“Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa
yesterday welcomed Thokozani Khupe saying the opposition party wanted to work
with everyone to unseat Zanu-PF,” reported News Day.
"I know that people complain that Khupe caused a lot of problems for us
but we say, Khupe come; and everybody else. The difference between CCC and
Zanu-PF is that CCC represents the future and Zanu-PF the past," Chamisa
said.
It was none other than Chamisa himself who called “bad apples”
Madam Khupe and all those who had remained in the MDC-T after the March 2020
High Court ruling stripping of him the party leadership. “Thank you, Zanu PF,
for helping us identify and get rid of bad apples!” He said when he launched
CCC in January 2022, hardly three months ago!
So, three months later, Chamisa has already forgiven and/or forgotten
Khupe was a bad apple! Either the accusation was frivolous, and one has to
question the intellectual prowess of the accuser.
Or Khupe is indeed a bad apple and in his desperate bid to
win power Chamisa is welcoming her back in CCC. MDC’s pathetic track record
bespeaks of a party of corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent individuals, truck
load of rotten apples. Both Khupe and Chamisa have been senior party leaders
and have played their part is the said pathetic track record.
So, is it just a matter of Nelson Chamisa, rotten apple in
his own right, welcoming back fellow
rotten apple, Dr Khupe!
"Zanu-PF is a minority. The majority are the citizens.
Why would you continue to vote for a party that has made you suffer since 1980?
They stole the votes from Father Zimbabwe Joshua Nkomo in 1980…and all those
other years and they want to come back again in 2023 to steal the votes,”
continued Chamisa.
"This time it will not happen.
"CCC is a small baby and only 3 months old but fighting a big old man and
we managed to beat him in the recent elections."
How naïve!
The overwhelming majority of the CCC candidates in the 26
March and 7 May 2022 by elections had won these seats in the 2018 elections
under the MDC A led by Nelson Chamisa ticket. They were recalled for refusing
to switch allegiance to either Madam Khupe or Douglas Mwonzora when 2020 High
Court ruling stripping party leadership from Chamisa.
CCC is the rebranded version of MDC A and it is farcical to
pretend otherwise! The only reason Chamisa and company are keen as mustard to severe
all connections with their MDC past is because their don’t want their track record
of failures and betrayal to follow them.
MDC had many golden opportunities, especially during the
2008 to 2013 GNU, to implement the democratic reforms and stop Zanu PF rigging
elections once and once for all. To add insult to injury, MDC/CCC has insisted
on participating in these flawed elections giving Zanu PF legitimacy and thus
perpetuating the dictatorship.
“MDC A has stringent measures to stop Zanu PF rigging the
elections!” Chamisa said, to justify participating in the 2018 elections with
no reforms.
"This time it will not happen!” Of course, this is just
another feeble excuse to justify participating in the 2023 elections to give Zanu
PF legitimacy!
There will be no meaningful economic and political changes
in Zimbabwe as long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state ruled by this corrupt,
incompetent and vote rigging Zanu PF dictatorship.
Since the 2008 to 2013 GNU Zanu PF has twinged the
dictatorship to allow the opposition to win a few seats to create the
impression Zimbabwe is now a healthy multiparty democracy. MDC/CCC have
participated in these flawed elections giving Zanu PF the legitimacy in return
for a few gravy train seats.
The Zanu PF and MDC/CCC political partnership is well
established, there is no stopping the two participating in the 2023 elections.
What we can do is make sure the process is seen by all for what it is, a flawed
and illegal process, and condemned.
Declaring the 2023 elections null and void will give Zimbabwe
the golden opportunity to appoint an interim government, comparable to the 2008
to 2013 GNU. This time, competent men and women will be appointed to ensure all
the democratic reforms are implemented.
Zanu PF has landed the nation in this hell-on-earth of a
failed state. The corrupt and incompetent MDC leaders have helped Zanu PF
remain in power by failing to implement the reforms. Rebranding the party as
CCC has changed nothing as the participation in flawed elections shows.
The key out of this hell-hole is implementing the reforms. The
worsening economic situation and the tragic human suffering and deaths underlines
the critical importance and urgency of implementing the reforms. After 42 years
of rigged elections it is insane to allow this madness to continue!

ReplyDelete“Form your own party and let us see what your strategies are?”
So, unless I form a political party you will not listen to what I say?
Zimbabwe has over 100 political parties and yet the country remains a failed state which would suggest it is not the lack of political parties the country is in a mess but the opposite. People like you, and I will venture to say there are millions out there, will not listen to anyone unless he/she is the leader of a political party. And once you have found a leader you bury your head in their backside never to question anything and follow blindly like sheep. No wonder the country is in a total mess.
I totally reject MDC/CCC’s oxymoronic nonsense of “winning in rigged elections” which tacitly endorse the demonic heresy that Zanu PF has the right to rig elections and we, ordinary people, must suffer and bear it. The right of every Zimbabwean to free, fair and credible elections is sacrosanct and must be restore as a matter of urgency – that is not negotiable.
Restoring the rule of law and the freedoms and rights of every Zimbabwean is a national matter not subject to party politics or individual interest. Indeed, to treat it as anything other than a national issue is typical of those whose intellect never rise above the trivial.
"A lot of people ask why are you not having a congress, but we say stop that a bit,” said Chamisa in Gwanda.
ReplyDelete"Once bitten twice shy. We know Zanu-PF is plotting against us, but we will ambush them and expose them.
"From now on we will be doing an underground movement.
"We want to be visible everywhere in rural areas, farms, mines and so forth.”
There is no denying that the economic situation in Zimbabwe has left millions of our people in abject poverty and it is understandable they are desperate for change. It is also a well known fact that Zimbabweans are naïve and gullible which explains why the country is in this economic and political mess. Nelson Chamisa is taking full advantage of the people’s naivety and desperation to con them into accepting CCC is offering them a way out of the mess when in reality he is dragging them deeper into the bottomless hell!
Chamisa claims CCC is people based party and yet refuses to give the people a meaningful say in the party. He has surrounded himself with people who loyalty is to him and no one else and his wish and whim is the law. He has established an autocracy which he is selling as a people’s democracy.
He is refusing to hold a people’s congress on the feeble grounds that Zanu PF will infiltrate the party.
CCC is an autocracy and it is insulting to be told it is a democracy.
Zanu PF is blatantly rigging these elections and it is insane participate only to give legitimacy to the regime, especially after 42 years of rigged elections. Chamisa is insisting Zanu PF will not rig these elections, we have heard the same foolish claims countless time before
When the Zimbabwe National Students Union called for a shutdown, I shared this with my friends who asked me to divide the student fees by the black market rate. We realised that varsity students are paying an equivalent to US$200. But there is catch.
ReplyDeleteHow much is being given to our fathers by the same government that is hiking fees in the State institutions? They are earning less than US$100 at the prevailing black market rate.
Now, this protest is essentially not premised on cheap education. It is premised on affordable education.
By affordable, I mean something that is within the reach of someone coming from an average family, someone whose father or mother is a civil servant. You cannot pay a teacher an equivalent of $80 and charge her two children who are at university US$200 each. It makes no sense.
In a country where unemployment has soared to 90% and over 50% of the population now lives in abject poverty education is now a luxury many cannot afford! The quality of education has drop so low that the pass rates in rural schools is 3% or less because of chronic under investment.
What hope is there for meaningful economic recovery, much less development and prosperity, when so many of our citizens are illiterate!
@ Mmusi Maimane
ReplyDeleteThe greatest support SA can give Zimbabweans right now is to make sure Zanu does not rig the 2023 elections and get away with it just because sell out opposition participated to give the regime legitimacy. Judge elections on merit and not who participated.
SADC has endorsed Zanu rigged elections, this must stop!
@ Doctor Do little
ReplyDelete"You a queer chap Wilbert. You keep on and on about not even one reform. Mistakes are made to be corrected. One would wonder why you keep on trying to kill peoples hope. You are not contributing anything. You are only discouraging people from holding on to the only hope they have. What is it that you want done? Do you think Mnangagwa cares a damn whether CCC are involved in the Election? You need to let us know what your solution is instead of repeating yourself like a Parrot."
Failing to implement even one reform was not a mistake; MDC leaders proved beyond doubt that they are corrupt and incompetent. To place any hope in the same MDC leaders getting the nation out of this mess is foolish because only a fool would trust some one who has already proven to be corrupt and incompetent to do any thing right much less with the nation's destiny!
Nelson Chamisa, Tendai Biti, Thokozani Khupe, etc., etc. have all proven beyond all reasonable doubt that they are corrupt and breathtakingly incompetent by failing to implement even one meaningful reform during the 2008 to 2013 GNU. Of course they are all rotten apples and Chamisa welcoming Khupe in CCC is neither here or there since there are rotten apples in the party with or without her.
ReplyDeleteWhat is disconcerting is the naivety of the Zimbabwe electorate. How is it possible that even now, with the benefit of hindsight and countless discussions on the matter, many Zimbabweans still have no clue the GNU was about implementing democratic reforms and that MDC leaders sold out big time. Of course, it is heart breaking that the nation should be so insane as to trust the nation's destiny in the hands of individuals who have already proven beyond doubt that they are corrupt and incompetent. "Shavi renhamo!" as one would say in Shona!
