC soon after the party was launched in 1999 but his enthusiasm and zeal did not last. “We have too much dead wood, starting with Morgan Tsvangirai himself!” he explained to me at the time. Time has proven him right again and again.

Lest people forget, the people of Zimbabwe have risked life and limb (Zanu PF thugs have been ruthless with their political opponents and their supporters) to elect MDC (now rebranded as CCC) leaders into power on the promise the party will implement the necessary democratic changes to end the Zanu PF dictatorship. After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, MDC/CCC has not implemented even one token democratic reform. Worse still, the party has been participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed.

It was my cousin who brought David Coltart’s book to my attention, more specifically the confession on the futility of participating in flawed elections.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe. could h where plaster e

My cousin tried his best to talk the likes of David Coltart, Tendai Biti and one or two others “with some grey stuff between their ears” to do the only rational thing - stop participating in flawed 2018 elections to perpetuate the dictatorship. The gravitation pull of greed, the call of the wild, was overwhelming; particularly now that Mugabe had nurtured and cultivated it during the GNU years.

“If there was any pretence of the party seeking democratic changes before the 2008 and 2013 GNU, the pretence died of neglect during the GNU,” explained my cousin.”Soon after the GNU the fight for reform and democratic changes was buried.

“Chamisa and company are now convinced they can win “rigged” elections and political power. At least, this is what they tell the wildebeest herd; cover for why they insist on participating in flawed elections.

“Zimbabwe is a failed state and the need to implement the democratic reforms and end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance is more urgent now that ever. Chamisa and his CCC friends are talking of regime change, that is the change they are now promising not reforms and free elections.

“So MDC/CCC has failed to deliver even one token reform in these last 23 years nor is it ever likely to do so in the future because the party has never had the quality leaders to understand the reforms much less the vision to implement them. MDC/CCC was never ever fit for purpose! Chechi yavaWisiri!”

My cousin had not bothered to register to vote for the 2018 elections when it became clear to him that MDC leaders were participating to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. He is not going to vote next month and has been doing his best to explain the sheer futility of doing so to perpetuate the Zanu PF dictatorship and prop up corrupt and utterly useless CCC!

Seriously if blacks were like you during the war nothing would have been achieved with your likes. I’m ashamed of your journalism if indeed yoh are. You see everything through a white barometer.”

You have not said anything wrong about what I said. Most African countries including Zimbabwe are failed states and I refused to be brainwashed by Zanu PF propaganda. This whole notion that you must deny what you can see with your own eyes to be patriotic on in the name of pan-Africanism is all bulls***t!

What achievements has this Zanu PF regime or ANC in South Africa accomplished?

The fact still remains that Zanu PF is rigging these elections to secure Zanu PF majority and the presidency. The party knows that the days of de facto one-party state are over and so it has allowed a few opposition members to win seats to maintain the multi-party democracy facade.

People like Mliswa and Tendai Biti would like the people to believe the present system is working but the truth is it not working. As long as Zanu PF is able to rig the elections it has always done as it damn well pleased. The bull of Norton did not stop the looting of our diamonds, gold, etc. He did not stop the passing of obnoxious laws like the Patriotic Bill.

“Look, you can't keep on participating in flawed electoral processes that serve to give big benefits to dictators such as Robert Mugabe. Mugabe has perfected the art of winning elections. So it will be very foolish for the opposition to continue legitimizing these sham elections which don't deliver. This country will go through a serious economic crisis in 2020 caused by Zanu PF. And yet, this is the only country where a government doesn't perform, it is encouraged by a super majority in parliament,” said Tendai Biti in a 2015 interview with Isaac Mugabi.

“So you can't continue subjecting Zimbabweans to processes where their hopes just get crushed.”

Mliswa, Biti and all the other opposition parties and individuals participating in these flawed elections are giving Zanu PF legitimacy for the sake of the few gravy train seat on offer as bait. If we are serious about end this failed state then we must also be serious about reforms before elections and not allowed ourselves to be fooled by these keeping Zanu PF in power for 30 pieces of silver!

“Mnangagwa knows that the economy is campaigning heavily against him. He is sure that his 5 years in office has no achievement so it is convincing voters to do the right thing...vote him out. Mnangagwa has no Manifesto nor message to the people of Zimbabwe that's why he has resorted to these kindergarten jokes. His 2023 campaign message is empty, uninspiring and hopeless!!”

Of course, Mnangagwa knows that the Zimbabwe economy is in total meltdown and the people would vote him and Zanu PF out of office, they would have done so decades ago, if these elections were free, fair and credible. They are not, Zanu PF is rigging these elections. The party has rigged elections ever since the country’s independence in 1980!

What is infuriating here is that the nation had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms and end the curse of rigged elections during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and you Chitando and your fellow MDC MPs, ministers and Prime Minister Tsvangirai wasted the opportunity. You lot failed to implement even one reform. You know Zanu PF is rigging these elections and that participating will only give the regime legitimacy. You are participating regardless out of greed.

You are selling out the nation’s hope to end the curse of rigged elections and bad governance for 30 pieces of silver! You are one of CCC’s candidates for Masvingo Province senators. You are nothing more than the modern day Judas Iscariot!

    19th July 2023

    By Wezhira Munya

Yesterday, at around 4 pm, Gutu South Zanu PF members chased Gutu South Citizens Coalition for Change [CCC] aspiring member of parliament, Mr. Hamandishe Gobvu.”

This madness will only be stopped by implementing the 23 reform recommendations in the 2018 EU Election Observer Mission report, which both Zanu PF and CCC have ignored. CCC’s so-called winning in rigged elections strategies are just hot air, a smoke screen to hide the real reason behind the party’s stubborn insistence in participating in these flawed elections. Greed!

Those who follow leaders blindly, no questioned asked, are the blind. And those arguing that we must all follow the herd are themselves stupid and blind, they believe whatever the mob does must be right because they constitute the majority. Since when has majority been synonymous with right, truth and facts!

I am here to make sure that everyone of the wildebeest herd knows Zanu PF is rigging these elections, CCC are participating out of greed and that the herd is being taken for fools participating to give legitimacy to Zanu PF and perpetuating their own suffering! I am here to hammer that message home!
I am not concerned about what the herd “is interested to hear”. I am concerned about what the herd MUST hear! The difference is subtle but to a discerning mind it as clear as day and night.

The 2008 elections were so flawed getting 73% of the votes was not good enough for Tsvangirai to get the keys into State House and the wanton violence during the runoff were so outrageous that anyone, anyone at all, with half a brain should have realised that this madness MUST be stopped. SADC leaders did their bit in forcing Mugabe and Zanu PF to agree on the need for democratic reforms. The GNU was tasked to implement the reforms.

Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends failed to implement even one token reform in five years. MDC/CCC have participated in these flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy out of greed. If this is not high treason, then what is!

“What do you reckon is the best thing to do at the stage we're at now?”

This is a question CCC leaders and their fanatical wildebeest herd like to ask. Ever since the 2008 watershed elections they have been told again and again that they must implement the democratic reforms and stop Zanu PF rigging the elections, they have ignored that advice. The EU has even produced a list of 23 reform recommendations the country must implement to stop this madness of rigged elections. Once again CCC leaders have completely ignored the EU.

Chamisa and company were falling over each other on 21 June 2023, submitting the nomination papers knowing fully well that ZEC had failed to produce something as basic as a verified voters’ roll. Proof the opposition was hell bent on participating in these elections.
Now Chamisa and company are asking “We cannot implement reforms. We cannot postpone the election. We have no choice but to participate!” And are expecting us all to endorse that position. We must not fall into that trap. We must stand firm and remind Chamisa et all they have had 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, to implement the democratic reforms; why have they wasted all these years?

As for the ordinary Zimbabwean, participating in these flawed elections will not change the predetermined Zanu PF victory, that is as clear as day; all it will do is give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the dictatorship. Of course, it is insane to participate.

If you have been warned the river is infested with crocodiles and you can the replies in the water for yourself. Only a fool will go ahead and take the plunge “because I have come this far, I might as well take a chance!”

One of the reason why Zimbabwe is a failed state is we have more than our fair share of mentally challenged individual, you cannot reason with someone whose bran has ossified into fat.

If anyone with half a brain is warned that the elections are so flawed you cannot change the predetermined Zanu PF victory and that by participating you will give the regime legitimacy. It will be obvious that participating is foolish. In Zimbabwe many people would ask you, what they should do? And some are still participating even after you explained.

It is tough enough to rig elections now Mnangagwa has to be doubly careful details of his rigging are not leaked out. Will these loud and bold billboard advert embolden some one in his own inner circle to switch sides and double cross him?

  17. President Chamisa Addresses More Than 40,000 CCC Members in Zvishavane

    20 July 2023

    By Wezhira Munya

Yesterday, at 5 pm, the youthful and energetic Citizens Coalition for Change President, Nelson Chamisa, addressed his third and final rally in Zvishavane.

Approximately over 40,000 citizens attended this rally, as CCC's popularity increases.

[See CCC Zvishavane rally in the picture]

Earlier yesterday, President Chamisa had addressed highly subscribed rallies at Chachacha business centre at 10 am and then Mandamabwe Business Centre, Chivi, at 2 pm.

Zvishavane came to a standstill as Cyclone Chamisa swept through, with the mining town painted yellow.”

Zanu PF lost the people’s support decades ago but has remained in power because the party rigged the elections. The 2008 elections were a water shed in that the regime showed the world shocking depth of depravity the party would go to win the elections. SADC and AU refused to endorse Zanu PF’s election victory, for the first time ever, and the regional body forced Zanu PF to sign the 2008 Global Political Agreement, agreeing to the need for democratic reforms designed to restore the individual freedoms and rights and prevent a repeat of the 2008 election blatant cheating and wanton violence.

The primary task of 2008 to 2013 GNU was to implement the democratic reforms. Alas! Not even one token reform was implemented. Mugabe bribed the MDC leaders with the trappings of high office and the rest is history.

“Mazivanhu eMDC adzidza kudya anyerere!” (MDC leaders have learned to enjoy the gravy train good life; they will never rock the boat!) boasted the Zanu PF thugs when asked why MDC were not implementing the reforms.

MDC/CCC leaders have not only sold out by failing to implement reforms but are compounding the situation by insisting on participating in these flawed elections knowing fully well that doing so will give Zanu PF legitimacy.

Zimbabwe is a failed state; basic services like education and health care have collapsed and already 49% of our people are living in abject poverty. Another five more years of this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship is unthinkable and yet it is a certainty. Zanu PF is rigging these 2023 elections and CCC leaders know this but pretend the party will “win big” regardless.

How long are we going to allow this madness of rigged elections to continue whilst those entrusted to implement the reforms and end the curse pretend they have winning in rigged elections strategies? How anyone can still believe in these hot air strategies after 43 years of Zanu PF rigging elections, beggars belief!

Those who will not learn from history are destined to repeat the same mistakes over and over again. It is insane that even after 43 years of independence, in this day and age, we are still have no clue what constitute free, fair and credible elections. We really are doomed; there is no getting out of this hell-hole on the back of winning rigged elections!

You are 100% right, E D is panicking but the key point is he is able to do something about it - the vote rigging juggernaut is in overdrive! People are being forced to attend Zanu PF cell meeting, at least once a week, where a register of attendees is kept. The same register will be used to mark off people as they go in to vote.

The worst result Zanu PF is projecting is Mnangagwa failing to win 50% plus one. The system will see to it that Chamisa does not win the 50% plus one. During the runoff, Zanu PF will simply target those who on the Polling Station voters’ roll minus those on the party’s own cell register who voted for the party. “It would be better for them to kill themselves!” the party has been warning.

It is shocking that even after 43 years of rigged elections the penny has not dropped on the sheer futility of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuating the failed state.

Zanu PF has refined its vote rigging tactics, the regime has allowed the opposition to win a few gravy train seats and Mnangagwa has spiced this up with the POLAD freebies. Iwe, as a one man band, ita plan. Go to Unity Square and market yourself and your vision. Zvako zve SADC, international community what what..is really passing yourself in a black suit. You get a warm feeling but nobody else notices.”

Everyone has a right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country but like all the other freedoms and rights we all have a duty of care to our fellow man to make sure in exercising our freedom or right we do not harm others.

If you keep participating in a flawed election, so flawed getting 73% of the votes was not good enough to get Tsvangirai into State House, knowing participating will only give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate your fellow country men’s suffering and you still participate. To start with if elections are rigged then, per se, many people are being denied their right to a meaningful vote.

So it is nonsensical to claim that you have the right to participating in flawed elections because in exercising that right you are giving legitimacy to vote rigging Zanu PF, perpetuating the dictatorship that is denying others their freedoms and rights.

If you are participating expecting a different result after 43 years of rigged elections that is insanity (village idiot = insane pick your pick, I am not interested in semantics). You are right there. Zanu PF’s plan A is to frogmarch the voters to secure a victory for Mnangagwa in the first round. Plan B is to make sure Chamisa is denied the 50% plus one and force a runoff. During the runoff the party will simply target all those from each Polling Station who did not vote for Mnangagwa. They will know them from their own register of all those who voted on 23 August.

“Pakaita rerani hapachina kutaurirana. Ugona kufuma wakafa, ndokuti zvinhu svinake! Kana kuti yuzviuraya vasati vakusvikira. … Hatisi kukuchichidzirai. Of corse, this is not an empty threat; this would be the 2008 Operation Mavhotera papi mark 2! Mnangagwa knows all about that campaign of terror because he was the one who initiated and conducted it.

The 2008 runoff lasted three months, Zanu PF’s plan B is already operational. Voting day is 23 August, presidential results will be declare 28 August, latest and runoff voting is 2 September. 2008 Operation Mavhotera papi took 3 months to execute Operation Mavhotera papi mark 2 will be done and dusted in less than 2 weeks because all the preparatory work is happening right now.

So you think you are the one thinking about the future generation by participating in flawed elections, so flawed getting 73% of the votes was not good enough to get Tsvangirai into State House, only to give legitimacy to Zanu PF and thus perpetuating the dictatorship.

What Zanu PF has done is fooled MDC/CCC leaders into giving up implementing reforms and the right to free elections on the believe the party can win rigged elections. The CCC wildebeest herd has swallowed the bait, hook, line and sinker, as usual. At least Chamisa and company are getting the bait the herd is getting nothing but the pain of the hook ripping open the cheek.

Zanu PF is rigging these elections and you are only participating to give the regime legitimacy!

You should know that in participating in these flawed elections, so flawed getting 73% of the votes was not good enough to get Tsvangirai into State House, only you will do is give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the dictatorship.

Of course it is insane that after 43 years of Zanu PF rigging elections you are still expecting a different result. Don't expect me to shower you with praise for your insanity and recklessness!

  31. Mnangagwa is a buffoon and he has been in power these last 43 years only because he rigs elections. The only clever thing Zanu PF did during the GNU was to outwit Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC banded mongoose to give up reform and free and fair elections. Outwitting a mongoose and its wildebeest herd followers was not exactly a challenge.

The banded mongooses now know they are participating in these elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy for the sake of a few gravy train seats. Their wildebeest herd followers are participating because they believe the rubbish from the mongoose that they have winning in rigged election strategies. They still believe CCC will win big even after 43 years of Zanu PF rigging elections. The wake up call will come on 24 August - not that it will last, they will revert to their default setting.

  32. Only a village idiot like Malema can argue that Zanu PF vote rigging can be overwhelmed if people voted in numbers. How?

Zanu PF vote rigging includes capture of the rural voters. The party has made rural areas no - go areas for the opposition and will frogmarch the rural voters to vote for Zanu PF.

Forget the bull about your vote is your secret; not so in Zimbabwe and that is why the regime has increased the number of Polling Stations from 10 per constituency in 2008 to over 60 this year and the constituency voters’ roll was scrap to a Polling Station voters’ roll. The party will KNOW who did not vote for Zanu PF!

CCC promised to have 6 m new voters registered for 2023 but as of 30 May 2022 only 1/4 m had registered or 4% of the 6 m target. Stopping the opposition supporters registering is part and parcel of the vote rigging.

Zanu PF has denied 3 m Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote for no other reason than that they are not likely to vote for the party and the party will not have a chance to rig that vote.

In 2008 Tsvangirai got 73% of the votes but still failed to get the keys to State House. Is Malema suggesting 73% is NOT overwhelming enough? Given the challenges above alone, it is clear Zanu PF will have enough votes to reach 27% since that is the new threshold for a Zanu PF victory.

SADC leaders were right to task Zimbabwe’s 2008 to 2013 GNU to implement the democratic reforms as the way forward. Now we have dimwits like Malema telling us we can win rigged elections, so flawed 73% is not good enough! The price the nation has to pay for failing to sort its problems, now every the regime’s village idiots are giving their stupid advice!

  33. Like all the other opposition candidates participating in these 2023 elections; it is either Valerio is ignorant and naive and so does not know the elections are flawed and that participating will only give Zanu PF legitimacy. Or she knows that and is participating regardless because she is after the few gravy train seats on offer as bait including the POLAD freebies.

Ignorance and greed are the qualities that we should all shun. They are bad enough in the ordinary people they are intolerable in a leader because once in power they will become sell out and tyrants causing the suffering and deaths of millions as we can see from MDC/CCC and Zanu PF.

  34. In Zimbabwe the people were short changed first by Zanu PF by being denied a meaningful say in the governance of the country. Zanu PF has rigged elections ever since the country's independence in 1980.

The people have risked life and limb to elect MDC/CCC leaders into power on the promise the party would deliver the democratic changes necessary to restore povo’s freedoms and rights. After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU, Chamisa et al has not only sold out by failing to to implement even one token reform but are keeping Zanu PF in power and perpetuating the dictatorship by participating in flawed elections out of greed. What is more, they know it!

"We can't be rigged - handidyike!" says Chamisa.

This is nauseating, it really is. Chamisa et al were elected on ticket to deliver democratic changes, as the original party name implied - Movement for Democratic Change. After 23 years, 5 of which in the GNU where they had the golden opportunity to implement the democratic reforms, they have failed to implement even one reform. And so Zanu PF has retained all its tyrannical powers including the carte blanche powers to rig elections.

SADC leaders proposed the 2008 to 2013 GNU and its primary purpose was to implement reforms. When it was clear no meaning reforms had been implemented SDC leaders wanted the 2013 elections postposed and warned Morgan Tsvangirai and company the elections will be rigged without reforms. The warning fell on deaf ears.

The EU made 23 reform recommendations after the 2018 elections. Both Zanu PF and CCC have ignored the recommendations.

Even now, with all the evidence that Zanu PF is once again rigging these elections, here is some one stubbornly proclaiming that is going to defy the odds and win these elections. Whether he believes the elections are free and fair or that his so called winning in rigged elections strategies are working it is not clear. What matters is that Chamisa and his CCC are winning.

If Chamisa and company lost these elections and the process was free, fair and credible, then fair enough. If he loses these elections and the process is indeed flawed and, because of his foolishness and greed insisted in the elections going ahead and thus gave Zanu PF legitimacy once again then he and his CCC friends must know this is treasonous betrayal of the nation. Clearly a habit of both Chamisa and his colleagues and this time them must know that they will not get away with it!

"We can't be rigged!” You damn well be right this time!

Educating the ordinary Zimbabweans who are being conned to believe Chamisa has winning in rigged elections to hide the real reason he and his friends are participating in these elections is greed.

Expose some of the village idiots who are calling for participating in these flawed elections for who they really are - VILLGE IDIOTS.

    Plan A:

Set up party cells and coerce people to attend by keeping attendance register. Use same register to mark off voters on voting day. The party must deliver Mnangagwa victory or at worst make sure there is a runoff

    Plan B:

Use the Cell attendance register to pick those who did NOT vote for ED. Execute Operation Mavhotera Papi Mark 2 (Mark 1 took 3 months this one will take less than 2 weeks, it will be short, sharp but just as deadly. There will be blood shed!

Look at Mwonzora, he will never wake up wherever he is sleeping. This year, the CCC party has broken a 43-year history in Chiredzi South after it managed to field aspiring councillors in all wards and a member of parliament to participate in the forthcoming harmonized elections.”

Zimbabweans must now wake up to the reality that CCC has given up on implementing reforms and ensuring free, fair and credible elections. “Thank you but what did Chamisa benefit which you said they go for elections to fill their pockets? Does he gain anything from Zanu by going for elections, bcz last time I heard he refused money.”

Chamisa was one of the ministers in the GNU and he took the ministerial limo and all the other trappings of power like everyone else. So I do not know where you getting that nonsense he did not benefit.

Coltart refused to accept the ministerial limo during the GNU but don’t be fooled with that because he accepted all the other benefit including the generous salary and allowance. During one of his globe-trotting trips as minister he was even singing Mugabe’s praises, no wonder he too did not submit even one reform proposal.

As losing presidential candidate Chamisa refused to join POLAD for the freebies but only because he did not want to be put on par with the other losing candidate. He took his 20% or so paid to party leaders from the annual national budget allocation for Political parties finance act plus whatever else the leader get from the party’s other resources.

“Last night I was briefed by my law partner Josephat Tshuma who is part of the CCC legal team opposing the spurious application brought by Zanu-PF surrogates to set aside the nomination of the 12 CCC MP candidates for Bulawayo.

    Zanu-PF's intention is threefold:

Zanu-PF knows it cannot win a single seat in Bulawayo where recent opinion polls show it has minimal support and is trying to win via the back door of the Courts.

    2. In any event the case is designed to distract CCC in its stronghold and drain it of resources needed for campaigning.

    3. Even if Zanu-PF loses the case it will then be able to tout that as evidence of a fair ZEC and independent courts, which it desperately needs to do for much bigger legal battles to come especially the Presidential elections, which it can only win through rigging on an unprecedented scale.”

The price the nation must pay for Coltart and his friends’ greed in participating in the flawed elections and perpetuating the Zanu PF dictatorship is the deepening economic, social and political crisis making Zimbabwe a failed state.

Going forward Zimbabwe has four options:

continue the present status quo in Zanu PF rigs the elections, CCC participate for a share of the spoils of power and the nation continue to sink deeper and deeper into the abyss

the people make the extra human sacrifice against the Zanu PF onslaught and defy all the Zanu PF shenanigans to so that not even Zanu PF winning on an unprecedented scale can deliver a Mnangagwa victory in the first round. And hope that SADC will not grant Zanu PF after the inevitable wanton violence that will accompany the runoff.

the only other option for change is through violence, either street protests and or military coup. The 2017 military coup removed one dictator only to replace him with another.

The best option is for the nation to have a new GNU in which all effort must be made to implement all the democratic reforms to ensure free, fair and credible elections.

Neither one of the first three options is ever likely to produce a stable and democratic Zimbabwe because in all cases the temptation of the new regime to consolidate its own hold on power by not implementing reforms is irresistible.
