"Mat provinces are marginalised" blabbered Ruhanya - same foolishness caused mess in post Gaddafi Libya P Guramatunhu

The Zanu PF dictatorship is imploding, the regime was rotten to the core and the centre can not hold. 40 years of this corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical misrule has left the country in economic ruins and the Zanu PF thugs are fighting each other to the death over the ever shrinking national cake.

The nation has good reason to worry about how the Zanu PF dictatorship will end, as things stand the party is sinking into the abyss but still retains' strangle hold on the nation. The danger of Zanu PF dragging the nation into the abyss with it is real.

We must find ways of implementing the democratic reforms, end the curse of rigged elections and thus price free of Zanu PF's political strangle hold. A serious and urgent challenge!

We must also think of what kind of Zimbabwe we want post the Zanu PF dictatorship. The 1980 independence took us from the frying pan of white colonial oppression into the fire of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship. We must learn from that mistake and taking every precaution to avoid repeating the same mistake.
"I agree and support my compatriots who say Mat provinces are marginalized. Let's speak against this and promote equal opportunities for all regions without ambiguity and let's desist from defending stupid things. Why should people come to Harare for nursing interviews!!!" said political commentator Pedzisai Ruhanya.

This is just the type of cheap but very dangerous divide and rule politicking that, if not slammed down forcefully, could see post Zanu PF Zimbabwe ending up like post Gaddafi Libya.

In a country where unemployment has soared to 90%, there is no water and electricity and health care has all but collapsed, schools are closing, etc.; are we expected to believe that there are some region(s) in Zimbabwe that are prospering and none of these problems exist? If there are, then Mr Ruhanya must name them and not just make insinuating but unfounded comments.

How is holding nursing job interviews in Harare singling out and “marginalising” Mat provinces and is not doing the same to all the other remaining seven provinces?

Four decades of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF misrule have left the nation in economic ruins and traumatised, everyone is angry and mistrustful. The last thing the country wants is some village idiot like Ruhanya stoking the anger and mistrust with falsehoods of one region or tribe being "marginalised".

The Zanu PF dictatorship is imploding and the task of rebuilding the nation from the ruins will be tough enough without making it mission impossible by wasting the nation's time, resources and, God forbid, human lives fighting regional and tribal rivalries.

Look at what has happened to Libya since the death of that country’s tyrant, Muammar Mohammed Abu Minyar Gaddafi. The dictator was cornered and killed in 2011 and yet, nearly decade latter, the country is still at war!

No doubt, many Libyans think they are settling old scores, not knowing they are in fact making complete fools of themselves. They were all victims of the Gaddafi dictatorship and by making sure the post Gaddafi Libya enjoyed peace, justice and economic prosperity for all should have been their number one priority. Of course, it is folly to let themselves be dragged into this futile regional conflict that has left the country in a worse economic and political state than it was during Gaddafi!

Post Zanu PF dictatorship Zimbabwe must be spared the fate that has befallen post Gaddafi Libya. And to be certain of that goal, we must not spare the whip and spoil village idiots like Ruhanya whose foolish blabbering knows no bonds!

  1. No one is denying what Zanu PF did during the Gukurahundi madness but it will be a great pity if post Zanu PF Zimbabwe's search for a better Zimbabwe should be held hostage to that madness.

Ruhanya has claimed that Mat provinces has been marginalised without producing a shred of evidence.

You are claiming here that “Now its all Shona and the Ndebele has no where to go and report.” In a country with unemployment already at 90% one would expect to see high levels of unemployment right across the country. And you must have data to support you highly inflammatory claim.

“Zanu PF must learn to let the Ndebele people get employed in their own region,” you say.

Again this is a sweeping statement that is bound to stoke regional and tribal rivalries. Given the high unemployment rate of 90% country wide, it would make a lot of sense to say Zanu PF has failed to create employment opportunities than to substantiate you claim.

In the post Zanu PF Zimbabwe every Zimbabwean will be accorded the same rights and freedoms regardless of gender, tribe, region, race, etc. There are some people who would like to take the bad habits of the Zanu PF dictatorship years including making inflammatory claims. I agree with Patrick that these village idiots must be told in no uncertain terms that they will not be permitted to do so.

  2. After decades of tyrannical rule in which the country's state institutions have been corrupted and to serve the ruling elite at the expense of the common good there danger of the country failing to rebuild these key institutions and restore the rule of law is real. Many countries have failed to make the transition from the dictatorship to a functioning democracy.

After 40 years and still counting of Zanu PF tyrannical rule the danger of the the regime dragging the country into the abyss is real; Mnangagwa and company have no clue how to revive the nation’s economy but they one thing they are determined to do is hold on to power come what may!

The danger of Zimbabwe breaking up into warring factions all fighting to seize power is real too. Dividing the country along tribal and regional lines is the most obvious faulty lines.

Indeed, nothing would please the Zanu PF thugs more than to see the country burn to ashes - if they are not allowed to rule it then no one else will! “Shai sano!” as one would say in Shona.

  3. Obert Mpofu and SK Moyo are corrupt but they are no worse than the other Zanu PF bigwigs from the other regions. To single the two out would be as obnoxious as leaving them out whilst going after the other Zanu PF bigwigs.

You keep talking about "using international laws" to remove ED and Zanu PF but will not name even one of these laws!

“We would like to start year 2020 by congratulating our comrades in Ambazonia for successfully launching the "Ambazonian war of Independence". Needless to say, the government of Cameroon is shaking. This, without any doubt, is proof that the sound of the gun is the only language that the oppressor hears.”

The Zanu PF dictatorship has been a curse for the whole of Zimbabwe and those who claim that there are some region or tribe for whom it has been a blessing are lying. It is totally unacceptable that these individuals should then uses these lies to justify regional and tribal conflict.

The Zanu PF dictatorship is imploding because the party is rotten to the core, the centre can no longer hold.

The post Zanu PF era must be used for the much needed rebuilding of the nation and not for starting pointless conflict.

“If power of numbers work then how did king Mzilikazi gave you hard times”

We have better things to do than discuss the rights and wrongs of the events 200 years ago. And it will be folly to shed even one drop of Zimbabwean blood in another tribal war! So all those on both sides of the tribal divide who have been whipping up the past to justify starting another tribal war must stop this foolishness!

  6. No one with any brain can deny the Gukurahundi massacre but to use that as the starting point of the marginalisation of Mat provinces is an outrage. The whole of Zimbabwe has suffered the ill effects of the Zanu PF dictatorship which emerged from the massacre. The Zimbabwe economy is in total ruins sending unemployment soaring to 90% and millions now live in abject poverty. Other than the few individual ruling elite there is no region or tribe that has been spared the consequences of Zanu PF misrule.

There is a real danger of Zimbabweans talking themselves into a totally pointless tribal conflict!

“Wilbert Mukori something is wrong with your analysis. So brazenly biased yet it is put as if neutral or pro-right. You can not in your sane mind claim that the unemployment in the country is affecting all equally. This is the madness of the highest order. When things were relatively functional the Ndebeles never had it good, they were ostracised, suppressed and discriminated. They were denied educational opportunities and how do you expect them to compete in the job market where a surname is the core and essential requirement. The only way of levelling the ground is to institute what is positive discrimination in favour of Ndebeles for a specified period of time not less than 10.”

“Nhamo yomumwe hairambirwe sadza!” (One does not feel someone else to pain as cutely as the one in pain!) as one would say in Shona.

Still, the corollary is equally true; just because you are not the one feeling the pain one should never dismiss as nothing someone else suffering and it is only one’s pain that counts. I believe the Shona University graduate who is unemployed feels the same pain as a Ndebele University graduate who is unemployed. As someone who has been unemployed, myself, I can fee their pain.

Unemployment is a nauseating 90% plus in Zimbabwe and, unless you can produce the data to prove otherwise, I believe there unemployment rate is the same in every region across the board. Those who have spoken of one region being marginalised have failed to produce the data to prove it.

So, without the supporting evidence, to demand “positive discrimination” on the ground that one is more special than someone else is wrong. Worse still, no nation worth its salt can ever tolerate being held to ransom by those who think they are special and cut above the rest.

We are in this political and economic mess right now because for the last 40 years we have been stuck with Zanu PF village idiots who believe they have the right to deny everyone else a meaningful vote because they are special and deserve the carte blanche power to rule the country. We will be very foolish to finally get rid of these Zanu PF morons only to inherit another group of specials!

The acceptance that every Zimbabwean is equal regardless of tribe, region, gender, race, etc. is absolute and is not negotiable.

“Wilbert asks what should be done. First and foremost we need to change our mindset and look at what politicians offer as opposed to who they are. Prof Lumumba once said our scourge in Africa, Zimbabwe included, is that people with ideas don't have the numbers BUT those with numbers are utterly and absolutely clueless. Put simple we are just like chaff that goes with the wind oblivious of the destination. While politics plays a part in the stability of a country its economic solutions that can solve economic problems.”

Could not agree with you more there; we certainly need to change the mindset of our people. One of the corrupting influences of our corrupt and incompetent politicians is to offer the people quick fixes where there are no quick fix.

Telling someone they have been marginalised is a quick fix. One does not have to worry about how to revive the country’s economy that is in ruins to create employment opportunities, for example. A decree, forcing all employers to employ only those from one tribe will result is see unemployment rate fall from 90% to 0% over night!

Of course, the decree will only create chaos without solving anything! It is important to explain that to the people.

  9. The Gukurahundi massacre affected some parts of the country and not others, that is a historic fact. The Zanu PF misrule post the signing of the Unity Accord has affected every one in Zimbabwe; that too is a historic fact.

The post Zanu PF era must be about rebuilding the country for the good of all Zimbabweans. With unemployment at 90% plus across the land there clearly a lot to do and those we would be very foolish to waste time searching for Ruhanya's imaginary marginalised regions. That is the kind of language that takes away the nation's attention from the important task of rebuilding!

  10. There is no doubt that the last 40 years of corrupt and tyrannical Zanu PF have left millions of ordinary Zimbabwe poor, angry and, worst of all, distrustful and vulnerable to exploitation by selfish vultures like Ruhanya. There is not one jot of evidence to support the claim even one region in Zimbabwe has been spare the consequences of the Zanu PF misrule.

Some failed politicians have made similar outrageous claims of one group being favoured to bolster their sinking political careers. Ruhanya is a known for his attention seeking antics.

The nation will have its work cut out rebuilding the country's schools, hospitals, roads, restoring the rule of law and restoring the people's trust in each other. The last thing the nation wants is start on the wrong foot; have people fight each other to the death for the imaginary trophy of who received the most abuse from the Zanu PF dictatorship!

POLAD was launched in May 2019 and now nine months down the line the country is still in serious economic trouble.

The trouble with shallow minded people is they are easily fooled. Mnangagwa came up with his "Zimbabwe is open for business!" mantra and the half wits believed him. He had quite a following with his high powered entourages all clad in the brightly coloured scarf. The expected flood of investors never materialised because investors are a shrewd lot; they could see that Zimbabwe was still a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent and vote rigging thugs. They were not fooled by the removal of one dictator only to replace him with another dictator!

Even if Chamisa and his MDC had joined POLAD last May, it will still be a forum of "actors", as Dzinemunenzwa rightly said, and the country will still be in a mess!

As long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state ruled by corrupt, incompetent and vote rigging thugs there will be no meaningful economic recovery. None!

Which of these, individually or in tandem, has done more damage to the nation's cause of fighting for free, fair and credible elections:

    a) failing to implement the reforms when one had the golden opportunity to do so, especially during the 2008 to 2013 GNU

    b) participating in flawed and illegal elections and thus giving the process some modicum of credibility

    c) joining POLAD, a forum of third rate amateur actors, who have been dismissed as time wasting even by village idiots.

"Both POLAD and ZANU PF system must go."

What about MDC? After all they are the one who wasted the GNU years and failed to implement even one reform!

Did you see Professor Jonathan Moyo's recent article in Bulawayo 24? It is full of the usual rubbish but like our half-wit Dzinemunenzwa here, he too had some flash of enlightenment.

"Looking back over the last 20 years, the people have squandered three opportunities for real change in 2000; then 2009 to 2013; and in 2017 when ZanuPF & the Army dug their own grave only for the people to fail to bury the two. Now there's yet another opportunity: 2020!" said Moyo.

It was MDC who squandered the opportunity for real change in 2009 to 2013!

  14. The Gukurahundi massacre in 1983 to 1987 was a stain on post independence Zimbabwe; every level headed Zimbabwean is rightly ashamed of. Sadly the Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs' "moment of madness" as the dictator called Gukurahundi, did not stop with the signing of the Unity Accord and merger with PF Zapu. It marked the beginning of yet another epoch of corrupt and tyrannical rule under the de facto one-party dictatorship that was imposed after the singing of the accord.

Yes Zanu PF is imploding and the de facto one-party dictatorship is sinking into the abyss.

We will only have ourselves to blame if the post Zanu PF era was to be marked by economic chaos and social upheaval. Of course, it will be foolish to have the economic chaos and worse because of Gukurahundi and/or the dictatorship. We should be committing ourselves to making sure the madness is never repeated and not picking it up from where Zanu PF left!

  15. Zimbabwe’s Finance Minister, Professor Mthuli Ncube has been described as a “fundamentally smart” person who is, unfortunately, working in a wrong environment.

This was said by the director of the Harare-based Zimbabwe Democracy Institute (ZDI), Pedzisai Ruhanya who posted on Twitter saying:

I insist that FM @MthuliNcube is fundamentally smart despite the contradictions he faces coz his of workmates, their cartels, parasitic, predatory networks and the military complex. He advised that we dollarize until we get orderly, they refused but where are we; full throttle.

Pedzisai Ruhanya is fast earning a reputation of one whose tongue is always a block or two ahead of his empty head.

A few days ago he was blubbering the nonsense about “Mat provinces being marginalised” just to whip up tribal and regional hatred. In a country is which unemployment has soared to 90%, hospitals and schools are closing, 90% of the population are poor and 34% of them living in extreme poverty, etc.; the village idiot could not name one province that has been spared of these realities.

Today the village idiot’s tongue is once again getting ahead of his empty head. Professor Mthuli Ncube KNEW that Zanu PF rigged the 2018 elections making the country a pariah state. He also KNEW that one of the root causes of Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown was corruption and he, as Minister of Finance, would do nothing to stop the wholesale looting because this was a “No go area!”

Professor Ncube has targeted the poorest of the poor taxing them to death with his 2% transaction tax for example whilst leaving the filthy rich elite untouched.

He also KNEW that there will be no meaningful economic recovery as long as Zimbabwe remained a pariah state ruled by corrupt and vote rigging thugs.

So Professor Mthuli Ncube KNEW he was not going to revive the Zimbabwe economic, indeed, his appointment was meant to deceive the more naive and gullible people into believing Zimbabwe was going to recover when there was no chance of that. He, for his part, accepted the appointment out of greed, period.

What, one must ask our village idiot, is “fundamentally smart” in being greedy and selling out one’s fellow country men and women to the corrupt and illegitimate Zanu PF dictatorship for thirty pieces of silver?
