"Zanu PF is a party of thugs," Tim Sebastian tells party apologist to his face Wilbert Mukori

Rinemanyanga hariputirwi!” (Evil can never be hidden forever, it will always come out!) so goes the Shona saying.

There is no doubt that Robert Gabriel Mugabe and his Zanu PF regime have done a lot of evil things during the last 37 years and counting of their corrupt reign of terror. Robert Mugabe, he has led from the front on this, has shamelessly falsified or denied of facts and glossing over those he could not deny for the single purpose of portraying his evil dictatorship as Gods greatest gift to the people of Zimbabwe.

Nick Mangwana, Zanu PF’s representative in the UK and Europe, is a die-hard Zanu PF apologist who has learned the art of denying and falsifying historic facts at the grandmaster Mugabe’s feet and learnt it well. But there is only so much even a seasoned apologist like Nick can rebuff. In a recent Conflict Zone interview, the presenter, Tim Sebastian bombarded Nick with the historic facts of Zanu PF’s ruinous reign of terror the Zanu PF apologist melted like bee wax in the midday African sun.

The truth historic facts of Zanu PF past in coming out bit by bit and soon the trickle will turn into a flood. No one, not Mugabe himself much less his acolytes, apologists and propaganda specialists can stop the flood or deny the truth. Tim Sebastian had done his research and was spoilt for choice of what historic bombs to lobby at the Zanu PF apologist seating before him! The two subjects Nick tried to deny was that Zanu PF destroyed the Zimbabwe economy and that the replacement of Mugabe with Mnangagwa has changed nothing. See video of the full interview on Bulawayo 24.

In his 37 years in power Mugabe and his Zanu PF thugs have completely destroyed the country’s economy. 90% of our people are out of work and many have never held a formal job for 20 or more. Zimbabwe is now the poorest nation in Africa and 72.3% of the population live on US$1.00 or less a day. Basic services like clean running water have all but collapsed.

Meanwhile Mugabe and the few ruling elite have lived in unparalleled luxuries and have amassed wealth that even mega Movie Star will not match. Mugabe’s has 15 large farms, business interests all over the world and his Blue Roof mansion is valued at US$ 2 billion.

The Mugabe regime has murdered over 30 000 innocent Zimbabweans to establish and retain the de facto one-party, Zanu PF, dictatorship. The coup last month was about removing one dictator, Mugabe, to replace him with another, Mnangagwa; the dictatorship itself has remained untouched, if not reinvigorated.

Mnangagwa was not only Mugabe’s right hand man all these last 37 years but his chief enforcer. It is Joint Operation Command (JOC); a Junta, comprising the top brass in the Army, CIO, Police and Prison Services, a select few from party and government and headed by Robert Mugabe and deputized by none other than Mnangagwa; that has ruled Zimbabwe with an iron fist all these years. It was JOC that has masterminded and executed all corruption, vote rigging, political murders and all the other mischiefs and treasonous acts by the dictatorship.

The coup was a precipitous act by the Junta to stop Mugabe handing over the presidency to his wife Grace instead of passing it to Mnangagwa, a JOC member. Although Mnangagwa was out of the country, running for his life, he has himself admitted that he had “remained in touch with the coup plotters throughout”.

The coup was code named “Operation Restore Legacy”, said General Chiwenga, the coup ringleader. The only legacy the coup has restored is the supremacy of JOC. It came as no surprise, that many of the Junta members are today ministers, special advisors, deputy ministers, etc. in President Mnangagwa’s new administration. No doubt General Chiwenga and General Phillip Valerio Sibanda will be appointed to fill the two VP positions after the Zanu PF congress this coming weekend.

The key Zanu PF dictatorship players in will finally move out of the shadows of the shadowy JOC into the full limelight of cabinet and thus restoring thugs’ secretive brotherhood bond, the legacy Chiwenga was talking about, that JOC members will rule Zimbabwe forever.

Of course, Tim Sebastian was right to call Zanu PF a party of “thugs” and Zimbabweans “deserve better”.

Mugabe lost the March 2008 vote to Morgan Tsvangirai who polled 73%, by Mugabe’s own inadvertent admission. After six weeks of recounting, ordered by Mugabe himself, ZEC had reduce this to 47% to force the run-off. The Junta had contrived to use wanton violence to force the people to vote for Mugabe.

“What was accomplished by the bullet cannot be undone by the ballot!” Robert Mugabe had thundered to spar his thugs on to beat, rape and even murder innocent Zimbabweans.

And yet we still have apologists like Nick Mangwana, stoically insisting that Zimbabweans “voted for Zanu PF and deserved Zanu PF”. The poor idiot still thinks that his stubborn denial of the historic facts can, somehow, turn rigged elections into free, fair and credible elections, thugs into democrats, etc.

President Mnangagwa is a thug, he owes his elevated position to his fellow Zanu PF thugs and they are in his government for no other reason other than to claim their own share of the spoils of power. Zanu PF’s past-history of corruption, vote rigging and tyranny and his own part in it are all coming out in the open and there is nothing anyone can do to stop or deny these facts. The Zanu PF thugs and the many evil things Zanu PF has committed are all coming out, a milestone round Mnangagwa’s neck that will drag him and his presidency into the abyss.

“Will Zimbabwe ever have justice under Mugabe’s party?” Tim Sebastian asked.

The answer is NO!

Zimbabwe is due to hold parliamentary and presidential elections next year. The pressure is mounting to make sure the elections are free, fair and credible. If the elections are indeed free and fair, they will be the country’s first ever. Zimbabweans would want to boot out Zanu PF and to quickly implement the democratic reforms to another dictatorship rising from the ashes of this Zanu PF dictatorship to haunt them.

  1. Eddie Cross says Tsvangirai is the only one who can defeat Mnangagwa next year.

For 37 years Zanu PF has pretended that Mugabe was a great leader and would not see him for what he is an incompetent, corrupt, vote rigging and murderous tyrant. Now MDC is doing the same too, for 17 years now the party would not accept the reality that Morgan Tsvangirai is a corrupt and incompetent leader.

The people of Zimbabwe are going to the polls next year and if they choice for president is between Mnangagwa, a corrupt, vote rigging and murderous tyrant, Mujuru, a corrupt and incompetent simpleton and Morgan Tsvangirai, another corrupt and incompetent simpleton then a spoilt ballot will be my choice.

The people of Zimbabwe must realise that we need to change the political system that Mugabe imposed on the nation which has stifled all meaningful political discourse and democratic competition. Our political stage is full of thugs because one has to be a thug to thrive in Zimbabwe’s mudded political waters. What we need is to drain the swamp, implemented the democratic reforms designed to end the dictatorship and allow freedom expression and free media to once again thrive.

The only man and woman fit to be president of Zimbabwe will come from a democratic Zimbabwe and not a country under this oppressive dictatorship. This is why it is important for Zimbabwe to implement the democratic reforms first BEFORE holding the next elections.

Morgan Tsvangirai was advised by SADC leaders not to take part in the July 2013 elections without implementing the reforms first. Sadly, MDC would not listen but this advice is still as valid today as it was in 2013. The Zimbabweans must now aim to have next year’s elections declared null and void by gathering as much evidence as they can to prove the process was not free, fair and credible.

The opposition are only taking part in these flawed elections out of greed and they hope they people will vote for them out of sheer desperation. The people must start boycotting opposition parties who are going to contest and make it clear that they would rather have a spoilt ballot than be blackmailed by either Zanu PF or the opposition. When the number of spoilt ballots start to exceed the number of votes cast for the winning candidate, no one can ignore that!

  2. The Zanu PF thugs are desperate to stay in power so desperate they will try anything and, at the moment, a charm offensive seems to be the fashionable thing to do. General Sibanda will maintain his stance on soldiers desisting to harass civilians as long as those civilians are not threatening to vote Zanu PF out of office. As soon as the civilians threaten regime change, it will be back to soldiers being deplored to harass, beat, rape and even murder civilians.

What nincompoops like General Sibanda have completely failed to accept is that the present system of the Zanu PF dictatorship has failed. There is 90% unemployment, 72.3% of the people are living on US$1.00 per day or less, etc. only an idiot would think this can go on!

If next year’s elections are free, fair and credible; there is growing pressure for them to be and General Sibanda’s olive branch to the people is one result of that growing pressure; then Zimbabweans would be voting to end Zanu PF’s rule first and foremost. Many people are now realising that the nation will never ever get out of the mess it is in as long as Zanu PF remains in power.

When people realise that the corruption, vote rigging and oppression under Mugabe has continue after the tyrant was forced to resign they will soon change the “Mugabe must go!” to “Zanu PF must go!” Zanu PF will go just as Mugabe did go!

  3. Mukanya Thomas Mapfumo ended up telling Nick Mangwana "Pfetseke!" (Shut up!) on VOA. Even if his own relatives were murdered by the regime during Gukuhundi as he is claiming that does not give him the right to dismiss the mass murders as "a mistake"! We all know this was a calculated move to establish and retain the de facto one-party state that has ruled and ruined this country.

People like Nick are the curse of any nation, they will sell-out on other people's rights even the right to life if they are offered thirty pieces of silver. Nick and his type have played a major role in sprucing Mugabe and Zanu PF 's image at the public expense. Nick must be asked to explain himself to the nation for such as this outrageous defence of the murder most foul!
A regime that murders over 30 000 innocent civilians for selfish political advantage is a regime of thugs, period!

Wilbert is speaking for 90% who are unemployed and many of them have never held a formal job. He is demanding that every Zimbabwean must have their freedoms and basic human rights including the right to free, fair and credible elections and the right to life. You can call that "evil wishful thoughts for Zimbabwe" but only a fool would agree with you.

You and your fellow apologists like Nick here have made a career and paid fortunes for defending the corrupt, vote rigging and murderous Zanu PF dictatorship and attacking any and all who dare criticize the regime. The regime is on its last legs and you lot will be asked to repeat all this nonsense you have been saying especially the likes of Nick Mangwana his face is well known to the nation. As for you Sarah, you can hide in the space of www but even then do not be too sure you are a needle in a hay stake!

  5. There is no way Chihuri managed to build that mansion on the merge salary of a ZRP commissioner's salary alone. He too has some explaining to do or the mansion must be seized!

He said in his doctorate thesis that the greatest challenge for the Police was to keep “regime change agents at bay”. We now can see with our own eyes why he was abusing his power to stifle democratic change and keep Zanu PF in power at all cost. He had a mansion to build and with Zanu PF in power his source of loot was guaranteed.

We have some serious cleaning up to do when this Zanu PF dictatorship finally collapse.

“Like a prophet however I could see the non existent future of the MDC in Zimbabwean politics. As this “Coup that wasn’t a coup“ /Revolution was Operation Restore Zanu PF Legacy. To be further precise, it was Operation Restore Mnangagwa,” you said.
Thank you for reminding the people of Zimbabwe we are our own worst enemy because we are short sighted. The dog-eat-dog infighting in Zanu PF was only to our advantage in that whichever faction was left standing it will be weaker than the united party and that should have been the limit to our involvement in the firing of ED and the coup that followed. It was only because we are short sighted that we let ourselves be sucked in and pick sides.

Having joined the Lacoste victory march on 18 November 2017 it has been impossible to get Mnangagwa to listen to our demands for free and fair elections. Mnangagwa is hope to ride on the wave of public euphoria of the removal of Mugabe to rig next year's elections. He will have 5 years to consolidate his power base. People will see then that they had been hoodwinked but it will be too late.

There is no one more blind than one with seeing eyes but refuse to open them because they are happier with the wish than reality. Unfortunately life is governed by reality and not wishful thinking!

No one has ever suggested that the opposition or the public should have confronted the coup plotters. The beef here is that the public should not have greeted these coup plotters as heroes because they are the ones who, until the coup, had ruthlessly silenced the people to keep Mugabe in power.

It is the same thugs who had pointed the gun at us the public to force us to vote for Mugabe who were pointing the gun at Mugabe to force him to resign. Just because they were pointing the gun at Mugabe did not change them from being thugs. Our struggle these last 37 years is to end the politics of thuggery and we are not ending it by celebrating it even if it is directed at the biggest thug of the day.

Next year Zimbabwe is going into another election, if you think these Zanu PF thugs are going to risk losing power and their right to loot by holding free and fair elections then you are very naive indeed!

  8. Zanu PF is a party of thugs and once they start fighting each other there is no stopping the fight. The only rule they have lived by is rules are there to be broken and so when fighting breaks out among themselves there is no such thing as a truce because each thug knows the other will strike to kill before the ink is dry!

Chihuri must be thinking of running away for dear life just as Mnangagwa had to do four weeks ago! When Chihuri was booed at Mnangagwa's swearing in ceremony that was his clue that the dictatorship were after him. Now he is just a deadman walking!

The hunt for "criminals around Mugabe" has started but has a long way to run!

  9. Many Zimbabweans are painfully aware that Mnangagwa is just the flip side of the same coin, the Zanu PF dictatorship. Heads Mugabe and now it is tail and so Mnangagwa is in State House. The real political change necessitate the implementing of the democratic reforms designed to dismantle the dictatorship itself. The coup was about flipping the coin.
What is annoying here is that MP Eddie Cross was a senior member of the MDC during the GNU and they had the golden opportunity to implement the reforms that would have condemned the dictatorship to the smelting oven. MDC failed to get even one single democratic reform implemented in five years of the GNU.
“He (Mnangagwa) needs a team of competent people who can sell our policies and programs as being the way out of this mess and to take us into the future, he needs people of capacity and integrity. He needs money – lots of it because you cannot fund a national political campaign without resources. Finally, he need the International Community to stick to its guns and maintain the stance that their help and assistance will only be given to a Government that has clear cut democratic credentials,” says Cross.
If Tsvangirai had a team of competent people then why did MDC fail to get even one democratic reform implemented in five years!
MP Cross are now desperate to get back on the gravy train and they have buzzing around like house flies tell us how miserable we are under Zanu PF just to get our votes again. What many Zimbabweans now know is that MDC sold-out during the GNU and they will do no better if they got back into power. What Zimbabwe needs right now is to implement the democratic reform to create a democratic environment which will allow quality leaders to emerge. We must ignore MP Cross and his MDC friends, they are nothing more that annoying house-flies, in this case we know what they have just been feeding on – s***t!

  10. “Zimbabwe has grappled with cash shortages since April 2016, largely due to externalisation and the hoarding of money. Reports suggest that roughly US$3 billion was externalised to Mauritius, the Far East and Botswana between the period of 2015 to 2017,” Spotlight reported.
    Only $3 billion!!!
In one of his more reckless moments Mugabe admitted two years ago that Zimbabwe was being “swindled” of $15 billion in diamond revenue. No one to date has ever been arrested and not one dollar recovered. We also know that the swindling has continued unchecked because then Minister of Finance told parliament a year ago that he was still receiving 1/6 of the revenue he expected from diamonds.
We also know that the $15 billion Mugabe was talking about was from one swindler, Joice Mujuru. Spotlight Zimbabwe showed evidence of her diamond trading to that amount. Of course, Mai Mujuru was not the only one involved in the wholesale looting that has been happening in Zimbabwe.
The US$ 3 billion is but the ears of the hippo the rest is beast is under the muddy water.
President Mnangagwa will recover the ears of the hippo but little else because he is targeting G40 faction members only and yet the looting has included Zanu PF from all sides of the Zanu PF factional divide. The posse of generals who staged the coup and installed him into State House are among the many diamond swindlers, who is he fooling by pretending all those around him are as innocent as a lamb!
The only hope of ending corruption in Zimbabwe is by implementing the democratic reforms so that those in power are democratically accountable to the people and not accountable to the swindlers wielding the guns as is the case here.

  11. Chihuri's mansion gutted by fire and the Police Commissioner comes under increasing pressure from his estwhile Zanu PF thugs. He is considered a G40 sympathiser and is now paying for it.

Here is the man who boasted of fighting against "regime change agents" when he was in fact fighting to stifle democractic change to keep Zanu PF in power so he and his Zanu PF cronies can continue the looting. Now his Zanu PF cronies have turned against him and they are hunting him down. "Chihuri avanyama yamagora!" (Chihuri is now meat of the vultures, Zanu PF thugs!)

  12. This is a factional war in which the State media is telling the truth about G40 members, why should we refuse to listen? Yes the Herald lied about Dzamara but it did not lie about Mai Mujuru once she was booted out of Zanu PF and it is not lying about Chihuri now that he labelled G40 supporter! It is you, Mandeya, and all the other G40 members who are lying here!

  13. Patrick Chinamasa signs a loan agreement with the Chinese ambassador today.
China has played a major role in propping up the Mugabe dictatorship in the last 37 years and they are clearly determined to continue. We are desperately fighting for meaningful democratic changes in Zimbabwe and we are not just fight the Zanu PF dictatorship but the dictatorship’s principle sponsor, the Chinese. The Chinese are not the long suffering people of Zimbabwe’s friend but their arch-enemy.
The deal China is signing with Mnangagwa is not about building roads and hospitals, that is the cover, it is to supply the Zanu PF dictatorship with all it needs to ensure “Zanu PF ichatonga! Igotonga!” (Zanu PF will rule! And rule!) as Mnangagwa is found of boasting!
I can understand why the people DRC staged demonstrations against the Chinese national in their country; Zimbabweans must now wake up to the reality that the Chinese are the modern day colonialists who brought our forefathers shiny beads and alcohol in exchange for our ivory, diamonds, enslaved blacks, etc. The Chinese are robing us blind of our diamonds and other resources and they are smart enough to know as long as Zanu PF remain in power they will continue the looting paying the Zanu PF crooks a fraction of the true value of the loot.
Whatever China spends in propping up Mnangagwa we can be certain that they will recover all of it 100 or 1000 fold and with such humongous returns at stake it is no surprise that China is going all out to make sure there will never be democracy in Zimbabwe. If we want democracy in Zimbabwe we will have to the Chinese, Zanu PF are just their proxy puppet.

  14. Zanu PF is a party of thugs once they start fighting amoungst themselves there is stopping them.
As an other dictatorship, Zanu PF resisted evolutionary, orderly and controlled change but only to store up the anger for a more violent change which we are witnessing now. Most dictatorship end in brutal violence and that is exactly how Zanu PF is ending. If Zimondi is considered a G40 supporter then he is beacon! Of course, everyone in Zanu PF is corrupt but if you are in the losing faction then you are one of the "criminals around Mugabe" who must be hunted down. If the G40 faction had prevailed the all the Lacoste supporters would be the criminals!

What are you afraid we might uncover? That the dead were murdered in cold blood and did not die of natural cause as falsified in their death certificate? We suspect foul play and it is in our interest that we establish the truth especially when those suspected of the murder are still scot free and worse still continue to hold positions of trust and authority. If they abused their position before what is there to stop them abusing it again?

Besides, the task of digging the old graves to investigate the cause of the suspected murder can be carried out by a handful of people the task of economic recovery can be done by the rest of the 14 million. It is nonsense to even suggest that the absence of 5 people will even be noticed!
It is up to those interested in uncovering the truth to dig up old graves and they must disregard the calls from those who prefer to bury the truth with the dead!
