Talking to people like
Vince Musewe is like talking to a brick wall; whatever you say just bounces of
the wall leaving the wall no wiser.
“A number of people have
argued vociferously about both individuals, that Tsvangirai has failed and that
Mujuru has a soiled past. That may be true, but that doesn’t get us out of the
Zanu PF problem,” wrote Vince Musewe in his latest article.
“For the next election
we will need solid plans and numbers. In my opinion, Tsvangirai brings those
numbers whether we like it or not, while Mujuru gives us access to the army and
intelligence constituency, something that the MDC-T has failed to capture over
the years.”
Before you get anywhere
brother; Tsvangirai is a corrupt, incompetent leader who sold-out during the
GNU years. He has the opportunity to implement the GPA reforms but failed to
get even one reform implemented. Not one!
If we are serious about
ending the Zanu PF dictatorship then we must implement all the GPA reforms.
Tsvangirai is calling for the alignment of electoral reforms which anyone with
half a brain will tell you will never deliver free and fair elections.
Mai Mujuru is a corrupt,
incompetent and lazy leader. She was right at the heart of the Zanu PF
dictatorship and yet she has no clue how Mugabe rigged the elections. If Mujuru
ever got back into power, her top priority would be to consolidate her own position
by replacing Mugabe loyalists with Mujuru loyalists. We will still have a dictatorship
be it with a new dictator and new party name.
Yes, it is true that
Tsvangirai never earned the respect of those in the security services but that
was his fault. Amount the many reforms in the GPA were reforms designed to end
President Mugabe’s undemocratic control of the security sector.
If the nation had spent
the last two and half years demanding the implementation of all the GPA reforms
President Mugabe would have got the message by now that the reforms must be
implemented. We have wasted this time talking to brick walls, some wittering
about NERA whilst other witter about a coalition of twiddle dee and twiddle
dumb; neither of which will deliver free, fair and credible elections.
You acknowledge that
Mugabe will never win free, fair and credible elections so why are you not
focusing all you energy on demanding the implementation of the GPA reforms
necessary for free, fair and credible elections? We both know that Tsvangirai
and Mujuru will never deliver free and fair elections. Never ever!
“The
problem with us is that we debate too much and do nothing to make change
happen. There are a lot of views out there particularly in the diaspora, but in
my view, they remain just that — opinions that will not lead to change on the
ground. We will have to use what we have for now and its best to gather our
energies and resources around an MDC-T and People First partnership,” argued
Musewe.
So you think only your ideas are valid everyone else has “opinions
that will not lead to change on the ground”! How patronizing!
Both Tsvangirai and
Mujuru are corrupt and incompetent leaders with track record to prove; these
are historic facts and not a matter “may be true” speculation. How your opinion
can ignore historic facts and yet you still think your views are more valid
that those of people who accept facts is a measure of your arrogance. The same dictatorial
arrogance President Mugabe is renowned; the very thing we want to end!
On the contrary, the debate is with brick walls; you have set your
mind on Tsvangirai and Mujuru and will not listen to reason. You have grudgingly
accepted the two are corrupt and incompetent and yet want to try them once again
regardless their past record of failures in the hope that this time they will
do better.
After 35 years of trying the same corrupt and incompetent leaders
reason says change the political system to one that will encourage quality
leaders to emerge!
@ Maita
ReplyDeleteAre you saying Tsvangirai and Mujuru are not breathtakingly corrupt and incompetent? If you are then please explain why the former failed to get even one reform implemented in the five years of the GNU and the latter has done nothing to stop the corruption and tyranny of Zanu PF throughout the 34 years she was in power!
If Tsvangirai had implemented the reforms then Mugabe would not be in power right now.
If the nation continues to follow this village idiot, Tsvangirai, then Mugabe will certainly rig the next elections because of implementing the GPA reforms certain to deliver free and fair elections the idiot is asking for wishy-washy reforms that will do nothing to stop Mugabe rigging the next elections!
A process of recycling the same breathtakingly corrupt, incompetent and sell-outs and hope again hope that they will deliver the changes we want?
ReplyDeleteAfter 35 years of waiting for their first free, fair and credible elections the people of Zimbabwe deserve free, fair and credible elections and not another fudge!
@ Nhekairo
ReplyDeleteIf we fail to implement the GPA reforms before the next elections then Mugabe will once again have a free hand at rigging the elections. If Mugabe does not win outright the next elections then he will win enough seats to retain his strangle hold on power. Corrupt and incompetent leaders like Tsvangirai or Mujuru will be only too glad to be back on the gravy train they will allow Mugabe to do as he please!
@ Patrick
ReplyDeleteTsvangirai had the golden opportunity to bring about the democratic changes we have been yarning for since independence during the GNU when Mugabe's hands were tied by the GPA and SADC was there to ensure the tyrant honoured the agreement. Tsvangirai would never get Mugabe to implement the reforms now and hence the reason he is pushing for the wishy-washy electoral law reforms. One would expect someone as smart as Vince to know this and I believe that he does.
So why does Vince continue to promote the Tsvangirai and Mujuru coalition even when it is clear the two will never deliver free and fair elections?
Answer: Vince has his eyes on the price of ministerial position after the next elections and he sees the Tsvangirai and Mujuru as his ticket there. Getting all the GPA reforms implemented and thus have free and fair elections would be good for the country but that would open up the political field to serious democratic competition; his two mentors will fall by the wayside guaranteed.
Vince is willing to squander another chance to end the Zanu PF dictatorship for the sake of see-ing himself promoted Minister! Of course it would be irresponsible of those who can see his devilish plan to let him sell-out the nation just as Tsvangirai, Mujuru, Mugabe and all the other leaders have done!
We have heard all this nonsense about “I will deliver free and fair elections” before and yet again and again we have asked Vince how and he has refused to answer! The Zimbabwe electorate need to wise up; we are up to our eyes in trouble because we have trusted individuals who promised us mass prosperity only to deliver mass poverty!
VP Mphoko has been doing his best to build his political profile to justify his appointment as VP. All his stories are hen's teeth stories starting nowhere and going nowhere!
ReplyDeleteIf VP Mphoko had any democratic credentials worth talking about then he should have realized that the 1987 Unity Accord was the creation of the de facto one party dictatorship Mugabe had started building with Gukuranhundi. Zanu PF and PF Zapu were welcome to unite or stay as two separate entities why did they have to deny everyone else the right to free and fair elections?
Ever since VP Mphoko was appointed he has shown the same weakness shown by other Mugabe appointees, a shameless willingness to grovel to Mugabe! we are fighting to end this corrupt and tyrannical rule and he is doing his best to maintain the status quo!
