Surprised at Mawarire US$ 20 m bribe Chamisa received but not to hear MDC sold out - it's common knowledge. W Mukori

I am not surprised to hear from Jealousy Mawarire that Nelson Chamisa sold out to Zanu PF; the evidence of MDC/CCC betrayal has been there for all to see! The surprise is the payout Chamisa received!

"In the audio, Nero (Chamisa) admits he has 'no table manners' thus he needed ED (Mnangagwa) to restrain him from over looting if he won the elections," Mawarire wrote on X. "Since he lost the 2023 elections, the obligation lies with ED to look after Chamisa."

"When we talk of $20m that Mukomana was given, we aren't delusional. We know there is that arrangement between the two to look after each other.”

Jealousy Mawarire has made many shocking revelations in the past and many have turned out to be true. The surprise here is payout Chamisa received for his Judas Iscariot kiss!

The people of Zimbabwe do not need rumours from Mawarire to KNOW the MDC/CCC leaders are sellouts. Morgan Tsvangirai and his banded mongoose friends have failed to implement even one token reform in 25 years 5 of which in the GNU when they had the golden opportunity to do so.

Chamisa lied that “MDC A has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the 2018 elections” to con his supporters to participate in the flawed election. He knew that Zanu PF was rigging the elections and that participating would give the regime legitimacy. He and his mangoes friends also knew that Zanu PF was giving away a few gravy train seats to entice the opposition to participate. They found the bait irresistible!

Chamisa repeated the same idiotic lie for the same selfish reason in 2023. “I have plugged all the Zanu PF vote rigging loop holes. #Godisinit!” he even evoke the name of God!

It is no secret that the MDC/CCC has been Zanu PF team B is all but name - participating in flawed elections to make sure team A win and has political legitimacy. David Coltart admitted all these things in his book.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Whilst the few MDC/CCC leaders who did win the gravy train seats got the US$60 000 car generous salary and allowance, etc. Tsvangirai/Chamisa/Mwonzora/Khupe, as leader of the MDC/CCC, would got the 20% of the Political Party Finance Act payout. If Mawarire’s claims are factual, then Chamisa got a lot more for selling out the nation!

Any one with half a brain would not be surprised MDC/CCC leaders sold out, the only surprise here is payout each of the banded mongooses received! And the heavy price the nation has paid for this blatant betrayal!

But worst of all, is the tragic reality that millions of Zimbabweans out there remain ignorant of the blatant MDC/CCC leaders’ betrayal and hence the reason why the nation has continued to sink into the abyss. Nation get the government they deserve and we certainly deserve this Zanu PF dictatorship complete with its entourage of corrupt and utterly useless MDC/CCC side kicks.

A healthy and functioning democracy demands that the people be educated, knowledgeable, objective and they must be diligent in carrying out their sacred duty of holding leaders to democratic account. Zimbabweans are ignorant, naive and gullible and hence the reason why they are so easily conned into believing idiotic lies time and time again.

If MDC/CCC leaders had implemented the democratic reforms timeously Zimbabwe would have put an end to the curse of rigged elections and bad governance by 2013, at the latest. Alas! That was not to be. MDC/CCC leaders sold out and the nation is paying dearly for it! Millions are living in abject poverty and many have suffered and died, millions more will suffer and die for generations to come.

Is the blatant betray of millions of innocent Zimbabweans, condemned to suffer and die under the Zanu PF dictatorship, worth the gravy train seats, US$ 60 000 car and US$20 million bribe? I ask!

Stomach politics for opposition leaders, yes. But why are ordinary people participating in these flawed elections knowing fully well that doing so will give Zanu PF legitimacy, opposition a few gravy train seats and nothing for povo?

Lest people should forget, the people of Zimbabwe have risked livelihoods, limbs and many have even lost their very lives to elect MDC/CCC leaders into power on the understanding these leaders will deliver the democratic changes to end the Zanu PF dictatorship. The tragic reality is that Tsvangirai and company have failed to implement even one token reform in 25 years, including the 5 GNU years. Indeed, ever since the GNU debacle MDC/CCC leaders have participated in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the nation's suffering. All this, out of greed!

According to Jealousy Mawarire Chamisa was paid US$20 m to participate in flawed 2023 elections to give Zanu PF victory and political legitimacy. It is sickening to hear Chamisa boasting about sharing the spoils of political power with Mnangagwa!

It is now 45 years since Zimbabwe's independence, the country is a failed state. The all important question is: Have we learned any lessons why we are a failed state? Alas! There is no evidence to suggest we have learned any lessons!

The number one lesson we should have learned by now is that nothing of substance will ever be accomplished until we cure ourselves of the curse of rigged elections and bad governance. And yet here we are, many Zimbabweans out there do not even know what constitutes free, fair and credible elections.

The chances of millions of Zimbabweans participating in flawed 2028 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuate the nation's suffering yet again is a given. We are our own worst enemy!

Ignorance is Zimbabwe’s worst curse! How is it possible that 45 years after independence millions of Zimbabweans still have no clue what constitute free and fair elections. You do not know what the reforms are much less how they are implemented!

“Wilbert is like zanupf 45 years of repeating same ideology and it's now monotonous and he can't even read that he is singing the same song from the time this group was formed, inogori. Mdc sold out wotoshaya kuti chii chaizvo naWilbert.”

After 45 years of rigged elections I am determined to make sure we implement the necessary reforms to end this curse. So I am repeating the demand to implement reforms for a greater purpose of ending the curse of rigged elections. You clearly cannot see the subtle difference, all you hear is the repeated demand for reforms.

You do not have the intellect to comprehend the tragic consequences of yet more rigged elections. I comprehend the consequences. And so I will continue to push for reforms regardless of the irritation the repeated calls cause to you. I have more pressing consideration than your misplaced and idiotic foolishness.

The real tragedy for for Zimbabwe is that idiots like you number in millions and you have the vote. The idiots are holding the nation to ransom!

Yes Tendai Biti, Zanu PF has kept the rural voters poor and dependent of the regime and is" taking advantage of their fatalistic mentality to harvest their vote". By the same token MDC/CCC leaders are taking advantage of the urban voters and diaspora's ignorance and naivety to harvest their vote and blind support.

Millions of urban voters and those in the diaspora have no clue what are the democratic changes much less that the primary purpose of the 2008 to 2013 GNU was to implement the democratic reforms. MDC leaders sold out and failed to implement even one token reforms.

The urban voters and those in the diaspora have never blamed MDC/CCC leaders for selling out on reforms; how can they blame the leaders for failing to implement something they do not even know! Biti & Co. have taken advantage of this to con the people to participate in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the nation's suffering out of greed.

I think there has been an overhype of Zimbabwe’s education standards, mainly because we had a president who could speak good English and overinflate his achievements during 37 years of his dictatorship.

Zimbabwe has never had an O’Level pass rate above 33% in over forty years. In fact, our O’Level pass rate for 2008 was 8%. That mediocrity is reflected in the quality of leaders that we have chosen across the political spectrum and the reasons why we choose them. Zimbabwe’s leading eye surgeon, Dr Solomon Guramatunhu, said it well when he stated that Zimbabwean leaders are a reflection of the society they come from.

We have a few high-flying global experts who have done well for themselves, but their individual brilliance counts for nothing if we don’t understand the importance of collectivism. That is why the majority thought it was okay for one person to make all the decisions regarding what should have been a mass movement. There will never see anything wrong with that because that is all they know and understand. When people have never worked their whole lives, they will never understand the importance of collectivism.

We also have a tribal problem; leaders of political parties and many facets of our lives have narrow minds that view politics through the lens of ethnicity. When cornered in an argument, they lash out, saying, “Ahh mazezuru aya, makaranga aya, amanyika aya, or mandevere (not Ndebele) aya.” A society that has leaders who are tribal, like our President, will never grow. Samora Machel said that the tribe must die first for the nation to grow. President Mnangagwa is a tribalist, so we shouldn’t expect much from him or his political ilk.

The other problem is that the few who have done well seek to destroy each other. I know many Zimbabweans, especially in international civil society organisations, whose main purpose is to delegitimise fellow compatriots. They are so petty that they don’t understand that your candle can glow without having to blow out someone else’s. Educated by fools! I have been to places like Rwanda, Nigeria, and Kenya, where I have been asked, “Why do you guys seek to destroy each other? So-and-so was saying this about so-and-so.” They will actually pick up the phone to destroy another compatriot. These are people with LLBs MBAs and Master’s degrees from different disciplines, not your uneducated folks.

So, until we stop finding pleasure in the downfall of others, until we learn to work collectively, and until we choose leaders who have something to give back to society and not just political rhetoric, we will remain where we are. Until we understand that it is petty to put tribe ahead of nation, we will always remain a laughing stock.

There is nothing special about Zimbabweans, except that we have a beautiful country with a lot of mineral wealth that have been mismanaged. This is how we are defined. It is not just about ZANUPF; it is about us as a society, because ZANUPF tendencies are also found in the so-called opposition. They are just not magnified because they don’t have power yet. We have seen ourselves through the lenses of exceptionalism, but there is nothing positively exceptional about people who walk on top of sewage and think that is normal.

Genuinely educated people with critical thinking don’t do that. There is nothing exceptional about a country where professors, who are supposed to be repositories of knowledge, work day and night against the collective national interest and are still seen in certain quarters as relevant! Our saving grace will be our ability to accept this first, and then take steps to fix our societal problems with a sense of clarity and honesty, not pretence. When I see you doing well, I should applaud you and not try to destroy you. If we are both doing well, we should combine our success and ensure that it benefits other members of our society. Success is not being individually rich when you come from a dysfunctional society; that is failure!

Yes there is something shameful and sickening about living in mud hovel in this day and age because some political thug has denied you the title deeds to the land, the necessary prerequisite for you to have to confidence to build a decent home for yourself. When you lack self respect it is no surprise you tolerate anything including being ruled by a buffoon!

Of course Zanu PF rigged the elections but got away with it because MDC/CCC have been participating in the flawed elections knowing fully well that the process is flawed and that participating in their millions will give Zanu PF legitimacy. It is surprising that you still do not understand what is going on here even after 45 years of rigged elections!

Where would you start since the individual does not understand even the basics! Zimbabwe have millions who are brain dead and that is the reality we must accept!

No amount of spin can change the reality. You have participating in flawed elections knowing fully well Zanu PF was rigging and that participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy. You participated regardless because you knew, just like the rest of the opposition who participated, that Zanu PF was giving away a few gravy train seats. You all participated for a share of the bait!

“My loyalty is to Zimbabwe! I am here to be remembered as the woman who refused to be bought!” Nonsense! Your loyalty is to greed, you have been bought and yet you deny it! How typical!
