Mnangagwa rigged 2023 elections and, per se, he is illegitimate. He is silencing all dissent for appearance's sake. W Mukori

Tyrant and bullies have one thing in common they are obsessed about appearance of those qualities they lack. The bully will step on your toes, crash them, for the umpteenth time that day, and then apologise profusely. To the casual observer the bully is the consummate gentleman and the victim is the cry baby!

“President Emmerson Mnangagwa has accused foreign entities of orchestrating a campaign to discredit Zimbabwe in response to international condemnation of his administration's crackdown on pro-democracy activists. The criticism follows the arrest of over 100 activists, some of whom have been reportedly tortured while in custody,” reported Bulawayo 24.

“Addressing mourners at the burial of former liberation fighter Makhethi Ndebele, Mnangagwa claimed that there is a deliberate, foreign-funded effort to undermine Zimbabwe's progress. He denounced the allegations as baseless and asserted that such attempts to sow discord within the region and the continent will not succeed. Mnangagwa emphasized that Zimbabwe remains committed to its diplomatic principle of being "a friend to all and an enemy to none.”

The root cause of Zimbabwe’s seeming unending social unrest is the country’s economic meltdown which has left the country in economic ruins forcing millions to leave the country and 50% of the population living in abject poverty. Basic services such as health care and education have all but collapsed and the country’s infrastructure are in varying stages of rot and deny.

44 years of Zanu PF gross mismanagement, rampant corrupt and tyrannical rule have crashed the nation’s hopes and dreams of ever living in peace and human dignity.

Of course, the people are restless because human being are not sheep who will go quietly to the slaughter. No amount of tyrannical repression will stifle the cries of the long suffering masses. Crying for piece of bread to eat and, above all, crying for a meaningful say in the governance of the country.

Zimbabweans have been stuck with this corrupt, incompetent and murderous Zanu PF regime for 44 years and counting because the regime rigs elections. Both SADC and AU election observers condemned 2023 Zimbabwe elections as flawed and illegal.

“Conclusion 13.3

The SEOM (SADC Election Observer Mission) noted that, as detailed in sections 6 and 7 of this report, some aspects of the Harmonised Elections fell short of the requirements of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, the Electoral Act, and the SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections (2021),” stated the SEOM report.

“President Emmerson Mnangagwa has accused foreign entities of orchestrating a campaign to discredit Zimbabwe!” Yeah right! Are SADC, the regional body, and AU, the continental body, foreign entities discrediting Zimbabwe too?

What is Mnangagwa wittering about, “Zimbabwe remains committed to its diplomatic principle of being "a friend to all and an enemy to none”? Zanu PF has ruled the country with an iron fist these last 44 years, the ordinary Zimbabwean has felt the heavy boot on their throat crashing them into the gutter.

“There certainly was some great mismanagement in the education of these two young men (George Wickham and Mr Darcy). One has got all the goodness, and the other all the appearance of it” wrote Jane Austen in Pride and Prejudice.

Mnangagwa rigged 2023 elections and, per se, is the illegitimate president of Zimbabwe. His over the top cracking down against all dissenting voices is to be expected; he does not want his illegitimacy to be exposed. He is obsessed about keeping up the outward appearance that Zimbabwe is a peaceful and prosperous nation and he is legitimate and very popular with all Zimbabweans.

Next to the Zanu PF buffoons and their MDC/CCC sellout sidekicks the intelligentsia are to blame for why Zimbabwe is a failed state. The intelligentsia have either joined Zanu PF or MDC/CCC for a share of the spoils of power or have maintained a stone-silence, going along to get along.

2 million who voted for Chamisa last year and 3 to 4 million in diaspora who cheered and applauded believed that he had plugged all vote rigging loop holes. How any one believed such an idiotic lie beggars belief and yet millions of those who voted and cheered are the so-called intelligentsia!

There is a real danger Chamisa will con them yet again to participate in flawed 2028 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the dictatorship!

  2. "There is no room for factionalism at any level in the party," Chiwenga stated. "Our loyalty is not to individuals but to the bigger agenda, that of the party and the people of Zimbabwe who are supreme.”

This is a truck load of bull! He has played his part in imposing the Zanu PF dictatorship onto the nation all these last 44 years. Zanu PF blatantly rigged last year’s elections as both SADC and AU election observers have confirmed, for example: VP Chiwenga has said nothing against the regime usurping the people’s power.

He is only now waking up to the reality that to achieve the “ED2030” ambition Mnangagwa will once again have to usurp the people’s right to a meaningful say in the governance of the country. He only cares about it now because Mnangagwa is trading on his, Chiwenga’s, own ambition of becoming the next dictator. He is recognising the people’s right temporary because doing so serves his own selfish interests.

The people were use to support the 2017 military coup thinking it would end the Zanu PF dictatorship. It did not! All that happened was replace on dictator with another. The people must must allow themselves to be abused again.

People must let Chiwenga and Mnangagwa fight it out between themselves. When two hyenas are fighting, it is not for the goat to pick a side.

There was never an real hope that Mnangagwa would revive the Zimbabwe economy much less to see it thrive to achieve upper middle income status, vision 2030. Zimbabwe was a pariah state when he took over in 2017 and there was never any hope of that change and his failure to hold free and fair elections confirmed the country was still a pariah state.

AfDB has confirm there is a gapping US$3.7 billion finance gap in Zimbabwe's finances and, without the money, will never achieve the vision 2030.

Ironically Zimbabwe is losing a staggering 80% of its US$2 per year gold trade or US$1.6 billion, nearly half of US$3.7 billion gap. Mnangagwa promised to stamp out corruption but has failed.

Vision 2030 is but a mirage by moonlight!

VP Chiwenga is not a democrat, I repeat VP Chiwenga is NOT a democrat. A few moons ago he was threatening "to crush CCC leaders and supporters like lice" as Zanu PF went on to rig the 2018 and 2023 elections. Today he is wittering about "the supremacy of the people" because he needs the people to help him stop the "2030 Mnangagwa anenge aripo!" juggernaut.

The people were conned to support the 2017 military coup believing it would end the Zanu PF dictatorship. Big mistake! All we ever got was replacement of one dictator with another. We must not repeat that mistake ever again.

When two hyenas are fighting it foolish for the goat to pick one side or the other because it will be on the menu regardless who win. Zanu PF will rig 2028 regardless who wins, Chiwenga or Mnangagwa. It would be better for the goat to make good its escape; it would be better we step up the fight for free elections or, at the very least, make sure we do not participate in the flawed elections to give the regime legitimacy!

    “Beloved SADC,

It is with a heavy heart as I write this letter to you.

Firstly, in what capacity are you bestowing the Chairmanship of Sadc to President Emmerson Mnangagwa when there is still a pending case on the 2023 election result?

Progressive Zimbabweans are still waiting for answers on the recommendations of the SEOM report and other observer missions' reports, which are a testament that the Zimbabwean election was a fraud.

Can the people of Zimbabwe continue in this cycle of disputed elections each time they go for polls or something has to give?”

We are to believe “progressive” Zimbabweans are still waiting for SADC to decide on the SEOM report that condemned Zimbabwe elections as flawed and illegal? Wrong choice of the adjective! No Zimbabwean with half a working brain is still waiting for SADC’s decision on the disputed Zimbabwe elections because, for one thing, they would know that by participating in the flawed elections in our millions we gave Zanu PF legitimacy, gave “the process credibility”, as David Coltart aptly put it.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Zimbabweans were warned that it is sheer folly participating in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and CCC a few gravy train seats. They would not listen and were conned into participating by Chamisa’s idiotic lie that he had plugged all the vote rigging loop holes.

What is so “progressive” about refusing to accept the consequences of one’s folly?

Indeed, this refusal only shows just how childish and foolish some Zimbabweans are. No wonder the country is a failed state, going round and round in circles.

SADC gave us an excellent opportunity to implement the democratic reforms during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and the same village idiots who wasted the opportunity are the ones blaming SADC for their betrayal and masquerading as “progressive” Zimbabweans. What a sick joke!

Zimbabweans should be concentrating on implementing the reforms to stop a repeat of the folly participating in yet another flawed elections in 2028! For Pete’s sake, let’s put an end to this insanity!

Zimbabwe has some talented people, it is a pity that many have been forced out of the country or they are in the country but their talents are being wasted. People like her should be helping building a better Zimbabwe for all but are instead fighting freedom and justice - the same thing the nation fought for during colonial rule.

44 years after independence and we are still fighting for a meaningful say in the governance of the country and the right to be heard. If that is no proof that we have failed to govern ourselves, I do not know what is!

My dear sister, I hope your call to Zimbabweans to stand up and be counted will not fall on deaf ears. We need to end this madness of rigged elections and bad governance!

  7. One of the hallmark of a village idiot is their stubborn denial of the truth, reality and facts because they think by doing so the truth, reality and facts will change.

ZESA load shedding and having no clean water supply are now the “norm” in Zimbabwe. Why anyone should be arrested for saying so beggars belief! The regime does not want the world to know Zimbabwe is a failed state failing to meet even the most basic needs of the people.

In its effort to suppress the truth, this time, it was given the truth even more traction! Now the regime must prove there are no power cuts and no cut of water supply - prove that something that is there and well documented is not there!

Zanu PF arrested tourists for saying there is power cuts and water shortage in Zimbabwe! There is a case of stupidity on steroid. The regime did not want it known Zimbabwe is a failed state failing to provide for even basic needs such as electricity and water. By arresting the tourists is has given the story "red bull" wings especially since it must now prove in a court of law that something that is not there is there!

Litmus test for stupidity: the stupid have no regard for truth, facts and/or reality and they claim to know when they in fact know nothing!

Zanu PF rigged the 2023 elections, SADC and AU election observers condemned the process as flawed and illegal. Mnangagwa has denied the elections were rigged, insisting they were free, fair and credible. He can deny it all he wants the truth will not change. He is illegitimate, period.

The protestors, peaceful or not, will certainly want to remind SADC leaders that Mnangagwa is ILLEGITIMATE! This is one truth he cannot bear to hear and so he has mobilised the army, police and CIO to stop the protestors.

The irony is SADC leaders KNOW he is illegitimate, they read the SADC Election Observer Mission's damning report. And by using all this excessive force to stop the protestors Mnangagwa is underlining why Zimbabweans hate him and hence why he had to rig elections to stay in power!

If he continue with the brutal oppression some SADC leaders may decide not to attend the summit after all!

So CCC leaders cannot be corrupt and incompetent because if they are then Zanu PF members are saints! Has it ever occurred to you that both Zanu PF and CCC leaders are corrupt, incompetent and, in the case of the former, murderous thugs?

As I said, the real tragedy for Zimbabwe is that there are millions of other VI just like you and you lot have the vote. 15. The government has deployed soldiers in residential areas to maintain peace and order ahead of the 44th session of the SADC Heads of State and Government Summit, scheduled to be hosted by Harare on August 17.

Police have also increased their presence in urban areas, including Chitungwiza, where there was a heavy presence of police and soldiers, leaving residents shocked and leading to a self-imposed curfew.
In Chitungwiza, soldiers and police patrolled in convoys, with soldiers using motorized military gear and police armed with water cannons, batons, and guns. This heightened security has led to early closures of bars and vendors leaving their stalls. Residents expressed fear and uncertainty, opting to stay indoors.

Mnangagwa rigged the 2023 elections and, per se, is illegitimate; he knows it, SADC leaders know it and we all know it. What he does not want is to see an protestors holding up any placards reminding us all that he is illegitimate. He issue obsessed about it, he has turned Zimbabwe into a North Korea type Police State.

The human rights abuses have now reached nauseating heights, I would not be surprised if some SADC leaders were to boycott the summit in protest at the clamp down and in solidarity with the victims of the tyrannical oppression.

Mnangagwa says he is a lawyer and constitutionalist. Here is the man who has been the driving force behind all the Zanu PF political vote riggings and murders these last 44 years.

He blatantly rigged 2023 elections and SADC Election Observer Mission reported the process failed to meet "the requirements of the Constitution of Zimbabwe, the Electoral Act, and the SADC Principles and Guidelines Governing Democratic Elections (2021)". Sometime he continues to contemptuously deny and defy!

He has turned Zimbabwe into a North Korea style Police State because he does not want protesters to remind us all he rigged 2023 elections and is, per se, illegitimate.

What makes it worse is that we have failed to maintain what we inherited from the white and so instead of building on what we have we are losing a lot more than we adding. We are regressing when we should be making progress.

If these are the people that you send to convince the general populace to vote for the opposition no wonder why it perennially loses elections.”

You are just making the usual idiotic assumption that everyone who criticise Zanu PF must be a CCC supporter. I have never said “Zanu PF only rigged in areas where CCC lost elections”!

I have consistently said CCC leaders participated in these flawed elections knowing fully well that Zanu PF was rigging and that participating would give the regime legitimacy. They have soldiered on regardless out of greed.

Chamisa lied about plugging all the vote rigging loop holes to get his braindead supporters to participate in the flawed elections only to perpetuate their own suffering. How anyone could be so dumb and stupid beggars belief.

Mnangagwa rigged the 2023 elections, SADC and AU condemned the elections as flawed and illegal, and he is, per se, illegitimate. He has deployed the army, Police and the dreaded CIO, turning the country into a North Korea Police State, because he does not want the protestors to remind SADC leaders that he is illegitimate. How anyone can say that without realising just how irrational and stupid that is, beggars belief.

You do not welcome criticism, period! So stop wittering about “ Zanu PF values constructive criticism or we don’t welcome a spirit of criticism whereby certain individuals just wake up to criticize the government every single day.” You are the accuser, judge, jury and executioner in deciding what is constructive criticism and what is not.

Has it ever occurred to you that they are criticising the regime everyday because they feel the pain from the regime’s failures every hour of everyday?

  22. He does not own anything; not even one square inch on which his mud brick hut stand because can be told to move and he will have no recourse but to move. Many rural folk have been forced to relocate and had their huts burnt down especially those accused of supporting the opposition. He is safe for now as long as he continue to wear a Zanu PF T-shirt and support the party.

Rural people are not allowed to have title deed to even postage stamp size piece of land on which their mud hovel stand. This a deliberate policy by this Zanu PF regime because, just like the white colonial regime before, it seeks to retain complete control over the people by keep them poor and powerless and dependent on the regime and it proxies' caprice and mercy.

Rural areas have remained Zanu PF's political strong hold for no other reason other than the party has complete political control over the rural people the party frogmarch them to attend party rallies and to vote for the party. The people have no choice but to do as they are told or risk being severely punished.

If the rural people were granted title deed to even one acre of land, they will have the confident to build a decent house with toilet facilities, clean water supply and will even plant fruit trees, etc. They will know they can sell the house plus the improvements and thus recover something from their investment. Not so at present!

It is an outrage that the whites deliberately kept the rural blacks poor, denying them title deeds to the land the one asset that would have meant so much to them, for selfish political reasons. And for 44 years and counting after independence Zanu PF is doing the same!

Rural people must be granted title deeds to the land yesterday; no if, not but. We really must put an end to this modern day slavery!

Some people blame the rural povo for keeping Zanu PF in power, of course these people are wrong. Zanu PF is holding povo political hostages by denying them title deed to even the postage stamp size land, poor and ignorant. Zanu PF considers rural areas its political stronghold only because the rural people are no more than medieval serfs beholden to the overbearing Zanu PF thugs and their proxies.

Zanu PF has inbuilt 60% rural vote advantage and thus has an invested interest in keeping povo poor. It is an outrage that anyone should be kept in abject poverty for selfish political gain especially those masquerading as their liberators.

Zimbabwe will never be free until the rural people are freed from tyrannical control of Zanu PF control. No stone must be left unturned to grant povo title deed the land a.s.a.p.

Zanu PF has turned Zimbabwe into a North Korea Police State to stop all public protest during the upcoming SADC Summit in Harare. The regime has imposed the security clamp down under the pretext of protecting the country's reputation.

The protesters were going to remind the SADC leaders that Zanu PF rigged 2023 elections and, per se, it is illegitimate. The regime denies it rigged the elections even in the face of SADC and AU reports confirming the elections were flawed and illegal. The real purpose of the security clamp down is to stop the truth of Zanu PF rigged elections and is illegitimate by said.

Chris Mutsvangwa’s patronising arrogance of dismissing the protesters as mischievous minors and allotting Zanu PF the role of the responsible and wise parent is totally unacceptable, more so given Zanu PF’s track record as a corrupt, incompetent, vote rigging and murderous regime! Zanu PF spear headed the fight to end white colonial oppressions and it is a crying shame that 44 years after independence the nation is still fighting for freedom and basic human rights including the right to free, fair and credible elections.
