The key is the genuine commitment to the law and rule of law. In Zimbabwe the only law that counts is whatever those in positions of power and authority say it is.
In 2017 staging a military coup was judged necessary, justified and constitutional. We have just seen what everyone else thought were air-tight clauses that could not be changed without a referendum changed with the passing of CAB3!
CAB3 has opened Pandora's Box, there is no limit tom what the regime will do now. The hyenas rule the roost and there will fear, chaos and gnashing of teeth!
We had many opportunities to end the Zanu PF dictatorship and we not only wasted then all but, worst all, we still have learned nothing and so continue t follow blindly the men and women who betrayed us and failed to implement even one reform in 26 years.
Chamisa lied about plugging vote rigging loop holes to con millions to participate in flawed elections. Chamisa admits Zanu PF rigged the elections - the very thing he vowed would not happen. And yet the millions conned will not accept Chamisa lied to them because they cannot reconcile the Chamisa they consider demigod who can do no wrong now turning out to be not just a mere mortal but a liar and conman to boot.
Of course, Chamisa is a mere mortal and a liar and conman to boot. Why anyone should agonise over that speaks volumes of their IQ!.

ReplyDeleteThe UK has a new Prime Minister, Andy Burnham. He is the 11th PM since 1980 and he knows that if he does not deliver on his promises and the nation's expectations, he too will be booted out of No. 10 Downing Street!
In the same period 1980 to present, Zimbabwe has had only two leaders, Mugabe and Mnangagwa. The two have enjoyed long stays in office because they rigged the elections denying the people their fundamental right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country.

It is a great tragedy that 46 years after independence, in this day and age, and we are still failing to hold free, fair and credible elections. Millions still have no clue what constitute free and fair elections.FCUK ME!

ReplyDeleteThe problems that have destroyed SA and the same that has left Zimbabwe in ruins. Here Prince Mashele is offering some solutions to help SA recover. Two of these solution are particularly relevant for Zimbabwe:
1) All politicians and their cronies from MP to President since the country''s independence must be investigated for corruption. Corruption is a serious curse in Zimbabwe and it will take radical and scorch the earth measures if we are ever going uproot this scourge from the nation!
2) Leaders must be elected on merit and merit alone. All those who have been leaders in the existing political parties must NOT be considered for as members much less as leaders.These are not just failed leaders, they are corrupt and incompetent - these are irredeemable failures and we need to impose a new culture where crossing the double red line has consequences!

ReplyDeleteZimbabweans have been warned repeatedly that they should not participate in flawed elections, "so flawed, so illegal, the only logical step is to withdraw". We were warned that one of the consequences of participating was giving Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the nation's suffering. Many have ignored the warning and they, in their childish stupidity, hoping against hope, believe they can avoid the consequences.
If you accepting that participating in flawed election had the inevitable consequence of giving Zanu PF legitimacy. One cannot talk of forming a government in exile whilst tacitly agreeing to giving the current government in Harare legitimacy!
Prince Mashele gives his proposed solution to endi8ng SA's failed political system; Zimbabwe can steal a page or two of his proposal to solve our own problems!

Compare and contrast with Mnangagwa's "Zimbabwe will be an upper middle income nation with GDP per capita of US$6k up from US$2k at present. Vision 2030."
There are no signs the promised changes will ever be delivered. None! Mnangagwa has even used vision 2030 to justify extending his stay in office by two more years beyond what the constitution allowed for.
President Ruto admitted other countries that gained their independence the same time as Kenya have done very well. "Don't ask me what happened? I will only account for what I do now and going forward" he argued. How convenient!
Mnangagwa too did not want to be held to account for the past hence his insistence in calling post 2017 Zimbabwe "Second Republic, a new dispensation!"
The truth is each generation of African leaders has believed that they are God's blessing to the country, they will deliver economic prosperity and the nation will live happily ever after! Even if there are no sign of economic revival much less boom, each leader will demand they must be given more time.
They have all imposed a political system designed to keep the leader and his cronies in power at all cost a system that has allowed scum instead of creme de la creme to become leaders. Leaders like President Ruto and Mnangagwa are the stereotype failed African leaders, they view themselves as only leaders who will deliver the transformative changes their respective nation has been dying for!
What Africa has been dying for is leaders with the humility to accept that they are not special and hence the reason the nation must have a political system in which all the leaders are accountable to the people at all times. A student who sets and marks his/her exam will always pass with flying colours - that is common sense. A president who rigs elections is a student who sets and marks his/her own exam!

Do you know that the war of independence was fought for "One man, one vote!" and "To restore land ownership back to the blacks!" Whilst the whites had title deeds to vast tracks of land the blacks were settled in Tribal Trust Land (TTL) where the land was held in trust and individual were not allowed to have title deeds to even one acre of land on which their mud hut stood.
Smith denied blacks title deeds for fear economic empowerment will embolden the blacks to demand political empowerment too. Smith did not want to give blacks the vote.
Zanu PF ruling elite and their cronies have been the main beneficiaries to the seized former white-owned farms. The overwhelming majority of the rural peasant are still stuck in the overcrowded TTLs and, worst of all, they continue to be denied title deeds to even one acre and for the same selfish political reasons.
Why Zimbabweans have allowed Zanu PF thugs to continue to rid roughshod over rural folks 46 years after independence speaks volumes of the IQ of Zimbabwe's intellectuals! They do not have the common sense to realised that as long as Zanu PF continues rural povo political captives Zimbabwe will remain a pariah state and everyone suffers!

We must break with this nonsense of participating in a flawed process give Zanu PF legitimacy and then make a big song and dance of how we will challenge the regime. Why did CCC give it legitimacy in the first place?
The same CCC sell out are involved in these grandstanding political posturing for the sake of the political lime light! Enough is enough of this bulls***t! MDC/CCC leaders are Zanu PF team B in all but name, playing for team A to win and to have legitimacy for a share of the spoils of power. Your is the Mayor of Bulawayo, he is enjoying his share of the spoils of power and so are you!
