Professor Moyo accuse Charamba of plotting and "unprecedented" attack - what a hypocrite. By Patrick Guramatunhu

A hypocrite, according to the dictionary I have, is “ 1. a person who pretends to have virtues, moral or religious beliefs, principles, etc., that he or she does not actually possess, especially a person whose actions belie stated beliefs. 2. a person who feigns some desirable or publicly approved attitude, especially one whose private life, opinions, or statements belie his or her public statements.”

Professor Jonathan Moyo is a hypocrite per excellence; he fits the two definitions to the t!

“The Statement declares support for scurrilous and unprecedented political attacks on Cabinet Ministers, including myself, who are also Politburo members by the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Media, Information and Broadcasting Services, George Charamba,” complained Professor Moyo in his own press statement rebuttal, with the feigned sanctimonious piety of plaster saint.

When it comes to using the public media to attach other people the Professor is the worst offender. The nation only knows too well of how he has his two stints as Minister of Information to brainwash the nation as he turned the country Public print and electronic media into a well-oiled Zanu PF propaganda machine. He also used the public media to de-campaign and destroy his perceive political rivalries within the party.

It was Professor Moyo who masterminded the scandalous corruption stories by Premier Medical Aid Society (PMAS) CEO, Cuthbert Dube and other Board Members including George Charamba. The former was being paid $500 000 a month in salary and allowances whilst the latter was get as much as $100 000 per year in fees.

Whilst other political parties are built on ideology and sound achievements, Zanu PF is built on corruption and tyrannical oppression. Naturally the party has vehemently denied that there was corruption in the country much less in public office and involving party officials.

President Mugabe, himself the leading exponent of those denying that there was no corruption and it was the one destroying the economy. Instead he led the charge in heaping all the blame for the country’s economic woes on the “illegal sanctions imposed by the evil British imperialists and the Western allies”. The expose of rampant corruption in PMAS and other public institutions and parastatals was putting to the sword the lie that there was no corruption. President Mugabe had no choice but to step in and stop the exposes; he knew who was behind the leaks and did not mince his words. He publicly denounced Professor Moyo calling him “the devil incarnate and the weevil destroying Zanu PF from within”!

“It is extraordinary and indeed scary that the Dzivarasekwa Presidential Guard Barracks was used as a venue for a meeting whose purpose was to plot and threaten physical harm against a Cabinet Minister and Politburo member appointed to both offices by His Excellency, the President. This was a gross and unacceptable abuse of a State facility,” continued the sanctimonious saint Jonathan Moyo.

Professor, what were you and a few other doing in Tsholotsho in 2004 if not plotting a coup against the same president whose appointed ministers and politburo members you now consider “untouchable”.

Professor Moyo was one of the ministers who attending Grace Mugabe’s “baby dumping” rallies to ouster Joice Mujuru in 2014. Mujuru was then accused of plotting to assassinate President Mugabe a charge that has never been proven or had anyone arrested over to this day. It was none other than Professor Moyo who had the last word on this; he still maintained the matter was still under police investigation and those responsible will be charged.

When is come to plotting destroy others, succession and coups and factional wars Professor Moyo is the granddad political intrigue and all manner cloak and dagger devilish activities but being the granddad of hypocrites he is quick in reaching for the Bible especially when he is the target of an attack!

  1. “Where were such organizations when the same land was taken inhumanly from the majority blacks and given to a few whites during colonial times? If taking back one possession is a crime then HRW and its handlers can sing to the heavens and Zimbabwe will never back down,” you said.

You have a very selective memory because HRW did not criticize Zanu PF over the land issue only but over the regime’s failure to hold free and fair elections and the many political murders the regime has committed. The regime has responded to these with the same go “sing to the heavens”!

The nation is right now engage in a fight with the regime to implement the GPA reforms so the next elections are free, fair and credible and why is the regime refusing to back down?

You are bringing up the land issue because you do not want to talk about the all the regime's other human rights violations. For year the regime has denied the sanctions were imposed because of its land redistribution and denying it has never rigged any elections.

In 2008 not even SADC or AU observers would agree with the elections were free and fair. President Mugabe signed the GPA agreeing to implement a raft of democratic reforms designed to stop the regime from rigging future elections; that was the condition for AU to restore his legitimacy. Sadly none of the reforms were implemented because of the breath-taking incompetence of Tsvangirai.

Zanu PF has already seized most of the white owned farms except for one or two farms still in white hands. The issue of free and fair elections affect all 14 million Zimbabweans whose freedoms and rights are still being denied.

Tell you what; none of your dirty diversionary tricks are going to stop people demanding the right to free and fair elections. The regime is going to back down and all the GPA reforms will be implemented!

  3. Mutsvangwa can have his tiff with Professor Moyo but it is his constant reference to his lib-eration war credential that is annoying as if that alone is enough to prove he is right. If he cannot state his case without talking of his war credentials then he must shut up!
Liberation heroes are the first class citizens and the rest of the people are third class citizens. If all he liberated is himself so he can oppress the rest then should now that no freedom lov-ing person would ever accept that.
He is minister of war vets and how many war vets has his ministry assisted? This is get an-other one of President Mugabe gimmick meant to make war vets feel that they are special when in fact he is just abusing them in dirty tactical game of divide and rule!
After 36 years of corrupt and tyrannical rule anyone with half a brain must know by now that Mugabe and Zanu PF have failed the nation and we, all thinking Zimbabweans, must now work for democratic change for the good of the country and all its people. Those seeking to perpetuate a tyrannical regime because of meaningless titles and positions the regime has conferred on them must now choose which side they are belong to.
Idiots like Mutsvangwa have been hunting with the hound and now the hounds are after him he is hoping for public sympathy! It is people like him and Jabulani Sibanda who have driven a wedge between war vet and the people and made many true freedom fighters hang their heads in shame!

  4. President Mugabe created the G40 faction because he needed it to count Mnangagwa faction after the purge of the Mujuru faction. Mugabe has always wanted the party to be divided so he would be seen as the one uniting it; outwardly he wants to be seen as the one always fighting for unity and so the more he can divide the party behind the scene the more credit he will have as the peacemaker.

His real nightmare is Mujuru went with most of the heavy weights in the party and those that have remained had pinned the hopes on Mnangagwa and cannot switch, not as readily as the like of Professor Moyo, anyway. So his G40 faction is weak and it is being led by Grace Mu-gabe - she made a complete fool of herself. Grace and Mujuru have one thing in common, they are both brain-dead but whilst Mujuru has said very little and thus left many people with little material to prove she is brain-dead Grace has opened her mouth and left no one in any doubt that she is brain-dead.

VP Mphoko is not much use to G40 since he cannot even count on the people in his rural vil-lage to follow him. Mugabe appointed him, an unknown who is as confused and malleable as Simon Muzenda or Joice Mujuru, to create a new faction in former PF Zapu, his usual divide and rule.

If Mugabe was to kick the bucket today, G40 will disappear before nightfall! Mugabe would like G40 to takeover after him, if for no other reason than to fix Mnangagwa; he cannot resist the sadistic pleasure of Mnangagwa brought crashing down after soaring so high after his ap-pointment as First VP. He is not sure G40 will hold on to power and if he moved too soon Mnangagwa may even act and kick him out.

Taking on Mnangagwa under the cover of peacemaker is one thing and doing so openly is another! What he did to Mai Mujuru has left a bitter taste in many people's mouth, doing the same to Mnangagwa may be pushing his lucky too far.

  5. As long as President Mugabe can appoint his own operatives to run ZEC who in turn will allow NIKUV, the Israeli company, for example, to corrupt the voters roll then the elections will be rigged. Whether or not ZEC is funded by parliament or some other way is of little consequence because that will not stop President Mugabe appointing his own cronies to run ZEC.

MDC does not want to demand the implementation of the GPA reforms designed to end President Mugabe's control of ZEC, the Police, because they fear Mugabe will say no because these are the reforms that will deliver free, fair and credible elections. Mugabe bribed MDC to kick these reforms into the tall grass during the GNU and so MDC are afraid of losing face because Mugabe will say why were these reforms not implemented during the GNU.

Zimbabweans want free and fair elections and must refuse anything short of that. The people must reject MDC's meaningless NERA reforms just because MDC do not have the political backbone to demand the real reforms we want!
