"Chamisa failed God" said Mnangagwa - neither won, illegal process cannot produce legitimate winner N Garikai

Zimbabwe is in this political and economic mess because the country has been stuck with a corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF regime. The party has rigged elections to stay in power.
Whilst the nation has made a determined effort to end the Zanu PF dictatorship one cannot deny that corrupt, and incompetent MDC leaders have undermined the fight for democratic change. MDC sold-out during the 2008 GNU by failing to get even one reform implemented. Even now MDC’s foolishness is helping Zanu PF stay in power!
“Unashamedly, a knavish Mr Mnangagwa depicting a holier-than-thou attitude sensationally claims that President Chamisa has failed God because he refused to accept the ZEC cooked and ConCourt approved daylight robbery of the people’s will,” said MDC youth assembly spokesperson, Stephen Chuma.
Chuma was reacting to a story in which Mnangagwa accused Chamisa of “failing God” for refusing to accept him, Mnangagwa, as the winner of last year’s presidential election.
The whole elections process was flawed and illegal, we do not need divine intervention to tell us that this Zanu PF regime, not just Mnangagwa, is illegitimate, has no democratic mandate to govern and should step down.
Chamisa is himself being knavish by claiming to have won the presidential race and yet has failed to produce the V11 forms, summary sheets of the vote count at each polling station, verified voters’ roll, etc. so we can all verify his result!
All those with democratic credential worth a spit who observed the elections have condemn the process as a farce.
“The final results as announced by the Electoral Commission contained numerous errors and lacked adequate traceability, transparency and verifiability,” wrote the 246 member EU Election Observer Mission.
“Finally, the restrictions on political freedoms, the excessive use of force by security forces and abuses of human rights in the post-election period undermined the corresponding positive aspects during the pre-election campaign. As such, many aspects of the 2018 elections in Zimbabwe failed to meet international standards.”
What Chamisa is agreeing that the elections did not meet the international standard in that the process was not transparent, verifiable, etc., etc. However, if he is declared the winner then the elections were free, fair and credible; the most transparent, verifiable, etc. ever.
In other words, Chamisa is not interested in judging the elections on the basis of the election process from start to finish. He only cares about the result, if he wins the elections were free and fair and if he loses they were not free and fair. This is the same mentality Mnangagwa and his Zanu PF friends have!

So both Chamisa and Mnangagwa have failed the people of Zimbabwe and God by failing to ensure the elections were free, fair and credible from start to finish. Each of them is claiming to be the legitimate winner of a flawed and illegal election process, an oxymoron since an illegitimate process cannot produce a legitimate result!

  1. A GROUP of Zimbabwe churches have stormed the bruising legitimacy row between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his MDC rival Nelson Chamisa with Family of God Church founder, Reverend Andrew Wutaunashe declaring the Zanu PF number one was genuine President.

This is just nonsense; Wutaunashe and friends can say what they like that will not change the historic facts, the truth and the political reality on the ground. Zanu PF blatantly rigged last year's elections by denying 3 million Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote, by failing to produce a verified voters' roll, by using reducing rural voters into medieval serfs beholden to the Zanu PF landlords, etc. The consequence of blatantly rigging the elections was that Zimbabwe is a pariah state and no one likes to do business in a pariah state. This is the political and economic reality we are facing today.

We can bury our heads in the sand and declare the elections were free, fair and credible from the rooftops that will not change the reality of the worsening economic meltdown, for example. Indeed, the economic meltdown - the hyperinflation, closed hospitals, economic shortages, etc., etc. - will only get worse as long as Zimbabwe remains a pariah state.

Zimbabwe is in this economic mess because we have failed to hold free, fair and credible elections for the last 39 years. We must grasp this nettle and cure ourselves of this curse of rigged elections.

  2. Detail matters! Those who have failed to appreciate the difference between opinion and fact because they failed to appreciate the subtleties of detail, for example have reacted to the two in exactly the same way with disastrous consequence. It is the subtle detail of the slit and the rounded pupil that separates a a poisonous snake and a non-poisonous snake and knowing the difference can mean the difference between life and death!

It is a great tragedy that many Zimbabweans, to this day, have failed to make the judgement call on whether of not last year’s elections were free, fair and credible.

Whilst many have accepted as fact and not opinion that Zanu PF deliberately denied 3 million Zimbabweans in the diaspora the vote. They also appreciate that this is a very significant number given both Mnangagwa and Chamisa claim that they won the elections with 2.4 million and 2.6 million vote respective. Still they have failed to get their heads round that the elections could not be condemned on this point; the figures might as well be in Chinese, there have rolled off like water off a duck’s back.

They have accepted that ZEC has failed to produce a verified voters roll as a historic fact but this too was water off a duck’s back because they have failed to appreciate that without a verified voters’ roll it is impossible to verify who is on the roll, who voted, who was denied the vote, who voted multiple times, etc.

Some people even accept the EU’s Election report as factual including its conclusion that the “elections failed to meet international standards”. But because the report did not explicitly say the elections were not free, fair and credible or better still they were rigged; they have chosen to accept the elections were free, fair and credible and NOT rigged.

Some people do accept that the elections were not free, fair and credible as regards the presidential race not fine for the other races. If you cannot verify the presidential votes because there is there is no voters’ roll surely you cannot verify the parliamentary votes too because you are using the same voters’ roll.

The root cause of Zimbabwe’s economic meltdown is the country’s failure to remove this corrupt, incompetent and tyrannical Zanu PF dictatorship from office for the last 39 years. Zimbabwe is a pariah state ruled by corrupt and murderous thugs. No one wants to do business in a pariah state because of all the hassle, uncertainties, shortages, lawlessness, etc. Those who have failed to see this is because of their inability to pay attention to detail!

There is a linkage between good governance, rigged elections and economic meltdown. Those who cannot see it have only themselves to blame because they will remain stuck in this hell-on-earth of abject poverty, soaring inflation, hospital closers, etc. etc.

    Detail matters; it is everything!
