"CCC is winning 2023, I will be Minister of Local Gvt and you ambassadors" Chibaya tell diasporans. How presumptuous. N Garikai

Amos Chibaya, CCC national organising secretary, told his audience in Birmingham CCC will win the 2023 elections and they should prepare a skills data base. The CCC led government will appointing ambassadors, Permanent Secretaries, etc. He has already told Chamisa he has his eyes on the local government minister cabinet role was his.

It was sweet music to Zimbabwe diasporans; they swallowed the bait, hook, line and sinker! How naïve; Zanu PF is rigging these elections and they have done nothing to stop the rigging and are, instead, sharing out the spoils of the imaginary electoral victory!

Amos Chibaya and other CCC party leaders are in UK on mission to raise funds for the upcoming 2023 elections. No doubt the hooked diasporans will loosen up their purses and bankroll the party’s campaign.

Whatever skills these men and women in the diaspora have, it certainly does not include common sense. The common sense to realise that Zimbabwe’s elections are a farce and the number one challenge is to put an end to the insanity of participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy.

The great physicist, Albert Einstein said insanity of doing something over and over again expecting a different result. Zimbabweans have been participating in these flawed and illegal elections; so, flawed that in the March 2008 MDC garnered 73% of the votes and still failed to win power; for 42 years and still expect a different result. If that is not proof of collective insanity, what is!

Zanu PF is rigging the 2023 elections just as blatantly as it has rigged elections in the past. There evidence of the rigging is there for all to see. Last year Patrick Chinamasa, then Acting Zanu PF spokesperson, announced that the Zanu PF government will not honour Mnangagwa’s promise in 2018 to grant diaspora vote “as long as the sanctions imposed by the West remain.” The sanctions include travel ban on some Zanu PF leaders and thus putting the regime at an unfair electoral disadvantage as regarding winning the diaspora votes. All nonsense, of course.

The right to a meaningful say in the governance of one’s country is an inalienable right enshrined in the UN Universal Human Rights Declaration. To deny Zimbabweans in the diaspora their fundamental right because Zanu PF has a quarrel with the West is an outrage. What man in his right mind would quarrel with his neighbour and take it on his wife and children? No society would ever tolerate such barbarism!

Even if we were to accept the argument that Zanu PF would be at an electoral disadvantage because its big gunners will not campaign freely in these Western nations that have imposed travel ban. Why is the regime denying the vote to those Zimbabweans in neighbouring SADC countries and beyond which have not imposed any sanctions on the regime?

The truth of the matter is Zanu PF denying those in the diaspora the vote for two reasons:

1)     Many of the Zimbabweans in the diaspora are there as economic and/or political refugees and they blame Zanu PF misrule for their situation. It is obvious many of them would therefore not vote for Zanu PF.

2)     Zanu PF has corrupted all the country’s state institutions including ZEC, Police, Army, etc. giving the regime total controls of every aspect of election process and with it the unlimited opportunity to rig elections. Still, rigging elections is dirty work and the party has not always succeeded in the dirty work under wraps as in the 2008 elections. Zanu PF would have to rig the diaspora vote and keeping that a secrete would be near impossible. Denying those in the diaspora the vote was by far the easier option than rigging that vote!

There are 3 million adult Zimbabweans in the diaspora, using Zanu PF’s own figure; a very significant number given Mnangagwa won the 2018 elections with 2.4 million votes. So, the diaspora vote constitutes 37% of the potential 8 million voters.

How can the elections be free, fair and credible when one contestant is allowed to cherry pick the voters and deny 37% the vote?

So, if Amos Chibaya and his fellow CCC leaders had any common sense they would be fighting tooth and nail to secure the 3 million in the diaspora have a vote. Indeed, should have implemented the necessary reforms to guarantee diaspora vote during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. They failed to implement even one reform in five years.

Whilst SADC and many in the international community were outraged by MDC leaders’ failure to implement reforms and deserted MDC in droves. Many Zimbabweans, including those in the diaspora, did not even realise the primary purpose of the GNU was to implement reforms. Even now with the benefit of hindsight many Zimbabweans still have no clue what the GNU was for much less that MDC leaders sold out big time!

Zimbabwe is a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent and murderous Zanu PF thugs who have rigged elections to stay in power. Zimbabwe has become the textbook case of a failed state ruled by men and women whose greed for power and loot is insatiable. They are blind to the common sense reality that without rule of law the nation is doomed.

It is the corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF thugs who have landed us into this economic and political mess. It is the equally corrupt, incompetent and utterly useless MDC/CCC leaders who have wasted many golden opportunities to end the Zanu PF dictatorship and kept us stuck in the mess. The nation has been looking to its intelligentsia to finally get us out of this hell-on-earth of our own making.

The overwhelming majority of Zimbabwe’s so-called intelligentsia are in the diaspora and judging from the glassy-eyed reaction to Chibaya’s idiotic offer of ambassadorship, etc.; the intelligentsia are just as naïve, gullible, and greedy as the political leaders. They don’t even have the common sense to know it is insane to be sharing the spoils of election victory when Zanu PF still enjoy the carte blanche powers to rig elections; especially after 42 years of rigged elections!

“CCC will win the 2023 elections, I will be Minister of Local Government and you will be appointed ambassadors and Permanent Secretaries!” How presumptuous especial when Chibaya and co wasted the golden opportunity to secure diaspora vote implement reforms and secure diaspora vote. Zanu PF is rigging the 2023 elections, that is the reality!

Is this the only video by white person that you have seen in the last 20 years? How many times have the British and Americans said sanctions are NOT the root cause of Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown, for example. You have picked this video because it confirms the Zanu PF narrative you already consider the whole truth and nothing but the truth. How typical!
I have listened to this video, Zanu PF propaganda and made my own observations of historic facts and came up with the conclusion that sanctions have contributed 5%, corruption 60%, mismanagement 30% and other causes 5% to Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown. I ask you once again what is your own percentage contributions?

He whole heartedly accepted everything said in the video for no other reason than that it reaffirmed the Zanu PF propaganda narrative. With these idiots everything is vague, you will be lucky to get them to give your anything substantive and certainly not factual.
The sanctions issue is still on the national agenda purely because we have idiots who will never accept facts! We need to move on. Sanctions will remain and they can continue to fume and froth! We have better things to do, such as making sure Zanu PF does not rig 2023 elections and get away with it again; they don't!

The government has just announced that, after the recent vetting of liberation struggle veterans, their numbers had somehow miraculously ballooned from a previous 34,000 to a staggering 142,000, since 1994 - all of whom are obviously entitled to some handsome benefits from taxpayers' money.

Instead, as is the natural course of life, for the number to be significantly declining - as most get older and gradually pass away - the number is actually increasing, as if each day, more war veterans of the 1960s and 70s struggle are being born!

We, then, have cabinet ministers, their deputies, and our elected legislators sharing between themselves a whooping US$31 million - through supposed 'housing loans' - with, the first group getting US$500,000, the second US$350,000, and finally MPs US$40,000 each.

Let us move on to the president and his vice who, each, is earning a shocking US$8,946 per month - bringing their combined annual wage bill to US$214,704!

There is the flagrant pillaging of mineral resources - whereby, it is estimated that each year the country loses US$1,5 billion of gold due to smuggling, with over US$25 billion of diamond revenue never having reached state coffers over the past 15 years, and our raw ore, such as lithium, being looted daily - all this, without anyone ever having been brought to book.
Zanu PF has again and again showed the party would willingly do anything, anything at all even if would cause serious economic disruption and even the suffering and deaths of many as long as the action will help the party’s no regime change agenda. In 1983, just three years after the country’s independence, Zanu PF launched the Gukurahundi Massacre whose sole purpose was to force PF Zapu to join Zanu PF and thus clear the deck for the imposition of the de facto one party dictatorship. Over 20 000 innocent lives were lost during Gukurahundi and another 20 000 were lost to retain the dictatorship.
In 1996 Zanu PF paid Z$50 000 to all war veterans to buy their support and kicking starting the country’s inflation.
In the late 1990s the regime was running out of wealth to give away to party loyalists and so Mugabe turned to the one asset still there – land. The seizure of white owned farms resulted in the collapse of the agricultural sector and with it the national economy.
When Mnangagwa’s “Zimbabwe is open for business!” failed to revive the economy the regime has expended looting and lawlessness to new levels. The new rule of thumb is the regime will allow you to do anything as long as in return you will help Zanu PF stay in power.
Someone once said that Zanu PF would rather burn down Zimbabwe than see someone else rule the country. Well the burning down has started in earnest!

  4. When Amos Chibaya told his diaspora audience to submit their skills data base for appointments as ambassadors, permanent secretaries, etc. the eyes of his audience popped out and lit up fireflies in the dark! If anyone of them had wanted to ask the CCC delegates why the party had failed to implement even one token reform in 22 years, the words were taken out of their mouths and their minds with the prospect of being ambassador!
Zimbabwe is a failed nation, a pariah state, because the country had the great misfortune of finding herself ruled by corrupt, incompetent and murderous thugs who did not care about rule of law, justice and the rights and dignity of others. All they care about is to secure absolute power and enjoy the fluence, wealth and extravagant lifestyle that it promised.
Instead of building a just society with the rule of law at its centre Zanu PF imposed the de facto one-party dictatorship where the only law that mattered was survival of the meanest! The criminal waste in the nation’s human and material resource born out of the corruption and lawlessness left the country in economic ruins and political paralysis.
The one group in society who could and should have done something to stop Zanu PF thugs and MDC sell-out dragged the nation into this hell-on-earth are the intelligentsia. Instead of holding the politicians to democratic account the intelligentsia have been quick off the mark to join them in the looting and lawlessness.
Of course, people like Professor Mthuli Ncube and Kirsty Coventry knew that Zanu PF rigged the 2018 elections but their eyes lit up when they were offered ministerial post by the dictator. Chibaya knew the Zimbabweans in the diaspora will forget and forgive MDC/CCC for selling out on reforms if he dangled ambassadorships in their faces.
Intelligentsia, when they don’t even have the common sense realise Zanu PF has denied them their fundamental right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. They are already dreaming of being ambassadors oblivious of the reality that they must first stop Zanu PF rigging elections. A naïve and presumptuous intelligentsia has become a curse to the nation!

“There is a huge discrepancy between recent by elections, voter registration , campaign, election system VERSUS the prediction - unless he knows something many don’t.”
You are right CCC know Zanu PF is rigging these elections, that their participation will give Zanu PF legitimacy and, most important of all they are participating regardless because they are after the few gravy train seats Zanu PF is giving away.
They have to boast of winning the elections and promise ambassadorial appointment galore to hide their greed and to galvanize the base. Trust me, many in the diaspora will be working their tails off to raise money to bankroll CCC’s election campaign.
Zanu PF is rigging these elections but Chamisa and his fanatical supporters refuse to seen it. Saul, on the road to Damascus, was blinded by the light; CCC supporters are blinded by greed!

  6. Ignorance is a curse worse than death! Zanu PF has 1001 ways of rigging elections and here is someone who she knows them all when she knows f-all! Zanu PF has increased the number of polling stations from 10 per constituency to 50 and people can only vote at one Polling Station and nowhere else.
How anyone can Zanu PF cannot figure out how 200 or so people voted when the party officials know each one of them beggars belief. The voters in the rural areas are frog marched to be certain the vote.
Indeed, even if we still have 10 Polling Stations and one common voters’ roll as was the case in 2008, Zanu PF only has to look at the result and punish everyone in that constituency if the party lost. Collective punishment, that is what Operation Mavhotera papi was about!
It is sad that after 42 years of rigged elections we still listen to the idiotic winning in rigged elections arguments! All because we elected village idiots who failed to implement even one reform even when they had the golden opportunity to do so!

  7. The government of Botswana has issued a warrant of arrest for its former President Ian Seretse Khama.

In a statement issued on 29 December 2022, the Botswana Government accused Ian Khama of unlawful possession of firearms in a case that back dates to 2016.
In 2008 SADC broke with its traditional position of turning a blind eye to Zanu PF rigged elections and for the first time refused to rubber stamp the rigged elections and grant the regime legitimacy. Mugabe was forced to sign the Global Political Agreement accepting the need for Zimbabwe to implement democratic reforms designed to restore the rule of law and the freedoms and rights of the people including the right to free elections and right life.
It is a national shame and tragedy that Morgan Tsvangirai and his MDC friends, who were tasked to implement the reforms, sold out. The failed to implement even one reform in five years.
The one SADC leader who stood up against Mugabe and tried his best to have the reform implement was Ian Khama, President of Botswana. When the 2013 constitution was produced, he was the only SADC leader to dare point out its many serious shortcomings. It is no wonder Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs attacked President Khama at every opportunity.
Since the 2013 elections SADC leaders have reverted to the idiotic position of endorsing rigged Zanu PF elections. Zanu PF is rigging these 2023 elections and is counting on SADC leaders, including the present President Masisi of Botswana, to once again endorse the rigged elections and grant the regime legitimacy.
President Masisi has done nothing to suggest he is a democratic and I would be inclined to believe the charges against his predecessor are drummed up charges. The signs are Botswana’s days as a stable, free and prosperous democratic country are drawing to an end with the entry of the usual mediocre leaders or ruthless tyrants – the norm in Africa.

  8. New political party calls for election boycott.
Are they boycotting the elections because they have no hope of winning the few seats Zanu PF is giving away - which is why Mwonzora's MDC A has not been contesting the recent by elections. Or are they boycotting the elections because the realise the process is a farce and boycotting is the only rational option.
The most important point is those participating in these flawed elections out of greed, ignorance or both are giving Zanu PF legitimacy and this madness must be stopped. And therefore those who are boycotting these elections for whatever reason, right or wrong, are doing the right thing.
People like Chamisa, Biti, etc. cannot boycott these elections now having participated all along out of greed and, worst of all, having sold out by failing to implement the reforms to stop the rigging. But even these dimwits should boycott the elections now because their position of participating in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy is unsustainable.

  9. News in the streets of Harare and other major towns and cities is that electricity for Christmas period was a present from Zambian President.

People claim that President of Zambian donated electricity to Zimbabweans in order for them to enjoy Christmas like other SADC citizens.
This reminds me of the sheep and cows in Animal Farm praising Napoleon. "How good this water tastes, thanks to comrade Napoleon!" I never thought we in Zimbabwe would sink to the same depths of intellectual depravity!
Zimbabwe is stuck with this corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship because Nelson Chamisa and co sold out by failing to implement even one reform in 22 years, 5 of which in the GNU. Worse still, they are the ones who are insisting in participating in these flawed elections giving Zanu PF legitimacy for the sake of a few gravy train seats.
Instead of holding these MDC/CCC sell-outs to account we are being asked to sing their praise for an unsubstantiated and nonsensical rumour of a few hours of electricity, a gift from Chamisa’s Zambian friend! Only Chitando, the honourable former MDC MP for Masvingo, would lead from the front is the singing; what a village idiot!

“Boycotting Elections is a very powerful weapon, but it only works in a political situation where all contesting Parties agree to boycott.”
Nonsense! Zanu PF and PF Zapu boycotted the 1978 internal settlement and Ian Smith failed to get political legitimacy although Muzorewa and Sithole participated.
The two MDC factions led by Welshman Ncube and Morgan Tsvangirai did not boycott the 2013 elections, when it would have been most effective since SADC leaders themselves were the ones who had called for the boycott, for three reasons:
    1) Greed; both knew Zanu PF was offering a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate
    2) They could not boycott the elections to press for reforms when they had never submitted even one reform in the five years of the GNU.
    3) As much as participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy is clearly unsustainable, particularly now when even some of CCC’s hardcore supporters can see they are being conned by the leaders to hide their greed, still Chamisa and company will continue participating because doing otherwise is tantamount to admitting they sold out. They do not have the intellect nor heart for that!

“I would just ask two questions
Is the news relevant to public interest
    Is the detail factual

If the answers are YES then my focus is turned on to the MPs and not on Chin’ono.”
There is a mountain of evidence that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent and so it would come as no surprise that this report is factual. Indeed, the issue here is not whether or not MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent, that is a historic fact.
Yes there are some people out there, especially the hardcore MDC/CCC supporters, even now find accepting that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent a bitter pill to swallow. Zimbabwe has more than her fair share of village idiots and hence the reason we are in this mess. We should concern ourselves with historic facts and not the wishful thinking of the village idiots.
Now you know opposition councillors and MP are corrupt and incompetent you can turn your focus on them. To what end and purpose?

“Wilbert if a snake gets into your house, u don’t burn down your house. Instead, you find means and ways of getting the reptile out without destroying your property. Opposition is needed in the country to fight Zanu PF. If the CCC/MDC leaders are found to be corrupt and incompetent, they have to exposed and kicked out of their positions and replaced with competent ones. Corruption is everywhere including democratic societies. The Conservative Party is currently being investigated for siphoning millions of ££ from NHS during the pandemic. Labour Party has also corrupt leaders but no one is saying those parties should be disbanded.”
How typical! You started by comparing CCC leaders with snakes in one’s house and accusing me of burning the house to get rid of the snakes! How anyone can equate accepting historic facts that MDC failing to implement reforms to burning the house beggars belief. You did not say how you will drive the snake out of the house!
“Opposition is needed in the country to fight Zanu PF.” What the F- are you blubbering about now? So now we need the snake in the house!!!!!!
“If the CCC/MDC leaders are found to be corrupt and incompetent!” So now it is not a historic fact but a matter of opinion and supposition that MDC leaders are corrupt and incompetent. After 22 years, 5 of which in the GNU, please tell me why MDC leaders have failed to implement even one reform?
In Animal Farm, George Orwell, describes how Boxer, the horse three times as long to learn the first 5 letters of the alphabet other animals took to learn all 26 letters. He took just as long to learn the next 5 letters. When it was discovered that Boxer had forgotten the first 5 letters everyone gave up.
There are some Zimbabweans who will never ever accept that MDC leaders are corrupt and incompetent, and it is a bloody waste of time to educate and inform them. Their brains have ossified into a useless lump of fat, decades of slothful slumber have taken their toll.
“Corruption is everywhere including democratic societies. The Conservative Party is currently being investigated for siphoning millions of ££ from NHS during the pandemic.” And you, in your infantile and ossified brain think the British people will roll out the red carpet, praise the leaders convicted of corruption and elect them back into office because “corruption is everywhere”.
The real tragedy for Zimbabwe is that we have more than our fair share of braindead citizens and, to crown it all, they have the right to vote!

  13. Here we go again! The task before us is implement the democratic reforms and after 22 years of first pretending to implement the reforms and now we pretend the reforms are not even necessary.
We are being told one’s vote is a secret. Since 2008 Zanu PF has increased the number of polling stations from 2 000 to over 11 000 or 10 per constituency to 54, replaced the constituency voters’ roll with a polling stations voters’ roll and, to top it, will frog march the rural folk to make sure the vote for Zanu PF. It is idiotic to still pretend there is still such a thing as a secret vote in Zimbabwe. Many Zimbabweans are simple folk but not stupid, at least not that stupid, to believe this nonsense that Zanu PF will not know how they voted.
Indeed, even the 2008 electoral system did not disguise the reality of Zanu PF’s defeat and Operation Mavhotera papi punished everyone – it’s called collective punishment and it worked wonders then.

“The snake in house analogy makes sense for me and probably many enlightened problem solvers
I would like to add another example
The house has been burnt by known habitual arsonist
Do we go about berating the fire truck owner who turned up without enough water to put out the fire and failed to extinguish in full
In meantime we knew and still know he owns only a 20lt capacity water tank and another arson attack is imminent .
    What would we do NOW
Surely we would not start asking about why he failed to upgrade his truck NOW
We would rather work with him to upgrade NOW - for me this would be more solution focused
OR contract someone else fully equipped to deal with the approaching attack.”

  15. A wheelbarrow of lithium ore is sold to middlemen for US$10 dollars who will resell to Chinese companies in Harare with a tonne fetching between US$300 and US$450.
The Herald has since reported that police intercepted trucks ferrying lithium to Harare.
The discovery of lithium in Mutoko has changed the face of the area with children also involved in mining the precious stones used to manufacture batteries.
Government recently banned the export of raw lithium in a move meant to promote value addition in line with government’s vision 2030.
In November 2022 cabinet granted war veterans the same mining concessions the regime granted to the Police, Army, CIO and a select few to mine the diamonds in Marange and Chiadzwa. It was the late Edward Chindori Chininga in 2012 who revealed the details of these diamond mining concessions.
The holder of the mining concession was not under any legal obligation to reveal the quantity and quality diamonds mined, to whom they sold them or for how much and who benefited from the said sell. What is real special of these mining concession is that the company and the individual was under no legal obligation to declare their earnings from the mining activities and no thus had no company or individual tax obligations.
In short, these mining concessions are legalised looting racket -period.
In 2016 Mugabe confessed Zimbabwe had lost US$15 billion “to diamond swindlers”.
In 2019 Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor, Dr John Mangudya, said the country was losing US$1.2 billion per year to gold smugglers. The looting licences had been extended to gold panners.
Now the looting has been extended to platinum and lithium.
The tragedy with all this looting is four-fold, each feeding on the other three:
    - The few, by their very nature only a select few get the mining concessions, are getting filthy rich at the expense of the majority
    - From the award of the mining concession to the sell of the proceeds the whole process is shrouded in secrecy and the bottom line is the nation is short changed
    - The beneficiary of this looting racket are the ones bankrolling Zanu PF’s vote rigging juggernaut – payback. Indeed, the mining concessions are granted on condition the holder help keep Zanu PF in power.
    - The wholesale looting is the epitome of a pariah state, there will be no meaningful economic recovery because no serious investor wants to do business in a pariah state
The country’s natural resources should be the nation’s blessing and yet they have become our worst curse, the bonanza for the nation is now the bonanza of the oppressors.
