"It is with a heavy heart that I announce Foreign Minister Dr SB Moyo has died,” announce Emmerson Mnangagwa.
"Zimbabwe has lost a devoted public servant and a true hero, and I have lost a friend. He fought his entire life so that Zimbabwe could be free. May he rest in peace.”
Minister Moyo died of corona virus.
Judging from the official corona virus data, Zimbabwe has done exceptional well in containing and controlling the virus. However, the reality on the ground tells a totally different story.
Zimbabwe has under reported the corona virus situation for the sake of cheap brownie points. One way of keeping the corona virus figures down was by not testing as rigorously as World Health Organisation recommended and common sense dictated.
Zimbabwe has carried out few tests per capita than most other countries in the region, notably South Africa given the heavy human traffic across the common boarder.
The price of failing to test is many infected individuals would should otherwise be in isolation remain in the community spreading the virus far and wide. And the country is now paying the price for it!
The number of corona virus cases and deaths have soared way above the official figures. The country’s feeble health care service is already overwhelmed; the country is running out of oxygen let alone the fancy equipment like ventilators, PPE, etc.
Whilst the wealth nations have started to roll out a massive vaccination programme; Zimbabwe will have to wait for a year or so for donated vaccine. The corona virus storm has just broken and no one knows how long this wave will last!
Zimbabweans are dying of the corona virus the Zanu PF government has tried hard to deny was spreading!
“His (the late S B Moyo) meticulous planning and execution of pertinent events saved the nation from chaos and bloodshed. He would go on to tackle the pariah status of the nation on his appointment as Foreign Minister,” rejoined Information Minister Monica Mutsvangwa, singing Moyo’s praise.
“This is a terrible and painful loss of a great patriot! He was central to the peaceful transfer of power through the 2017 November restoration of the revolution.”
This is all rubbish and she and the rest of her Zanu PF colleagues know it!
No one of substance was ever fooled into believing the nonsense about the November military coup being “a military assisted transition!” It was a military coup, plain and simple.
The reason why most people did not even bother to denounce the coup is because they were sick and tired of Mugabe and were pleased to see the back of him. They were, however, not exactly bowled over by the new regime because they knew the same junta that toppled Mugabe was the one that had kept the dictator in power all the last 37 years.
Yes Minister Moyo make a big song and dance about how he would re-engage the international community and end Zimbabwe’s isolation. He became Mnangagwa’s principle cheerleader of the “Zimbabwe is open for business!” mantra.
Within months of the coup, the mantra was dead in the water and so too was the re-engagement. The blatant vote rigging in the July 2018 elections left no one in any doubt that Zimbabwe was still a pariah state ruled by (the same) corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous thugs.
Investors are a very shrewd and savvy lot, they do not do business with pariah states, hence the reason the much hoped for economic recovery has never materialised.
History will remember the late S B Moyo as the man who tried to sell the world the lie that the November 2017 military coup was “military assisted transition” - just some idiotic nonsense. The real surprise is he clearly believed the nonsense and so did many of his Zanu PF comrades.

In this case, Zanu PF bigwigs are queuing to praise S B Moyo for jumping from a high Iroko tree, a tree only they can see!
The November 2017 coup was suppossed to save the nation from the economic and political chaos gripping the nation. It did no such thing. The economic meltdown is worse now than ever, the looters have been emboldened and the looting has been in overdrive!

As head of the Covid Management Taskforce, Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri has a lot to answer for and top on that list are:
1) Zimbabwe has consistently carried out the least number of corona virus per capita in the region and without testing it was impossible to know how the virus was spreading. Was the taskforce aware it never had the full picture of what was going on and why did you sit on it?
2) Zimbabwe did promised to test for corona virus regularly frontline workers, all those with corona virus symptoms and those came into close conduct with an infected person. It is self evident that these guidelines were never followed. Was it not the taskforce's responsibility to demand that the guidelines are followed.
3) The official corona virus figures did not make any sense as corona virus cases and deaths reported by Parerenyatwa Hospital alone on one occasion was equal the official figures for the whole country. Zanu PF has been deliberately, for the sake of hiding its blundering incompetence and thus look good, under reporting the seriousness of the corona virus pandemic. Is the taskforce and the regime taking responsibility for the hundreds of thousands if millions of Zimbabweans who have and will be infected by this virus unnecessarily and many have died with others still to follow?
It is typical of our brainwashed society to make a mountain of a mole hill of Oppah's "person grief" at having to admit the corona virus was spreading; something she would have never done as head of the Corona Virus Taskforce!
The interview with Simba Chikanza revealed the truth about the Zanu PF corona virus cover up than anything anyone else has done since the pandemic breakout. I totally, agree the interview will hopefully go some way in forcing this cold hearted regime to address covid-19 with the seriousness and urgency the matter demands. If it was to happen, many human lives will be saved!
January 21, 2021: The United States, through the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), donated 20 brand-new, state-of-the-art ventilators to Solidarity Trust Zimbabwe to help Zimbabweans fight COVID-19.

Where was the Zanu PF spokesperson S K Moyo? Only the other day he was foaming round the mouth denouncing Ambassador B Nichols for failing to denounce what Trump supporters had done on 6 January 2020, storming Capitol Hill. The Americans, on both sides of the political divide, had publicly condemned the mob and many were arrested and would face the music. What else the ambassador expected to add to this the Zanu PF propaganda mill did not say.
The American have demonstrated that they will not treat those who seek to subvert the democratic wishes of the people, even if the subversive lot are one of their own. One can only imagine how much happier the Zanu PF thugs would have been if Trump and his hot-heads had prevailed!
Of course, Zanu PF welcomed the 20 ventilators and no prize in guessing who will be the principal beneficiaries of the donation - Zanu PF ruling elite, including foul-mouth himself if he or his ever got the corona virus. What a bunch of hypocrites!

The regime has successfully under reported the seriousness of the corona virus in Zimbabwe, until now at least. Zimbabwe has one of the lowest corona virus cases and deaths per capita in the region but all because it also has carried out the lowest tests per capita.
There are hundreds of thousands of covid-19 cases and deaths there are not included in the official figures but only because they were never tested.
On paper Zimbabwe’s very low covid-19 figures have earned Zanu PF commendations and the regime has been bragging about it. Falsifying the figures have only helped the virus spread far and wide and fast. The nation is now pay dearly for it!
After decades of enjoying absolute power these Zanu PF thugs have become so pompous they believe themselves to be the smartest creatures to walk this earth. I would not be surprised that S B Moyo went to his grave convinced he and his November 2017 coup plotters had fooled the world into believing there was such a thing "a military assisted transition of power". The buffoon even managed to get the village idiot judge George Chiweshe to rule the coup was "legal, justified and constitutional"!

ReplyDeleteon November 15, 2017, many Zimbabweans woke up to see a new television presenter dressed in military fatigue, tanks rolling on the street of the capital and the once feared Mugabe under house arrest.
"We are only targeting criminals around him who are committing crimes ... that are causing social and economic suffering in the country. As soon as we have accomplished our mission, we expect that the situation will return to normalcy," Moyo added.
Three years since the coup and the social and economic suffering has not gone away; if anything, things are even worse. And we all know why, the criminals notably those involved in the wholesale looting of diamonds in Marange and Chiadzwa have remained and, if anything, the looting has gone into overdrive with the regime giving similar looting licences in other areas such as gold and platinum mining.
S B Moyo was just like Mnangagwa, Chiwenga and many of the other Zanu PF buffoons who got lucky to be promoted way above their level of competence and have become so big headed they believed there was nothing they could not do. There is no doubt that S B Moyo went to his grave believing he outwitted the world with his the coup “is a military assisted transition of power” nonsense! What a buffoon!
The tragedy is why Zimbabweans have allowed themselves to be ruled and ruined by these Zanu PF buffoons for 40 years and counting!!!!!
Nick Mangwana, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, has dismissed rumours that Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana is fighting a tough battle against COVID-19.
ReplyDeleteAnnounced on Twitter, Mangwana said Paul is fine and there is no iota of truth in this and it looks like just someone's sick joke.
The reason why there is all this speculations and rumours about Zanu PF Chefs is because many of them have not been seen in public. Many are holed up in the five star cocoon mansions. Each time they have to go out they come out fully kitted - remember V P Chiwenga in his Space-suit PPE when he visited St Mary Hospital!
God knows how many times workers at Zanu PF HQ and other government offices have been tested for corona virus. Frontline workers like doctors and nurses are the ones who are supposed to be tested regularly but very few have been tested more than twice since the outbreak. Tests kits that should be used to test frontline workers are instead anyone the chefs are likely to come into contact with because the chefs are scarred stiff.
So Paul Mangwana is so scarred of corona virus he is not even answering the phone of text messages! Poor lad, he is afraid he might get the virus if he answered the phone - he is not quiet a full-shilling you see!
When the vaccine becomes available no prizes for guessing who will get the vaccine ahead of everyone else - the chef and their cronies, of course.
