This Zanu PF regime blatantly rigging the corona virus statistics with disastrous consequences to us all!
“The final results as announced by the Electoral Commission contained numerous errors and lacked adequate traceability, transparency and verifiability,” stated the EU Zimbabwe 2018 Election Observer Mission final report.
“(In the period 9 June to 25 July
2020) We have recorded 8 deaths out of 60 patents who were admitted in the red
zone,” a source at Parirenyatwa Hospital told New Zimbabwe.
“Of the bodies that were brought
in dead, 13 tested positive for Covid-19.”
So, Parirenyatwa Hospital alone (not counting the covid-19 deaths from any of the other hospitals in Harare such as Harare Hospital, Avenues Clinic, Chitungwiza Hospital, Wilkins Hospital, etc.) had 21 deaths.
And yet as of today Tuesday 28th July 2020 Zimbabwe had a total of 40 corona virus related deaths, according to the Ministry of Health and Child Care. The breakdown by Province was as follows:

Bulawayo Province 17
Manicaland Province 4
Midlands Province 3
Matabeleland North Province 2
Mashonaland Central Province 1
Mashonaland East Province 1
Mashonaland West Province 1
Matabeleland South Province 1

So, the official death toll of Harare Province is less than half the death toll of Parerinyatwa Hospital alone!
We know that most hospitals and clinics up and down the country have not been testing aggressively all those with covid-19 like symptoms and, as we can see with the Parerinyatwa Hospital, not all their reported covid-19 confirmed cases and deaths have been included in the national total. In short, Zimbabwe’s covid-19 reports, just like the July 2018 election results, are full of errors.
The Ministry of Health and Child Care has been under reporting the covid-19 confirmed cases and deaths.
Zanu PF blatantly rigged the July 2018 elections for the sole purpose of securing election victory. Zanu PF won the commanding 2/3 majority in parliament and Senate plus the party’s candidate, Emmerson Mnangagwa, won the presidency.
The consequence of rigging the elections was to confirm the country as a pariah state ruled by corrupt and lawless thugs and to drive away investors and lenders away. No one wants to do business with thugs, period. And so the economic meltdown, which had started in earnest following the violence seizure of the white-owned farms and the money printing crazy that fuelled inflation to soar to 500 billion per cent, has continued.
Zanu PF is under reporting the corona virus cases in the country for the sole purpose of hiding the regime’s blundering incompetence in the handling of the virus and how hopeless ill-prepared the country is to deal with the pandemic.
South Africa whose population is 4 times that of Zimbabwe has raced ahead with 471 128 confirmed corona virus cases and 7 497 deaths compared to Zimbabwe’s 2 817 confirmed cases and 40 deaths.
If the Zimbabwe government had been testing, tracing and tracking as aggressively as it should then the country’s covid-19 figures would be ¼ of those of SA, at the very best. SA is certainly better equipped to deal with the corona virus pandemic than Zimbabwe. SA’s economy and its health care service are strong compared to those of Zimbabwe which have all but collapse before the covid-19 outbreak.
By under reporting the corona virus cases by a factor of over 40 times makes good reading but it also engenders a false sense of security amongst the populous, who would carry on with their lives without taking even the most basic precaution on the mistaken believe there is no virus. Meanwhile the virus would be spreading far and wide.
Zimbabwe is a very secretive society, most health institutions, media houses, etc. are aware government is under reporting of covid-19 cases and, fearful of Zanu PF reprisal, are saying nothing. And so Zanu PF will get away with the lie the country had a few thousand covid-19 deaths when true figure is hundreds of times that!
Zanu PF blatantly rigged the July 2018 elections and now the party is blatantly under stating the seriousness of the corona virus in Zimbabwe. Under stating the seriousness of the virus is going to cost many, many lives; the party must be held to account for this!

ReplyDeleteIt is with great disappointment that I learnt RBZ and some former executives of Fiscorp under which we were allocated farm equipment have professed ignorance on there being any payment on my part with respect to the items given to me.
I have previously stated that I indeed made a payment, and if anything were left outstanding, I would be happy to receive the relevant invoice and settle the payment. However, nothing has been done except for public shaming of my person.
Be that as it may, I would like to refresh the memory of those who no longer remember the terms under-which we were allocated equipment. On 19 November 2008, I signed a purchase agreement (attached hereto) with Fiscorp Private Limited wherein the following items were listed:
1. Tractor - T405-07
2. Harrow - 1625-06
Understanding the need for this equipment and my dedication to my farming operations, I made the payment the very next day, 20 November 2008 through a CFX electronic funds transfer in the sum of three trillion, three hundred and ninety billion, five hundred and thirty three million, two hundred and seventy five thousand dollars.
Comrade Kasukuwere please do not insult our intelligence! So, by producing this V11 form paying in full for the tractor and harrow you want us to believe you were above corruption. Well tell us then, where did you get the money to pay this bill?
Has it ever occurred to you that you were able to get equipment paid for in foreign currency when the individuals and companies who earned the foreign currency were being robbed blind of their own money?
Did you only receive a tractor and a harrow? If you received more, where are the V11 forms showing you paid for them? Surely you do not expect us to believe you are not corrupt just because you were not invoiced for the items?
A Pandemic is defined as an epidemic of infectious disease that is spreading through human populations across a large region such as a continent or worldwide. This is not a frequent phenomenon and often takes experts and governments by surprise and ill prepared for the swift responses required to save lives.

When the corona virus threatened, the number one priority of every thinking human being would be to do everything to stop the virus spreading and save human lives. Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF cronies were under no illusion that the regime will be up to the task given its checked history of corruption and blundering incompetence. So, for him the challenge was not to save lives but to tighten the regime’s control of information on the virus.
Zanu PF cannot stop the spread of corona virus and, indeed, the decades of Zanu PF misrule will show just how wilfully ill-prepare the country is to deal with corona virus. The party’s strategy was to control the narrative; make a big song and dance about how the country had successfully lined up all its ducks ready to deal with the virus and then falsify the covid-19 cases to give the impression the regime has the virus under control.

The opposition MDC Alliance yesterday said the regime had failed to manage the pandemic, warning of more COVID-19 deaths that a disaster was looming if the situation did not improve.

"The first omission has been the failure to conduct adequate testing for our people. The regime has failed to isolate, to track and to quarantine victims of COVID-19.”
The fact that the country had a corrupt and incompetent government like this Zanu PF regime in power at such a time as now with the corona virus was a great tragedy. The situation has been made a lot worse by having an equally corrupt and incompetent opposition party. Zanu PF has been committing bloody murder, literally, and these MDC idiots have allowed Mnangagwa and company to get away with it!
Zimbabwe is desperate for real political change and, unless the people finally wake-up to the political reality that MDC leaders are running with the hare and hunting with the hounds, there will be no change.
Tendai Biti and his MDC friends are not going to bring about any meaningful change; they had their opportunity to do so during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and they wasted it. All this criticism of Zanu PF by Biti and company is for the sake of forcing Zanu PF to share the spoils of power in a new GNU. The 2008 GNU accomplished nothing and the new GNU will do no better!

Anyone who lives near a funeral yard you would have seen a massive increase in the number of people being buried."
It is true that this Zanu PF regime has been under stating the seriousness of the corona virus cases and deaths. And MDC have played their part in helping the regime hide the truth by saying nothing or worse still praising the regime “corona virus preparedness”!
According to the warrant, Mathuthu is organising and advocating for illegal 31 July demonstrations against the government.

“Furthermore, he is believed to be manufacturing, storing and distributing to members of the public, some materials for use during the illegal demonstration on 31 July.”
Two weeks ago police arrested freelance journalist Hopewell Chin’ono on charges of inciting public violence ahead of this Friday’s demonstrations. Chin’ono is in remand prison after he was denied bail.
These are the same things that the Ian Smith regime used to do in a desperate effort to silence dissent. Zimbabwe has never had free, fair and credible elections and so, other than a change of a few individuals’ faces nothing much has changed. The ruthless repression has continued or be it the volume has now been turned up to full blast!
It is disappointing that we are once again being forced into yet another violent confrontation to force the regime to accept change! The last violent confrontation, the war of independence, failed to deliver democracy and stability, as we have seen these last 40 years, this violent confrontation is not going to do any better.
ZIMBABWE’S confirmed Covid-19 cases stood at 2 879 Wednesday after 62 more people tested positive on the day including 50 locals, the Health Ministry said.

“Sixty two cases tested positive for Covid-19 today (Wednesday). These include 50 local cases and 22 returnees from South Africa who are isolated,” the Health Ministry said in its daily Covid-19 update.
“Today (Wednesday) we regret to report one facility death from Manicaland province. The death is of a female aged 32. As at 29 July 2020, Zimbabwe had 2 879 confirmed cases, including 887 recoveries and 41 deaths.”
Last week, Parerinyatwa Hospital managers were asking government to make covid-19 test at the hospital mandatory. It beggars belief why this has not been done!
Zimbabwe has not been testing, tracing and tracking as aggressively as it should. The reason why the number of new cases has remained relatively low, nothing near the soaring figures we see in SA and other nations, is because the country has not ramped up the number of daily tests. The Ministry of Health used to give a running total of the number of tests carried out but has stopped doing so.
It is already as clear as day that when it comes to corona virus, Zanu PF is determined to under state the seriousness of the virus in the country for no other purpose than to give the false impression that the regime has done exceptionally well in containing the virus. This is criminal negligence at its worse because this has only helped the virus spread far and wide.

ReplyDeleteOn the contrary, there are many covid-19 deaths out there which are not being included in the official record as such but only because the government not been testing all suspect cases as it should. Many more people in Zimbabwe will die of covid-19 but only because the regime has deliberately kept them ignorant of the seriousness of the virus! This is criminal!
"This measure has been taken after 11 members of staff tested positive to the virus. The 11 members were subjected to the Rapid Diagnostic Test and we await the results of the PCR tests. The affected members are being attended to in line with the WHO and the Ministry of Health and Child Care guidelines."
ReplyDeleteThe closure of the ZIMSEC Head Office and Harare Region Branch is Wednesday 29 July 2020 to Monday 3 August 2020. Normal business activity is expected to resume on Tuesday 4 August 2020.
For months the government has focused all its testing on returnees for the sole purpose of creating the impression that there are no local virus cases. Even when there have been local cases reported, the regime has deliberately left them out of the official reports. This has been foolish because there were local covid-19 cases and ignoring that reality only helped the virus spread. The chickens have come home to roost!
It is a crying shame that thousands if not hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans will die of covid-19 but only because they were deliberately kept ignorant of the virus until it was too late! In this case not only has the government kept the people ignorant it took steps to gag everyone else with the treat of a 20-year jail term for reporting anything other than government’s own fake news!
Police are aware of various attempts to incite the public through the social media with one group calling itself 31 July Peaceful Demonstrations threatening to burn a service Station in Mvuma on 31st July 2020, and barricade the Harare Masvingo highway and all roads leading to police stations.

The security services are also aware of these groups that they are Spreading fake news that the security services are in support of the 31st July 2020, illegal demonstrations. These are blatant lies, meant to confuse the public, cause alarm and despondency in the security services.
The security services remain resolute in defense of the country's security and the safety of all Zimbabweans.
By blatantly rigging the elections, Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF cronies have blocked the option of peaceful and democratic change and so the only option left for change is using violence. Mnangagwa must know that, ultimately, he and his cronies are responsible for push the nation into a corner and are, therefore, responsible for all the death and destruction that will ensue!
What makes this sorry situation worse is that the street protests are not the answer because violent change has very rarely, if at all, ever delivered peace and democracy, which is what the nation is yarning for.

Former 5th Brigade Commander Perrance Shiri has been buried at the National Shrine. His burial was attended by very few people who observed social distance in accordance with the World Health Organisation standards.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa presided over the burial.
Of course, Perrance Shiri was tested for corona virus and all those who attended the funeral were very carefully tested and screened. Mnangagwa and other senior Zanu PF leaders were going to attend the funeral and every practical step possible to ensure they do not get the virus were taken.
If Perrance Shiri was just an ordinary Zimbabweans, the regime would have assumed he died of something else and not covid-19. Indeed, even if he had shown all the corona virus symptoms and regime would have made no effort to have him tested. None!
Even big referral Hospitals like Parerinyatwa and Mpilo are having to beg the regime to allow them to have mandatory covid-19 testing of patients even this late into the corona virus outbreak.
“For the period 9 June 2020 when the centre opened up to 25 July 2020, 60 Covid-19 positive patients have been admitted,” authorities at Parirenyatwa Hospital told a New Zimbabwe.
“For the period under review, 70 staff members have tested positive for Covid-19, of which 64 are from non-Covid-19 areas while 6 work directly in the Covid Centre.”
The Hospital was asking for permission and the resources to test patients in the non-covid-19 areas!
No doubt hundreds of thousands of health care workers, patients and ordinary Zimbabweans out there will catch the virus and many will die all because the relevant authority would not carry out a US$4 test! The regime is more concerned about keeping the official corona virus cases and death as low as possible then saving lives by telling the people truth. When it is the ruling elite’s lives at risk then every precaution is taken, of course!

And so the length of an article, comment, etc. is not going to tell us anything about quality! Same can be said about age, gender, tribe, race, political party affiliation, etc., etc., But of course if you are a village idiot like you to whom quality means nothing then length, age, etc. become the only yardstick to measure things!

Fifty-three people have so far succumbed to Covid-19, although 924 have recovered from the disease, an update released by the Ministry of Health and Child Care last night shows.
ReplyDelete"Today (yesterday), we report the results of 12 deaths which occurred from July 13 to 20, 2020 in the community and on admission to casualty departments at Parirenyatwa and Sally Mugabe hospitals after investigations and post-mortem were done. "These include nine males and two females all from Harare and had respiratory symptoms. Their PCR tests came out positive. The death from Midlands Province is of a male aged 58," said the Ministry of Health.
Yesterday, 213 cases tested positive with 205 being local transmissions and eight being returnees from South Africa. This saw the total number of confirmed cases jumping to 3 092 since March 20 when Covid-19 broke out in Zimbabwe.
A cumulative 129 899 tests have been done so far.
On the 10 July 2020 the country had done 86 212 tests and so has done and additional 43 687 tests in the last 20 days and so Zimbabwe has been doing 2 184 tests a day, up from 1 000 test per day target since early April. This is simply not good enough.
Corona virus lockdown are effective in contain hotspots but without first identifying the hotspots lockdowns are just a shot in the dark!
Why is Zimbabwe not testing all covid-19 suspects visiting our clinics and hospitals?
This government is not testing as aggressively as it should because all it cares about is keeping the country’s corona virus cases and death figures low and thus give the impression the regime has done an excellent job containing the virus. Hundreds of thousands of lives are being sacrificed for the sake of political expedience!
ZIMBABWE National Army (ZNA) spokesperson Colonel Overson Mugwisi has died from Covid-19.
ReplyDeleteA family member of the Mugwisi family who confirmed his death on condition of anonymity said the decorated soldier died in the wee hours of Friday.
He has been on sick leave for about three months.
The family source said Mugwisi died at an Army hospital at the Josiah Magama Tongogara Barracks, formerly KGV1 Barracks in Harare where he was rushed to overnight after the family failed to have him admitted at both private and public hospitals.
For months now, Zimbabwe has falsified the seriousness of the spreading corona virus. Hundreds of thousands of Zimbabweans have gone on with the lives blissfully unaware that corona virus was spreading in their midst.
Zanu PF is a corrupt and incompetent regime, after 40 years of misrule the regime is not under any illusions that it is anything but competent, and it is no surprise the regime has always been obsessed about sprucing up its image cost all cost. What the regime is doing is making sure that the corona virus figures are kept as low as possible to give the impression the regime has done an excellent job of containing the virus.
The price of falsifying the corona virus is many, many Zimbabweans have been blissfully unaware of the virus spreading. Many will catch the virus and many will die! This is a totally unacceptable high price for the nation to pay for political vanity! Zanu PF’s blundering incompetence is going to cause many people to lose their lives and it is will be unforgivable for us to let this madness continue!
Corona virus is killing more innocent Zimbabweans than the ruling elite! The testing, tracing and tracking among the ruling elite is done thoroughly and efficiently, for example, whilst very few tests are carried out among the poor. The poor are dying of ignorance and neglect!

A family source revealed to NewZimbabwe.com Sambo had contracted the world pandemic.
The veteran football administrator passed away at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare Thursday where he had been admitted after complaining of breathing problems, one of the symptoms of the coronavirus.
So many people have died of corona virus and yet the official figure remains at 53 – there is no doubt that Zanu PF is rigging the corona virus figures!
ZIMBABWE Senior Hospital Doctors (ZSHDA) members downed tools Thursday after the acting Health Ministry secretary said it would be insane for government to pay their salaries in foreign currency.
ReplyDeleteThe industrial action has plunged the whole public health sector into a dark hole as nurses and junior doctors were already on strike demanding better salaries and working conditions.
The work stoppage by the public health workers also comes when Covid-19 infections and related deaths in Zimbabwe have steeply increased over the past two weeks with no tangible measures put in place by the government to flatten the curve.
It is laughable that the regime has a bloated and very well-equipped army, Police and CIO and had no problem deploying its security dogs to impose a curfew to stop threatened street protests. Meanwhile the country’s health care service has all but collapse after decades of being starved of funds.
The regime is failing to pay the nurses and doctors enough to cover their transport costs let alone other necessities. How are they expected to continue working under these impossible conditions?
Zanu PF has clearly no clue what to do to revive the country’s economy and yet the regime continues to impose its rule on the nation. Zanu must step down and allow the nation to move on. Zanu PF has held the nation to ransom for the last 40 years and this cannot be allowed to continue!
