Zimbabwe is a failed state because of "you and me"! You and me, yes but not rural povo. W Mukori

“Zimbabwe is where she is because of you and me

24 July 2024

I was wondering why the law stings, also the one who defends the criminals for defeating the end of justice or obstructing the course of justice.

The law is right because those who defend, support, and  protect wrongdoers and failures are the *number one foes  and  internal  saboteurs of Zimbabwe development.

Blaming politicians is just as good as missing the target.

No politician can survive politically without supporters and defenders.

But the truth is defenders of politicians are treated as cleaning rugs or hunting dogs 🐕  which defend the owner or even hunt and catch a fatty animal, putting all this effort for bones as their reward.

Zimbabwe is where it is because you and me can not draw a line between white and black.

Let's correct our leaders when they make mistakes. That way, we will build Zimbabwe.

Akson Potera.”

Very interesting but this is too general to be of much use.

The Greeks said democracy - government of the people by the people and by the people - only works if the said people are educated, knowledgeable and diligent in holding the leaders to account. I would say in Zimbabwe there has not been even the effort to educate the voters, especially in the rural areas who are kept poor, ignorant and in constant fear of the over bearing Zanu PF ruling elite and their proxies!

Mnangagwa himself is on record boasting of how the rural voters would be frog marched to vote. “Sabuku beri vanhu pakati kumashure Zanu PF chayamani kumashure. Chisinga zikanwi rufu, avhota anorikanwa kuti abvepi!”

Zanu PF has increased the number of Polling Stations from 10 per constituency with a constituency voters’ roll (meaning one could vote in any of the 10 PS) in 2008 to 54 PSs and with PS voters’ roll. Of course, it is naive to deny this was done for the express purpose of ending the myth that one vote is one’s secret, exactly what Mnangagwa was crowing about. The rural voters has no choice but vote for Zanu PF!

The urban voters are  different kettle of fish! The urban and the millions in the diaspora voters participated in 2023 elections knowing fully well the process is flawed, “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw,” as David Coltart aptly put it. They also knew that participating would give Zanu PF legitimacy. Still they soldiered on because Chamisa told them “I have plugged all the vote rigging loop holes. #Godisinit!”

Of course, Chamisa was lying and not for the first time either.

One cannot say the urban voters and the millions in the diaspora are not educated and knowledgeable; what excuse it there for them not to be in this day and age. And yet the facts on the ground speak for themselves - nearly 2 million voted for Chamisa and 3 to 4 million in the diaspora cheered and applauded the participation.  How is it possible that so many were so easily conned by a corrupt, incompetent and lying upstart like Chamisa?

Mnangagwa, just like Mugabe, has never had an problems recruiting some of the country’s most learned men and women to spruce up the party’s image, to do the party’s dirty work and/or clean up afterwards. He has very deep pocket and the raw call of these who have received his bribes is impressive. Here is a list of the recipients of Mnangagwa’s generosity for helping him rig the 2023 elections:

  • MPs and senators received US$40k, deputy ministers and ministers US$ 230k and 500k “housing loan” (euphemism for bribe) paid in Nov 2022 to buy their silence on reckless spending blow.

  • All the country village heads and Chiefs received motor cycles and twin cab trucks - they were Zanu PF political commissars in all but name

  • church leaders receive farms and/or cars for mobilising their church members to vote for Zanu PF

  • magistrate and judges receive varying amounts with all judges getting US$ 400k “housing loans” for turning blind eye to electoral flaws and illegality.

  • ZEC officials received US$ 230k “housing loan” plus undisclosed amounts from dodgy contract suppliers like Wicknell Chivhayo; payment to do whatever is necessary to guarantee electoral victory for Mnangagwa and Zanu PF.

  • millions of dollars were spend transporting and feeding the hired crowds to party rallies.

  • last but not least, there is no denying MDC/CCC are Zanu PF team B in all but name. Mugabe bribes Morgan Tsvangirai with the trapping of high office during the 2008 to 2013 GNU and have been doing Zanu PF’s bidding ever since. Of course, Chamisa knew he was lying about plugging all the vote rigging loop holes, he just wanted his supporters to participate in the flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy.

Yes Zimbabwe is a failed state because of “you and me” but we must separate the guilt from the innocent victims! Our political analysis must be surgically accurate if we are ever going to get out of the mess we are in. We have the historic data to pin-point the root causes of the dysfunctional dictatorship and our seemingly inability to end it. We must use it! “Kwete kungokuvhirira zvose mavhu namarara!” as one would say in Shona.

“Mukoma lets report chokwadi, ED after 2028 haako unless harmonised elections abva.
2 terms and he is out.

How does anyone sleep at night achingoita negative about country yake, is it not same as kutuka mai?”

Zimbabwe is a failed state with no respect of rule of law, the government does not care about suffering of others, elections are rigged and corruption is rampant. These are all very negative things and should we all bury our heads in the backsides of those responsible for these things in the name of “let’s not talk negative things about country!” Of course, it is down right foolish to listen to such nonsense for the obvious reason that pretending these things re not happening will only encourage them to flourish, as we can see.

Mnangagwa and Zanu PF have carried out Gukurahundi, staged the 2008 electoral coup, stage the 2017 military coup, have blatantly rigged elections for the last 44 years; it is therefore naive to think he would have problems brushing aside a mere constitutional clause saying he cannot be president for a third term.

I think you should express your opinion on any matter as we are all entitled to but never ever pretend that you are wiser than King Solomon and therefore the sole custodian of “chokwadi”! You have said some down right stupid things. You are not wiser than King Solomon, don’t you ever forget that!

Mnangagwa's vision 2030 is a mirage, it is now 7 years of the Second Republic and there is not even the spring buds, first signs of economic recovery. Corruption has gone into overdrive and the regime's propaganda has turned up the volume to drown out the reality. The dictator cannot mesmerise and bamboozle us all with his lies and is now in a panic.

The hive of propaganda activity is because Mnangagwa can see the writing on the wall: CHANGE IS UPON US AND IT IS UNSTOPPABLE!

And we, the people, can deliver that CHANGE by making sure we are NOT conned into participating in flawed 2028 elections by Chamisa's idiotic lies.

I have given the solution - stop participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy! You see but do not perceive, hear but never comprehend; Chamisa has only to promise another idiotic lie and millions will participate in the 2028 flawed elections! When the damage is done, they will, no doubt, scream “give us solutions”!

"Iwe munhu siyana naChamisa. You actually iritate with your hatred of someone who is not in govt. Just form your party tione how your nauseating ugly hollow voice will come convince even a flie."

Chamisa was in the 2008 to 2013 GNU and failed to implement even one token reform. He lied about plugging the vote rigging loop holes to con millions of Zimbabweans into participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy. He is set to con them again into participating in 2028 elections; that must and will be stopped. And one sure way to stop the idiot is hold him to democratic account - that is not negotiable.

If you do not understand that Chamisa is accountable that is your problem and not mine!

Whilst the British have had 10 Prime Ministers since 1980 we, in Zimbabwe, have had only two Presidents (and the change in 2017 was not a result of the people's wish but rather the army stepped in). Our political stagnation is at the heart of why Zimbabwe is a failed state.

On the democratic index with zero for authoritarian and 10 for democracy, Zimbabwe scores 2.92. As long as Zimbabwe remains an authoritarian state in which the people are denied a meaningful say in the governance of the country, we will remain a failed state.

Progress, real progress, is made when we hear what we OUGHT to hear and not just want to hear and better still act constructively on it! The lesser minds would dismiss all said here as rubbish when we all know every word is true!

‘We’re too weak to face Zanu PF’ said Professor Welshman Ncube. Ballocks! In the GNU MDC out numbered Zanu PF and you failed to implement even one token reform in five years. MDC/CCC will never implement any reform and end the Zanu PF dictatorship. Never ever!

The tragedy for the country is that there are 2 million ignorant and naive Chamisa Chete Chete supporters steeped in the personality cult mentality to see much less think; they will be conned into participating in the flawed 2028 elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and thus perpetuating the nation's suffering.

“We fail our nation by importation and adoptation of western institutions and by trying to measure everything we do against the West and in such measurements we forget a lot of crucial things which result in our self hate etc.”

The trap you and many have fallen into is to be brain washed into believing anything and everything associated with the West is bad and must be avoided at all cost.

What is wrong in saying every Zimbabwean must have a meaningful say in the governance of the country? That no one should be above the law and all those in public office must be accountable to the people?

You are rejecting these ideas for no other reason than that they are associated with the West! How foolish is that! I embrace them as the foundation of good governance, justice, peace and economic prosperity.

Zimbabwe is subject to the same laws of thermodynamics, of supply and demand, of evolution, etc., etc. as is the rest of the world. Only an idiot would waste time arguing that the earth is flat just because the people in the West say it is a sphere! There is overwhelming evidence to prove the world is a sphere and I go with the evidence.

“Mwonzora didn't participate but stil it didn't change anything.”

Did Mwonzora or any of the other nine candidate have much support. The later had 4% of the vote. So why would you think 4% would have the same effect as 44%? The problem with some people is the lack of common sense!

“Mukori what will be the outcome if chamisa party say they will not participate 2028 election, what will be the status of zanu pf in terms of constitutionality.”

Chamisa and company have been participating in flawed elections “so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw,” as Coltart put it. Even SADC and AU have condemned the 2023 election. Chamisa and company have participated regardless knowing doing so would give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate the nation’s suffering because they also knew Zanu PF would give away a few gravy train seats.

“The (2013) electoral process was so flawed, so illegal, that the only logical step was to withdraw, which would compel SADC to hold Zanu PF to account. But such was the distrust between the MDC-T and MDC-N that neither could withdraw for fear that the other would remain in the elections, winning seats and giving the process credibility,” confessed David Coltart in his Book, The Struggle Continues 50 years of Tyranny in Zimbabwe.

Chamisa and company have been participating in these flawed elections out of greed, God only know where you got the foolish notion that they have been participating to uphold the constitution! But then it should be no surprise since you really have very little clue what is going on here. In the past you failed to name what constitute free, fair and credible elections. The spirit is willing but the intellect is weak!

"Common sense will tell you that they will still rule even in an election condemned by all observer bodies."

SADC would have denied Zanu PF political legitimacy last year if nearly 2 million Zimbabweans had not participated in the flawed elections because they were conned by Chamisa into believing the idiotic lie that he had plugged all vote rigging loop holes! If Zimbabweans are happy to participate in flawed elections it is not for SADC or anyone else to stop us!

Any one can say this stupid or that is good but only those with the brain can say why this is stupid or that is good! The world is full of those who think they know but when push comes to shove have turned out to be empty drums just making a lot of noise!

If I am wrong in saying MDC/CCC sold out by failing to implement even one reforms in 24 years, including 5 in the GNU. Then prove me wrong by naming one reform they implemented. Zanu PF blatantly rigged 2023 elections because no meaningful reforms were implemented!

Mnangagwa is doing more harm being president of Zimbabwe than he can ever do being SADC chairman. We should have not participated in the flawed elections in our millions especially when we knew doing so would give ZAnu PF legitimacy. Forget the SADC chairmanship, it is a distraction, focus on educating the Chamisa Chete Chete nincompoops; there is a real danger that they participate in flawed 2028 election and give Zanu PF legitimacy yet again!

“The opposition is not only frail and enfeebled but also utterly disconnected from the Africanism paradigm, rendering its attempts to surpass ZANU PF utterly futile. Its stance is anachronistic, stuck in a bygone era, and hopelessly out of sync with the African syllabus. Like a relic of a forgotten past, the opposition is struggling to find relevance, desperately trying to peddle an agenda that serves the interests of former colonial masters. They are lost in a quagmire of irrelevance, retrograde in their thinking, and perpetually out of step with the rhythms of Africa's progress.”

We should not fail in the Zanu PF propaganda lie of attributing everything the opposition does to the “serving the interest of former colonial masters”. MDC/CCC leaders have failed to implement even one token reforms because they are breathtakingly corrupt and incompetent. I do not see how that blatant betrayal of the nations has served the nation, the West or anyone else other than Zanu PF and the leaders’ selfish interests!

Whilst I accept that MDC/CCC leaders are corrupt and incompetent still I accept there are human being and not some Western controlled ventriloquist dummy. Your black inferiority complex has paralysed you so much so you see yourself as a dummy and project the same on every other black person you see.

How naive! What is there to be jealous about 2 million who are so ignorant and naive they believe an idiotic lie like “I have plugged all vote rigging loop holes. #Godisinit!” Or jealous about Chamisa who is so incompetent and corrupt he has failed to implement even one token reform in 24 years. Have ignorant and naive followers is not a virtue!

  16. There is some truth in this, the “new rich” especially those who do not have the tax returns to prove their source of wealth, have the knack of flaunting their wealth, sometimes to a sicken levels. Why would anyone have over 400 designer shoes or 45 gold watched , for example!

“Perfectly well bro you are the most monotonous Stooge on the platform. It could be me or there's a handful of us who hate your posts.

It's either you are a pfeerorist or you are someone who is benefitting from the status quo.”

I have consistently call for the implementation of the democratic reforms to ensure free, fair and credible elections. Since when has Zanu PF ever wanted free and fair elections? How then does that make me “a pfeerorist”? It is really shocking how anyone can be so dumb and stupid! But given 2 million were conned into participating in flawed elections to give Zanu PF legitimacy and perpetuate their own suffering; there is no denying we have a pool of nincompoops out there.

Even now, with the benefit of hindsight, you still fail to see the sheer futility of participating in these flawed elections. Chamisa conned you last year with the idiotic lie of plugging all the vote rigging loop holes to stop Zanu PF rigging the elections. It is clear he will con you again come 2028! The tragedy for Zimbabwe is that nincompoops like you have the vote and there are millions of you!

The ancient Greeks gave mankind democracy and the olympic games. One of the most enduring tenets of the olympic games is how open and honest competition pushes all to excel and when this is applied government the nation gets the best there is. When open debate is stifled and democratic competition denied there is stagnation and the worst type of government one can imagine.

The Olympic flame will burn throughout the Paris 2024 Olympic Game, may it inspire all Zimbabweans to fight for the flame of democracy and good governance that was snuffed out by Zanu PF way back in 1980. Zimbabwe is yet to hold free, fair and credible elections.

Zimbabwe is a failed state and millions of our people are living in abject poverty. Still it is not enough to call for an end of the Zanu PF dictatorship. After 44 years of Zanu PF rigging the elections and the last 24 years of which with the connivance of the opposition; we should be asking why have we failed to bring about meaningful democratic change all these years.

We have failed to end the Zanu PF dictatorship the last 24 years not because Mnangagwa and his cronies are smart, they are buffoons. We have failed to end the dictatorship because the MDC/CCC leaders we entrusted the task to implement the democratic reforms are breathtakingly corrupt, incompetent and liars. The problem is that we, the people, have neither the intellect to comprehend CCC leaders for whom they are nor courage to admit it to ourselves.

"Operation buda musaga!" Stop the insanity of repeating the same mistakes and hoping for a different result; stop the millions set to participating in the flawed 2028 elections only to give Zanu PF legitimacy!
